So i downgraded my kdz from v10c to v10b and i am stuck at verify google account screen? i dont remember the account i was using before as i make a new one everytime i use play store....it asks me to enter my number then asks me to enter my name....after it shows me three accounts when i enter password it takes me back to Connect to wifi or cellular page? is there any way to bypass this?
How do you not know your Google username and password? Why do you use a new one for every phone? Surely you knew that you needed to re-enter it wen doing a downgrade...

No i didn't know i would need to enter it if i flash a kdz...i have been a samsung user followed a guide here to flash kdz of an earlier firmware.....this is my brand new phone just bought it two days ago...i guess i have no choice but to destroy this phone now
i still have the original purchase receipt but it will be useless as there are not lg service centers in my country
done, smashed it with a hammer....lol no need to give solutions

Yes, destroying it is the only option now.
Please make a video of the destruction so we can ensure you do it right. It's important that you are thorough, otherwise the phone could come back to haunt you.

Every single android phone tells you to log in with your Google account after restoring.

Are you talking about a forced login to existing credentials, or asked to login to any Google account? Because all Android phones ask you to login to a Google account to use the phone, but you can skip it if desired.
Activation lock is new in 5.1 I believe.

Security measure ?
say this phone was stolen and the thief tried to do the same.
You're brave. get a phone when there is no service centre to rescue you . Start flashing stuff on day 2 with only knoweledge from samsung.

I am not against the security measures, BUT There should be some warning or something....i did not find anything like this in the flashing tutorials i have seen.....i just make a random google account everytime i setup my phone ...dont add no numbers or recovery data knowing i just need this account to download apps...i use superbackup to backup my sms and contacts...anyway this new security measure should be highlighted unless u want a $500 paperweight.....

Through my ancient eyes comes the certainty of decay... LG G4 & L 70
Its a new feature in android 5.1 if you have a google account setup (which you most likely do if you are using playstore) and you have setup a screen lock Then after flashing anything it will ask you to "login" that google account you were using earlier. In my case i didn't remember the account i was using as i always make a new random account to download apps, i never had this issue before so i dont enter any recovery phone numbers to my google account, another thing when making google account it asks you to enter phone number and stuff if you have done that then you maybe able to unlock the phone by clicking "cant find username" button it will take you to another page where it will ask you to enter your recovery number...and then all the accounts linked to that number will get displayed you can try one by one....each of them unfortunately i had not done this i coudn't get the email account that was linked to this phone.

Serious question - why on earth do you sign up for a new Google account every time you set your phone up? That seems absolutely ridiculous to me (and to your contacts, who will in all likelihood see multiple copies of your details in their contact lists for every Google account you've signed up for!
Extremely suspicious.....

You posted both the serial number and the imei number of the phone. See attached screen shot. So I assume the phone actually isn't stolen, otherwise it would be quite stupid to post these pictures.
I personally don't get what people are really trying to be so secure against... Unless you're an international criminal or terrorist running from powerful governments , seriously what does anyone truly have to worry about? What are the chances some hacker is gonna invest his time and effort into any close to normal one of us and chances are there's people out there with way more money that's accessible online that you or me lol most people are way too paranoid about their location of all things ..like so what ? How is anyone gonna profit or benefit from knowing where we are ...I have nothing to hide anyone wants to waste their time knowing where I am they can come on down to southeast Georgia USA in the heart of har. Mkd core imbread cousin f..kin redneck country where I was unfortunately born and raised and see what all the security measures are really for and its just as lame as it sounds lmao and I personally would never put anything I didn't want anyone to see , hell the world to see , anywhere near an internet connection.. I can't believe people put their entire lives earnings in online banks, I won't a regular bank...my point is it doesn't make sense to waste security measures on nothing important ...this is just my opinion ya know ...just off like 2+2 don't equal 5 lol

Could you help us understand what you mean by "personalized data?"
From your post, I have to assume a lot in order to answer your question. I think you mean you don't want google to use personal results in searches or even keep track of anything you do on your phone.
The easiest (and most extreme) way would be to have a google account associated with your device. This is extreme and not really recommended, as you won't be able to purchase anything from the play store and you'll really limit yourself on the phone.
The other (and recommended) option would be to turn off a couple of things:
Under Accounts, click on your google account. Choose the "search" under privacy. There are a bunch of options here, turn off the ones you don't want. The options shown on my phone (CarbonROM) are:
Manage Location History
Google Location Settings
Web History
Manage Web History
Personal Results
Safesearch filters
I'd say that the first five are the ones that'll turn off most of the "personalized data" that you're looking for.
Let me know if you were asking something completely different.

