On other android systems I can check on little boxes besides. But for Note 2 I could only touch to sync manually.
Why is the auto-sync always disabled?

I think what should be done is:
-Pull down your notification bar
-Slide the toggle panel all the way to the right
- touch the sync icon to enable or disable sync.

That sync button has disappeared with the new Multi-window update. So how do I enable autosync, now? All of my accounts simply say "sync disabled" and I can't figure out how to enable it again!

in my Note 2, i went to settings, display, and there is a Notofication panel.
tapped on it, and it displayed all the notification icons that i can enable when i do actually go to the notication screen or not
i dragged the sync icon the display portion of the notification row
closed app
then from the home screen, swiped my finger from top to the bottom of the screen, the sync button is there. In my case it was disabled, enabled and all is working fine
see if you have the same or not
TMobile did an update today. Changed the kernel and baseband versions. I also am missing the sync icon in the pull down menu and my accounts say sync disabled.
I also had that problem yesterday.
I fixed it with inzee suggestion.
I have the Verizon Note2 SCH-I605 and it does not have anyplace to Enable or disable SYNC. I also do not have any Notification settings under DISPLAY.. so I have no idea how to disable much less To Enable Syncs.

Im thinking this might have something to do with the 4.1.2 update. I suspect the ones that posted in this thread and were able to fix the problem did not have the newest update. Can anyone that has the newest 4.1.2 verify they still have the sync icon on the pull down page or either have a Notification Panel in the Display Settings where Icons can be added or removed? I dont.......... Anyone?
Workaround
I could not find a stock solution for the verizon note 2. I ended up adding a beautiful widget for that switch and it worked again.

I've just registered to thank you very much. This was the right answer to the problem:
AFTER updating the Galaxy Note 2 GT-7100 from Android 4.1 to 4.1.2 the Sync icon on the top bar disappeared (it was replaced by the "Multi-Window" icon). The Sync icon/tab was there before updating.
I spent many hours trying to find the way to get it back without luck until I did a research on the web (also spending many hours) and then I found your answer, which is correct: you can select which icon will appear on the top bar. I didn't know about that feature. You can even remove some and put others.
It shouldn't depend or be linked to any provider at all, it's part of the Android 4.1.2 O.S. (probably 4.1 too).
So thank you very much once again

Thank you for your response Drake. I was beginning to think it was just me. Apparently this is only the case with ATT I317 update as HDcam posted above he still has this option under Settings>Display>Notification after the 4.1.2 update on the 7100....... It must me a glitch in the ATT update, which doesnt surprise me. They are goofballs.

That's pretty bad indeed..
I didn't know a provider would modify such bascic O.S. options like these.
My Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-7100 was purchased without contract to any provider, and I downloaded the update directly using the Software Update icon in the Apps. (which in fact is a shortcut to Settings ->About this device -> Updates .-Sorry if the English translation is not 100% accurate) It was about 250 MB of download.

Hi all,
I have searched through the forums to see if I can find a fix for my problem but no joy. I'm probably using the wrong terminology in my searches as I cannot find anything on google either.
Basically I use twitter, like many others, to keep up to date with news in my industry sector, in fact it's a very important source for me. To do this I use the "Mobile Notifications" feature which sends a notification to my phone everytime one of my selected people who I follow tweets.
I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and these notifications worked perfectly. I now have an LG G3 and they do not.
Please note, I am not talking about @ mentions, likes or retweets, they all work fine, it's simply the mobile notifications whenever someone else tweets who I have selected to receive notifications.
These are the settings I have checked:
Checked background data: On
Twitter > Settings > @Myaccount > Notifications : ON
Twitter > Settings > @Myaccount > Notifications > Tweets : TICKED (Plus all accounts)
Twitter > Settings > @Myaccount > Sync Data : ON
Whenever I change my phone these settings are the ones I check to make sure I get my notifications but it doesn't work in this case.
I receive push notifications for my other apps but not twitter.
The phone isn't rooted. It's on 4.4.2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys
Mark
Has anyone run into the problem where you can only receive text from the built in messenger app. I've tried Textra, Android Messenger, Etc. And all have the exact same history from a few days ago compared to Samsung messenger which is updated completely . I can send from the the 3rd party messengers i've made default, but all responses go to the Samsung messenger even though it is not the defaulted one. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

My Textra App, shows a completely different message history than the built in app. One that has a few of todays messages in it, missing some in between. I have no idea whats going on. Also my OTP SMS autofill does not work on any app (when the server sends you a code and instead of having to go into messages and copy the code, it should autofill and self verify) You can imagine the problem i had when trying to do a factory restore and google was attempting to send me a text to verify and it wasnt auto reading the text with the code.

Yes, the problem exists.
Go to Settings > Cloud and Accounts > check the multi-line settings "this is the option that is messing with texts"
Also go to Apps > Scroll to "Messages' and tap on it, Hit Storage >> Clear Data, go back one, and you'll see "set as default" under the permissions. clear defaults and "after you do the wipe it might be greyed out >> open your preferred app and try to text yourself and make sure.

What should multi line settings be? I have DIGITs with my S3 Rugged, but i never had this problem with my V20
I've been using Signal since day one. Absolutely no issues. Even used it to make calls through signal to another signal user.

I didn't mess with the multi-line settings, but just to make sure it is off. I have been using textra with no issue.
My wife started having problems with texts after the most recent update as well. She can send texts and I receive them, but she doesn't receive any texts. I've had her try resetting, turning on and off Wi-Fi, etc. I'm having her try clearing data and cache from the Messages app, I'll let you know if it works.
Edit: Tried clearing data and cache and setting Messages as the default, still no luck. And I don't see any option for multi line settings in Cloud and Accounts. Any other ideas?

