Loosing Antenna , flashing screen and restarting - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hi there
I've faced a problem since. I lose my antenna signal (on both 3g & 2g or auto connect) frequently, then when antenna signal bars return, suddenly screen flashes to black and back then I lose antenna bars again. and this happens for a while till it gets restart almost every time this happens.
I see multiple wired things also; while screen flashes,
sometimes some apps would stop working like instagram, battery docter, goole & google gesture and ...
sometimes i see a notification stating my sd card is damaged and needs format! (some times sd card is empty!)
and like that...
while restarting when samsung logo or even note 8 logo comes up, I see these flashing screen continus
I guess these happens while I am at areas with not very satisfying signals, although I had this problem while I had no sim card in it too!
what is wrong guys?
Note 8 5100
android 4.4.2 official ROM
(I thought of it as a software problem and upgraded to kit kat but no chance!)

I am also experiencing similar issues.
Sudden signal drop, screen flickering, rebooting without prompts. After that the apps installed in the sd card wont load for most of the time.
Plus device overheating and battery draining (did the battery pull trick and have been doing ever since, sometimes 2x a week!).
really hope somebody could chime in for a solution.
PS, thinking of flashing new ROM, but havent decided which one yet. Will this help at all?

Donno... I know if the battery is weak or bad, the screen will flash randomly when power is needed. Example 1600mhz is used durring boot and home screen loading. As for non wifi connection for data, that will consume power like the CPU running at max.
It may be time to replace your battery. Especially if you have pulled the plug a few times. The wires and plug are brittle. Found out when messing with the used Note 8.0 I got on ebay that had 4.4.2 loaded.

incredible restarting randomly

My incredible will restart itself randomly. There's no pattern to it, it runs fine when it's on or I don't see anything wrong with it. The only thing that may be different is that it hasn't been activated by verizon yet. Just wondering if anybody else is having this problem
Yes I do too.I have done two hard resets and it has not fixed the issue.
I plan on calling in for most likely a replacement this week. It's not the signal issue as I live in Ohio.
+1 random resets
1 Million Postings
<sigh> I feel like I should keep a text file on hand which addresses THIS issue, and one which answers "will the 2150mah battery need a new back" ...
Anyway, on THIS tried and true point, a google search shows:

etc. In addition there are plenty of posts on this topic on PPCGeeks, Android Forum, and IncredibleForum
Hopefully a fix will come.
I've had my incredible for about a week now with absolutely zero random resets.. maybe the newer shipped phones got a fix?
mine randomly resets when in low service areas
or
I believe mine resets randomly when the phone gets too hot (pocket, holder, etc).
Probably doesn't help much but two-three weeks ago my phone rebooted randomly 3-4 times over the course of about two days. It was always in an area with four bars of service and it wasn't overheating (to the touch).
Hasn't happened since then, though, so dunno.
I have had my phone for about a month and have not had a random reboot. I have had the HTC logo come up with a loading screen for a few seconds after shutting down progs with the Advanced Task Mgr.
I did not have any problems for the first few weeks but yesterday it rebooted on its own twice in two hours. Then it was fine the rest of the day. Nothing since then but I am watching it.

Ok, I take this statement back.. phone has rebooted 2 times in the past 2 days. I'm not sure whats doing it yet. Where I had the phone as I watched it restart is in a very low cell reception area.. I'm in the sticks so some spots in my house work better than others.
+1 for Random Rebooting , 2-3X a day
Once mine warms up it goes into an endless reboot cycle until i pull the battery. Make a call it reboots. Use the nav it reboots. I have perfect signal but the indicator jumps from 0 to 4 bars on all my phones like vzw has issues. Using my wm phone instead with no issues. Even not activated with a fresh rom flash it does it. What a pos.
I've had the phone for ~1 month and had ZERO random resets until I moved home from college. I always had full 3G service at school, but have 0-1 bars on 1X at home. I had two random resets today.
i got random restart until i pull out the battery.. finally i found the phone restart because of the sd card, i formatted the sd card then ok, but when moving the application to sd, the problem persist again, maybe it because some application cannot move to sd..

I've had this happen when putting apps on SD while using LPP. It apparently does not deal well when apps are on SD. Note: none of the apps I was using widgets and I read up on the LPP FC on reboot situation. But idk what the issue is for you but i've been able to reproduce a reboot when apps are on SD and I force a lot of CPU usage with LPP. Not an issue anymore though I just don't put apps on SD to be safe
after create partition on my sd using darktremor script for ext3.. my problem solve.. this is because the script in the ext3 informed to the system that the ext3 is phone storage..

Random restarts, lag, etc
I've had my Incredible for about a year and a half, and it's been rooted all along. I kept getting the "low on space" warning, so I applied the "Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.zip" fix from another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488351)
But after applying this so-called "fix," my Incredible lags like crazy, randomly restarts, freezes, etc. For example, while typing this comment, it's trying to send a text to my wife, and going on about 5 minutes of the "please wait" screen while sending.
It's the standard incredible (ADR6300) running the stock ROM... :crying:

[Q] Shutdown issue (but not the overnight one!)

