So I was recently able to root my s6, however now I cannot return it to complete stock.
Whenever I try to unroot my phone via Odin and g920p oh1 firmware, it gives a nandwrite error.
When I try to do it via kies/SS I get to the point where I need to input a serial number, just to have it tell me I'm wrong.
Also I used romified and it would stay at the Dodge logo. Edgar's roms work though. However, if I Odin any other twrp besides the actual 2.8.7 sprint version, I get errors all around. And while I'm using 2.8.7 sprint twrp, it flips the horizontal touch. So I need a qwerty pad an "A" press would input a "P".
Prior to rooting I was on the newest firmware, oi1.
Is there anyway I'd be able to install firmware via an app? Or help I can get? Any insight would be helpful. Or would I just have to wait for a tar of oi1?

Go to Settings -> Developer Options (click on Build number in the About file if you don't see these options) and be sure that OEM unlocking is set to On. Then try using Odin to install the OH1 firmware again.
OEM unlock isn't appearing.

I did yeah. Apparently it was just xtref not having the option. So I flashed ramified and was finally able to tick oem unlock.
However, I still can't get it to flash stock firmware via odin.

I see your problem now. "Prior to rooting I was on the newest firmware, oi1." Because you updated to that, you will not be able to revert to an older firmware.
However you are very fortunate. Please see http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920P/
Grab the OI1 Firmware there and you should be able to Odin that.

I had was running CyanogenMod 10 or 11 on my unlocked Samsung Galaxy S III - I747. I think before CyanogenMod, I had Android 4.3 OTA. I wanted to go back to stock At &T and downloaded original firmware from sammobile. tried to use different versions of Odin but no success. Everytime I used to get this kind of error.

and KIES was of no use as it did not recognize my I747 on cyanogenMod. Today someone told me that I could get it restored on KIES from tools menu.
-Turned phone off, pulled battery out.
-On Kies, tools> Restore and initialization (?) then input model and serial no. Gave me firmware....... proceeded. After sometime booted phone on download mode but kies failed and gave me message saying emergency recovery code but there was no code. Code space was blank. Now my phone screen show
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again,"
every time I press power button it goes to same screen. I can get to download mode but can do nothing as ODIN is not working or giving me same error. Booting onto recovery mode gives me same "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" error.
What can I do to get my phone back on working condition. Stupid me, I am expecting to get some job interview calls tomorrow and do not have extra phone o put sim on.
Please help me, My external SD card on phone has recovery image (?) of CyanogenMod if I can get to custom recovery but can not. I would take it in Cyanogenmod if not to stock as long as it gets on working condition.
Thank you
Your phone has the the stock 4.3 bootloader and using Odin to flash a stock ROM could have bricked your phone. Do not use Odin unless the 4.3 ROM has been compiled for use with Odin.
I recommend using Odin to flash the latest d2lte tar recovery. Then copy a custom KK ROM to your SD card and flash that instead of trying to flash a stock ROM.

Out of desperation, i flashed cf autoroot md5 by chainfire using odin that brought my phone back to life ie cyanogenmod 10.
Now when i try to update cyanogenmode i get signature verification fail message. I dont know what is the issue here.
Thanks

Are you trying to upgrade to CM11? All Kit Kat ROMs require a up-to-date recovery.
I soft bricked my phone somehow, no clue. My phone was fine, battery died with no downloads, or anything running, went to turn it back on after plugging it in to find it bricked at the Samsung start screen.
I've tried restoring it with Kies, which won't recognize my phone is plugged in(??).
I've tried restoring it in Odin with Kies uninstalled, it keeps failing though.

My Note 2 has never been rooted, and I'm completely at a loss as to what has happened. I've tried different USB cords and slots around my laptop, but don't have another computer I can try it on currently.
Also, After trying Kies and Odin I noticed in the top left corner of my Note's screen, KNOX WARRANTY VOID changed from 0 to 1, not sure what that means either!
Any suggestions? I'm lost without my phone!
Edit:
After ODIN fails, my phone says unsupported version also in the top left corner. I've tried 3 different stock ROMs.
Edit 2:
And now I can't get into the boot menu, just the download menu.
Kies also won't recognize that my phone is connected now.
Find latest firmware for your region and device and use Odin to flash it.
Regarding the file in your Odin log seems to be old firmware.
I've tried at least 4 different firmware versions, and am having no luck with any of them. Should I be looking for one that includes the OTA update from back in the winter?

