Whatsapp wakelocks - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Ok so in 10 hours 18 mins my 90% batteru was used. The only thing i was able to pinpoint was that phone was awake for most of the time. As my sot is less than 3 hours. So i checked with wakelock detector and it shows that whatsapp kept my phone awake for almost 8 hours.. Can anybody explain this wakelock and give any solutions??
Wakelock: AlarmService#updateNtp
And one more thing i cant seem to find the option of adding the image in the post can anyone also help me with that too..
Thanks

oh dear "android os"...why my battery?

I am a happy owner of HOX. everything seems to be perfect except the battery drain..
Either Android OS or Android system consumes battery like hell...
After charging the phone for 100%, i just unplugged it and after 30 mins battery was 73%...and battery temperature was freaking 50C which is like 120C for batteries!!!!! I restarted the phone which made the temperature worse...then after few mins again restarted and now the phone is going in deep sleep..this has happened many times and surprisingly batterystats says there is no specific culprit..just Android OS or Android system.
I read somewhere that it is actually Android bug and google are trying to fix it..but why does it happens randomly? And this problem normally happens when battery is fully charged...
btw i am on ViperX 3.3.8 and on stock kernel
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank You
Rom? Kernel?
ROM kernel details updated on 1st post...btw viperx3.3.8 with stock kernel
This is also happening to me Im also using viper 3.3.8 on the kernel provided by Venom, Im gussing its a bug on 3.3.8

Thanks for trying to help but I have already mentioned in the thread that it is not saying which app is causing problem..just Android OS and below that Android system
Heres the easy way out, look at my signature, open the link , there you'll see the guide for ultimate battery on HoX , And also there is a link for WAKELOCKS guide. If you do decide to follow my guide but before that check your wakelocks i ensure you that you'll be hiting minimum 5 hrs screen time with heavy usage ( no gaming )
Today's usage as recorded few hrs ago...
total 4h 37m on battery from 100% down till 43%...3 mins data on only..onle 1 call..2 texts..thats all..wth...will be posting screenshots soon..

Sorry I thought you were talking about the stock battery stats. Have you looked at the kernel wakelocks and partial wakelocks sections? That's where you'll get the most useful information.

[APP] Deep Sleep Battery Saver

Hello folks,
I came across this app which basically forces your phone into deep sleep mode when not in use( screen off). It turns data, wifi off etc. And wakes phone on in every half hour or other intervals you choose to check email etc. It does not do much when you are using the phone but saves a lot of battery when the phone is not being used.
I am using CM10 alpha 6 and it works great for the time being. I highly recommend it for people having battery issues.
If you want to try go to google play and search for "deep sleep battery saver".
My first impressions are really good.Just wanted to share...
Edit: Here is the link for play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rootuninstaller.batrsaver
Here is the link for the xda-version thread where you can get .apk
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030696

as your recommended, we would appreciate if you include a playstore-link of the application
so we can download the right apps directed form your link easier,
and most users here use their mobile or tapatalk to access the xda forums
thank you
Link is added on the first post.
Apparently there is also free xda version of the app which includes paid options. There is a thread created by the developer on xda but since I am on my phone right now, I cant find the link. But a google search will lead you there.
EDIT: Link for xda version is also added for your convenience.

That is the point. It just wakes every once in a while (30, 45, 60 minutes etc. you define) and get all sorts of notifications etc. There will be delays for notifications. It is a price to pay for a dramatic increase in battery life. If you want to be notified immediately for a facebook, twitter etc., then this is not for you.
Now I can get around 30 hours of battery life easily. Before my battery used to die in about 17 hours or so. So the choice is up to you..

Yeah sometimes I got that issue too. So what I am trying now is to leave Data connection alone but stopping apps. I will see if battery life is still good.

