Hi recently I bought 2 LG G3's (D855)
1 Black
1 White
The Black one is for my girlfriend, I received it with the original seal broken and replaced by another where as my white LG was not.
The black LG is displaying
"Charging slowly with charger/USB. Connect to a standard charger to charge faster"
I compared both of our chargers when they arrived and they both look identical.
I have tried another working charger and it still displays the same message.
The white LG is totally fine with charging.
Not had much chance to tinker around with it as of yet just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and solved it.

If you're literally charging from a USB connected to a computer it actually outputs less power. However, if you're plugged into the wall this can be a problem. Have you tried the same exact outlet? Output can vary from outlet to outlet.

I am talking about plugged into the wall not charging via USB from computer, it displays the message as if it is connected to a computer and not the wall which is confusing and yes I've tried. I did a search on Google about this problem, it seemed a few people experienced this with LG G3's but could not find an answer. Its quite a bit problem as a full charge takes about 12 hours.

If you're rooted you can remove that message so you don't see it, but other than that I would contact whomever you purchased it from and tell them about it. Sorry for not having any other solutions.

My white one is rooted but I wasn't intending on rooting my girlfriends LG in case she bricks it lol..
I was maybe thinking its a software problem, I will try and update it or maybe flash it, see if the problem still occurs. Either way I'll update this post if I fix it so it can help others.

I know that sometimes with my stock charger because it only outputs 1.1amps I get the slow charging message, it's probably just that the LG stock charger doesn't output enough for android to think it's charging properly (Usually around 1.2-1.5a output). You have to remember, even with it plugged in, the phone is still using power so the amount actually going to your battery isn't 1.1amps, in most cases it's somewhere around 400-600 milli-amps, so I'd say that's why you're getting the message. I know if I use my sister's Galaxy S5 wall charger that outputs 2.1 amps, even when in use the battery still gets 1.2 amps sent to it to charge, and I don't get the slow charging message, so I'd say you just need a higher-output charger (I don't know why LG thought 1.1 amps would be sufficient for a device with a QHD screen..)

Lg G3 sold with standard 5V, 1.8A travel charger. If your's different it is wrong charger.

So you get the slow charge message with the Stock LG charger to? if so what charger do you use to not get this message? I have tried a few different chargers now and all say the same with the Black LG G3 but all work fine with my White LG G3

Looks like LG are supplying the wrong charger's for some of there phone's
I just managed to try my White LG G3 Charger with the Black LG and the message has gone for now
The White Charger is 5V, 1.8A, Don't have the Black one with me at the moment but im guessing its the same as @iDefalt
Still strange how it does this with the black and not the white model both are D855's as my old Samsung charger works fine with my White LG but not with the Black model

I have the same issue too.

I have the black LG-d855 32gb with 02/2015 manufacturing date. My charger outputs 5v 1.8amps (black charger). When I use my Asus 5v 1.3 amp charger (using the same stock lg cable) I get no issues at all and charges the phone fully in less than 2 hours. The stock LG charger wont fully charge my phone overnight (6 hours). I updated to lollipop but still I have the same issue.

He and a few days the problem and started connecting the phone with charger original and I will show the message that is loading in usb. then loads very slowly. I tell you that I have two original chargers lg g3. but if I connect it with the charger s5 charge well. Then I did the tests on the TV and radio by connecting usb .but mon makes me the chance to choose the mode of connection. will be four days I noticed these problems.

Today I installed the operating system with the tool, but the problem is not resolved. attack when the charger tells me slow charge in usb mode, if the connection to the PC does not make me choose settings do I do. lg assistance or resolves?

i also experienced same problem with my LG G3 so now i am using samsung's 2 amp charger to charge my lg g3 :crying:
Make sure the usb cable that plugs into the power brick is completely seated.
I had same error and only just now noticed that the plug was only 90% of the way in.
Unplug the usb cable from the power brick and then plug it back in. Use more force than you believe to be necessary, be a macho man!
THe error will go away if the usb cable is all the way seated into the power brick, make sure to push it ALL THE WAY IN.