Hi,
I've been reading the other shutdown issue with interest from the start but I think that my particular issue is different and I'd like to know whether anyone else has my exact problem.
I'm using the o2 UK 16GB version 10A/234 and this is the problem:
When I reboot the phone and it gets to the lockscreen, if the network status is "disabled" on the lockscreen and I swipe to open, the phone shutsdown and can't be started again until I remove the battery.
If I wait for a couple of seconds when the lockscreen comes up, there is a little lag but the phone works as normal.
I can replicate this issue over and over again, so it is not a random occurrence AND this is the second handset that I have had where this exact problem is present.
Does anyone else have this issue?

I'm facing the same issue. Is your device rooted?
At first every (re)boot without being connected via usb to a charger or a computer would result in a shutdown shortly after I enter my pin. After a day of usage I cannot reproduce it anymore, although it still happens from time to time, for example yesterday when I tried to send a text while having very bad to no reception. When it happens I also have to remove the battery or hook it up to a charger, otherwise the buttons/screen would not respond..
I'm thinking there is a (firmware) problem with the chipset since it always happens when my phone is trying/strugling to connect to the mobile network. I installed an app which constantly writes logs to my sd, hopefully that will give me more information about what's causing the problem..
Are you also having bad reception when the device shuts down? My previous device (iPhone 5s) had normal reception in my house, incl. a stable 3G connection, always 2-3 bars of 5. The LG G3 is constantly strugling with the connection to the network and often switches to "emergency calls only"..

This happens rooted non-rooted, stock (no added apps) and always whilst connecting to phone network. Are you on same variant as me and if you leave it for a moment before putting in your pin does it then work ok?. I'm trying to get o2 to change my handset for another model (m8) but they just want to fix my one.

Yes I'm on the same variant. Still running the 10A firmware.
Sometimes it works, but I will do some more test this evening after work and see if I can reproduce it every time and hopefully get some usable logging too.
I think this is fixed in the 10f firmware update that I installed yesterday. I haven't had a shutdown since :victory:

Last ditch effort to fix wifi SGH=M919

Hello,
I have spent many hours attempting to solve the ongoing problem of the wifi button not responding but remaining gray when touched. Here is a quick chronology of symptoms and attempted fixes. I love everything else about the phone, especially the size, but am close to throwing my hands into the air. If anyone has any suggestions as to a Rom that may finally fix this, please let me know!
Wifi worked fine on phone for about 6 months, then became unreliable, not connecting after being out of range and coming back into range of wifi stations. I was usually able to force it to come on by a reset, pulling battery, turning off mobile data and calling *#0011# and turning wifi power saver off and on several times.
After this would no longer work, I rooted phone with CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar.md5 , was able to use wifi for a day or two, then nothing would force it on.
Tried multiple custom roms, including CM11 kitkat and CM12 Lollipop, same results, I would originally get wifi to fire up and connect, but after a day or two max, nothing.
Have flashed stock kernel for modem, nothing.
Took back of phone off, unplugged and plugged in blue antenna wire, nothing.
Recently flashed M919UVUFNH7_STOCK_ROOTED_DEODEX_KNOXLESS along with NH7_modem.tar.md5, wifi worked a little while, and as usual, wont respond to any resets, battery pulls, etc.
Thanks for any help you may be able to afford.
ive been having the same issue or a month or so now... cant seem to find a sulution anywhere. I too tried multiple roms, even the new 6.0 . I cant imigine its the wifi antennae because it works fine when it wants to... gettin frustrated with it.

I agree, flashing stock firmware is one of the first things that should be done in this case

I have a suggestion. Use the following link to get latest T Mobile firmware for the phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
Sometimes it takes flashing the firmware twice for the full install of the radio to take properly.
To begin, remove the back of the phone, because your going to remove the battery after the first flash.
Boot into download mode by holding the volume down and power.
Assuming you know how to use Odin, before starting the first flash, unchecked the auto reboot option.
After Odin has reached the point of RESET, unplug the cable, remove the battery... Replace the battery, reboot into Download mode and
repeat the process, leaving auto reboot checked this time.
You are now completely stock. Your data will be basically left untouched.
Good luck.