Am on the official 4.3 getting better battery performance at the moment. Maybe it was because i rooted the 4.1.2 before?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
Try this app
Deep Sleep Battery Saver Pro or Deep Sleep Battery Saver
OR
update to the new version dr ketan v6 is now available
install BBS and see which wakelocks causing the battery drain.
can you specify more detail about how fast your battery drain? any background apps is running? Some time it is depend on how user use the phone. Like me everyday i charge me phone for 1 time and my wifi is on more or less 8 hours and play some social apps. For me it is reasonable
Quick method

Quick Method :
1. Turn off data & wifi and check drain for 8 hrs. If you find its much better check individual apps that connect to internet and see which is consuming more juice.
If not :
2. Instal wakelock detector & post the screenshot here.
can u tell tha estimetad time drining the batt? before and after drketan rom

Best Battery Saving ROM/Mod/Anything?

I am on OOS 3.2.7 Stock Root Xposed.
By the time passes, the battery performance is getting fu**ed up. Its losing around 10% overnight with everything off. Earlier it was less than 5%.
Whats the best ROM/Mod/any way to improve battery performance? Even though we have Dash Charging, There is no point charging phone twice a day with moderate usage.
Use force doze? Maybe a CPU profile? Greenify? Amplify? Have you checked your wakelocks?
PowerNap, Amplify, Greenify, ForceDoze. These are the best, they helped me a lot... Also, try using the HawkPepper profile :good:

Force Doze can be used with xposed, u don't need a custom kernal for a CPU profile but I recommend it to you, anyways try and see what happends.
I am using FreedomOS with ElementalX kernel (without any profiles atm).
Used to get SoT around 3-3.5 hrs prior to flashing the ElementalX kernel, now I almost consistently get 4.5-5 Hrs SoT.
I have noticed a bit of noticeable lag while gaming but its an acceptable tradeoff for me. The kernel has some profiles that you can use with their app - I have heard people getting crazy SoTs using them.

Thanks. I just installed Force Doze. I will see how it goes.
I dont like putting all my social apps frozen though. I had RedMi Note 3G before this with same 3K battery. It used to last 1.5-2 days easily. OP3 is way better only apart the battery and Camera issues.
Thanks again!

No, sadly I haven't yet tried Boeffla. Yup sure go ahead, I have coupled it with Naptime by Francisco Franco to keep apps from causing wakelocks. The deep-sleep time is almost a flat line thanks to this app.

Should I even bother using Greenify?

I used to use Greenify when I had my Xperia Z3, but I don't know if I should keep it on my 5T, and if it affects performance or not (ex. reopening apps draining more battery or apps taking more time to open).
I have the 8 GB model, so I don't have any RAM problem.
Lately I've decided to try not using any battery "optimizer". I'm currently on OOS B2 with Flash Kernel 3.0..1 and I can easily get nearly two days if battery life with a "normal" use with around 4hrs of screen on time and 1~1.5% per hour while on idle overnight.
So, I think that overall that's not worth messing with Greenify. IMHO
About performances, in theory having to relaunch apps that have been terminated by Greenify would have some inpact on that. Guess that would be quite low, being the device so fast!
My advice would be see how it goes as it is and then try installing Greenify and see if you notice any improvement.
My two cents.

Greenify only hibernate apps, not terminate.
I use Greenify for Facebook and Messenger as they drain a lot of power. I would simply check your battery stats if there are apps that use a lot of power without active usage. If so, Greenify then. If not, it probably doesn't make a huge difference.
Greenify is no matter what, a must download app for me.. Until V30+ and OP5T.. Didn't need it anymore, because I didn't notice a different between installed it and not..
This is an easy one. No.
Deep sleep and idle battery drain seem pretty good on the OP5T so far, I wouldn't bother.
I still use it, nothing related to performance but because I personally do not need some of my apps to run in background. I only use them when I open them so I can save a bit of battery by keeping them hibernated until the next use.

As long as I have good cell signal, I can routinely get 8hrs of SoT with the stock One plus kernel from OpenBeta2. I do use Greenify for the social media apps though. Greenify will basically tell you if it will help or not by displaying apps that it thinks will benefit from hibernating. Although, if you aren't rooted, it basically isn't worth installing.

I'm just asking because I use Amplify, Greenify and Android's built-in battery saver and Android OS still drains A LOT, and by a lot I mean that I can get 3 hours SoT with amoled themes on.
