G Sensor not functioning - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Moved from General:
I made an attempt to replace my cracked Silver Bezel on my T999L that I purchased from eBay, (http://www.ebay.com/itm/400733714927?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT)
I realized that I did not have the proper tools to complete the replacement due not having a Heat Gun to remove the Screen from the Silver Bezel which is quite literally in the middle of the phone.. I caused no visible damage, I gently removed the connectors, and the mother board, the camera and the light sensor with ease, photographing every single step so I remembered where each went where.. It was very simple, and I just realized I couldn't go any further.... Upon putting everything back together, I made a call, played some music, tested everything out and it looked ok....Until I tried to rotate it.. The phone will not rotate into Landscape unless I use an App to force it.. I tried calibrating the G sensor, but it sits in the center not moving, like there was no sensor at all.. Other than the G Sensor, the phone works perfectly..
What am I missing, and what can I do to repair this?
I have tried going into Download mode, and then pulling the battery for 30 mins,
I have also tried a factory reset, that didn't work.. I pulled it apart again to double check on the connections, all seated properly in place, nothing looks out of whack.. I have looked at about a Dozen Youtube videos and tear downs, and I used the proper pry tools, all looks good on the inside..
I'm about to flash VIA Oden the Stock 4.3 rom in hopes that may correct the issue, but I doubt that will do anything different.. What am I missing here?
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. The phone works just as it did, Except the Rotation..

I am wondering is my using a slightly magnetized mini screw driver may be the culprit, that causes the sensor not to work..
I flashed to the latest Version of Stock Jelly Bean, ran another Factory reset.. used a couple of calibration apps.. and Zippo..
I see this is a difficult or not answerable question, but where is the Rotating/Gyro Sensor located on the mother board?
I'm wondering if I can get a replacement board and install it..
Suggestions are always helpful..

TouchScreen stopped working on FROYO

been through several reboots and taking battery out and resetting the phone. cant figure out if its hardware or software related thats making the touchscreen stop working. i tried going back to Winmo and still touchscreen isnt working. i think the phone got a little wet the day it stopped working, but was in my pocket all day. (not drenched... my pants were just damp). anyway when android boots up i get this...
no irqf_trigger set_type function for irq 190 (kaisergpio)
msm_i2c msm_i2c.0: error waiting for notbusy
would this be something that i could replace and it still work? ive tried taking out the battery and holding down the power button to discharge the phone compeletely. i am running dzo's froyo and the latest 7_26 kaiser nbh. i removed the overclock and nothing seems to help. this is the part i was looking at (http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-8925-Tilt-TyTN-II-Kaiser-LCD-Digitizer-Touch-Screen-/170469159819?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27b0c0f38b)
any help is appriciated
It does sound like a touchscreen failure, and moisture is the biggest cause of mobile phone failures, believe me, my workplace can get as many as 230 mainboards a day from repair facilities, most are obvious liquid damaged, and we wash them, dry them and send them back.
However lcd's and touchscreen are a totally different matter, you cannot wash them, that destroys them, so the only thing that can be done is replacement usually.
The link looks to me to be a full kaiser replacement screen assembly, and at a good price too, but be aware that the problem may be the connector itself, where the screen joins the flexi, since most often moisture affects these rather than anything else, due to the small gaps between the pins which are perfect for shorting out when they get wet, if you remove the screen carefully, and closely examine the connectors they may have a fine greyish furry coating, if so a light brush with fine bristle brush should get rid of most of the short, allowing it to work again, if you are going to be disassembling the phone to fix the screen, it's worth trying this first.
You could also try putting the phone in a warm place for a day before doing this, just to make sure it's completely dry.
Got the same problem on froyo, but I didn't got it wet. It looks like there's something bad with froyo, but I don't know what exactly. I think getting back to the stock firmware would help. I will try it tomorrow, because my USB socket is broken for a long bit of time, so I was flashing from SD card, but my reader broke too :/
I had the same problem with touchscreen on froyo with the same errors. I thought my kaiser was going dead, but helps me taking battery out. Now everything is ok.