Kittylee, take a look at this video " youtube . com / watch?v=GbAJH_mL6N4" I've downloaded the rar version of the clockwork recovery for my GT-N7100 from this site "galaxynote2root . com / cwm-recovery /" you have to choose the "RAR" version since it's thhe one odin uses.
OBS.: Remove the spaces from the links
It worked for me. try it.

Got it un-bricked! I was able to find the latest firmware on SamMobile's website, I can't link it though due to being a new user.

Which version of andriod is it?
Hello guys,
I hope you are all doing well and i am here to see if you are able to help me. So, i tried to install TWRP and apparently i did it with the wrong version because now my phone is stuck in the Logo screen with the red message reading that recovery is not seandroid enforcing. I have been reading around and people say i should go into recovery mode and try to factory reset, the problem is that i can't go into recovery mode since pressing volumeup/home/power doesn't work, the only thing that works is me pressing volumedown/home/power which brings me into Download mode, so i looked around and found out that an easy solution for this is to download your stock rom and flash it with ODIN3. The problem here is that with OI1 update, Odin flash is not working properly so when i try to install my stock rom, which i am guessing is this one: G920PVPU2BOH1_G920PSPT2BOH1_G920PVPU2BOH1_HOME.tar Odin prompts me with this:

I am really desperate here as i don't know what to do anymore, i flashed V-Kernel-925P-BOFE-071915 and it installs successfully but this doesn't seem to help at all. Before i tried TWRP my phone was working fine, rooted with UniKernel_v8-0001-BOH1-920P-091215, what i was trying to do was install TWRP so i could install a custom ROM since Sprint one was full of security checks.
Now i can't even access my phone anymore which has me really concerned.
If anyone has any clue of what i should do please lend me a hand, i will certainly thank you for it.

Also the TWRP ui touch is flipped horizontally, what i mean is whatever icon i press on the left side of the phone and its sub menus only activate the buttons on the opposite (right side). Does anyone know the reason for this?

Hey I recently ran into this same problem and I've been up all night trying to figure it out. Can you please guide me on how to fix this please, much appreciated
Phone: SM-N900T Note 3 T-Mobile
Long story short, I've soft bricked by wife's phone while trying to do a CF autoroot with Odin.
The error i'm receiving is:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
I've tried hooking it up to Kies (Kies Lite) to run the Emeregency Firmware Recovery, but Kies won't recognise the device.
It just sit's there saying connecting.
I've tried using Odin to flash the stock firmware and I get a error after Nand Write.

I then came across this method below for using Heimdall to flash a recovery and I can't get past the Libusb -12 error on multiple computers/laptops.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545009
I've tried using Zadig.exe and replacing the MSM8960 Drivers with the libsub-win32 drivers which cause gave an error.
I'm at a loss now as how to proceed, i'm no expert on rooting, but i've rooted my own Note 3 and now my Note 4 with no problem.
Any help would be appreciated in getting this running, as we don't have money to get a new phone for my wife since we just had our first baby and finances are tight.

