I've been looking all over and there only seems to be unofficial cm roms for the Sprint variant of the s4 mini. Where's PA or Slim for this model? xda seems inundated with roms for the gt variants of the s4 mini but sph has very little. Anyone know why that is?
I havent found much but im a noob. I have the same phone how did you happen to root and did you install a recovery? Oh also are you on KitKat?
I used Kongo root. It was very easy to root. I'm on the unofficial cm12.1 ROM. Is great but it doesn't have pie controls which is something I got used to when I was using liquidsmooth ROM on my last phone and really liked. Its nice to have android L though and everything runs very smoothly.
Wow no way! Do you know where I could get a recovery and a stable cm rom to flash to my sprint l520? Also do you mean kingo root? Oh also should I update to 4.4.2 before trying to root?Thank you!

I don't know if you need to update or not. I doubt you would need to but don't take my word for it.
Doesn't it say lte and SMS arent work on that rom?
Also was your phone on 4.4.2 when you did it?
Did you use kingoroot or kingroot?
Do you know how I flash the recovery?
they're working fine for me. Yeah, I believe so. Kingoroot. I got a microsd card from walmart and put the recovery and I think I put the flashr apk on it if I remember correctly and flashed it through that on the rom that I had that was broken (the haptic feedback buttons weren't working and it was meant for the gsm model so it couldn't connect to mobile or wifi and it had a whole host of other issues but it was capable of installing apps on my sd card). Then I went into recovery and flashed the sph-l520 rom and everything's been good with it so far.
You used a flash app like flashify from the rom to flash the recovery? Cool

So I need some advice on which ROM to flash back on my phone. I am new to custom ROMs and managed to hard brick my phone. I am going to try a Jig to see if I can get into download mode, however, if I do that I am not sure what ROM to flash back onto my phone. It's a galaxy S3 i747. When this all started I was running JB 4.1.1 on it. Then I flashed CM10 and that went great. After I flashed CM10 my phone said that I was on JB 4.3. Did CM update JB and the bootloader? I know that trying to flash an older bootloader can cause troubles. Afater I had CM running I tried to flash LeanKernel and this is when I bricked my phone. So my questions is, do I need to flash the ROM for JB4.1.1 or for JB 4.3? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look buddy, the first thing you want to do is flash the latest STOCK rom for you're model. After you've done that you can now backup you're stock rom via recovery (TWRP recommended), after that you now have a stable rom to return to just in case you fail to flash a custom rom. And I would recommend one of the stock mod roms to get the use of all of Samsung's exclusive features. Good luck, and feel free to ask any more questions.

Hey thanks. I really appreciate the help. I got in a little over my head so I'm just trying to get ahead of the learning curve as quick as possible. Now I've searched around for the stock 4.3 flash able ROM and am having trouble finding a clear cut download for it. Do you have a recommendation of where I can find the JB 4.3 stock to flash with ODIN?

There isn't an odin flashable 4.3 rom for i747. The last thing there is is 4.1.1 then the 4.3 you would take as an ota. I highly doubt cm updated your bootloader. Floating around the forums is an sd unbrick method. You could try that. I don't have experience with it, but quite a few people have. Good luck.

Maybe this would work : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498233 Do some research on it first then let me know. And if you want a good and stable custom rom I recommend using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504903. Just don't choose the note 3 option, choose the stock.

This is the rom I used to root it a year ago when I got the phone. Would this be a suitable choice to un-brick my phone?

That is only a method used to root you're phone, not to unbrick it.

But to root I flashed a ROM with Odin. The ROM is linked on that page. At least that is my understanding of how rooting works. Wouldn't that've a good ROM to use to un-brick?
Have you ever updated your phone to 4.3?

