Hey so anyone tried using the Antutu Benchmark test? I used it for the DT2 and there are like 10 other phones that blow this thing away. My highest result was just over 53K. I am using the 64bit version. Anyone else getting better results? I thought this device would be up there with GN5...
I'm still considering trading this in for maybe the LG v10 or Note 5
Lol the V10 certainly won't be faster. So your comment is kind of funny.

Yeah I know, but I like the look and feel of the V10..
I'm just puzzled why the DT2 is only getting around 53-55K and other phones are seemingly blowing this one out of the water???
I just got a test result of over 59K but I accepted a phone call during the test.
I just got a 59315 with a fully configured device.

Just ran mine got over 60000
Sent from my XT1585 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Mine just pulled in a 54436. Not particularly great, but whatever. Still more than passable for me.
What?
i got this on droid turbo 1 (moto maxx)
Pulled a 62081 this morning with no tweaking. Most of my mail is set to check every 15 minutes so I may have run the test in a slow time.
I just pulled 63000 on my 64GB Droid Turbo 2 this morning, obviously the gs6 and note 5 beat the SD 810.
Benchmarked one of the display models at Best Buy with the new Antutu v6.0 app, got 84,575. That was after I'd been using the device for about 10 minutes. Sorry I don't have pics. Got 76,242 after a second go around.
Running the most current antutu it don't seem to low.

Quick question, was that after you'd been using it or did you benchmark it right away as soon as you started the phone up?

So that's pretty dang fast then. Other sd810 devices probably would've throttled their benchmark scores way down after that usage (not much). 6.0 is coming soon, I don't think Motorola will have a repeat of the last gen turbo, not getting the update until way after the Moro x 2014 got it. Especially since employee editions already have it. Performance should go up, and we just might see more geek bench results in the low 5000s. Speaking of which, I also ran geekbench on the display model, got 4,362. Again, no pics.

Okay. Thats surprising, slower than an S6, of which lagged like crazy when I used one. The turbo 2 was literally the fastest device I have used in a while, X Pure aside. But Que sera, Que sera. Benhmarked above the samsungs tho. But hey, everybody's got a different boat to float, right? S6 battery life is abysmal, so not hard for turbo 2 to kill it off in that regard.
My wife has the S6, which she gets along with very well. But being that the S6 was mentioned earlier in this thread, I have to say that when it comes to updating/installing apps and checking Storage/Cached data, the S6 is much faster at processing all of that. I still prefer my Turbo 2 to her S6.

Hi.
When i bought my SGN i knew it was the fastest phone at the time.
Now, 4 months later i've got myself a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
First thing i did, was to get some ICS on it. I used AOKP ROM.
To see how well it performed, i ran a Quadrant test on it. It scored good, and even better after i activated overclock (1,4GHz)
Just for the fun of it, i ran the same test on my SGN, and i was surprised over the results!

Quadrant is unreliable.
people still use quadrant?
It's a bar graph showing the different results of an application called "Quadrant". The higher the bar the "faster" your device is perceived to be. This tool is often used to determine the speed of devices when they are first received or used to determine how well a specific ROM/Kernel/Mod works.
If you need any more explaining please let me know.
Oh god, a benchmark thread!!
What are you trying to accomplish with this app if you have both devices in hand.
Use them and you can see if one performs better. If you need an app to tell you that then surely there is no noticeable difference.

My SGN seems fastest in some games f.x. Temple Run.
So i wondered why the device with the lowest score, performed best in this game.
Now i know that benchmarks zre used for testing the performance of different roms on the same device (if i understood you correctly)

quadrant means nothing. literally. there are hacks to the kernel that can skew the results heavily.
Quadrant is not a reliable result. Can't find some dev's comment that put it perfectly...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
I hate how quadrant combines everything. Most of your score is I/O port speed.
Quadrant really needs to break down each benchmark separately and compare them better (ex: CPUvsCPU ). Overall it seems pretty comparable to the Nexus if you try to match up what counts. Looking at it, Tab has a slower processor, faster GPU, faster port IO, and comparable 2D. Nothing we didn't know already comparing our Nexus chips with the Tegra 2.