Ok, saw your update. It sounds like it's an option within whichever keyboard you have installed (I'm assuming the stock keyboard). You can go into settings -> Language & Input. In here, there are a couple of options. One is for the "Personal Dictionary" you can check that one out. Otherwise, click on the settings icon of whichever keyboard you use. The option might be in there.
Let me know if this works for ya!

I am sorry i am being vague, i just dont know how to explain, your solution was pretty close but didnt work, let me see if i can better say what i want to convey.
before the update, when i would send a text i would start typing and a suggested word would come up in the box above the keyboard....thats fine with me, i would then tap the word and then in the box above the keyboard there would be a (- @ ' ! ? and a ,) displayed. now when i tap the suggested word, there is another suggested word immediate and not the punctuation marks as above. when i did teh update it said i could change all that by doing teh settings/disable personalized setings thing. i hope that helped cause this is driving me crazy.
one more things that is going on here is that I have all keyboard sounds turned off as well as the haptic vibrations with key taps but yet it still happens

Hmmm, I haven't been on a stock ROM for quite a while, so I'm not sure the settings layout... I'll flash one quickly and see if I can find any settings that might help you out. Give me an hour or two (I'm at work and while flashing a new ROM doesn't take too long, I have to still do stuff here, haha)

no worries no need to go through all that, i do appreciate it tho. I got it kinda figured out, i have to go into the samsung keyboard settings to get rid of the sounds so i got all that worked out. now to get the punctuation visible I have to long press the UP arrow. I guess i can deal with that.
thanks again.

I know a lot of "advice" on this thread turns out to be people saying "you shouldn't use that, this app is much better at what you want to do!" I don't particularly like that, as it rarely helps the person with the specific problem. But alas, I'll be doing that exact same thing below:
As far as keyboards go, I personally use Swype Beta. Others use swiftkey flow and really enjoy them. A lot of people are amazed at how fast they can type once they get used to the swype interface. I'm consistently beating my most able-fingered friends who are tapping away on their iPhones (although I don't mean this thread to turn into an apple-bashing party... I hate those as well).
Anyways, it's worth it to just try out Swype Beta... it's free and if you don't like it, you can uninstall it. No Root required.

Ok, here you go...
Settings -> Language and Input -> Samsung Keyboard -> Predictive Text -> Personalized Data
In fact, you might want to just turn off predictive text (it'll automatically turn off personalized data). I think that's the feature that you don't like.
Here's what it looks like on my screen.

Hello world,
I just purchased an Samsung S3 but I haven't done anything to it yet because I am deciding if I want to keep it or sell it. I have always used iPhones and know how to jailbreak, tweak and customize it the way I want it but due to the ongoing battle with Apple and jailbreakers and having to wait for a jailbreak I think it's time to switch. An iPhone is nothing without a jailbreak and I am tired of the cat and mouse game.
So now I am here. I know I need to root the phone and can find useful info on this site but what I want to know are the tweaks for the droid phones just as good as the iPhone or better? Please don't be bias especially if you never owned an iPhone.
Can I customize the phone so if a friend ask to use the phone and wants to know the password I can give a dummy password? Can I create a secret account that won't show any of my apps, emails, photos, text call logs? Something similar to an iPhone app called igotchya?
Privacy is my number one concern but I would also like to add tweaks similar to what you would find in Cydia on an iPhone.
Before you rip me a new one for bringing up iPhones or Apple just note I am here to learn and not compare. Everything is foreign to to me which can lead to frustration but if I can have full access to my phone then it's worth it.
Before Apple I use to use HTC window phones like the 8525 and Fuze and came here to flash my roms.
The best way to know would be to root it and explore the different custom ROMs out there. Aosp or touchjizz . you can always revert back to fully stock if you decide to sell it.
Customizing a rooted android device is in no way comparable to a jailbreaked iPhone. Way more customisations posibilities and control over your phone hardware(CPU/internal memory)

