So I tried rooting my lg g4 (h811) the XDADEVELOPERS METHOD and i hard bricked it, i reported it stolen and got myself a new one, i still want to root my device but i dont want the same thing to happen again..so my question is, is there like a trusted websitw where i can pay so it roots my device? Please list the best ones, thank you.

There are no other root methods and possibly won't be any more. Of I'm correct there's only a recovery for one variant and if it's not your model I honestly wouldn't risk it. There is OneClickRoot .com where you connect with a technician live online and they root it with that method remotely and its 40 bux I believe but, you have a 100% guaranteed if no success which they will succeed, you don't pay, and if something goes wrong they replace your phone. They have been around a few years and I see nothing but good comments about them and talked to several g4 owners who did it. I desperately want root on mine but I'm not attempting that delicate **** with my bad luck lol and there's not much dev for it cuz of the locked boot loader right now, hence no custom rims so I'm considering claiming mine lost ad forking 40 bux which is worth it for me

You have the T Mobile variant, why don't you just unlock the bootloader officially, install TWRP, the install SuperSU zip file and root that way?

Because honestly, i have no idea how to do all that, i dont even know what any of those things mean, im new at all this and only reason i want to root my device is to upgrade roms and hack games, i think my best option is paying money so i can get it done, because obviously doing it by myself wasnt such a good idea..if you could explain and guide me through the process i could try it, i just dont want to make the same mistake and hard brick my device again..thanks..
I would go do A LOT of reading about EVERYTHING related to rooting and unlocking before going any further..

Yes These guys are absolutely right you need to go do some serious research and completely forget rootin a g4 if your not a fly advanced user. I started when I found a lil Samsung Galaxy centura on the side of the road out walking one day and I got lucky it was a very simple root. Really what is absolutely crucial is that custom recovery which I learned the hard way, I still have a gpad 10.1 brand new in my drawer that won't go past the boot, fastboot, and stock recovery and I dont have a PC and I haven't had experience using a PC in many years lol but I got as far as possible without one and being able to flash a different roM depending on my mood and easily laugh at a brick or bootloop while stepping over it is a great feeling I recommend highly. But your not quite ready yet especially for a tricky ***** like the g4, Hell Im not ready for it nor can afford it lol I give that lil L70 utter hell though and learn every day… since you have an unlockable BL (soooo jealous lol jk) you have more options but trust me find an old phone and practice all you can first ..good luck and have fun expanding your mind man[emoji6] [emoji4]
Oh and if you need any help you can private message me and ilk do my best. If I can't answer something I know some guys who can
Oh yeah (again lol) it all may seem complicated at first but you hit a point where it will all just click and fall into place like flipping a switch and then be amazed that everything actually works the way it does, it's just getting to that threshold that is the tricky part
Through my ancient eyes comes the certainty of decay... LG G4 & L 70
From my experience, initially you may get confused about all terms like root, bootloader, recovery, 3 wipes, Supersu, etc but when you find a post teaching you how to root or install recovery, you need to make sure you download the correct image/file for your phone model! But most importantly you need to know how to rescue by yourself if anything go wrong first. DOWLOAD CORRECT KDZ AND IMG BEFOREHAND for pre-cautionary measure. Well known about the steps how to hard reset to restore to factory image.
All in all, I was not studied IT but rooting and installing recovery is a skill facilitating my phone experience! Have fun on it!!

Guys i am torn. One minute i want to unlock through HTC dev website but on the other hand i want to wait for the S-OFF exploit. Not just that, wondering if i unlock will i still be able to get OTA updates still? I know i will do from what i read but few more confirmations would probably ease my mind.
Had a year my galaxy s2 and was lucky enough that the s2 was already unlocked. Not a stranger to rooting but coming over to the HTC One x and reading on instructions on how to root kinda gets me worried.
What do you think guys? Development i am sure will be picking up but do you think it is worth to unlock through the dev site and if so why please.
Many thanks.
The OneX is really easy to root and the nvidia tegra tweak is well worth it
The One X honestly isn't that hard to root.
Just need to unlock the bootloader - then install recovery and then obviously flash a rooted ROM.
Great instructions from bagofcrap24 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592355
The best thing for me after rooting was getting rid of the three dot menu button that takes up screen space on some apps. Using LeeDroid's ROM, I now have the Recent Apps button mapped to Menu and long pressing Home mapped to Recent Apps.

i know mate...it is really a question of when to do it...i mean i do not get as to why they do not come unlocked already though...what is the big deal of them locking the bootloader..that is one of the things that made me go for the s2 over the sensation. cause it was so easy to root through odin. might do it today and unlock and root

see that is the problem that is holding me back Foggy mate. some people say it does not void your warranty some say it does. The actual website says it does void your warranty...Kinda confusing if you ask me. I mean i had my s2 for a whole year before i sold it and it never died on me. But i am really not willing to take the risk with the HOX just yet.