Not entirely sure. Never updated to 4.3 on a stock ROM. It was on JB 4.1 before I flashed CM10. However once I flashed CM10 the settings page said my phone was on JB 4.3. So not sure if the bootloader got updated or not.
Thanks so much everyone for the help. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately the Jig did not work, so it is all a moot point in the end. Looks like the phone is going off to get JTAGed.
Hello, I moved onto a Note 3 but I recently took my VZW Galaxy Nexus out of the drawer it was in and I am going to use it as a secondary device at home on wifi only.
I'm rooted and running a 4.2.2 ROM, can I simply flash a Kit Kat ROM?
On the Note 3 there was a very specific process to upgrade involving flashing firmware update in odin.
Is anything like that required here or can I just flash a KK ROM like any other ROM?
Thanks in advance for the help. I feel like I should know this but when I went from ISC to JR back in the day, I took the VZW update and just maintained root with supersu pro.

Make sure you have the latest recovery twrp or cwm. Also make sure to use kitkat gapps. Everything thing will just work like normal as far as installing.
Thanks much. I was hoping it'd be this easy.
I am just now modding my SGH-I215M - as I have just rooted using CF-Auto root method. Now I am looking to install a recovery and a custom ROM. Before I do that, I wanted to make sure that the SGH-I317 Roms can be flashed on the M variant (Canadian).
Also, for installing a recovery - which version am I to use? the ATT or Canadian (t0ltecan) version? Goo manager said no files were found for my phone :S
You mean i317m right? I dont think there is a phone with the code i215m. In which case the Att ones will work fine. They have identical hardware

Thanks - Yes, that was a typo. Also, since I have updated OTA to 4.4.2, does that mean I have to downgrade my bootloader for ROM like DN3 V5?
I managed to get TWRP working on my phone, so now I should be able to wipe date in recovery and flash any ROM in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II Forums?
Hi folks. Long time rooter/rom user of phones and tablets. I have some questions for my V500
Since it is rooted, would this be the next step - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2641409
(Installing TWRP for a custom recovery)
Since I'm on 4.4.2 with a V50020d base, would I then focus on getting 4.4.2 base roms and flash them via that TWRP I installed?
This does seem like a really fun and snappy device. From what I can tell, it has an IR Blaster right? Are there any roms that don't work with the blaster (I see this sometimes in the Galaxy Tab roms for devices that have the IR blaster)
Once you root, the next step is installing TWRP so you can install roms.
I also have the V50020d UK version.
Stumproot which is available here worked fine for me, easiest root i have ever done. Just install apk and your done.
Installing and getting custom recovery to successfully flash a ROM is another story. I have managed to get TWRP flashed to the device and boots correctly. However it fails when i try to flash CM11 or any other ROM. After reading around I think I may have to downgrade the stock 4.4.2 to 4.2.2 in order to get TWRP to flash. I am not struggling to find the correct stock 4.2.2 kdz firmware for the v50020d device.
It's been a bit of a head scratcher! Let me know how you get on with yours.
Cracked it today. I've written a guide for all UK users who are stuck with V50020d, compiling all the info. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-pad-83/help/v50020d-uk-root-twrp-flash-stock-4-4-2-t2938914
Hope it helps

I did mine with towelroot. I'll be looking to flash a custom recovery soon. I wanted to pop in here first to double check before going ahead with a recovery and a rom.
I new to LG and have 2 of these for my boys.
I have a us and uk one, i assume these will need different ways of rooting and flashing twrp etc?
I rooted one with Kingoroot no issues, but damn, getting cwm to install is a mare.
Both mine are on 4.4.2.
Looked at so many tuts, they all change due to time and i had to give up as was draining me.
Any tips on how to get cwm installed fella.
Best wishes

Thank you Delta. I will check it out ASAP.
I used the CM installer, and for some reason it installed a D2ATT ROM on my SGH-T999V. Everything seems to be working ok though. I'm not using a SIM card in the phone, so it won't matter if the radio is wrong (I think). I guess I'm just wondering if I should install stock firmware with Odin and then flash the right CM version or just keep using it as it is. Can anyone please give me advice on this?
Yes, its fine
Thanks
If a build is specifically made for the d2att, it may not load. A better choice would be to use unified builds for the s3.