Thanks for the reply.
I guess I am more concern about privacy. Prying eyes going through my stuff and accidentally deleting something. When my iPhone was jail broken I used a tweak called Protecti were I can lock certain apps from being launched and have a second passcode so I don't need to give up my real passcode.
The one thing I do like about the droid is how you have more options. You payed for the phone and allowed to do whatever you want with it. Unfortunately with the iPhone, Apple wants to control everything. I am really disliking Apple and waiting for the day when when the next big thing happens and Apple struggles to stay alive.
In my opinion if Samsung would make their phones feel solid instead of plastic they can really do some damage to other cell phone company's.

For the security, I'm sure you can find an app or something that will do the same thing you were used to on your iPhone. You will just need to find the app that does it check for lookout in the play store I think it will do want you're talking about. If not search security in the play store and I'm sure one of the all will suit you. Root my be needed tho. So don't be afraid to root your device and try. As I said you can easily revert back and be able to sell it after.

So the play store has tweaks such as these? I don't need to go through a different source (similar to cydia for iPhone)?
Is there anything comparable to Installous (iphone cracked apps / try before you buy)?

You can search for the .apk on Google or XDA and install it manually on your phone. You put the file.apk on your sdcard you select it from a file manager like es file explorer and it will install the app on your phone and you don't need root to install app manually.
And yes the play store has tweaks such as these and many more. And if you look on the main page of XDA-developer(not the forum) you can find apps that are not in the play store yet. So instead of using cydia, you just need Google, XDA and the play store
Android is the land of endless possibilities

Thanks for useful info,
That's cool you can just put the file on your sdcard and don't have to use a third party installer.
I guess my next stop is to buy an SIM card adapter since the iPhone 5 uses a smaller SIM card. Once installed I don't need to do anything like call AT&T, it should just work right?
Hopefully the keyboard and the auto spell corrector on the S3 is much better than the i5. I wonder if I should sell the S3 and get the S4 or do you think the S3 is better for now since the S4 just came out and is still a little buggy?
Much thanks in advance.

What the heck is this?
Newest security update on Verizon phones needed a new way to repair frp protection. Locked myself out on accident and have the Google information but this way was more fun.
I can add it to someone else's thread if that's a better place.

Experimental use only and bad signal where am at but if there is a dialer code involved it won't work. *#*#4636#*#* is blocked.
Choppy on my end but I like the idea. I'll try it when I get home.
Don't mind posting my imei if it makes people more comfortable and hope end users feel the same way. Not flashed by the way. Carpet matches the drapes.
Pretty rare but have 2 highschool friends that recovered stolen phones and no one would unlock it. Sprint blamed samsung, samsung blamed Google, Google supposedly couldn't help. Carrier wanted $200 for each phone to make a claim. **** happens so I'll hold opinions on anyone willing to contribute to these threads

I did not see these. I was posting while you were too.
I understand now.
Thank you

