Hi guys
My phone refuses to display the VPN dialogue to disconnect from a VPN after pressing the icon from the status bar. Connecting is not an issue but disconnecting from the VPN without resetting the WiFi is.
I'm also using onavo extend, and I'll always get the toast "Couldn't start VPN".
Anyone knows what's the issue here or am I missing some system apps
Appreciate any help
Thanks

Maybe this reply is too late but I was having the same problem on Nexus 5 and I was googling for a solution. I couldn't find any so I tried further and found that after disabling an Xposed module called XHaloFloatingWindow, I could start the onavo vpn service successfully. Maybe you should try to disable this module if you are using it or some other similar system ui mods.

Under the trevemod setup for our s4 , there are many replies by many xda members who are having trouble with the new hotspot shield vpn connection..
For me unlike the new version the old version it would initially connect on any device I had.
This device "s4 and the NEW updated hotspot vpn shield won't connect some say...
It just says connecting turns yellow then stops icon turns red back and forth.
EDIT: FIX
Restart device after you have vpn shield installed and tether set up.
THE Vpn shield will connect green
You could try infamous rom. Has native tethering to an extent. Have to set it up in settings and then turn it on through a widget from play store.

It has never worked for me. I still get the my tmobile page everytime I use tethering.
The method worked for me, Just install Hspot vpn shield ..and reboot it does take 5-10seconds longer than the older version app used to take to connect green, but it will.

Hey folks,
I'm having some problems with my note 2 GT N7100, I can't connect to the internet, my mobile data is active though it's not working, it works only with whatsapp, then my wifi won't connect, it keeps saying "Obtaining IP adress" and nothing happens after, and yes I am rooted and I guess my problem is because of a root app.
More infos on the attachements, it would be great if someone could help me solve this problem.
Thanks guys.
Can you go to the internet using your mobile data? And did you put in your WiFi password correctly?

Well I made a hard reset and installed a new firmware, now it's working fine, it's just that Google Play stopped working.. I'm getting the 500 error while trying to download any app. I guess my phone is not feeling good these days.
Custom firmware? Maybe try reinstalling gapps again. It seems to solve most of my Google play issues.

No, the official Samsung's 4.1.2 firmware, well I have solved the problem, it has nothing to do with deleting Google Play's cache or deleting Dalvik cache or whatever, since I am rooted and I have Xposed installer, I used to use Hack connectivity module and it seems that it was blocking my wifi access so just by deleting it everything went good. Lucky me. Thanks bro for your help.
For some days no vpn working for me previously it was working fine although they are connected but show no traffic i m on stock 4.4.2 how to solve this can anyone help me?

maybe uts just then that normal vpn usage is disabled in your country, try searching for articles in your country about vpn, my aunt also had that problem, she shifted to another vpn provider that is situated in the country she is in. and it worked.

Does anyone know of a way to not have the 4G Icon always showing on the status bar while the WiFi icon is showing?

dont think there is one. maybe with root you could change the icons but doubtful
I was able to do it with a bunch of xposed mods. I just flashed a fresh ROM once I figure it out I'll post it here.

Yes. There's no way to remove it without root

As others have said, there's no way to remove it without root.
The reason it stays lit is because, even though Verizon hasn't enabled it yet, some of the necessary system files for VoLTE (voice over LTE) are already installed on the phone. Once enabled, an active LTE connection will be required for VoLTE to work, even when connected to WiFi. Data isn't being transmitted, and once VoLTE is enabled, only call data will be transmitted (which won't count against your data allowance unless you're doing a video call).
For anyone who is interested to remove the 4G icon while on WiFi you must be rooted and have xposed framework installed.
Its simple just download "Samsung data connection icon fix" mod in exposed downloads enable, reboot and enjoy!
