I don't think Windows Phone 8.1 supported bluetooth GPS. It would be nice if Windows 10 Mobile devices support the use of external bluetooth GPS devices. Does anyone here know?
See anything similiar?

No, I don't see anything in the picture that indicate the support of Bluetooth GPS.

I think it depends on the APP, some apps support the external GPS, like' GPS bluetooth'.

So it has nothing to do with hardware? I plan on buying either a Lumia 950 or Lumia 950XL in the near future. It would be great if I can use a bluetooth GPS with the devices when I don't have a data connection.

after searching google i found no information that would interest me, so what i would like to know is the following:
-is anyone using a gps device with the s620?
-is it possibile to use de mini-usb port to connect gps devices or do i have to use BT?
-what's the best gps software out there?
i am using windows mobile 6 and have a 1 gb sd card.

Before it was STOLEN, I used the Garmin Mobile 10 Bluetooth GPS System. It worked well with my T-Mobile Dash, however, the animation was a tad sluggish due to my limited space on the microSD card. The manual recommended using at LEAST a 1GB storage card...so that was what I did. Because of the infinite amount of maps the program installs to your card, I would recommend a MINIMUM of 2GB on your microSD.
Now to answer your question... The GPS unit has a mini-USB slot very similar to that of the Dash, but Bluetooth is the only method of connection between the two devices. The system is available on Amazon.com for $125.67.

I'm currently using a Freedom GPS unit...no bigger than a key chain and works well with google maps and windows live search...AND costs less than or just a hundred dollars.
The fact that it's sluggish would have nothing to do with how much space you have on miniSD card.
I'm currently using a bluetooth GPS receiver with Route66 V7 which works very well with the S620
Currently using a WondeX BT760Y mainly for Google Maps & Windows Live works fine. 44 Hours of battery life and connects through bluetooth. I don't think you will find a GPS Unit that connects to the USB of the T-Mobile Dash.

I am using a holux 100 via BT and it has been working fine on my Dash/s620, mda\wizard and on my shadow\juno. also i have been using a program called nav4all free on line just go to nav4all.com gives turn by turn and maps. i haven't been lost yet.
Motorola T815. Comes with Motonav, and a Years subscription. I never used the subbscription, and usually use it with Live Search.
As a short Info, JETware Hands-Free Extension for Windows Mobile is now Open source now. I think its unknown at the moment.
Here is the link to the project page

Great... Now we can add full support for BT headsets with lcd (SE HBH-DS980) and other stuff...
Great news! Lets test, if this version works on my TP2...
Bad news: It seems that the bluetooth stack on TP2 is not compatible with Jetware Mobile. I get always the information:
Unable to load JETware Hands-free Extention. You phone may not support this version of the extention.
Can somebody fix this?
doktor_ppc
Most probably because TP2 doesn't have Microsoft Bluetooth stack...
on my touch diamond 2 there is no problem,
with one rom, i had problems too. but i dont know witch rom, from witch cook.
i installed it on my HD and now every time someone calls me i can hear my ringtone into the BT headset but the phone vibrate but give no sounds.. do you think it could be possible to have the ringtone on phone and headset at the same time?

Broadcom stack
Is there a chance, that a developer will enhance JETware to support the Broadcom stack?

Broadcom stack is far superior to MS one. What are the problems are you facing?
There are some applikations, that won't work with the Broadcom stack:
1) Phonealarm: can't activate /deactivate bluetooth
2) JETware: can't activate the extension
3) Tomtom
....

For phoneAlarm, if it calls an exe to toggle bluetooth can be fixed replacing the exe whith other one. Take a look into the commanager
JETWare, it has no sense...
Tomtom, are you sure? In fact TomTom is developed againts broadcom and in some devices you have to delete 2 files in order to get sound because of bluetooth stack

Why? Is it so difficult?
I really need a programm like JETware, because I want only submit a special contact group to the carkit system (I have really a lot of contacts).
Is there any other solution available?

Broadcom stack implements all the profiles better than MS (the jetware purpose)

Disable sync of contacts and send them manually... or replace the broadcom stack whith the MS one

That is not the best solution. I need the contacts, but I need only the contacts of a special katagory and I think that is one of the main features of JETware.
Are you talking about Touch Pro 2 ?... What about Diamond 2 , do it has also Broadcom?
Thanks.
Yes..Touch Pro 2...but I think the TP2 has a Widcomm bluetooth stack. Isn't it?

Widcomm and Broadcom are the same company
Sascha
ah...that is a good information
Btw.: is there a chance that a developer will enhance JETware to support a widcomm bluetooth stack?
does our xperia play will get a bluetooth tethering in its new official update of android 4?
I tested the rom by doomlord, it has bluetooth tethering option in settings, but it didn't worked. Anyone knows, where we are going to get that?
Bluetooth tethering? Lol. Bluetooth tethering is not even needed nowadays as most of the gadgets in today's times already come with Bluetooth preloaded.

Chances are "No" for getting BT tether or DUN via BT in the official ICS release. BT is remarkably slow for most devices, even with EDR BT 2.x+ , Really need to be using BT 3 or BT 4 to see any kind of decent PAN speeds.
Still, I've seen a few apps that do tethering that support bluetooth. I think "Barnacle" supports it, if it likes your chipset. Although they may have removed it in more recent versions.
It is possible to do if you have root (or the right ROM), but is unlikely to be very supported. Most people prefer WiFi tethering.

Should the 900 be able to connect with built in Bluetooth from a laptop? everything installs like it should work but my lumia sayes "not possible" or something similar to that.
I installed the nokia tools from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605144
Specifically the Nokia Care Suite. After I did that and for no reason really I paired up the phone via bluetooth to my laptop and suddenly I get a media player interface and when I hit play its streaming my phones music....

WP7 phones will probably only support BT headset and BT stereo profiles. So, if your laptop BT supports those two profiles, you will be able to pair/connect. You can't use it for other purposes, e.g. file transfer or contact transfer because WP7 doesn't support them.

This is a great thing to add to my TODO list. I don't believe I've ever tested the bluetooth network sharing on the KFireHD's. Thanks for bringing this up.