Well for starters have you interchanged the chargers to see if the problem replicates itself on the other phone? Also do remember to interchange BOTH the sable and the power adapter. An adapter can be a problem , but as I found out with my OPPO, just the cable itself can be a problem too.
How it works is that pure data / sync cables have inherently lower charging current. Fast charge cables on the other hand have the data pins (3,4 I guess) shorted out . such fast charge cables have a higher charging current than the sync cables.
Try this
Strp-1. Interchange the whole charging setup between the phones
ie - Replace the black phone's Adapter+Cable (Both) with the White one's adapter+cable , and vice versa. See if you can replicate the same problem on the other phone. If it does , then go to Step 2
Step-2 This Step will tell you if the problem is with your adapter or the cable( it is very much possible) start with the original setup ie the one before step one.
So now try the interchange step separately for the Adapters and the cables.
Ie first just interchange the adapter and if the problem is replicated on the other phone, then the problem is with the adapter. If not , go back to the original setup and interchange just the cables, if you did not see the problem with the adapter , the problem is obviously with cable and this Step will confirm it. You should see the error now when you have interchanged the cables. Best of luck

So it would seem that my charger is not working properly.. it still works I guess, but it charges my G about as fast as a usb port, which is not right obviously.
Strangely enough the phone charges fine using usb, albeit showing the "slow charging". When I plug in to the adapter in the wall, it doesn't show slow charging, it shows the battery icon animation with the bolt that would signify it is charging, however the phone doesn't warm at all and crawls by one percent every 10-15 minutes. The adapter itself doesn't even get warm to the touch like it used to.
So how can I get another adapter? I've looked online and can only find replacements for other models.. this adapter shows the output as a 5v 1.2 amp.
Is it okay to simply get another third party charger with the same power output? does anyone know?

My charger stopped charging my OG a couple if weeks after I got it. But, it still charges my wife's Galaxy S2 LTE HD.
And, the charger for my old Sony Xperia Pro charges the OG without issues.

Oddly enough I purchased a new charger today., charged to 45% and then stopped.. the charger shows a green light as of the battery will not accept any further charge.
So I wiggled the usb cable and it starts charging again.. whats really weird is that using that cable charges when using usb just not a wall adapter so I will be trying with a different cable.

Indeed it is.. Tried a new charger first as mentioned above, but grabbed a new cable today and it appears to be exactly the problem. Strange considering that it works when using usb from a computer.. I guess it somehow is unable to charge at the rated 1A output using that cable.
Thankful that is working now.. so yeah, anyone who suffers from weird charging it would appear the cable can indeed be suspect
My the wall charger that came with my OG has the same problem. It started charging slow after a few weeks. I just used a different thing that goes into the wall but the same cable that came with my OG and it started charging fast again.
i am using my O3D charger for my Optimus G.. i havent had a problem yet.. so i would have a batter and say its the included cruddy charger from LG.

For sure, was my initial thought as well., however I can confirm that the charger is working fine just using a different cable.. so now I am just using the stock cable with my pc for transfers and charging and the new cable with the wall adapters.
When I plug in my power adapter to charge the tablet more often now I get the Slow Charging notification that says battery is charging slowly due to low electric current of TA/USB connection. Any one else seeing this? I am using the stock charger supplied with the tablet. I have tried this on several AC outlets in several different locations. It does not seen to affect the ability to charge the tablet it just charges it a little slower.

You might also try a different cord!
You may try to install "battery monitor widget", it will tell you charging in USB mode or AC mode.
I also find the stock LG charger slow charging, the widget shows I'm only charging at around 1100mA max. While the charger itself label said Output 1.8A max. I can't reach this level yet.
If I charge with a stock nexus 7 charger (which is 2A rated), it'll get worse...just reach around 800mA max.
I'm still not sure what's wrong with the charger or the tablet itself...
I can say that the cable that came with the gpad does charge faster than a thinner cable I had. Both were tested plugged into the stock LG charger.

When I pulled my g pad out of the box and saw the stock charger was below 2A I put it back in the box. I charge my tablet with the 2A charger that my note 2 uses.
I've seen this problem intermittently with the stock LG charger and today it seems to have become a permanent fault. Swapping to my Note 3 charger things are back to normal once more. Swapping back and forth repeatedly the LG charger triggers the warning and the Note charger is fine. It looks like the LG charger is a bit rubbish. I'll press for a warranty replacement.
I have noticed mine recharges really slowly as well. Using the stock charger, and the battery app previously mentioned, it gives me about 1.1A from the stock charger. Using my Vita charger rated at 1.5A I get about 1.4 into the G Pad. It seems their charger just stinks.
I sent them a support query to see if they will replace it without hassle, if they want me to send it back I'll just buy something else instead.
Edit: Heard back from LG, they want me to send the whole thing back to them or return it to Newegg. Not sure why they won't just ship me a replacement charger, it would be much cheaper for them in the long run.

