Hello,
I have a fairly new samsung S3 on AT&T. The phone is rooted and the new jellybean update applied.
Everything has been fine until this morning it started showing "UNFORTUNATELY, NFC SERVICE HAS STOPPED".
I can hit OK and it goes away but within 5 seconds it's back. It is making my phone unusable.
I went into titanium backup and froze all NFC services - that didn't help anything.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Not just yet - I'm reflashing the jellybean rom at the moment to see if it works after that.
Same thing after rom flash. Argh!

that fine that you reflash but go in to 3e Recovery by holding down Power+Vol Up+Home until you see the blue writing in the top left corner of the screen. Then let go. From there Factory Reset/ Wipe Device (Warning this will wipe data/pictures). Then Reboot.

About to do a TI backup ... otherwise once I wipe it will take me forever to get this phone set up again.
Then I will wipe the phone. Ack. Thanks for the suggestion.

Whenever you have issues like this. It is best to Wipe. Not really any way around that. I am willing to bet this will resolve all issues.

Well you were definitely right - thanks for the help!
Ti Backup couldn't back up with the error popping up like crazy - so I wiped the device, re-rooted, and now I'm restoring from an older Ti Backup.
Hopefully it won't take me too much longer to get all set up.
Thanks again for the help!

I'm having the same issue, but wipe does not work, I am unable to turn the phone on really, it just gets to Welcome screen, where you choose your language, followed by Unfortunately, S Note has stopped, I press ok, then Unfortunately, NFC as stopped, and it does a few others and then repeats, over and over.
How can I fix?

Well, I never had this happen, so try this:
1: BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP. Nobody wants to lose data.
2: Grab the CyanogenMod you want (I recommend the latest, based on Nougat, catching cats is another reason)
3. Grab Odin, I have a copy BUT my computer is out of commission (Using my Pi 3 )
4. GET A RELIABLE USB CABLE. Any issues can make you own a Samsung brickwich.
5. Flash CM using Odin, and also flash TWRP for good luck.
Done, and hope it works.
This app shows that it is using 17% of my battery. I have tried freezing, uninstalling, and denying root access to it, but still shows up as taking that much battery. Anyone know how to stop it from draining battery?
I was rooted on 5.0.1 using pingpong root, but don't recall that app draining any battery.
That's tmobile's root checking app, I think the only way to stop it is to disable or uninstall all the tmobile bloat, all of it.
Maybe then it will go away.
Also report and diagnostic info needs to be turned off in settings / privacy and safty.
Pp.

Use titanium to delete it you don't need it
is an APP?, a custom rom ?, a root program ?

If you havent figured it out yet, try opening up titanium backup app and select the magnifying glass at the top to search and then type in com.tmobile.pr.adapt and freeze or uninstall from there. That worked for me.

So you're not rooted and you're having this issue? That's strange, yeah I really don't know how to get rid of it in that case. Maybe you should try downloading samsung smart switch software to your PC and use it to reset your phone, hopefully fixing the issue. Did you try that yet?
Unrooting as far as I know can't be done without doing a factory reset or flashing the stock factory image through Odin, so it's better to just try using smartswitch first. Just make sure to back up all of your data on your PC first, because I think smart switch may wipe your storage.

Yeah try using smart switch. It will take longer but it is more recommended. Also, I recommend you backup any files you have on your phone before using smartswitch because I don't remember if it wipes your storage or not.

ok, i root to unlock, then i reinstall stock firmware throw odin, reading what you say am still root, smart switch fails (cause i am root ?), how can i unroot safe ?, cause smart switch fails
I'm a little confused. So you tried smart switch and it failed? That means that you either are rooted now or were rooted at some point. If smart switch fails then the only other way is to Odin the stock firmware which will factory reset and unroot your phone. If you're familiar with Odin just download the stock tar file from the first page in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3144105
First boot into recovery pressing volume up+home+power and do a wipe data factory reset from there (assuming you have stock recovery). Then boot into download mode pressing vol down+home+power while phone is off and Flash stock through Odin and you will be factory reset and unrooted for sure as long as your device is a T-Mobile s6 edge 925T model. That should make your com.tmobile.pr.adapt battery drain go away as well.
Keep in mind that the tar file in the link is the stock 5.1.1 firmware so it will update you to 5.1.1 if you weren't already. Also this will wipe your data for sure so back that up to your PC before you do anything.
ok, i change computer, and smart switch works, how ever com.tmobile.pr.adapt still there :/
Hmm I'm really not sure after that honestly, I thought that would fix it for you. I've only had the com.tmobile issue while being rooted so I really don't know how to get rid of it without root and using titanium. Maybe someone else can weigh in and offer some advice..
TB only works to delete /remove if your rooted.
Pp.
ok, i fix it (i guess), first i reinstall firmware throw smart switch (fails on windows, so i use my mac), then i install Package Disabler (play store), and i choose all tmobile apps, including com.tmobile.pr.adapt, all with out being root, at the moment my battery improves a lot, 98% baterry on standy after 2 hours (1 % per hour), and before, like 10% per hour
Hi guys please help, i can't do it anything. i tried with Disable HW overlays but is not working.
I tried with wipe cache partition from Recovery Mode, but i cant see the screen in the best way (vertical bands, discoloration)

Not sure u have this problem. Maybe hardware or software.
If software, try downloading the full 184 firmware and flash in twrp again. The flash supersu, and whatever etc. See if its the same.
If not, try factory reset.
Still cannot, then hardware

My congrats for the great autonomy ?
The info you've sent are not enough to analyze your reboot issues.
1) Have you rooted your device?
2) If yes, are you running SuperSU, Kingroot, Phh's Superuser? What version?
3) What the apps that are getting root permissions?
4) Are you using Xposed? What version (e.g. v86.6 systemless with Magisk v8, the v86 stock)?
5) Have you tweaked or replaced the stock kernel?

