The strap wont click - Sony Smartwatch 3

Hi guys. My strap lock stopped clicking....it was never too good anyway but not being able to wear my watch really sucks...so i took a dremel and grinded the catching bit. Also i had to bend one of the bowy pieces as after grinding there is a half a mill gap between the engaging bits...
Who have done same thing?

I managed to bend the catch banging some carpet down. To fix it, it took a vise to hold the clasp and a hammer and screw driver to bend the catch piece towards to oval cut out on the band. I would not have taken a dremel to the catching bit because I think that is what holds it closed. Hope this works for you.

Lanyard for Samsung i19100

Sorry for noobie Q, but would someone be so kind to video how to insert the Lanyard in the eyelet before I pull out the drill to make another hole?
Take off the back cover, put the wire through the hole in the casing, use something small (like a needle/paperclip) to put the wire around the pin.
That's it?
A quick question.
Where did you get the lanyard from?

sorry that was completely off topic ...

Oh! I thought this thread mentioned some cool lanyards for GSII !!!
krussel do some nice looking and hard wearing ones. I have the stainless metallic one.
my only gripe is the positioning of the lanyard hole on the phone. I think it should be on one of the bottom corners rather than on the top. It has to be held out of way when texting or surfing in portrait mode. Otherwise it can annoyingly swing over the screen when phone is in use.

Buy a replacement screen or a broken phone from Craig's list for parts.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
the scratches are tiny. and that would take to much effort. there is no glass repair solution?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I found this post in the vibrant forum from a guy that polished some scratches out of his screen. It took him literally hours of wet sanding and polishing with a drill to get results. Based on the trouble he went through, I think replacing the screen would be less work. YMMV
Accidentally brick your phone and file a warranty claim.

I have the same prob. Tried the white toothpaste trick. It worked a little bit but its not worth the effort.
Rubbing compound is a little more aggressive than toothpaste. I like 3M Fine Cut. Any auto parts store will have it for about $6 per bottle.
Try it on a piece of sacrificial plastic first. An old CD jewel case or an ancient digital camera's screen. Hell, even your car's headlights (5 minutes each will de-glaze them nicely). Figure out how the stuff works. Then go to town on your phone.

I have a few things I can try this out on. Thanks for the heads up.
Mine got scratched up the day after I bought it (my daughter drug it along my hardwood floors my the charging cord. lol) Finally, after staring at the imperfections every day for over a year, I bought a new digitizer on eBay for like $25. My DInc looks brand new now!!!
meh to much work

Ill second this... Headlights are super easy to do, I imagine a phone screen would take like 2 minutes. Maybe.

Screen cleaning tip

Hey,
This probably sounds a little dumb but for anyone who likes to keep their screen really clean if you use a dried out baby wipe it works just as good as a micro fibre cloth. Just thought I would share as I did it last night and it saved me buying a cloth.
That does work very well indeed!

How does this compare to licking the screen and wiping on shirt/pants (user preference)?
On a scale of 1 to 10 please.
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus - AOSP KANG
Asus Transformer - 3.2.1 OC/UV
Personally, I prefer 80 grit.

Good to know, as I have a few of those lying around from time to time... (1 year old likes to pull wipes out of bag and let them dry )
i just use my shirt and my breath haha
I'd like to know the most effective way of cleaning in the crack between the outside housing of the phone and the screen. I have a little bit of stuff in there and that damn gap is so small.

I just tear the corner of a magazine cover off. Gets deeper than compressed air. Accidentally put my phone in the same pocket as my cigarettes and had pieces of tobacco lining the phone. Magazine cover worked perfectly

