Touch screen not responding - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, the original problem was that the front-facing camera was blurry. I unscrewed the 14 screws and took out the plastic cover. First, i tried to remove the battery and noticed that i had to remove the speaker and the microphone below first.
I lifted the motherboard slightly and got to the front facing camera. I cleared it. Then i re screw the screws. I turn it on. Everything is working, it recognizes the sim, the audio and audio keys are working fine but the touch screen doesn't respond. I mean, it shows everything but doesn't recognize my fingers.
I think i moved some small connector when trying to move the battery.
Any ideas guys?

Looks like you need to take apart again and see if you forgot tore-connect anything.
I'd actually go to youtube and see if there's a pulling part video so you can then verify you haven't forgotten anything...

[Q] Screen not working after opening back panel

Hi everyone.
So Ive been having problems with my glide keyboard being loose. everything else was working fine tho. today it completely fell off, only the screen cable/ribbon were holding the two pieces together. so i decided to take apart the back panel and reattach the keyboard. a few screws to take take out and put in. a simple fix right? wrong! after finding the screws to replace the missing ones that caused the keyboard to fall away, and putting everything back in place... THE SCREEN WOULDNT TURN ON! the phone did light up and vibrate but the screen is completely not alive. i took everything apart again and even double checked the screen connection, tried again and lo, the screen still wasnt working...
i dont know what to do....is there a possibility that i damaged the ribbon, or i need to reset something... what could be wrong?
been searching for fixes all day and came up with nothing... any help would be appreciated :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
ribbon
Try to change the ribbon if it's not that expensive. Maybe because of the stress on it, it went bad.
The ribbon cable is around 60$ us, i broke mine trying to replace my ear speaker

What was the result? I have the same issue and replaced both screen and ribbon but the display does not light. Only the lower shortcut lights up (home, search, back etc.).

G Sensor not functioning

Moved from General:
I made an attempt to replace my cracked Silver Bezel on my T999L that I purchased from eBay, (http://www.ebay.com/itm/400733714927?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT)
I realized that I did not have the proper tools to complete the replacement due not having a Heat Gun to remove the Screen from the Silver Bezel which is quite literally in the middle of the phone.. I caused no visible damage, I gently removed the connectors, and the mother board, the camera and the light sensor with ease, photographing every single step so I remembered where each went where.. It was very simple, and I just realized I couldn't go any further.... Upon putting everything back together, I made a call, played some music, tested everything out and it looked ok....Until I tried to rotate it.. The phone will not rotate into Landscape unless I use an App to force it.. I tried calibrating the G sensor, but it sits in the center not moving, like there was no sensor at all.. Other than the G Sensor, the phone works perfectly..
What am I missing, and what can I do to repair this?
I have tried going into Download mode, and then pulling the battery for 30 mins,
I have also tried a factory reset, that didn't work.. I pulled it apart again to double check on the connections, all seated properly in place, nothing looks out of whack.. I have looked at about a Dozen Youtube videos and tear downs, and I used the proper pry tools, all looks good on the inside..
I'm about to flash VIA Oden the Stock 4.3 rom in hopes that may correct the issue, but I doubt that will do anything different.. What am I missing here?
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. The phone works just as it did, Except the Rotation..
I am wondering is my using a slightly magnetized mini screw driver may be the culprit, that causes the sensor not to work..
I flashed to the latest Version of Stock Jelly Bean, ran another Factory reset.. used a couple of calibration apps.. and Zippo..
I see this is a difficult or not answerable question, but where is the Rotating/Gyro Sensor located on the mother board?
I'm wondering if I can get a replacement board and install it..
Suggestions are always helpful..

Replace Battery Guide and Question,

I recently had to replace my battery in the m8. I managed to find a retailor online, ordered it, came with a install tool and double sided tape to replace the one used before for the speaker covers on top and bottom.
There is so little into on this online, I followed a YouTube video on replacing the digitizer of the phone to learn how to open the phone to replace the battery. I can say from experience its pretty easy, more intimating then anything after watching the video first. After applying heat to phone, I used a hair dryer. Of cource removing the screws that are found after removing the speaker covers that are removed after placing heat. The video I saw suggested guitar pics. I had none and have no idea where to find them. So I used some old credit cards, along with gift cards. The phone was pretty easy to remove from shell after heat. Where I screwed up, and its not mentioned in any videos I saw. THERE IS A SMALL RIBBON THAT SPLICES FROM ANOTHER LARGER RIBBON NEAR OR EXACT LOCATION OF AUDIO BUTTONS ON SIDE OF PHONE. I believe that when opening the phone from frame I may have ripped this ribbon by opening it with a credit card and ever so silently pushing the card upwards to remove the phone from the frame. After replacing the battery and replacing the phone in frame, on first boot my audio buttons don't work. I removed the phone from frame and that's when I noticed the small ribbon that wraps around the side of the phone easily ripple able when using anything along the side of the phone to remove the frame. It's not mentioned in any videos I watched on YouTube, so BEWARE. I'm hoping if anyone knows if this ribbon is replace able and maybe how it might be replaced?? Also if anyone can confirm this ribbon is used for audio connection to buttons?? After noticing the F.UP, I can see how each connector is used to hit the audio up and down but am still puzzled as to why it needs this ribbon I believe. Would think that the audio connection after receiving a hit on up or down would send whatever signal thru the phone onto a much larger ribbon to the motherboard which is on top of the battery. Yes its the same as a small ribbon connection, but I don't see the reason of needing this separate ribbon that appears is just for audio, spliced from a larger ribbon. So I'm hoping that someone can confirm that this is the intenal setup and yes this ribbon is for audio. So that I can maybe replace it, or at least stop me from trying to figure out other reasons of why. But I at least wanted to warn other people of this before they tried to replace the battery themselves. Also if you do replace it and after booting phone on either side it appears that you damaged the digitizer cause maybe one or two buttons don't work on keyboard. Its most likely cause the screws on the frame under speaker covers are to tight. I did that also and thought I broke the digitizer removing the battery. But after removing screw's and enter the booting up the phone with no screw's but in frame, all keyboard functions worked. I then screwed each screw in and applied pressure , then turned phone on to make sure it wasn't to much. Just don't tighting screws with phone booted on, believe you could get a static charge and screw up phone. Hope this guide and question helps anyone replacing battery. Mine failed after using custom ROMs on 5.1.1 , phone began to not stayed charged for more then a hour, also wouldn't even accept a charge. Tried all other fixes, calibrating battery and all. After replacing phone works fine accept for audio which is a pain in the A$$ cause can't manually boot to bootloader on boot by hand.