Yes, you used a benchmark.
You do not want to use a benchmark, for they are unreliable and full of crap. (I needed a few years until I fully understood this, too)
The main purpose of "multimedia benchmarks" is to make you want to buy a newer, faster device with a higher benchmark score.
If your device feels fast enough, it is fast enough.
STOP USING FREAKING BENCHMARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jeez....
If you put the gov. on performance or ondemand you can easily get the score in the 3k with the GN.
Also, benchmarks don't mean anything.
It's like saying that 1000hp Bugatti can go around a track faster than the Ferrari 458 because it has 400+ more horsepower. It just doesn't. The Bugatti may perform faster, but it doesn't quite move like the 458...get it?
Horrible comparison btw.

Because quadrant is horribly unreliable. It is comically unreliable. Reviewers don't even use it anymore and have long since moved to better benchmarks. Quadrant's flaws are heavily documented and go waaaaay back. The most notable major criticism of Quadrant was from Cyanogen some 2 years ago:
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/23/my-quadrant-is-bigger-than-your-quadrant/
http://briefmobile.com/cyanogen-demonstrates-quadrants-flaws
Quadrant has not improved since then.
Well firstly you thought wrong when you bought your nexus as the galaxy s 2 is much much faster than the nexus so there was your first problem, second I would probably expect the galaxy tab to be faster as the nexus is a slow device and thirdly you are using benchmarks.
I'd do more research in future.before buying phones and tablets and would of bought galaxy s 2 for speed and Asus transformer prime for a tablet.

That 1.7ghz clock speed. Can't even imagine how many times your cpu was throttled during those tests. To OP don't use benches as trying to guage the performance standard of your device. Gnex delivers a nearly flawless user experience when it comes to UI, browsing and gaming.

Hello, lads! 'Names Abdi, and i'm new here to the xda forums. I'm looking for a new phone, done with my S1. After long search, I've narrowed it down to these 2 phones. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy SII HD LTE from Bell Mobility. Before we start this face off, let me list some of my requirements for a smartphone:
Need microSD. I have a large music library (over 13 GB).
Need Gorilla Glass.
Need good camera.
As you guys can tell, these are all areas the Galaxy Nexus does not do well in. But here comes the catch, and this may help you with your arguments. The GS2 HD LTE has little developer support. Only 2 working roms on xda right now.
*Keep in mind: The GS2 HD LTE in this picture is not the one I'm looking at buying. This one is the international version. I am looking at the Bell Mobility version. They are basically the same phone, except for a little hardware differences. Same specs and all. Here is a picture of the Bell phone: http://www.technobuffalo.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/20120418_C6680_PHOTO_EN_12455-625x1024.jpg *
WIN ME OVER.

Per your requirements, SGSII. GN has not expandable memory.
However, the GN development is huge and its a very important aspect unless your are planning rocking stock firmware.
In any case, I doubt you go through your ENTIRE music library every week, month or whatever it may be. If you're like many, you won't often find yourself re-listening 75% of your library.
Consider Spotify or another streaming service which allows for offline playlists with no commitment to store all your tunes on your device.
Camera-wise. When it comes to mobile phones, the megapixel count hardly ever makes a difference and it should not be used solely to judge the quality. I've found that all modern phones have very similar sensors, so the quality will be more or less the same throughout.
No Gorilla glass on the GN but just get a screen protector for it, it wont hurt anyone.

I have, you do need to turn SR off though since it doesn't calibrate high frequency properly. But every device differs, I may be able to clock it that high, yours might not. Although I don't notice any difference in terms of UI snappiness whatsoever compared to 1.2, the only difference you'll get is higher benchmark scores it seems.

Honestly to be completely serious, yes I know that the processor matters a lot but this is not that much of a difference and the biggest thing is that the gnex doesn't have any crappy skin over it! That Samsung phone probably has touch wiz which will probably make it lag more than the gnex. And of course, you get the latest updates

SR= Smart Reflex. It is how your phone manages clock speeds and respective voltage for each slot. You can manually undervolt or turn smart reflex on and it will undervolt for you. I think most uses here would say SR is recommended and should be left turned on.

The ultimate test !
I am using mine, i haven't had any issue with it. I take extra caution when charging. I don't fast charge, charge when i am awake and keep an eye on it. It doesn't even get warm when charging. The phone seems to be a winner. I will replace it when i can....but still i was told not until Oct 1! Like the other user, I can only wish to receive a replacement that is of the same user quality as the one i have now!