To be fair it says
"It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty."
I think there's def the emphasis on "resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader"
So if yo have a warranty issue that isn't affected by unlocking the bootloader you should be fine.

And who will decide if your problem comes or doesn't come from unlocking and doing stuff on it?
Thats my point, it's just to easy for a repair center to say "yup that is possibly caused by unlocking and moddifying your device".
It voids your warranty if they decide to do so, if they even slightly suspect the unlock/modding has anything to do with the failure.
It's your word against theirs...
Like I said, not in a hurry, the Devs will get it unlocked anyway, just a matter of time, and that way I don't have to worry about warranty.

spot on with that mate. hence why i opened this thread cause you do not know what might be said hence why this is the only bad thing about the HOX that it does not come with an unlock bootloader
anyone had any news on how far through they are with unlocking the bootloader. I really want to get the battery fix installed but am also a little weary about the warranty thing. I got a feeling that if they know your bootloaders been unlocked theyll end up blaming that for the failure even if it wasnt due to it. Saying that my other tab has the htcdev site open so im currently back and fore about using the htcdev site.

Kinda understand why they want to lock it, and offer an unlock with certain warranty issues..
They need to cover themselves ofcourse, otherwise everyone with a bricked device (due to their own fault mostly) is sending back their device for a free repair
I'm happy they left backdoors (official and possible non-official) to unlock the bootloader, think if they want they could have just closed up everything to have it never unlocked again

Guys, if you think your device so far got no hardware issues, It's time to unlock. Getting rid of the annoying menu button alone is a big reason enough to unlock.
Been switching ROMs already for a couple of days and it's fun, the excitement is high lol. Anyway, there is still no custom kernels yet for overclocking so you don't need to worry of frying your CPU. Customization and theming won't hurt your hardware.
So there, go for it, UNLOCK!

Would love to see AOKP as well. Watched an interview with Roman tho and he didnt seem too interested in the One x for some reason and said there were no current plans to develop for it. Although, even if they dont support the One X officially, it will hopefully get ported at some point.

IIRC it requires an unlocked bootloader. Thus, no dice.

Yeah thats what i figured.. i know the boot is on lockdown but i didnt know why they would have a root method if it was still locked down... okay thank you.. i pray to the phone gods for a solution.. i used to have the g2 and that boot was locked down and i think it still is.. they had some loky patch file that walked around the boot.. is this not an option for the note.. i dont know much about this level of information lol. Im just a simple geek that has crack flashed phones into bricks and then saved them from pure persistence!
Wait had anyone actually tried it. LOL 15K bounty but it's been out there for weeks hahahaha.
That's because the is a DEV ed. Of the phone that has an unlocked bootloader that's why it's available if that wasn't the case I am pretty sure chain would have claimed the thousands of dollars just waiting there for him and if he didn't want it he would donate it.

Yeah, I stumbled upon bogus sites like those back when I was trying to see if anybody ever rooted an Asus Fonepad 8. You know if someone rooted a relatively obscure device like that, there would also be a thread about it here.
For all of those that "stumble" upon this "root" method......don't post a question on if it works, just try it and see if it works......simply put, the Top Devs that have achieved root and unlocking bootloaders on various devices have not come up with a stable method as of yet, one of them does this type of work for a living, why would you think some third party site is able to crank out a root method on a device that just became available to the public and claims to have root for devices that do not exist yet??????????
Clearly, it will fail and will ask you to pay a fee for professional technical remote support. Then it will tell you they can not help and there is no refund.
Remember this, Root is NOT for everyone.

Root exploit was found by devs but it is dangerous. They are currently looking for other methods. Fortunately since those devs *can* root, they can dive deeper into the paritions and system to look for it. Easier to find a key inside a house then standing outside the gate.
Fortunately the LG phones are pretty solid and I personally need to change nothing. Outside of Xposed for Statusbar tweaks and themes, it is fine.
Full root..... Whatever. I want unlocked boot.

I agree. First LG phone for me. Previous devices were Samsung dating back to S2 all the way through S5. Felt that the removable battery and SD were too important to me to go with S6. Thus far, I'm much more impressed with the LG UI than Touchwiz. It's good without root. Could be great with it. Only two things I would use root for on this device. All of the ads are driving me nuts (short drive) and I really want to regain unlimited tethering. Fortunately, have T-Mobile so at least have 5 gb of tethering.

No idea where to go with rooting but since all Razer phones are bootloader unlockable they seem ok with it to the point that they're letting us decide what to do with our phones.
They've made it clear that unlocking the bootloader and/or rooting/installing recovery will void warranty and will leave you entirely on your own as far as repairs go at that point.
Unless you're using Three Rescue and tell them you have no idea what happened and can't really say anything except;
"Well.... It's just.... Not working. I don't know why. It ran out of battery and since then I can't turn it on no matter what I do. Charging makes no difference."

