I have Optimus G (E975 Poland) with version E97510B (4.1.2) on board from the begging. Today LGMobile Support Tool said to me that it has version E97510D for my phone. I will flash this as soon as my battery will have better level. I don't know what has changed because there is no changelog.
There is no update by OTA in Android. It says that I have actual version.
STEPS:
STEP 1:
(picture 1)
Downloading (very slowly, about 200-300 kbytes/s). It will took about 40 minutes to download 982 MBytes.
Stucked on 52%, I had to restart this. It looks like now it is downloading faster and it should take only 8 minutes. I have my full speed 20 mbits/s
It took 25 minutes to download it. Sometimes faster, sometimes slowe.
STEP 2:
(picture 2)
Unpacking
STEP 3:
(picture 3)
Downloading to phone. One phone ther is "DOWNLOAD MODE DO NOT UNPLUG.." red text on small white box.
RESTART OF THE PHONE ON 94% .... PROGRESS BAR STILL MOVING UNTIL IT REACHES 100%
STEP 4:
(picture 4)
Program says tha "update is completed"
Phone has run updating process by app optimalisation.
DONE.
It is still Android 4.1.2 , compilation JZ054K
Software version: E97510d-260-06
I lost my root. I will give screenshots after rooting.... I hope so....
I cannot find anything new. Probably this is some kind of stability/bugs update.
Rooted with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181103
No problems at all.
I've addes screenshots of system information before and after the update. Only one letter has been changed.
Kernel is dated 2013.03.16 so it is probably new version.
I have the same, E97510b Denmark. But my LG Software tells me that my phone doesnt support upgrade.. And OTA theres no software either :-\

EDIT: Because 'LGMobile Support Tool' will not tell you this: it needs to be 50% of battery to start process of upgrading.
Cool thanks for posting

I have 83% charge, and both LG Support and PC Suite tells me that their isn any updates for my phone .. which is odd since I have the same model, just living in a other part of europe ..
Nothing here also.
I guess we'll just have to wait in western europe

It not works like that. It doesn't matter how much battery you have when you are checking for update, but when update starts (after clicking update) new window will open and it will immediatelly stop after telling you that your battery has too less power. When battery has more than 50% then it will start to download.

There is only one ROM version for whole Europe: Western, Eastern, Southern, Northern, Central and every name you will give. One Europe to rule them all
If you have E97510B you should be updated. Probably they don't want to have servers stucked and they are rolling updates by countries.
I have 97510b-eur-xx and as I said, no update.
Do anyone know what this update actually does? Battery fix? 4.2? anything at all, block root, bootloader etc?

Rooting method is working fine. I don't know about bootloader as I see no reason to unlock it (LGs ROM is as far 'stock Android' as I like and their changes are only for good.)
About battery: I don't know.
OS version is exactly the same: 4.2.1
I have feeling that Camera is less noisy in dark scenes, but it has to be investigated.
Okay, I think I wait then - cause CM for E975 has come out and I really want that since I hate the stock rom.. doesn like the apps and menu layouts (yea I use Nova Launcher, but still)
In india,
Today i'l get the update
Only 6.97 mb,
nuth for my E975 in DK yet
Update server unavailable. I feel it's coming.

E: Server back online, but no update.
If you have rooted the device and unlocked the bootloader, you won't see the update or you won't be able to update.i had to flash stock kdz, only then it saw the update.it was 8.49 mb,something related to lte connection, making it visible on settings.i had 10c,now it shows 10d.rooted and unlcked normally with fiddy's script and freegee.no problems at all.
No big deal with the update

No updates available in Italy......
But your polish phone is with carrier or no brand?
I was rooted but not unlocked. There was nothing in OTA but lg tool updated phone to version D. Probably OTA version has only what changes and lg tool has always full Rom to update.

I heard that I won't be able to change it back to official anymore? Is that true? And I know how to flash it now thanks to sammobile
You can still update even on custom, mine received two updates so far but only automatically. You can't manually check for the OTA update when in custom. I know this because I've experienced it.
Or you can install xposed frameworks from the web and get wanam from play store, spoof software status to official and check for OTA updates no problem. Root requires for this method. All these steps are in XDA somewhere, just have to search a little. (Not necessarily on this forum but all Samsung device forums)
Please forgive me I'm too lazy to post a link for you and its hard for me to find it right now because I'm on mobile.

That's absolutely fine. Thanks for your help though, greatly appreciated. You see this is my first Samsung device that's why I'm so concerned and confused.. I'm concerned because if I sell this tablet to anyone they would probably be mad about being it on custom status and can't manually check for software updates. But thanks for giving great info. One question though, will my Knox trip again if I reroot? Knox 0x2?
Tab Pro 8.4
I've rooted many times but stayed on 0x1. Not sure what else can tick more. I've rooted and installed custom ROM on many occasions but stayed on 1.

It will official. That is true. I flashed firmware before on my Trend Lite and it is official still
I just recently purchased the S4 Mini i9195 factory unlocked phone preinstalled with KitKat and was wondering whether or not to accept a small 33mb update? (See pictures)
I plan to shortly root my phone but I'm wondering whether or not this update will hinder me further in the routing process. I know the bootloader in KitKat is already knox enabled, but I'm worried this update will patch the use of things like towel root?
Should I be safe to update?
I dont think so. I mean it does not matter if you update or not, it can be easily rooted. For example i keep flasing custom roms and sometimes i flash the stock firmware also. And last time ( 4 days back) when i flashed the stock firmware (4.4.2) there were some updates available( forgot...may be around 50 mb) and i went for it. The only changes i saw were some new apps installed. Again yesterday i flashed a custom rom, root was there.
Note: my device s4 mini (duos) GTI9192.