I'm using mine, I dont have any problems with it, it never gets up to past 38C fast charging 3.0 + intense gaming, performance is amazing no lag or shutter even in pornhub with multi window. I cant complain about anything with this unit, I'm afraid they would actually send me a device that doesn't run as well as this one. I love this damn thing!

AND, it's waterproof for when you accidentally forget to move the phone out of the blast radius when surfing Pornhub!
Still using mine, waiting for replacement, best smartphone I've ever had.
I do but I've taken some precautions....

Still using it with no issues.
Samsung UAE told me yesterday in a live chat, that it is safe to use it if I don't experience any issues...
Interesting, isn't it?
It is still the best phone I ever had...

Who is still using their Note 7 even though samsung told us to stop using and power down our phones? Im still using my Note 7 while waiting for my replacement but I'm a little concern now since I saw those news headline about Note 7 incidents one after another.
Are you still using your Note 7?

Every day.
I will wait patiently for the replacements.
My free 256GB memory arrives tomorrow.
I do not plan on jumping ship, IMHO Sammy has acquitted themselves quite nicely. T mobile as well.
The media and fans of other manufacturers have let themselves go.

Still happily using mine, runs like a top.
What is pornhub:highfive:
i am still using mine until t-mobile gets in the v20. then i will switch mine out. i only charge it during the day and luckily it doesn't really get hot during usage.
I don't believe i can best the comment the guy that did the porn hub test which by the way is impressive and reassures me I have a great phone. Currently I'm charging it and temp is about 31.6 C. On one hand I want to replace it, on the other hand I'm afraid the replacements will be tuned different. I game heavily on this with a case on and it doesn't get any warmer than any of my other Android powered phones I've had. Im impressed with this phone. I'm curious on where everyone's phones are running temp wise and how yer using the phone. Thanks guys.
love mine! planning to keep using it unless I can replace another exynos variant.
Still using mine though in the last few days its started showing some worrying trends with the battery just going from 40% 50% or 60% to 0% apart from that its running beautifully as others have said i hope the replacement runs as smooth.
I am now charging in a baking tray however just to be on the safe side and fast charge is off... i think first thing i will do is turn fast charge off on my replacement when i receive it as well. I cant see how it can be good for the battery in the long term.

What kind of issues did they warn you for? Cause in my mind I'm reading this like 'Well if it's not exploding then you can use it!' :')
People still using it might want to read/do this for extra peace of mind:

Hi all,
It has been almost 2 months since our Note 10 plus started rolling, and there have been many discussions about the difference in performance between the two variants (Exynos and Snapdragon). Therefore I decided to open this thread to get a better image of the real performance and benchmark results.
To start with me, I've got the Exynos dual sim version SM-n975F DS. The test used 4% of the battery (90% to 86%)

That is almost 100,000 more than what devices scored two months ago
Did Samsung improve anything with the updates? or did Antutu change their grading system?

Hi,
Antutu version 7.* vs 8.* (about 360k in previous version vs about 480k now...)
It was explained on their website 3D bench Vulkan 3.0 for GPU and a few other things changed about CPU, can't find the link right now, the first Play Store update detailed the changes... so nothing about Samsung side, only Antutu side about the score differences from algorithm changes.

Oh, wow! The Note 10+ is aging well, just like a good wine. I predict that it will go over 600k in the next ver. of antutu
Btw, I opened similar thread way back in August and made a short vid with N10+ vs S10e going head-to-head:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10+/how-to/galaxy-note-10-vs-s10e-head-to-head-t3959625
It would be interesting to know if there is a significant difference in Performance against a Note with a custom Rom and different kernel, that gives an idea About how crucial the role of Software is.
Did anyone root their Note 10 plus?

I don't know if you know, but there is no general consensus about the worthiness of antutu score as a scientific method of performance determinations
it's used mostly for bragging rights, though I sympathize with the exynos phone owners for being upset about an unfair deal on part of Samsung.
and here it it is, my N10+ antutu bench ver.8.0.3:
lol sure not, it's not about bragging, we're not kids overall. I really want to know in numbers how hardware and software differences contribute to the overall performance of the device
This is what I got for shtz and giggles:

You get a score higher than SD; how is that possible? is it rooted?
Not gonna download that Antutu again :') But my Geekbench 5 results are coherent with the ones I used to get with Pie. My battery life and system responsiveness has improved noticeably tough.