Backed up old N5X, wiped it, sold it to friend, stuck a new board in mine with 4GB RAM and reballed CPU, set it up, created a nandroid backup to get the device ID etc. Here are the ID's:
OLD PHONE:
02580e6e8582d4b8
2018-02-06--17-07-34_NZH54D
NEW PHONE:
00cad250a0599972
2018-02-06--17-41-28_NZH54D
I first tried making a backup of the old phones nandroid backup on my PC for safe keeping, but it kept failing on copying "system_image.emmc.win" which is a 3.145GB file, it seems to be corrupt.
After copying as much of the old nandroid backup as I could from the USB stick (FRACK SANDISK CRUZER FITS THEY ARE BAD DO NOT BUY THEM) to my PC I tried renaming the backup to the new phone ID anyway and tried to restore the nandroid backup - it fails on that data file at the very end with some error about corruption.
Essentially I need to recover the data from the Coinomi app because I have lost my passphrase for the app / my account so I can't get access to my bitcoin wallet and get my keys.
What can I do here? Does that file actually contain the app data that I need to restore, or is it in another file?
Here's a pic of the backup files I have:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Do any of these contain the app backup data that I can somehow extract, or even paste into a working nandroid backup and restore that, or just restore a part of it? Or am I completely boned here? Is there any way to try and extract data from the corrupt system_image.emmc.win file? Does it even contain the data I need?
Kind of freaking out right now as I had a ton of money in bitcoins on my Coinomi app and, well, yeah.
ANY help here would be greatly appreciated. If you can help me get this working I'll paypal you 20 bucks or something for your trouble.

Titanium Backup has the ability to restore app data from a nandroid, the nandroid only needs to be stored on the same device you have titanium installed (check screenshot) - if you have issues to copy the huge nandroid archive it as zip before copying, just unzip it when successfully copied to the device...

Haha, that was more for if someone needed to help extract the files and all sorts which would take hours of time etc, not just point me to an option in titanium

He didn't ask for it or send me a paypal address, if he did I would have, I'm not gonna be guilted into giving someone money for a 2 minute forum post if they aren't that bothered, seems other people care more than the guy that actually helped me. Eesh.

My PayPal is linked on my Profile, easy to find, donation button is fine too lol but I'm certainly not gonna beg for it, nor will I insist on it, I always helped fellows here without monetary motivation, this time is no different, just let me point out that fun fact that you hold the seamless and easy fix for your problem against me, like "it easily solved my problem to get my money back but it was to not enough hassle to pay for it" , dude just be careful with what you write next time, it saves you from such weird situations and shady explanations to not stand by your words...
Enjoy access to your e-wallet! No bad blood :laugh:

Thanks again, really appreciate the help. I'll get that 20 bucks to you.
Edit: Just hit the donate to you button and it says "We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact the seller via the "Ask Seller a Question" link on the listing page. When you have the correct email address, payment can be made at www.paypal.com."

Thanks for your reply, not sure what's the issue there (fixed it, stupid typo), my www.PayPal.me/samuelhausmann should work unless there are any restrictions by the county you're in, I don't think there're restrictions for Germany but it's not that important anyway, important is that you came to an important insight and finally decided to stand by your words, that's actually what means the most to me and is good to see - respect for that, I never did anything on XDA for money and money wasn't the motivation to help in your case, in fact I was made aware of your offer later by the other user's response, I don't insist on anything - it's truly up to you!
So no worries :good:

I need closure - did you manage to gain access to your wallet?
Thank you and Good luck!
I have a pixel 6 pro, which, when I firstly configuraye him online , after a reset, continue to show me this notification "device managed by admin automatically resetting soon"
When I deactivate google play services, this dissapear and the phone cand be used, but without any of his google advantages, just like an huawei. What can I do to make GMS avabile, without reseting soon danger?
where did you get the phone from?
Similar case: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ng-managed-by-your-organization-help.4466089/
Apart from reselling your phone for pieces or using it as media device, you're out of luck.
Yep. Your phone was stolen from a business/company whom has authorized control over it and can report it as stolen once they realize that it is missing. Once it is reported as stolen, the phone's unique IMEI identification code will be blacklisted and the phone will not be of any use - and there is no way around this.
I'm starting to wonder why so many people are purchasing without checking first/stealing these devices...

Easy. Price. A 600 phone for 2 bills? Tough lesson but a lesson nonetheless. We've all been there one way or another.

MOD ANNOUNCEMENTPer Forum Rule 9 (quoted below) I am closing this thread.
It seems that, at best, the thread has turned into a discussion on bypassing restrictions set by a business/company on their own property which is lent to an employee -- which can "get us into trouble" with companies employing such protocols. At worst, this assists in bypassing security measures on a stolen device -- which can "get us into trouble" with manufacturers or law enforcement.