LG G3 D855 Screen Goes Black On ROM and Recovery

So this happened last August and still no luck to this day. What happened was I saw an update for Fulmics ROM which was at version 6.0 at the time and I was still running the previous version so I updated it and the installation was successful until the screen went black while I was browsing the net. At first I figured a clean install would solve things but the problem persisted up to this day. I tried other ROMs (both AOSP and Stock) and had no luck on either. There are some days when things seem to be working fine but then the screen just turns black on its own. I was able to download some apps and even use it for a time but the screen will just go black all of a sudden. I tried wiping the storage (internal and external) and still it goes black. I tried backing up the current "working" ROM I have which is an AOSP one but then during the backup the screen went black and the file is probably corrupted at this point. I also feel that even when it "turned off" there's still power in the phone since the battery becomes drained of its charge over time. I tried replacing the battery with a new one but it didn't solve things for me. Additionally, I encountered a weird part of the recovery wherein there's an orange background and white text which really surprised me like pressing detonate. Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you may be experiencing the lcd flickering/fading/dying issue some other users have experienced. It is a problem with the main board/connectors, and not the LCD itself. You can try an easy fix, but it may not be a permanent fix.
You'll need to take the back cover off of your phone and put some folded up tape or a label of some sort - something with a little thickness to it - on the rear camera connector; you can also put some on the front camera connector and the metal can that covers the processor chip, but the rear camera connector is the most important spot. Here's a pic with the spots labeled for you.

What you are looking to do is put enough - but not too much - tape on those spots to add a little pressure to the board when the rear cover goes back on & it is screwed back together. I've done this fix on a friend's phone and it has worked well, although I ended up having to do it again about 4-5 months later.
*Follow this G3 teardown guide to step 7, carefully/gently re-seat the connectors once for good measure(optional), and then put your tape on... https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/LG+G3+Screen+Replacement/33203
**Remember that when you put your back cover on and screws in that there is one shorter screw - it is labeled in step 4 of the teardown.

I followed the instructions by adding some paper/tape to the labelled areas. However, the phone now won't turn on. The last time I was able to boot it up was yesterday and it only went so far as the LG logo. The logo seemed off and broken, white lines were all over the place. I tried going to recovery but the phone just died afterwards. I tried charging it and the screen remained black but the phone gets warm specifically around the power button/volume rocker area. I was able to boot it up now and I managed to successfully install a ROM but the screen still goes black and then boot up again but I wasn't able to use the ROM. I tried entering recovery and sometimes, booting up the recovery is a success other times the screen will just go black before entering the recovery. I'm using TWRP 3.0.2 and when I tried to wipe/flash some ZIPs or just tweak some of the settings the phone will just freeze and vibrate so much to the point that the only way to stop it from vibrating is by removing the battery. What seems to be the problem in my phone? Is my phone bricked in any way?

Touch doesn't work after disassembly

Hello,
Today I disassembled my LG G4 to change the camera. I followed tutorials online and this is the second time I'm repairing this phone.
Previously I've repaired two other phones.
I disconnected all connectors (back and front cameras, display) removed the motherboard from the frame and put the new camera in.
After that I put the motherboard back and connected the things back. The device booted up fine but sadly the touch on the screen wasn't working.
Display worked fine, using a mouse and keyboard I even tested the new camera.
I disassembled and reassembled the device a few more times. The screen connector has no visible damage however the touch is not working no matter what.
I tried starting it without cameras connected, no change.
Any ideas? Am I missing something?

You can try cleaning all the internal connectors with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol but if that doesn't work and you're sure that all connectors are clean & solidly connected, you may have to replace the Touch Screen Digitizer (with frame) in order to solve.
Replacements aren't that expensive - google it for local supply or check out: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For...lgo_pvid=2fd011e4-25cc-4cd1-a57f-b7878b272ca7
Thing is I don't know if the problem is motherboard connector or screen ribbon.
