How to allow file or turn off built in antivirus? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

I'm trying to install some software but it's detecting it as malware or something. How do I disable the built in antivirus? I already disabled the Google app checker.

Allow the unknown sources? Have you checked that?

What wireless tether app are you using?
...more information would be helpful.

You can also check your SuperUser app and check if you accidentally chose Deny when the app requested permissions...If so, just remove that entry and run the app again.

App to block outside connections?

I'm looking for an app that will make another app think my phone doesn't have an Internet connection. Is there such a thing?

Only if you're rooted.
DroidWall or AFWall can block network connections. They both use the kernel's iptables firewall to block connections. Both are excellent (and free!) apps, but DroidWall isn't maintained anymore.
If you don't want an app to be able to check if you're connected at all (I'm not sure what purpose that would serve), you might check out PDroid. It lets you tell all sorts of lies to apps. Of course, it requires ROM support. If you have to ask, your ROM doesn't support it .

VPN issues

Hi guys
My phone refuses to display the VPN dialogue to disconnect from a VPN after pressing the icon from the status bar. Connecting is not an issue but disconnecting from the VPN without resetting the WiFi is.
I'm also using onavo extend, and I'll always get the toast "Couldn't start VPN".
Anyone knows what's the issue here or am I missing some system apps
Appreciate any help
Thanks

Maybe this reply is too late but I was having the same problem on Nexus 5 and I was googling for a solution. I couldn't find any so I tried further and found that after disabling an Xposed module called XHaloFloatingWindow, I could start the onavo vpn service successfully. Maybe you should try to disable this module if you are using it or some other similar system ui mods.

Att apps

I was wondering if I were to delete the att apps (att hotspots, att nav. etc.) Would that cause any unwanted side effects?

Dont know what you mean by delete? If you mean disable? No, it will not hurt to disable those apps. Those are on just about every att phone. There are lists every where showing you what apps you can disable. Just goole em and you will see. If your rooted. There is a very good app called systemCleanup that will tell what apps are safe. Either way you choose. Both are good options. Search or systemCleanup.

Sounds good, I have clean master which says that there could be problems if I uninstalled them

Just disable those apps if You are not sure. Mostly these apps will show "problems if uninstalled" as they are installed via Your update directly, but don't cause any issues if uninstalled. You can always experiment by taking backup of the app, then uninstall it. If nothing is wrong, then fine, else You can restore them.
Disabling them caused no issues but what I am really trying to do I get control of my hotspot/tethering without the need of an app like foxfi when I try to turn them on, please contact att, but since my phone is unlocked and I am not with att there is nothing they can do.

Yes, if your trying to use the hotspot in settings thats going to happen. That is tied in directly to your phone. Which is a att phone. You are essentially running a att rom. The only other way that I would know of. Would be to use a different carrier rom. But then you open up to other issues that would not be good. Just stick with foxfi. Be happy it works. For alot of us. It no longer does.

I figured that was the case, anyway, I really like the foxfi app because it hides your tethering usage from your carrier

Auto disable wifi

What would be the easiest way to have my phone auto disable wifi and re-enable it when I return home?

Snapdragon battery guru app has a wifi manager in it. If you were on tmobile it has a wifi manager built in to the myaccount app.
Skiplock is very usefull, automatically connect with wifi networks you add and you can customize it so that when connected to home wifi you can bypass the unlock! It is in Google play!
I use green power app
Better wifi on off by chamonix. Search for his thread on xda. It gives total control of wifi behaviour.