Note that in the US it's technically illegal for them to deny warranty for anything software related unless they prove that the unlocking of the bootloader/rooting/etc is what caused the failure in the first place.

So I contacted Razer and asked when they plan on releasing Recovery images and Kernel sources and this is their response.

Considering the language barrier & /or translation, whether literal or, in real meaningful context, is hard to glean from that answer.
Could be a canned response, or, their intentions of not planning to accommodate, or, something else (not now, but, at a later date).

Not looking to good for development so far. I'm loving this phone a lot but without root and custom roms I really have no use for it. I sold my Note 8 because it was so locked down and I couldn't do what I wanted with the device. Now this one isn't locked down as much but it looks like Razer is lacking in releasing the required images needed for root and custom recovery (TWRP). They may or may not release it with time but it will be after the return period by then. So now I'm debating if I should return it and go with the Oneplus 5T which has amazing development.
Anyone else want to try contacting them? Maybe we can get something going if they see the user want it.

I'm willing to be patient awaiting development on this phone, but I get it,especially with the hardware, this phone screams for customization.
I wouldn't blame ya for jumping to the OP5T, or, its predecessor.
Selling my Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design in hopes of taking advantage of the Essential Phone/360° camera bundles, development is in the early stages, but, at least it's got TWRP/root....

Yes the essential phone at its current price is looking like a hell of a deal. With this phone I wouldn't mind having at least the stock rom rooted but we don't even have that. I'm willing to wait if there was at least some hope. I thought I saw some where we may even be covered with an extended holiday return window. Do you know anything about that? If that's the case ill try to run it as close as I can to the return dead line.
I opened up a poll on the Razer forums to see if most users are even interested in root.
I know a lot of user's here on xda that can't have a device without root. I'm interested to see what the response would be of non xda user regarding root.

I just contacted the chat service (Mobile),they cannot/will not say anything one way or the other, suggesting I follow 'em on social media,SMMFH.....................
If I were you,I'd check Amazon or Microsoft Store for their return policy & return the one you ordered direct from Razer,if it's worthwhile, not a drawn-out process with Razer.
Another option would be to flip it on Swappa, you could probably at least break even or come close to it,especially if you have a case/etc.. to throw in to the deal.................

Follow them on social media!? Lmao
Your advice sounds like the best route to go with. Thanks!
I have an old nexus 6 with custom everything and runs like a champ still. So that should do me just fine until something comes up.
As many of you know the Nokia 8.1 is probably not going to get a method for a unlocked bootloader since H.M.D global shut down the exploit/way to aquire it.
I was wondering if there would be any reason that my beloved 8.1 couldn't be rooted by apps like Kingroot when they get the ability to root android PIE.
I didn't realize upon buying the phone that Nokia was so against rooting and im kinda bummed out that as of yet the phone isn't rootable yet. Might even trade it for a Pocophone and take the lack of NFC for granted
Do have mine unlocked and rooted. But the root is a messy task which will most likely take away OTA updates because any tampering is an end to the incremental OTA. Then flashing stock is a tough task too, because the awesome people at FIH Mobile forgot to disable fuse when bl is unlocked. Also, the process is kinda complicated and still under testing Given the complication, I'm sure it won't be freely available because it starts off by using paid tools to trigger debug mode.
I really didn't know that there's almost no way to root this phone when I bought it 2 months ago, but luckily the only reason I've rooted my previous phone (Mi A1) was because of Gcam which is supported out of the box on this one. So it's fine for me, but I do see that no rooting method could be an issue for some people.

I have already replaced the phone because of lack of root / development for this phone. Hated the stock ROM because lots of things didnt work with it (samsung gear watch, some wireless APs, car navigation, etc etc) and without the development this would never be solved.
Also I have expected better camera for the price of the phone.
WIll never buy any HMD device ever again.

XDA is all about root and ROMs
Every one clever would find out first BEFORE buy Nokia phones about the impossibility of rooting those.
I'm sure when root is possible in future ( some geek will find a way, its a phone and not a high end secure government secret thing lol ) more pple will come see this thread.
Mark my words :good:
You're right. At the end of the update cycle I like to install LOS or likewise. Not for the sake for Adaway only.

Agree.
Just like what we're doing at home. We're using Samsung Note 3 (Cyanogenmod rom) as online phone for local line. Before that, the phone with default OS was too lagging and cannot even install the online phone app I need.

Motorola/Lenovo seems to be the last castle of root/development.
I was an early adopter of G7 (I bought it on initial release). As soon as BL unlock support added, BAM! rooted!
How easy it was and I am not developer
