I have been trying to root my note 4 with kingroot and always it restarts my phone, I am running 4.4.4 kitkat, on a verizon note 4 retail. SM-N910V, 4.4.4, NJ5. Anyone know any suggestions? I have tried kingroot 4.0 and the newest one even tried PC neither works, all I want root for is for freedom to get coins on cookie jam.

Yeah. Kingroot won't work on my toaster or laptop either... anyone have any suggestions?

Does Framaroot still work for Note 8?

I tried version 1.4.2 AND aragorn says "Failed. Try another exploit"
I tried 1.6 and aragorn sits for a minute then exits without visible error, but I don't have root.
Everything I'm seeing says it should just work. What could I be doing differently?
I used cf auto root instead and it worked with no problems.
Samsung patched the exploit a couple of months ago. Cf auto root is the easiest way now.

I used framaroot on my note 8 5100 3g, only about 2 days ago and it worked perfectly on my note 8 running 4.1.2.
I followed this tutorial on you tube...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpMY1xqXBhU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I also recommend the other suggestions in the video, multiwindow manager is awesome you can run any apps you want in multiwindow.

Framaroot 1.6.x didn't work for my recently purchased Note 8.0 N5110.
I ended up using the 1.1 Toolkit method listed on XDA.

[Q] Root for sm-t217s running the new 4.4.2 kitkat update?

Hello my names Aaron, I rooted my galaxy tab 3 (sm-t217s) a little bit ago then unrooted just because my wifi wasnt turning on.. I had to do a stock restore through odin to get it all working again. When I did that I got the new kitkat update and gladly updated it. Now again though I want to root it so I can again do all the great things you can do with rooting!
So my questions are:
Can I root it running 4.4.2 the same way I did when I was running 4.2.2? Will it brick it if I just put on a custom recovery the same way as before and let that install superSU?
I would just like to know and if not then is there another way currently to root it?
I couldnt find anything about it that is why I am posting about it.. must not be a very common tablet?
Anyways thanks for your time and help!

Either use towelroot to root from within android or you can still flash twrp from Odin and root that way. Twrp may set warranty bit, mine was was already tripped so I can't say dor sure if it does.

I used towel root on4.4.2 update worked great, and yes twrp does set set warrenty bit

I used towelroot on my tablet, it does what it has to do. Does not reboot, but when I use Root Checker it says that I do not have root.....any suggestions?
I was rooted with towel root fine under the June 2014 update to 4.4.2, but I mistakenly took the update to NH4 while rooted. My device seems to be fine, but I lost root and Towel root will not seem to root me again, no way, no how. My warranty bit is clean, and I don't want to trip it, but I'd love to have root back. Is there anyything I can do on NH4 from within Android to get root back? TIA
How did you do an unroot through Odin and which version of Towelroot did you use to root it again? I have the same tablet.
I have SM-T217S running Kitkay 4.4.2. I've tried almost every root app there is (Kingo, Towel, ect.). They all say my device isn't compatible. And when I go to update under settings, it says that my device is running unauthorized software and that I need to use Samsung kies to flash. But it has no root & no custom software, everything is normal. I have tried using computer to root but still nothing. What could I do to fix it?

Downgrading to KitKat worth it?

I was going to downgrade my Verizon Note 4 to 4.4.4 KitKat. Although, I am a bit "faint of heart" when it comes to this, so to speak. I've loaded custom ROMs and rooted other devices, but with my new-ish-ly acquired note 4 I have not. Is there any risk downgrading to 4.4.4 just for the "Kingroot" temporary root? Or would it be better just to wait for a lollipop temporary or kitkat permanent root? Thanks.

I wish I could agree, but I have no use for it right now.

This.
Smart Lock has changed my life. I've paired it with my wifi, my mac, my car and my headphones for the gym. It simply works and just makes everything better.
Smart unlock can be replicated on 4.4.4 with tasker.
SkipLock also gives you similar features (along with some extras) of Smart Lock in Lollipop.

I actually had the same question and right now i am attempting a downgrade on my note 4
I'm wondering if there's a risk factor associated with downgrading. I want to do it just for the root, but should I just wait until a temp-root (at least) comes out for Lollipop?
Can I really trust $500+ dollars of technology to a computer program?
Tried getting Smart Unlock at the play store, and it says it's incompatible with my device? Verizon Note 4 retail edition, by the way. And thank you for mentioning this app. It looks like something I would need.

Yes you can trust it, as many others have done it and Odin has been used for a long time to flash firmware on Samsung phones. I have downgraded from 5.0.1 three times already with Odin with no issues. This phone has been out since Oct and there hasn't been any kind of root until this temp root came along from KingRoot. If you want root that bad, it is time to downgrade.

Smart Lock is already built into your Note 4 on Lollipop, Go to Settings>Security>Trust Agents>Enable Smart Lock Then under security click on Smart Lock and set it up. If you are talking about SkipLock from the play store, it isn't compatible with 5.0.1 as 5.0.1 has it build into the system. SkipLock only works on 4.4.4 for the Note 4.
It was worth it for me.
The only thing inconvenient about doing the down grade is you have to start all over again. But I found it worth it since now, Bluetooth and WiFi work flawlessly again. WiFi was unusable on Lollipop and Bluetooth kept disconnecting.
I can live without smart unlock...

Can you please help me on this. I've done everything that a tutorial has using odin, samsung drivers, backup, factory re-set etc etc but still get the msg FAIL. Couldn't find anyone particular who downgraded SM-910V to Kitkat on youtube either.
Pls guide me. I don't want to experiment with any ROM ...just plain downgrade to Kitkat. Cannot stand the dark/square plus usual lollipop issues.
Many Thanks in advance.

If you took the update you can not go back. The only way you can downgrade is if you did the safe upgrade if not you are stuck. From the error message it sounds like you are. Sorry.

ROOTING Verizon note 7 and need help

So im trying to root my Verizon note 7 with kingoroot and its not working. Can anybody help?
What is your build number? look in about phone
I thought it is not possible to root the Note 7 with kingoroot. The only method that works is OvrDriVE method and will only work if you have the PH1 build. If you have the PHE then there is no possible root and probably will never be one since no one will be developing for this device.

Trying to root RCA RLTP5567 (Android 6.0)

Hey guys,
I'm trying to root a cheap phone that I just got, but i'm not able to do it . I've tried KingoRoot and kingroot, but no success. I've tried the windows version of kingo too. It's a Android 6.0. Basicly I wanted to root my Asus zenfone 3 Laser, but it's an androitd 7.0, so pretty impossible for now... So i'm trying with an older version but it's not seem to be very successful. Any help or tips, please?
Thanks.

I bought the same phone and am looking for ways to root it, it's such a bi**h! tried all the options you mentioned as well ...
popups all over the place, not just in browser.. need to uninstall some system apps that may be causing this.
Do you have popup issues as well? if so, did you manage to get rid of them ..?