I've used the original note 3 cable, a note 4 cable and different usb ports.
I've tried it on two desktops and a laptop. The rom isn't the latest from sammobile, i'm trying to flash to original stock rom that it came with 4.4.2.
Should I be trying to flash 5.0?
Thank you though for the response. I was getting a little disheartened with the lack of them.
Yes, try flashing the latest lp rom.
firmware upgrade
I had the same problem ( firmware upgrade encountered a problem) what I found is the one needs to use a windows laptop or desktop with windows 7 installed and use the original cable, Odin 3.09 and find the ( HLTE_USA_TMO.pit ) file, search xda for the file. Put the phone in download mode and then run odin after the phone is connected choose pit tab and add the pit file then next click nand erase all, after that go to ap and put the lollipop firmware i used N900TUVSPL1_N900TTMBLPL1_TMB-v5.0.1 then click start and let it run. It should go thru the whole process, when done and phone reboots into the white tmobile screen turn the phone off and press the power, volume up and home button right after phone turns off to get to the stock recovery and while there select the factory/data reset and hit the power button, then reboot phone and that will boot up the phone and get you to the start screen. I hope this works for you and anybody else with this problem i worked with mine.
Hi all,
I am failing to flash anything I try to, with the errors you can see in the screesnhot.
Odin fails as well on everything with
Complete (write) operation failed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kmosh.
Dunno because I can't tell what you're trying to do to?
From that snapshot, it looks like you're trying to flash something in stock recovery. Stock recovery only allows verified OTA to flash manually so it rejects it. Are you trying to flash a zip from sdcard in stock recovery?
A snapshot of phone when Odin fails might help. Does it say something like rejected by R/L? That would mean you have reactivation lock enabled in Settings/Security. Boot system, unlock lock-screen, open Settings and unlock it.
A snapshot of Odin log would help too. What are you trying to flash? Did you verify md5 against the zip when you downloaded (zipped re-uploaded tar.md5 usually include a md5 to check)? Did you drag the tar.md5 of the zip to folder after right click/show archive? Which stock tar, tar.md5, img.tar or root are you trying to flash in Odin?
Regarding the questions above, you can only Odin stock tars for Android 5.1 and 6.0+ if your bootloader is updated past Android 5.0
So there are limits to what and where you can flash. It's not clear what you're doing so I need more input if my reply doesn't help any.
Make sure your reactivation lock is unlocked, enable USB debug in engineering mode. Make sure Samsung USB driver for PC is installed. Use stock USB cable if possible but any certified cable with data lines should work. Make sure you see COM added in Odin when you USB connect to flash (before you start flash). And watch Odin log and phone screen for errors.
If you're truly stuck and can't flash anything, you may have wiped system while reactivation lock was enabled (this only applies to newer bootloader on Android 5.1 and up). This trips and activates factory reset protection. If you suspect that happened, you need to Odin the update the phone was on before you wiped. You will need to sign in with same Google user and password that was registered before the wipe during setup wizard.
Another workaround that once worked for issue above was to flash Chainfire Auto Root for Note 4 and auto reboot. Depends on if OS was actually wiped though. Won't boot without OS.

I could be wrong but it looks like you're on an older bootloader that doesn't include the reactivation lock.
But it's not rooted and not writing because it encountered an eMMC error.
Correct? It's covered under factory warranty or other warranty? I wouldn't advise rooting or further flashing but return for replacement immediately.
IMO, the eMMC failure on Note 4 is all too common. It's been known to happen when flashing or taking an OTA. I wouldn't recommend volunteering that you tried to flash it though. Just say it failed on OTA update.

Thanks samep,
I do not live in the US, and the phone was sent to me as a gift.
So actually at this point it is just a brick for me, tho fully working, just locked with fingerprint and code which I can't obtain.
I don't mind trying anything that will give me access to the phone and use it, even by deleting everything.
would you suggest re-partition?
It may have the earlier version of reactivation lock on it. In that case, the OS is still intact but you run the risk of tripping an efuse fixing this with Odin.
Given what you replied with, the registered fingerprints are unknown and the backup password is unknown as well? The person gifting that gem must have a sense of humor. It would be best if the original gifter could forward the backup password. Once in the Settings, disable the reactivation lock in Security, remove the user accounts and factory reset within Settings before trying to do anything with it. (If the phone was setup in advance to use on your carrier, don't factory reset).
I can't help any further but if you'll Google Factory Reset Protection, you may find blog posts and YouTube videos showing how to get past that with OTG and downloads.
FWIW, I don't think Sprint phones make good gifts nor should they be considered easily unlocked to use on another carrier. Sprint OS and Samsung's regional lock are other obstacles to consider. But it's not within my knowledge base to say for certain how bad things actually are. It has been done. I welcome another's help in this thread.