faulty screen/digitiser

Yesterday, I was just using my phone when the touchscreen suddenly stopped responding in one area. Its a bout a 2m wide strip running across the phone in portrait mode which does not respond. Originally I thought it might have been something to with the custom rom I installed last week so I completely wiped the phone and reset it to stock rom. I then ran the service test via *#*#7378423#*#* and ran a touchscreen test. This sowed me exactly where the digitiser was unresponsive.
The strange thing is that it sometimes works but more often than not there is a defined area where it just will not respond. Anyone know what the exact problem is?
By the sounds of it, you probably need to replace your digitizer. You could try taking it apart and try checking the digitizer's connection. Mine ended up getting loose, and the screen ended up being unresponsive unless it was tilted a specific way. If you need a guide on taking it apart, there are some fantastic guides on youtube detailing the disassembly process.
i am having the same problem..... replacing the flex cable will tell you if it works. Hold tight

Galaxy note 3 proximity sensor issue Fix (when making calls)

Hello!
A month ago I had an issue when all of a sudden, when I was on a phone call and separated my Note 3 from my ear (to check the time as an ex,), the screen would stay black and the proximity sensor wouldn't work. It was very annoying (to me anyways) as I believe in having a phone working 100%. Honestly...I thought it was ROM and/or kernel related, but it's not. Doing some research here in XDA, I found several members of this community (Sprint Note 3 to be specific) experiencing the same issue. Apparently, it's dust affecting the proximity sensor making it unresponsive.
Long story short, one member said that he fixed his Note 3 by blowing air into the earpiece where the sensor is located. I thought the worse about the guy (lol) thinking it was a crazy idea...BUT, I said, "WTH...let me try it" and sure enough, it FREAKING worked!!! My Note 3 was working properly again!
That very same day, on Google +, I came across this article http://www.infotales.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3-proximity-sensor-issue-fix where the author "YASIR MIRZA" wrote an AWESOME article with this particular issue. He goes real deep into the subject and has 2 different methods more in depth about fixing the issue.
I will NOT maintain this thread since I don't have time. I'm only posting this here because I think it's the right place "Q&A", plus maybe if someone has the issue (like I had), by doing SEARCH (like I did), this thread will pop up and maybe help!!!
READING IT'S FUNDAMENTAL... SO READ FROM THE LINK I'VE PROVIDED WHERE IT HAS MUCH MUCH MUCH USEFUL INFORMATION!
HIT THAT "THANK YOU" BUTTON IF I HELPED OR YOU FIND THIS USEFUL!!! IT DOESN'T BITE...lol
That is a really good and thorough article. While I have not had any proximity sensor issues (yet), people who have will certainly appreciate the how-to. It is for a rooted device, though.
This is all great info, but it doesn't address the core issue which I gather from reading, is dust obscuring the sensor. I'm assuming this will recalibrate the sensor partly covered by dust, but If the dust got on the sensor once, there is pretty good chance it will get there again and change calibration? So how to stop it from getting there in the first place would be my concern, especially because so far my sensor works fine. Maybe solution should be to seal headphone jack, (if that's the culprit) which personally I rarely use, with some rubber insert, easy to remove if needed? And there is another opening (microphone?) right next to it, could that be a way inside as well?
As my phone's not rooted, nor have any compressed air handy, I opted to physically clean the sensor.
It's pretty simple and straightforward (the teardown videos are on youtube). Basically, you just unscrew the back casing and remove the sensor. Then either wipe the sensor window or use a tape to stick up the dust.
Before cleaning my readings were 105 and not working. After cleaning it went down to 40 and has been working ever since. Blowing the dust may simply dislodge it moved it around, having a chance of it finding its way back whereas cleaning it removes it altogether until some new dust finds its way back onto the window.

I just fixed my proximity sensor problem by doing a tear down and cleaning the dust out from the screen in front of the sensor also. Fairly easy to do.
i9100 proximity sensor doesn't work
Hi to all!
I have the issue with proximity sensor and didn't manage to find a solution in other similar threads!
The matter is that it is always stay as Released.
In the same time in test screen (*#0*#) there are changing reading for PROXIMITY parameter from 2 up to 240 with no ADC parameter at all. Please look for screenshots. PROXIMITY parameter changes its value when I move my finger in front of the sensor, but as I can understand Android doesn't recognize it because of ADC absence.
Moreover I tried to change proximity sensor for working one (from another phone), but it shows the same as mine (with no ADC readings).
After all I think it is software problem, but I don't know how to solve it. I flashed different firmwares (now it is XWMSE NeatROM v.6.4), but nothing helped.
Please assist! Thanks!
Hands-free mode
Hi everyone, just disabled the hands-free mode (steering wheel symbol - from the upper curtain) and your problem is solved.
Cheers.
God bless.
The link in the OP does not work; am I missing anything - like a period or some other punctuation or some word(s)?
No Gyroscope, No Proximity Sensor, No Temp...
I have a SM-N900 Showing no values for any sensor, I have tried unplugging and replugging proximity sensor with no sucess, also tried restoring via Odin Stock firmware, no sucess.
The Phone was apparently working fine, without root on stock lollipop, and after resetting the device for selling it, it stopped working.
I can't even rotate the screen...
I also tried the calibration method with no sucess...any suggestions?
Same here!!
It is so frustrating. I've restored to stock, with Odin. Had 3 different roms and have never had my sensors working. I've tried
libgnustl_shared-1.so fix for rotation. It didn't work.
Does anyone have any ideas? I don't have water damage.
I solved my problem by installing google phone app and selecting this phone app as system default from app permissions menu.