Help...just did something dumb

Just got off work and took my phone out of my pocket and
Chewing gum is mushed all over the screen.
I've managed to get the big wobs off but sill lots on there.
I don't want to wet the screen much...helpz
Glass/multipurpose cleaner should cut away at it, provided nothing goes thru your speaker or any crevices on the side of ur phone your screen shouldn't be damaged by wetness or anything. If that were the case I woulda been plenty screwed when I used to wash dishes at a restaurant.
And that's why I never have ANYTHING in the same pocket as my phone.
You can try rubbing alcohol on a q-tip WITH THE PHONE OFF AND THE BATTERY PULLED.
I would try this
Purchase a multipurpose stain remover that dissolves glues and adhesives from your local home-improvement center or hardware store. Popular brands such as Un-Du, Goo Gone and Goof Off are solvents that safely eliminate glue from clothing and fabrics, among other surfaces.
2
Follow directions on how to apply the solution by referring to the product label. If you are instructed to spray or pour it onto a cloth, use a material that is gentle enough for your LCD screen, such as terry cotton or microfiber. Applying the solution with a cleaning cloth is recommended over spraying the screen directly and is less likely to make a mess.
3
Dab the glue residue with a cloth until the solvent begins to soften it. Wipe the area using moderate pressure and notice the glue loosen from the screen with ease.
4
Do not hesitate to allow the solvent to dissolve the residue longer if any stubborn film persists. The petroleum- or limonene-based solutions safely remove residue without harming the surface.
I would think because of the gorilla glass's chemical resistance the goo gone solution would work to dissolve the gum from any area's, yet maintain the integrity of the glass or surrounding area....
Solve
Go to Wal-Mart and but something called Goo-Be-Gone it is in a clear bottle and it is orange. Now just spray it on a rag and wipe, it will remove like butter.
nail polish remover
PEANUT BUTTER..
...and no, I'm not joking.
I heard of sticking it in the freezer til the gum is hard enough to pick off...but dont know if it would affect the internals. Works on jeans and tshirts though!

Dude for your phones safety please do not try rubbing alcohol nor nail polish... Smh lol

Alcohol would be Ok, Though I would try glass cleaner on a cloth first...
Nail polish remover is a huge NO! That will also slightly eat the surface of the screen resulting most likely in swirl marks, alcohol will not do this.

I was gonna suggest that. I use razor blades to scrape sticky crap off of car windows daily, I figured it would work the same on our screen..

Well most of it is gone after rubbing some alcohol
but still have a few pink streaks.
Think I may just lick it off(how i got big wobs off first)
Did you try a very small amount of olive oil on a cotton ball?

My Note 2 got bent???

I know this might sound wired but ya the title says it all!!!
I woke up in the morning i felt that the note is slightly bent as in its raised on the left hand side of the phone!!
I have a bad habit of keeping the note 2 next to me while sleeping so i must've rolled on top of it last night!!
Is it possible for it to happen in the first place???
Or may be keeping in my pocket of tight pants and riding the bike can do that to my note 2??
I'm shocked!! Its been hardly 15 days since i bought it!!

well this seems impossible as though the phone make is plastic it cant bent if you have rolled on top as the mattress is soft enough to protect the impact or rather it could have broken due to body pressure and to the contrary i have been carrying the phone in my jeans riding my bike to for the last 3 months and no issues whatsoever.
can you post screen of the bent position
I'm calling shenanigans.

Im taking pic with different cams but that slight bent is not visible in those pics so thats why wasnt responding buddy!! anyways I ll try something in order to show my note
N2 is a big phone, I carry mine in my pocket too, but I try to keep it safe from bending. Its a fact that its easy to bend such a big and long phone but riding a bicycle and bending it is a bit weird, we are waiting for pictures and further posting from you. And if thats true, try to use your warranty and get a new one? You might get lucky!

Is it really bent.... than thats one in a million production. Sounds weird thou...
I've seen videos of product testing for the GN2, and one test involved twisting the phone. It always returned to its original shape, and the twist was quite severe. You'd need a lot of force to bend this phone beyond the yield point and I'm not sure you can reach it by rolling over it on a bed. Check the battery, if you haven't already, maybe it's defective, bulging out and bending the phone in the process.
I've also carried my phone in different pockets on my bike since I got it, 1-2 months after it came out. I even fell on it once when my front wheel slipped on a patch of ice. There is a slight ripple in the glass now, only noticeable at a sharp angle, but I don't know if it's from my fall or just a manufacturing issue. Either way, I'm quite impressed with the phone's durability. If falling ass-first on it on the hard icy pavement didn't break it, I'm sure rolling over it in bed wouldn't either. I'd check it thoroughly to be certain that they couldn't blame me for damaging it and send it to warranty.
It doesn't make sense because the front panel which basically made of hardened glass shouldn't bend. If anything any stress beyond its limit will end up breaking it. Anyways, try getting a clear shot otherwise people will have a hard time believing you.

Exactly.
I would think that the only way to bend a glass panel would be to use an extreme amount of heat, like a torch. You would have to heat up the glass until glows red, and then bend the it. I just googled "how to bend glass" and here is a link for anyone interested, http://m.wikihow.com/Bend-Glass
You could possibly flex it, but it should snap right back into its original shape. Besides, the rest of the phone is a fairly flexible plastic.