Interesting, try clearing the cache and data in Google Play Store. If this doesn't work you may need to go into your Google Play Services and clear the data and cache there. You need to go to Settings and hit Application manager or Apps. From there, find the Google Play Services app (the puzzle piece). Also, if the APK you're trying to install isn't in Google Play Store android may block the installation. This is the SMS App I'm using, maybe it will work for you.
I'm using RM-R835F (this is LTE capable) which is paired to my phone using BT. My career currently doesn't support numbershare so I can't set LTE up from the phone Galaxy Wear app (I'm in Canada).
What I want to do is to get a new plan for the watch with a separate number and everything. So the watch should have a separate phone number and data plan.
I saw some steps to use the watch completely independent of the phone. However I want to keep getting app notifications from the phone over BT. For talk, text and data from the watch, I want to use the separate plan and number for the watch.
Is there a way to achieve this? I searched around but couldn't find a way so far.
Thanks in advance!
I use separate from the phone plane with indepedent number. I have all notifications from phone and use watches for calls and sms from its esim phone number. Set Always On in mobile settings on watch.
P.S? It may cause battery drain due always on mobile network on the watches.

On the watch just go into settings, connections, mobile networks and set mobile networks to always on. Make sure mobile data is on as well (right below mobile networks). Then under connections menu check to make sure under data usage, mobile data is on as well.

He means steps to connect esim with indepedent number. In my country no one operator have possibility to work in watch officially (menu with QR code is hidden). So we get to this menu by simple manipulations.
Here is an instruction:
1. Go to Galaxy Wearable on your phone -> at the bottom of the list, select "About Galaxy Wearable" -> tap quickly 5 times on the label " Galaxy Watch Plugin"
2. In the menu that opens, go to the "Test SIM Feature" section and turn on the "Current QR TestMode" and "Current Test Mode" items (the later may not be necessary)
3. Go Galaxy Wearable on your phone to "Mobile networks" - > select any SIM card
4. After the window displays that "failed", a button appears at the bottom of the screen, now you can to connect any esim card by scanning QR code.

Thanks! I have enabled the option on my phone. I'll get a QR code and give it a go today.
Update: Got my esim from a provider in Canada that's not officially supported by Samsung. However calls and texts seem to work just fine after adding the plan to watch. Haven't tried using data yet.

Yes mine gets notification from both. Your watch must be connected to your provider. Try disconnecting BT connection and send a text to your watch while it's connected to the provider to test.

Guys, please help me!
I tried these settings but something I f*cked up.
Now In step3, "select any sim card" is not possible for me, because it always uses some weird test data ((
So when I hit "Add mobile plan", it is not asking anything just goes ahead and tries activating some silly test plan
Is there a way out without wiping the phone to 0? And probably trashing it away..
Hi if you have already scanned the esim QR code then you need to ask your provider to generate another or find another esin somewhere as the QR can normally only be use once on many providers.
The watch can only hold 2 esim profiles so look under settings mobile plans to see if any are present ... and if required make space by deleting UNUSED esim plans.....
when you have checked that you will have space for the new esim profile ...proceed as described above ....by the other members...
but follow carefully and it should work ...

I haven't already scanned the esim QR. I just tapped 5 times on the plugin version, and looked around in that menu.
Before that, when I hit "Add mobile plan", my phone showed a dialog asking which plan I want to use (my phone holds 2 SIM).
But after I went into that hidden menu and tried some options there, my phone is not asking which plan I want to use.
And analysing the watch's SDB log, I can see that it tries activating a mobile plan which is not on my phone. It is the test plan I might selected when I was in that hidden plugin menu.
That's why I'm asking if you are aware of any option which could help my phone to get back it's "normal" operation and ask my desire of which mobile plan I want to activate.
after clicking 5 times on the plugin version a new menu pops up
if you have then selected QR testmode then go back to the main wear app you should get asked to scan a QR code with the phone cam when you select manage mobile plan ....note i normally reboot the phine after changing the test qr code.
to reset to nornal just click 5 times on plugin version then deselect QR testmode and any other options you have clicked in the past then reboot the ohone and then load the wear app again ..the next time you select manage mobile plan the app will try to add a mobile plan from your phones sim provider as normal...
First I haven't even selected QR testmode, I only looked into that menu, and tried selecting options within Automatic eSIM. I clicked eSim Auto Test, and selected an operator there. After that I clicked on "Reset auto test values".
After that wearable app is not asking me which SIM I want to use during "Add mobile plan" and it uses by default that test MCC and MNC which I selected in "Auto Test" in plugin's hidden menu.
I tried restarting the phone, the watch. Tried completely removing wearables, and reinstalling, this made my watch reset to factory as well.
Even after this process, wearable is not asking me which SIM I want to use.
Now after all, I finally succeed with activation with QR code, and don't want (can) add more plans to the watch, so I'm satisfied, just wanted to let you know that you can really have chance screwing up things in that menu!
Guys, this method is not working anymore as the updated Wearable app doesn't contain this 5tap-magic.
Do you know any other way to enable the QR-testmode with the latest wearable app (2.2.42.21.083061 + watch active2 plugin: 2.2.08.21081751)
Is (was) this menu implemented in the plugin or the wearable app? I'm trying to find the spots in the apks.
Thx
Forgive me. Have to press 5times on "Galaxy Wearable" label now.
Edit: i think i do not own the same model :/
