Is it possible debrand a HTC desire eye ? - HTC Desire Eye

Hi All,
I have a 3 Mobile UK contract HTC Desire eye. The phone is already unlocked and I can use any SIM in it. I was successfully able to install generic Europe recovery and root the device to remove any 3 Mobile UK app's. Now the problem is if I try to get OTA updates, I get a message saying my phone software is modified and I can install updates. Is there way to completely install Generic Europe ROM and remove any boot loader unlock or the root access so that I can get the OTA security updates ?

[Q] updating desire

Apologies if this has been asked before.
I have a desire originally on ornage but now unlocked and on vodafone, I wondered how ota updates work on this?
Will vodafone ota updates be picked up by this phone or will it need to be on orange for them to work. thinking of a possible 2.3 update.
Cheers

are you using a vodafone branded rom? if not no, if your using a generic htc rom then, you will get the generic ota updates, if your rooted and using a custom recovery, you can't flash ota updates though, they just fail
It is using an orange rom as only recently been unlocked, so that would mean having to put ornage sim in phone to upgrade or rooting I guess?
Do you know if an orange upgrade would re-lock the phone?

You can flash OTA updates, you just need a Goldcard. I don't know. I guess you would get Vodafone since your using their sim? I've no idea, it's a weird one. If your fully up to date with the stock ROM then it will take ages for 2.3 to come out anyway or at least another update.
If you're using an Orange ROM then the Orange OTAs will continue to come through. The phone just checks Google's update server - the fact you're using a Vodafone SIM is irrelevent as that's not what dictates the update
Cheers that would seem sensible thanks

mm maybe its the ota that was retired 2.24 i think. If you have root and recovery dont install, it blocked the phone, you need original rom and recovery to update

Orangre branded HTC One M8 -> Unlocked -> Lollipop. Possible?

I read that for Unlocked edition of M8 lollipop update with sense 6 already started rolling out. I have orange branded Polish phone with 3.33.69.1 compilation(android 4.4.4, kernel 3-4.0-g07962b9). I would like to change to official non-branded rom and then update to lollipop. I've rooted and changed roms on some previous android phones I had, but I would like to make sure that changing from orange branded to normal is possible, and that I will be able to receive official firmware updates afterwards.
i'm also interested in this. anyone?
Well I'm o2 UK branded and ive received update
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
You need to wait for an OTA Update to LP Firmware with a LP update with it.
Otherwise you'd need to S-Off. Pay up the $25, and S-Off. You'll have every firmware prior to release and be able to update.

From my experience Orange is very slow with allowing over the air updates, and I would prefer not to wait.
S-Off is achieved by using Sunshine, and Sunshine costs 25$, right? Once I do that I'll be able to change firmware, from what I gather.
The only thing I don't know is - where to get official HTC one m8 rom with no branding. I would like 100% legal way to get official non-orange m8 firmware. For example HTC site offering firmware updates to use with SD cards? Also, do I need to change CID? Wouldn't I just need to unlock bootloader trough htcdev and then install other firmware?

M9 update question

Hello,
Recently ive got an HTC one M9 with 5.0.2 version. I've checked for OTA updates and none. After, i've googled around and saw that i can update manual even from HTC.
My phone is S-OFF, rooted and LOCKED bootloader (this is how i've got it).
Trying to find out CID and etc i got more info. I want to update to android 6.0 but dunno how to do it safely without bricking. I have attached 2 screenshoots with detailed info.
Could someone explain in few words how to do it? Also i would like to know if i lose root in the process.
Thanks in advance
ps: i got some exp with flashing/rooting etc, but on LG phones.
Any1 can tell me if i can update to 6.0 on my htc one m9 with S-OFF, rooted and LOCKED bootloader?
I should unlock bootloader?

As in unlocked direct from HTC (SKU 617)? You should be able to go onto wifi and manually check for an update to download & install the OTA - assuming you have stock everything (no custom recovery, no root).
If you've got the latest TWRP installed, I believe there is a way to install the OTA via zip, but you'll have to check out the forums for more information. You could also download the executable RUU (http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m9/news/) to install via PC - or use the SD card method to install the RUU. Recall that RUUs restore your device completely to stock and erase your phone.
The HTC One (M9) ReadMe/Stock File Collection Thread by Flippy498 should have everything you need.
If the carrier releases the update, no matter where in the world the phone is it will be updated. If you were with att you just wait for att to release an update. If your device is wwe or dev then the update will come straight from htc.
You can get your carriers updates anywhere in the world.
If you updated to android 7 then you have a dev edition and your phone is up to date. When a new update is released you will get a notification.
If your phone is rooted you cannot accept ota's without damaging your phone.