Have you tried cleaning the hardware contacts on the antenna? I remember this same scenario on my old HTC Desire... the antenna contacts were dirty IIRC and they needed cleaning.
Wow, so I am not the only one still facing this issue! I flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361 a few times and I eventually noticed the wifi issue as well.
Baseband: M919UVUF0H3
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2437203 [email protected] #1
Build number: KTU84P.M919UVUF0H3
Here's what I attempted:
1. Did a full wipe on the phone and installed full firmware 4.4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t3193835
2. Flashed stock kernel from the same link above
3. Installed SuperSU, flashed TWRP
4. Installed and ran TriangleAway to clear KNOX counter
Same issue as OP--at first wifi would work but the connection would not stick and I was unable to activate the wifi button anymore. I tried uninstalling KNOX but I get an error "Failed to create KNOX mode." When I reboot into TWRP, I get the message "E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)."
I discovered that my EFS folder is empty. I don't have a backup. Could this be related to the wifi issue? Am I screwed?
Finally got the wifi working. Took the white shell that covers the board off and cleaned the contact on the shell with a q-tip and isopropyl, but it looked kinda scuzzy so I scratched it a bit to expose bare metal again. Then I went to the board side and pulled up on the tiny piece of metal that springs to make contact, enough to bend it to a steeper angle for better contact. Wifi and BT working steady for over an hour now. Thought id share.
http://blog.brokenlcds.com/samsung-galaxy-s4-bluetooth-and-wi-fi-problem/
Heres a link with pics of the locations of the antennas
Edit:
though the wifi worked briefly after this, it stopped working shortly afterwards... back to square one...

LG G3 Keeps shutting down - is it hardware?

Few days ago my phone began to shutdown either immediately or after a short freeze of the system. This happens in many situations, although mostly outside/when I'm on the move (I tried disabling GPS but it didn't help). Usually when I switch it on again it either shutdowns just as the lockscreen appears or doesn't work at all until I remove the battery for at least 10 seconds. The latter sometimes helps and the phone works properly for a couple of hours and the whole thing start over. I tried clearing cache, restoring factory defaults, changing the software completely (Fullmics, LineageOS) but nothing helps. I made sure that this is NOT battery related - I have a spare one and it's all the same.
I'm not sure whether the issue is hardware or software related. Here are my suspicions:
Why it might be a software issue:
- Just before the phone shut down for the first time I noticed that the upper part of the display stopped working - I simply could not pull down the notification bar. I rotated the screen and noticed that the same thing happens to the menu buttons which obviously replaced notification bar in the upper part of the screen. Eventually it turned out that this is not a defect of the screen and that part of the screen simply froze. After reboot it worked normally for a while and then froze again. After changing the software the problem seems to be gone.
- When I'm in recovery mode (TWRP) the phone usually is stable, it shut down only once or twice
Reasons for hardware:
- For a couple of months now the Wi-Fi is not working properly. It disconnects and whenever I try to reestablish the connection it goes into "Saved->Connecting->Saved". Maybe this is just the next step towards the graveyard?
- It's about 6 months since the warranty has expired
Have you experienced this and/or have any idea what's going on?
EDIT: With time it was more and more difficult to turn the phone on and keep it running and right now it's not turning on at all.
EDIT 2: I made it run again. TWRP works perfectly but once I reboot to System it shuts down almost immediately.
Nobody has any idea?
I'd guess it's the battery.
When I bought my G3 in Oct 2015, I had random reboots aswell, nothing helped (turning off mediascan, restore kdz via LGFlashtool 2014 etc.).
So I went ahead and bought another battery (7000mha) from ebay.
Never again suffered from those annoying random reboots
(Inserting the old battery, makes the reboots reappear, so that is postivie proof for the battery thesis).

As I wrote above, I have two batteries and the problems exists with both of them.
In that case try this:

Regarding your battery: You didn't only get "original" batteries ? I have a third party one... All original ones I had so far failed me...

Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 (320F) (WiFi, Bluetooth, battery life, restarting)

Hello. I have Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 and have a few issues with it. First thing is battery life. After upgrading from Android 7 to Android 8, battery life significantly decreased! I even know the reason why it is happening (it decreases on standby mode. If you will remove SIM card or go to the Airplane mode, battery life is great) Probably many of you know about this issue? - Do you know how to fix this?
Another problems started about an year ago. Firstly, we were not able to turn on WiFi. This is also known issue on Lineage OS as I know, but this phone is still running its original Android 8. After few months, we could not turn on Bluetooth as well. After that, I tried a factory reset and that is when things got worse! After factory reset, phone was still not able to turn on WiFi and Bluetooth and plus it was restarting over and over again. During these restarts, you can not turn off your phone. If you will push the Power off button, it will simply restart the device. After a long time it stops restarting and you are able to turn it off, but Wif and Bluetooth are still not working. If you will turn off phone then it still starts restarting again and again. Now I have noticed that it shows antenna when there is no SIM card in it. Even signal strength is changing. Of course if I am trying to call or go to the settings, it says that there is no SIM card inside.
Please, could you help me to solve any of these problems? I have cleared partitions, made factory reset few times, wrote latest firmware for this model using Odin but none of them fixed anything.
Can I downgrade to Nougat? or should I try some custom ROM? If yes, which one?
