I'm looking for a kernel/app that allows me to increase in-call speaker volume. I'm using stock rooted GB 2.3.6. Any suggestions?
I'd like to avoid flashing cm11/12 if at all possible as it appears to be quite complicated with the changes in recovery/partition layout.
If you are rooted, you can use an app (available on XDA site) called Viper4Android......it boosts audio level across the board.......

Hi, I'm wondering if there are any effective software tweaks for the Gio to increase the maximum sound output, particularly from headphones?
I have looked into a number of options already and this is what I've found:
1. On some phones, there is a file /system/etc/hwVolumeFactor.cfg which has entries that control the max volume for speaker and headset. I have not been able to find this file on the Gio.
2. There is a an app called Volume Control+ which works to some extent, but it is a software solution that uses a fair bit of CPU and causes the sound to stutter on occasion which is annoying.
3. Some Galaxy phones have a headphone driver chip made by Wolfson that can be hardware tweaked by Voodoo Sound with excellent results, but AFAIK the Gio does not have such a headphone chip.
On the Gio there are two files that look like they may have something to do with sound output, but I've not been able to figure out how they might be modified to increase volume. The files are amp_gain.txt and analog_volume_table.txt
Any ideas?
i dont know for sure but after installing cm7 my headphone max volume is defibetly higher
prolly something to do with the dsp app

Hey,
Could you answer this:
Can I make my Gio louder, if I'm using GioPro_v1.4?
Thanks,
if you're so interested in, i can upload somewhere the DSPManager and then download it. Theorically it should work, on hyridan rom (based on original firmware) it works with no problems. quote me if interested
So I have an Xperia ZL (Odin). It is a C6502 with a C6503 CM ROM installed. I prefer to use CM10.2 over the Sony Stock ROM. I was using stock for awhile due to ClearAudio, because lets face it, the normal audio levels are pitiful. While ClearAudio provided a noticeable boost, it still wasn't much. I have found a plethora of different solutions that boast that they work on quite a handful of headsets. However, I am still having issues getting this to work correctly. I have spent a little over five months trying to find a solution and have used Google and XDA search more times than I can remember.
So here's my issue in a nutshell:
AC!D Audio v8
▪ Works but does not play out of a wired or wireless headset.
▪ When a headset is connected to the 3.5mm headphone jack, it proceeds to play audio out of the internal speaker.
Beats Audio APK & CWM Zip Libs
▪ Works like a charm with all audio played through headset or internal speaker.
▪ Disables Phones Microphone & Speaker at all times. Calls can be placed but neither party will hear anything.
I have also tried PimpMyROM and RockoBeats to no avail, they both seem to also disable call volume entirely.
So, my question is. IS there anything remotely close to WORKING/ACTIVE development in regards to the Xperia ZL which provides substantial if not beats-like audio quality. Or can I find a way to cook it into my CM ROM Zip and re-flash without disabling the in-call volumes? Are there any ZL roms out there that have a better audio system in place rather than stock/clearaudio?
NOTE: I have followed all instructions to the above programs to the LETTER. Seems my handset might be unsupported or there is a file directly responsible for call volume that is being replaced/tampered during install of audio libraries.
Also, any in-depth guides on how I can get kitchen working would be awesome. I have seen a handful of them, but most are sparce on how to compile/run kitchen, whether it's compiled via VS/Borland or if it is run directly through CygWin is left unclear. I think I can find some guides on how to USE Kitchen well enough, but without knowing which file is responsible for call volume, I may still end up back at Point A.
A big thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I have tried soundaround, and that too did nothing to change the in-call audio I/O. I think the installer replaces one of the sys files that makes call audio work correctly.

Hi,
I'm on 4.4.3 (Android Revolution HD 10.2). I used to own Nexus 5 on which we could modify file \system\etc\mixer_paths.xml to increase volume of integrated amp
The same thing exists on several phones like for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54228412&postcount=1
Could someone attach here its mixer_paths.xml and mixer_paths_auxpcm.xml ? I would like to compare to mine to see if i can manage to know which value affects the volume. Fauxsound can do it through an application but is not supported for the moment on 4.4.3
Thank you
I've been searching all over and can't seem to find a way. There was one guy (chenut)said to modify a mixer file, but another guy in the thread said it doesn't work on 6.0.1. Speaker volume seems to be fine, but headphone volume I have cranked and it's way too low for my liking at the gym or in my car stereo.
I am rooted and on the latest (5/06) PureNexus rom.
Use Kernel Auditor or custom kernels with their applications (ElementalX - franco.).
Use elementalx kernel and use his app to make it loud enough to blast your eardrums

I'm loving this phone in stock form with 3.2.2. However, there is one thing I'm looking to adjust, which is audio equalizer settings. More specifically, I'd like to decrease the bass levels for Bluetooth audio (both in my car and with bluetooth headphones). I find myself turning the bass level down in my car's head unit to "-6" to make up for the over the top bass levels the OnePlus 3 pushes out. However, I would like to find a way to do this on the phone without rooting, so I can decrease the bass level for my bluetooth headphones as well.
Any help would be appreciated. :highfive:
EDIT: I ended up answering my own question. It turns out Spotify now has a built in Equalizer (under Settings) that can be used to adjust the audio settings to my liking. This obviously won't work for non-Spotify users but this is perfect for me. Good talk.
I never felt the need to "downgrade" bass, but I used this equalizer app succesfully on other devices in the past :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.podlanica
Just use Black player EX
Paid but better than the rest with its own inbuilt equalizer and AMP.
I need a global equalizer app as most of my streaming apps like saavn ,wynk etc... doesn't have that functionality. Please help me on this.

I am using this:
de.ridjam.afx.apk
Or AFX .apk
But you need to find first, any media player to disable AGC like jetAudio do.
Or you will experience low volume when increasing bass and treble.

I am using androed 4.0.4 due to harms and concerns that ext3/4 are impessing me (i repudies expressly ext2/3/4 and exfat on ssd flash memories and emmc) to update to a new device.
I increased (retired the gogle crappy stock dsp) with LVH (loud volume hack root) but i can't figure if will work on 4.4 or 5+ i had an mtk that has engineer mode to loud the volume, but was ext4 . Like i said.
I prefer nothing, or death instead any ext / exfat device!