Touch screen not responding

So, the original problem was that the front-facing camera was blurry. I unscrewed the 14 screws and took out the plastic cover. First, i tried to remove the battery and noticed that i had to remove the speaker and the microphone below first.
I lifted the motherboard slightly and got to the front facing camera. I cleared it. Then i re screw the screws. I turn it on. Everything is working, it recognizes the sim, the audio and audio keys are working fine but the touch screen doesn't respond. I mean, it shows everything but doesn't recognize my fingers.
I think i moved some small connector when trying to move the battery.
Any ideas guys?
Looks like you need to take apart again and see if you forgot tore-connect anything.
I'd actually go to youtube and see if there's a pulling part video so you can then verify you haven't forgotten anything...

LG G3 D855 Screen Goes Black On ROM and Recovery

So this happened last August and still no luck to this day. What happened was I saw an update for Fulmics ROM which was at version 6.0 at the time and I was still running the previous version so I updated it and the installation was successful until the screen went black while I was browsing the net. At first I figured a clean install would solve things but the problem persisted up to this day. I tried other ROMs (both AOSP and Stock) and had no luck on either. There are some days when things seem to be working fine but then the screen just turns black on its own. I was able to download some apps and even use it for a time but the screen will just go black all of a sudden. I tried wiping the storage (internal and external) and still it goes black. I tried backing up the current "working" ROM I have which is an AOSP one but then during the backup the screen went black and the file is probably corrupted at this point. I also feel that even when it "turned off" there's still power in the phone since the battery becomes drained of its charge over time. I tried replacing the battery with a new one but it didn't solve things for me. Additionally, I encountered a weird part of the recovery wherein there's an orange background and white text which really surprised me like pressing detonate. Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you may be experiencing the lcd flickering/fading/dying issue some other users have experienced. It is a problem with the main board/connectors, and not the LCD itself. You can try an easy fix, but it may not be a permanent fix.
You'll need to take the back cover off of your phone and put some folded up tape or a label of some sort - something with a little thickness to it - on the rear camera connector; you can also put some on the front camera connector and the metal can that covers the processor chip, but the rear camera connector is the most important spot. Here's a pic with the spots labeled for you.
View attachment 3896177
What you are looking to do is put enough - but not too much - tape on those spots to add a little pressure to the board when the rear cover goes back on & it is screwed back together. I've done this fix on a friend's phone and it has worked well, although I ended up having to do it again about 4-5 months later.
*Follow this G3 teardown guide to step 7, carefully/gently re-seat the connectors once for good measure(optional), and then put your tape on... https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/LG+G3+Screen+Replacement/33203
**Remember that when you put your back cover on and screws in that there is one shorter screw - it is labeled in step 4 of the teardown.

I followed the instructions by adding some paper/tape to the labelled areas. However, the phone now won't turn on. The last time I was able to boot it up was yesterday and it only went so far as the LG logo. The logo seemed off and broken, white lines were all over the place. I tried going to recovery but the phone just died afterwards. I tried charging it and the screen remained black but the phone gets warm specifically around the power button/volume rocker area. I was able to boot it up now and I managed to successfully install a ROM but the screen still goes black and then boot up again but I wasn't able to use the ROM. I tried entering recovery and sometimes, booting up the recovery is a success other times the screen will just go black before entering the recovery. I'm using TWRP 3.0.2 and when I tried to wipe/flash some ZIPs or just tweak some of the settings the phone will just freeze and vibrate so much to the point that the only way to stop it from vibrating is by removing the battery. What seems to be the problem in my phone? Is my phone bricked in any way?