You should try factory reset asap, there's nothing you may do, since device is completely stock and works for most users.

Not, because OOS is working well for most users, so there is no "fix reboot issues" in any todo list.
Go with factory reset, when you find the needed time.
If problems still persist, contact OnePlus and explain the issue.
I think that some upgrade maybe the cause of your troubles, due to massive change of stuff that the end-users can never see.
You know that Samsung updates often make device slower or keep crashing some system app?
Why excluding that OnePlus have done (involuntary) the same?
Updates are not always guarantee of stability, especially with firmware different than Google stock.

Are you using a case? I had a cheap eBay clear case on my phone and it wasn't moulded properly over the power button, there was no indent on the inside for the button to sit in so it used to turn off in my pocket and back on later and produced battery graphs similar to yours.
Hope this is a help.

Did your problem solved? I am having same problem.
I have the same problem. I am currently on 3.2.8 and also had this problem on beta 9. Few days ago it happened in front of me, the phone was on the desk nothing running in the background. That was kind of the soft reboot, didn't triggered my locked sim, (my sim card is locked needs to enter PIN when phone startup) and after that I checked Settings=>About Phone=>Status, the uptime didn't affected too, seemed nothing was happened. I think this also happened to some other people but they just didn't realize it.

Try using non 4G/LTE SIMS.
I am facing the same problem.
My device is at service center.
Day one:No reboots.I asked them to put some SIM & then check.
I did that after reading your post. No luck. Are they replacing it? How many days since it is in service center?
Facing problem from last 2 weeks.
I submitted once last week. They clean flashed older rom.Worked fine for one day, then reboots started again.
Then this technician had remote session and flashed the rom OnePlus3_16_A.17_161118(OOS 3.2.8):Reboot frequency went too high.
Had to go to Service center for diagnose. 2 days now.No proper response from them.
I had the same issue from several days now, wiped cache, did factory reset, wiped data, nothing worked, I read somewhere that let battery drain down to 0 and then full charge removes electricity or static from the phone, and that may cause random reboots, gonna try that

Seriously? That sounds like one of those hilarious Microsoft Answers sort of posts! Running the battery down will not get rid of "electricity or static from the phone", apart from anything else the battery protection circuit would not allow the battery to drop to zero volts as it's not good for li-on batteries.
The Oneplus 3 seems to like to soft restart, mine sometimes decides to do it 3-4 times a night (rarely during the day) and then is fine for awhile. Tell tale sign is the battery graph showing large gaps in the usage pattern. I would suggest that there is an inherent firmware issue judging by the number of people reporting the same issue on a number of different forums.
Hello, Good Day to all! I wont take too much of your time but please help me!
My Oneplus 3 suddenly bricked itself, I dont know how or why but it just powered off and then when I tried to boot it up it was hard bricked. Now I've managed to fix it by following the Mega Unbrick guide for Oneplus 3 and it boots up, but the problem is it crashes during boot, and it randomly crashes after a few minutes which then leads to the boot logo crash, I have to "let it rest" so to speak for a few minutes so that it would bypass the boot crashes. Once it got past the crashes some apps are not responding like Twitter, Messenger and so on. Stock apps are fine it's the newly downloaded ones that are not responding, I tried numerous factory resets using the stock recovery and TWRP but no luck.
I am on Nougat 7.1.1 on the latest OxygenOS version, Unlocked bootloader with systemless root. I haven't tried flashing a custom rom the only thing I tried to flash was the Stock Rom. I also noticed that the WiFi and the Data/Signal was particularly weaker since the messages would not load, I need to actually check the app for it to sync. When I got Messenger somehow working, the messages would not even load up.
Any ideas what the problem is? Any help is deeply appreciated, Thanks in Advance!

This sounds like an hardware issue, have you tried method 2 of the unbrick tool, perhaps you could try to re-download it, have you unzipped it? If it boots let it boot and then upgrade to a new OOS version and then you can do whatever you want. If it doesn't work after you followed my suggestions you might wanna contact Oneplus, don't worry even though your bootloader is unlocked you still have full warranty..

I did the method 2 of the unbrick tool, I've done it like twice or thrice now. I have the latest version of OOS, I am afraid to flash a custom rom because after it flashes in TWRP it immediately crashes, it does not even give me a chance to clear the dalvik or reboot. It crashes no reboot or anything.
But thank you I didn't expect anyone would reply well I regained my faith in humanity in forums
Sidenote: What custom rom would you suggest? or is the stock rom better?
