Hi recently I bought 2 LG G3's (D855)
1 Black
1 White
The Black one is for my girlfriend, I received it with the original seal broken and replaced by another where as my white LG was not.
The black LG is displaying
"Charging slowly with charger/USB. Connect to a standard charger to charge faster"
I compared both of our chargers when they arrived and they both look identical.
I have tried another working charger and it still displays the same message.
The white LG is totally fine with charging.
Not had much chance to tinker around with it as of yet just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and solved it.
Thanks in advance.

If you're literally charging from a USB connected to a computer it actually outputs less power. However, if you're plugged into the wall this can be a problem. Have you tried the same exact outlet? Output can vary from outlet to outlet.

I am talking about plugged into the wall not charging via USB from computer, it displays the message as if it is connected to a computer and not the wall which is confusing and yes I've tried. I did a search on Google about this problem, it seemed a few people experienced this with LG G3's but could not find an answer. Its quite a bit problem as a full charge takes about 12 hours.

If you're rooted you can remove that message so you don't see it, but other than that I would contact whomever you purchased it from and tell them about it. Sorry for not having any other solutions.

My white one is rooted but I wasn't intending on rooting my girlfriends LG in case she bricks it lol..
I was maybe thinking its a software problem, I will try and update it or maybe flash it, see if the problem still occurs. Either way I'll update this post if I fix it so it can help others.
Thanks for your reply

I know that sometimes with my stock charger because it only outputs 1.1amps I get the slow charging message, it's probably just that the LG stock charger doesn't output enough for android to think it's charging properly (Usually around 1.2-1.5a output). You have to remember, even with it plugged in, the phone is still using power so the amount actually going to your battery isn't 1.1amps, in most cases it's somewhere around 400-600 milli-amps, so I'd say that's why you're getting the message. I know if I use my sister's Galaxy S5 wall charger that outputs 2.1 amps, even when in use the battery still gets 1.2 amps sent to it to charge, and I don't get the slow charging message, so I'd say you just need a higher-output charger (I don't know why LG thought 1.1 amps would be sufficient for a device with a QHD screen..)

So you get the slow charge message with the Stock LG charger to? if so what charger do you use to not get this message? I have tried a few different chargers now and all say the same with the Black LG G3 but all work fine with my White LG G3

I just managed to try my White LG G3 Charger with the Black LG and the message has gone for now
The White Charger is 5V, 1.8A, Don't have the Black one with me at the moment but im guessing its the same as @iDefalt
Still strange how it does this with the black and not the white model both are D855's as my old Samsung charger works fine with my White LG but not with the Black model
Thanks for your guys help :good:

Yeah man, this is definitely weird
I have the same issue too.
I get the error message saying "charging slowly with charger/USB. Connect to a standard charger to charge faster."
I have the black LG-d855 32gb with 02/2015 manufacturing date. My charger outputs 5v 1.8amps (black charger). When I use my Asus 5v 1.3 amp charger (using the same stock lg cable) I get no issues at all and charges the phone fully in less than 2 hours. The stock LG charger wont fully charge my phone overnight (6 hours). I updated to lollipop but still I have the same issue.
Same problem, i have change the usbcable and now all charge good

yup, exactly, the cable or the charger may be not so compatible with the device.

i also experienced same problem with my LG G3 so now i am using samsung's 2 amp charger to charge my lg g3 :crying:
Make sure the usb cable that plugs into the power brick is completely seated.
I had same error and only just now noticed that the plug was only 90% of the way in.
Unplug the usb cable from the power brick and then plug it back in. Use more force than you believe to be necessary, be a macho man!
THe error will go away if the usb cable is all the way seated into the power brick, make sure to push it ALL THE WAY IN.
Try this once