If the firmware on your phone is build earlier then june 2014 u can use towelroot . Do not update yet until u investigate what version u have atm on your phone. If u have an build after that date, if u update or not is egal, u can`t use toweltoor and u must root with other methods that will most likely trigger Knox to 0x1
L.E. Now i saw second screen, u have an build older then june 2014 .
U can try to flash an stock kernel for 4.4.2 earlier then june . towelroot it, then flash stock kernel what u have now ( extract from rom u download from sammobile )
So yeah I got impatient and updated my stock firmware OTA and now my build and kernel are dated March 23rd 2015. Still 4.4.2.
I tried towel root before and after the update and yeah it didn't work.
@SilviuMik
If I were to flash a previous 4.4.2 kernel would that maybe trip knox?
I'm so used to having a rooted phone I don't want to have to wait 6 months before I'm sure my phone doesn't have any faults before tripping the knox and voiding my warranty.
Only thing that is really holding me back from rooting is that I've heard some reports of people saying that tripping knox causes issues with the phone like poorer signal... though I'm hoping this is a myth.

As i said many times ... i don`t have knox at all. All i "try to help" is from what i read here and there . In theory when u flash a stock kernel it should not trigger knox. But then again, some ppl triggered knox just by applying OTA so ... try to figure
For first just see if u have that big problem with battery draining in deep sleep with all OFF ( wifi / 3g / gps etc )
If u do, first go and replace phone / motherboard until u get one without this bug . Then look for root and so . ( i can live without root, i don`t need it at all, but i have a heavy debloated rom )

Many thanks for your help! Tripping knox from an OTA? That's a *****. You'll have to forgive me for making you repeat yourself, I always find it a little daunting with a new phone. I've done a lot reading here on the S4 Mini forum and seen many people have different results. Being as there are at least 4 different S4 Mini phones and many stock versions. I just like to be 100% sure when messing with my phone.
As for the hardware battery drain bug I think I may be all good. I tested my phones battery drain over the first night with everything but phone signal turned off and had 0% drain over 8 hours. Couldn't find a phone build date or country of manufacture anywhere on the phone or box, but the battery was made in march of this year, so I'm guessing I have one of the latest production models. Though I'm sure I've read a couple of people were maybe hit with this bug months down the line. Fingers crossed this doesn't happen.
My next step now is to re read everything again on here and find a safe way to root with my current firmware.
It may be my imagination but after that last small update things seem to be smoother than on my November 2014 firmware. But that might be all in my head.
Again thank you for your advice with my new phone.
One last thing. With this update. Has the "BOOTLOADER RP SWREV" increased on the new update or has it always been 2? Maybe my imagination again... took a picture.
I also count 5 different apps with "knox" in their title. Sure I read there was only 4 before?

Bootloader v2 comes with late jellybean builds / new kitkat builds . So u had v2 with nov update.
http://pastebin.com/JCKYULfp knox apk`s
There are more i did not discover yet , for example there is a libknox.so file that when u delete u can`t boot your phone anymore.
My note download The update and instal only 26% and get error!! WHY?
I think there is an error with the August security patch OTA update as I had the same issue. I downloaded the latest firmware from SamMobile and flashed with Odin and everything works fine.
I think sammy rerelease the good ota update!if care about us!

seems to be a common problem with the 10+ 5G, Samsung has pulled the update so have to assume it had a fault in it and not just the way the file was uploaded/downloaded. if it was just the way the file was on the server you would have assumed it would be a quick swap rather than totally pulling the update.
working now
Hi guys, I just bought a brand new note 10+ N975W (canada version). I'm on stock firmware. It keep asking me to update. Shall I update? which version is best to keep the battery last as long as possible?
Also, can i downgrade to previous versions or stock if i dont like the upgraded firmware?
Yes update. It's probably just security updates at this point, so there would be no reason to go back. The Note 10 firmware is fairly mature by now.
chances are if you bought it recently it is already an updated firmware unless the store is running really old stock, as they tend to produce the devices with the latest firmware at the time of manufacture. basically you would need to find a phone that was manufactured before any updates to get the original stock firmware.
chances are any phone produced this year likely has Android 10 pre installed instead of Android 9 and a much more recent security patch, so in that case you may as well update the phone as it is already updated to an extent.
as for downgrading to an actual launch firmware it's not possible as every so often they make a change that can't be reversed so it stops you going to an older firmware (I know it happend with both Android 10 and the One UI update, there are likely more points)
but in terms of battery use, everyone's numbers will differ no matter the firmware as a lot of it comes down to settings, what its used for and the environment it is ran in.

Since the phone is new. Before getting to far into configuration, run the update, then do a factory reset. It'll do a fresh install of Android 10 and any security updates.
That will give you a nice clean install you can then setup.

You should always update. They are mostly Security Updates, these are for security reasons (Hence the name ). Yeah there are some system modifications and enhancements too but the main reason is to ensure the device is as secure as possible
Is there a custom firmware that works perfectly?
can i root my device?
can i flash to another firmware? Asia firmware for exemple
what are the apps that i can't miss on note 10+?
which firmware that has vietnamese language?
thanks
