So I'm trying to flash a ROM but GApps.zip is not installing through TWRP. The error says something like E: Could not find 'META-INF.... update'
What can I do?
Which gapps are you using? There's only a few that are arm64, sdk 23-ready. I'd suggest the ones listed in the Pure NeXus thread.

Well, i'm trying to update nightly rom to the new stable Cyaogen Mod 7. After I download the new rom and gapps via Rom Manager it reboots, it goes..
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (Invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed

I don't know what's wrong the update.zip file it's in my SD card so I don't have any idea why it failed. Any ideas on how I can get this to work?
Try updating rom manager from the market, then in rom manager flash the latest clockwork recovery and proceed with flashing the rom.
An error occurred while downloading your recovery.

It won't let me download the latest clockwork.. It said that 4 times.
At the top of the screen click on "Flash Clockworkmod Recovery" and then click on your phone model. Don't try to download the older versions from the bottom.
Do you have the latest ROM Manager from the Market? I would get the same message as you until I downloaded the latest ROM Manager.

This happened to me as well, and i'm pretty sure the latest ROM Manager version fixed it. So that gets my vote.

Do you try to boot into Recovery through Rom Manager or through CM power options? If through CM, you have to choose apply update.zip to go into clockwork. If through Rom Manager, try flashing and older clockwork recovery. Hope this helps.
I can install ANY rom (cm10.1, Omega 9.1, Revolution 6.0, etc) except for Stock. I tried via CWM, TWRP, adb sideload and Odin. I also tried 3 different .zips (Greek, French DLL4 and DLL7).
I always get the same error:
E: Can't open rom.zip (bad) Installation aborted
Very frustrating.. help?
Have you made sure the rom files are complete? Check the MD5 for each rom u downloaded
Indeed.looks like a bad download.

Hi,
difficult to believe 3 zips are corrupted. As far as remember (but not sure as I didn't flash for a long time), if you downloaded them from samfirmware, you can't flash them through recovery: you need to unzip them first before flashing xxx.tar.md5 as PDA with odin.

hi what stock file are you trying to flash ?
and are you using oding to flash the file ?
Hi guys
I'm having some trouble with my HOX. I`m currently running a rooted droid running android revolution 33.1. I have CWM 6.0.3.2 as my current recovery and am trying to update to 6.0.4.8 so I can put slimkat 9.0 on my HOX. As I understand it the slimkat rom requires SELinux support for the rom to run and the latest version of CWM has this.
I have tried flashing the update using flashify and rom manager. Both say they have flashed correctly, however when i boot into recovery my version is still the current one im running. I have also tried using fastboot to flash the new recovery and it keeps coming up with "unknown error" in windows CMD. I have also tried apply update.zip from the recovery and i keep getting the error message "E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip no such file or directory". And the zip file i made is just called "recovery" and NOT "recovery.zip". I know this has caused trouble for other people, so this was the first thing I checked.
So I have a few questions. These are: Why fastboot won't flash the new recovery/why I get the error message "E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip no such file or directory"/ would i have to revert to stock rom and recovery and relock so I could re root the HOX and install the latest recovery.
Any and all help is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Have you sorted this? For me the problem was that I followed an old online tutorial that gave me an old version of cmw recovery. Once I'd flashed the new version it worked. Took me a while to figure out though.
I've downloaded the following from oneplus.net: OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_013_all_1608061823_765c081a5c8e4dad.zip
I have confirmed with md5 the zip.
I cannot install this using TWRP 3.0.2-1; I'll get error 7, then after attempting to reboot TWRP will tell me that there is no OS installed. Am I using the correct TWRP?
To install OxygenOS 3.2.4 I have to sideload via official recovery.
Error 7 is quite common. But I got it while I was trying to flash other rom. In that case, you wipe all except internal, and then flash rom etc
I've tried that; multiple times. Same thing.