Well for starters have you interchanged the chargers to see if the problem replicates itself on the other phone? Also do remember to interchange BOTH the sable and the power adapter. An adapter can be a problem , but as I found out with my OPPO, just the cable itself can be a problem too.
How it works is that pure data / sync cables have inherently lower charging current. Fast charge cables on the other hand have the data pins (3,4 I guess) shorted out . such fast charge cables have a higher charging current than the sync cables.
Try this
Strp-1. Interchange the whole charging setup between the phones
ie - Replace the black phone's Adapter+Cable (Both) with the White one's adapter+cable , and vice versa. See if you can replicate the same problem on the other phone. If it does , then go to Step 2
Step-2 This Step will tell you if the problem is with your adapter or the cable( it is very much possible) start with the original setup ie the one before step one.
So now try the interchange step separately for the Adapters and the cables.
Ie first just interchange the adapter and if the problem is replicated on the other phone, then the problem is with the adapter. If not , go back to the original setup and interchange just the cables, if you did not see the problem with the adapter , the problem is obviously with cable and this Step will confirm it. You should see the error now when you have interchanged the cables. Best of luck
Hi there,
so i was wondering if anyone has this problem which i have. Recently i installed Ampere app and checked why my chargers aren't working as they suppose to. I have 2 chargers, one original 1,2A and one 2,1A. Also there is one car charger which can use 1A and 2,1A current.
I checked with Ampere and in max. USB curr. i have 900mA. Is it something not normal in E975 or maybe this phone has limit? For less than second after connecting USB cable from charger i see 1500mA in this box and then it changed to 900mA. From calculations it seems 900mA is max (charging around 2,5 hours).
My question is: do i have broken phone or charging is really limited to silly 900mA? Is there any solution to increase that current limit?
the app lies... the phone draws 1.2
So, using 1,2A charger and good cable should be enough to charge it as fast as it is possible? What about using "bigger" charger like 2,1A? From my experience it doesn't speed up whole process but maybe i have some ****ty chargers...
tried with a lg g3 charger (1.8A) and the tool i have to measure ampere showed allitle less! but maybe the tool said wrong... who knows...
Greetings,
I'm have a LG v10 H901 with this wireless charging sticker installed:
"LG V10 Receiver ,Monoy Ultra-thin Qi Standard Wireless Charger Charging Receiver Module for LG V10 (LG V10 Receiver)"
(search this in amazon, I am unable to post links as I am a new user)
However am experiencing very odd behavior, when I place the device on a charging pad the screen turns on and it says the device is charging, however the device will begin to lose charge at a faster rate then normal!
I am very confused by this... Does anyone know what might cause such a thing or how to fix it?
(note: I'm running stock MM that is rooted and has TWRP, if that makes a difference)
~BinaryBench
Install an app like Ampere and check how much current is going in your phone. Generally, wireless charging is not going to give you more than 500mA, which is not enough. Your phone is probably using more current than the wireless charger is able to provide.
Ok, I ran that app while charing with USB, charging with wireless and without charging, this is what I got:
Charging with USB: 530 mA (not quick charge, just normal USB)
Charging with Wireless: Not Charging
Without charging: -230 mA
Any ideas why the wireless charger is giving "Not Charging"? Even if it's there's not enough power it should do something correct?
Ok, as title suggest, I think my charging port may be faulty - Uding Ampere it says I'm recieving, on average, about 700mA's, and it's not consistant, mAs are going up and down constantly between 1000 and as low as 10 - Also says, 3.86volts.
The same cable will deliver a constantly stream of 1200mA's to my Galaxy S5 with a voltage of around 4.021v
So, my question is, is The Tab S charging port faulty? Could someone do me a solid and check their stats with Ampere? Would appreciate it alot. Noticed slow charging after I had plugged in a micro usb to usb port adapter that was a tight fit in The Tab S, So think it may have borked the chergaing port. :crying:
Thanks guys.
You need this one to check which one is bad
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-LCD-Dig...370707?hash=item2ee3bded53:g:ypwAAOSwQItT4JcK
You should use the correct charger 5Volts, 2 Amps output ( it's on the side of your charger ) and correct USB cable ( 2 Amps ).
Use the cable which is rated for 1 amp also gives you the low reading.
The reading for correct charger and cable should be 5 Volts and 1.7 Amps. Test with known good working charger and cable first. If everything is the same, you should test with a new USB flex cable, which is under $10. Go further, it may require advanced knowledge to check battery connectors : on board and the battery cables.
With many variables, nobody can give you the correct answers except yourself by checking one by one : charger, cable, USB port, battery connectors. The last resort is bad mainboard if everything else is checked.
