Anyone running into this? I didn't notice this happening before applying the OTA that just arrived. Then again, I want actively using it. I was letting my apps automatically restore.
Come to think of it, it never did restore all my apps so maybe the problem did start before the update.
Next up, I'm going to do a factory reset and go from there...

So, the issue came right back even after the factory reset. My guess is that one of the wireless network settings it restores causes the issue.
I think I resolved it though. Marshmallow has a reset network settings option in the same "backup and reset" settings section. I gave that a try and haven't had the issue come back since.

The last it happened it turned out to be issue with the Market itself, but now no one is taking about it and I have not been able to get any updates or download anything from the Market for days.
I've tried every suggestion I came across to no avail; clearing cache, data in any app that seems to have anything to do with downloading from the Market, logging in/out/in to GTalk, downgrading the Market app to stock. Nothing works, and it all started happening out of the blue; no problem one day, and the next day the Market doesn't work no matter what.
I don't remember making any changes to the phone, it's been setup a while ago and running to my satisfaction, except for one thing; some days before the Market stopped working I started noticing that my battery wasn't holding up as well as it used to, but I don't know it this has anything to do with the matter at hand. I'm on a rooted 2.2.1 (mistakenly) released by US TMo with a Go Launcher EX.
So, is it me and my phone, or something outside of my doing. I would hate to do a factory reset, so would anyone have a better plan of action.
Thanks

Thanks, but no change.
I don't know how to say in English. In Chinese, in the settings that have a setting call 資料節省模式.If you tick it, you can't download anything in market.

In the American ROM there are three settings in the Data Manager under Data Delivery; Background Data, Data Roaming, and Data Enabled. I guess the closest would be the last one and it pertains to having data enabled over mobile network. All but the roaming were enabled.
@scrannel: It was happening in both, mobile and WiFi.
Thanks guys, frustrated, I ended up doing a factory reset and restore after all. Now my battery use is back to normal (i.e. excellent) too.
Drat, things (software settings) are fragile; falling apart under normal use.
I am experiencing the same problem. Tried a lot of methods like clearing cache and all but nothing worked.
Everytime I start a download it says 'downloading' for a few seconds and then says 'download paused' and remains there.
This issue is on wifi only, and happened out of the blue yesterday. On my 3g data connection the apps download just fine.
What can I do?
I am having the same problem with downloads from the market, but only on 3g. Everything is fine on WiFi. 99/100 times, an App will take forever to download on 3g, pausing 5-10x during the process. This has been going on since Friday I believe. I have switch roms, complete data wipe, formatted my memory card, deleted .android-secure on teh SD card, nothing helps.
I don't know if its the 3g network or what, but it's really starting to aggravate me
Settings -> Data manager -> Data Saver -> untick "Enable Data Saver" should do the trick
Data Saver off wouldn't help those of us who got "WiFi-exclusive" Market stucks.
Worse yet, sometimes at certain WiFi networks (for example those they give at Starbucks) it works just fine, stuff downloads in huge chunk (from waiting list). Then on other WiFi it wouldn't work.
I even tried it at home WiFi spot with all firewall offline, and still no cigars - "paused".
My market suddenly started working again, but now after a few days it says 'downloads paused' again..
What is happening!

i had the same problem with my stock 2.2.1 defy (but in my case the market got stuck on the old version and wouldnt even update itself). the only thing that helped was doing a factory reset from recovery, and now everything works fine. but afaik there's an app backup option (only in 2.2), so if you do a factory reset you can have most of your apps installed in a minute from backup. good luck!
downloading
Even i am having the same problem when ever it paused like that i will open android market and it will download automatically again try to do like that.

No other issues so far. I just tried reset to factory settings to see if it will fix the quick settings. And it works now.

glad to hear your issue got sorted out
just for the future id recommend posting it in the rom thread, as an issue you have with the rom so its more likely to be seen
(i maybe check q and a once a week and often see issues for roms i work on...its easier to post it where it ll be more seen imo)
I'm having a problem with an HTC Desire from Australia being used in the US on AT&T.
My father had this phone for a very long time. Since stock suited his needs for so long, I never bothered to S-OFF. Recently he was running out of space on his phone. I got S-OFF, flashed Supernova Rom and partitioned his SD card with 4ext Recovery, giving him 1.36GB to play with. Everything seemed to go fine until 3 days after the Rom upgrade.
His phone's mobile network keeps turning off and staying off. When I go to the quick settings tab, in an attempt to reset the mobile network, it doesn't allow me to turn it back on nor off. It's like the option is disabled. The only way to reset the network is by going in and out of airplane mode, but after time, even that one becomes disabled. The only way to reset from that point is by a full reboot.
I was getting com.andoid.phone force closing on me but I have fixed that by uninstalling facebook. I have tried 5 different radios so far and each one has the same problem. Works for 15 minutes to an hour then shuts off the mobile network. Leaves nothing but an X and no bars and never reconnects on it's own.
If anyone has any idea how to fix this, please fill me in. I don't know what I should try next.
Maybe its not software issue but hardware? Try to backup actual ROM(e.g. using Recovery) and install official 2.3 HTC Sense and find out if problem still exist.

Thanks. Will give it a shot. I'll check back in with results.
Go to settings/wireless and networks/mobile networks and check if you have access point names configured. I'm pretty sure that the upgrade deleted them and if it's like that do a fresh install.

If you need to restart connections you may not need to reboot. There is a utility in Play store called Restart Connections which does a reset of your connections. It works for me when I am in a low signal area and phone gives up after sometime.
OK So I was experiencing data drops frequently. I disabled the battery app that came with Project X and updated profile/PRL and it seemed to help. Well after a few days it came back and now its worse than ever. Started getting a small box that popped up saying "Network error, please check connection" or something like that and now I have no data at all no matter what I do. Any ideas? I am thinkin I should just return to stock.

What modem are you running? Try flashing the latest GB27 modem, updating prl/profile, see if that helps.

Are you sure it's not your area being effected? Try calling your provider to see if there's an issue in the area first. No amount of trouble shooting would help if that's the case. That happened to me once on metro pcs and I was going crazy trying to restore then I find out the service was messed up for a few hours.

If after doing this, your signal doesn't improve, and you're positive there's no network repairs, maintenance, etc.. Then I would reflash the full restore one click of your choice (Make a backup to your pc as it will delete your internal memory) and update PRL and profile, then flash the rom of your choosing. Now when you put things back on your device do not restore any system data because it will bring your issue back!
WiFi refuses to connect occasionally after waking up. Need to toggle the airplane mode to restore the connection. Sometimes the WiFi on/off switch will also stuck. You cannot toggle it until a reboot. Can anybody else replicate the problem?

After disabling the "Scanning always available" option, the problem hasn't appeared for a day. I checked the advanced WiFi settings of 4.2.2 and couldn't find the same option. It's likely that Google introduced the bug in KitKat because I heard lots of similar complaints from Nexus users.

That may explain why I have not seen this since I always change that setting...

I have the same issue since I updated to KitKat...
no fix found yet
I'm having a similar problem with my WiFi too. I am on Android 4.4.2 Ver. V50020d and the device is refusing to connect to my WiFi, I have tried a full reboot, WiFi on/off and a factory reset. The factory reset worked for a few days and now it has stopped working again. I get the Error Message 'Failed to Connect to Network' when I try to connect to the WiFi manually. Has anyone got a fix for it yet?
Also I have contacted LG Support and after trying the 'usual' troubleshooting stuff, they suggested my device should go in for repairs.
Hmmm.... my WiFi connects reliably...