Further investigation revealed the original cable to be at fault, as it would not make a data connection with either of my laptops. Another cable from my old Galaxy Note worked perfectly. Even so there is still a question mark about the charger as well. Today I spoke to an LG support rep who promised to send a new charger and cable. They should arrive within five working days. I had read of mixed opinions on LG's support, but so far it all seems encouraging.
I have seen a lot of people having charging issues. Even i had a lot. Issues listed below
1. Discharging issue if i use the phone while charging
2. Slow charging (taking over 4-5 hours ti charge my phone)
I took my phone to service centre with a possible issue with my phone. Note i was using original 1.2mA OEM charger.
I enquired if LG G2 is also having 1.2mA OUTPUT charger but it carried 1.8mA charger.
I got my replaced for testing on my own and voila its charging completely within an hour! Trust me! Even while using my phone during charging (mild browsing) doesn't show discharging but yes a bit slow charging.
Even though i am not sure if 1.8mA charger might affect battery in any way (service centre guy told me its fine to charge my LG G PRO with 1.8 one), i request people to throw some light on possible issues i might face.
Otherwise, all you people can use lg g2 oem charger to have a wonderful charge time

There will be no problems if you use a higher capacity charger with GPro as long as the charger is of good quality. I have been using an iPad 1st gen charger with mine since day one and haven't had an issue yet.
One more thing, I've noticed GPro can be a bit picky about the USB cable used for charging so use the original cable if you received one with your phone or a quality alternative.

I have a question about my used phone LG Optimus G E973. It charge very slowly. It always take about 6 hours for a full charge. If I use the phone, the charging percentage won't go up but go down slowly even if It is being charged.

change the charger,.... mine too takes 6hrs on lg charger.. am using .5amp rated charger of lumia 520 .. it charges it in 2:30
I don't think because of charger. I use the same charger with my iPhone and it charge very quick.

Since the iphone has a different battery, the charger is also different.
To make sure your battery doesn't die, I suggest you use an LG charger, or at least a charger for a phone with the same amount of mAh on the battery (2100, in this case)

I own the E975, which is slightly different, but the specs are the same and I have not run into this problem before. So I'm guessing it's an error in either the USB-cable or the phone's battery. I'm not sure though.

Too bad. So there is something wrong with my phone. Is your main power 110V or 220V? The power in my place is 110V. Sometime I get message "Slow Charging" when I connect my phone to the charger.

I did a little research (I googled it) and that might just the cause of your problem. Many people have said that charging on a 110v outlet is not only slower but also less efficient. To charge your phone faster with a lower voltage oulet, they recommend to buy a charger that is specially made for that voltage, but that might not be a problem since also my charger (LG charger) supports voltages from 100V up to 240V.
"In a very layman terms, voltage is what drives the real power (amperes) into your device. So the lower your voltage as per specified rating then the lower the movement of power to your device.
However, when power moves slowly into your device, it stays longer"
I hope this gives you enough information concerning your problem
Sound like I'm lucky to have a phone which can be charged slowly. How many percents you get if you charge your phone for 15 minutes?

This is a complete and utter nonsense. It's not even funny, it's just dumb. First off, auto-sensing chargers will work with any AC mains within standard tolerances. 110V, 120V, 220V, 240V -- doesn't matter at all, the charger will output stabilized 5VDC, and will supply the current (Amps) up to its rated maximum. Also, saying that the voltage drives the amps is another BS. The voltage in this case doesn't change -- it stays at 5V (unless you have a crappy or defective charger, of course). Only the charging circuit in the phone determines the current that it draws from the charger.
Speaking of the OP's problem, there might be different reasons for a slow charge. All of them have already been mentioned in this thread. The easiest thing to check is to change the USB cable. Speaking from experience, I have two particular cables that consistently exhibit this issue -- it all depends on the conductors (wires) and the quality of connections. Grab another cable, and see what happens. Next step would be to change the charger for something rated higher (2A, for example). I am 99% sure either of these replacements will fix the issue. If neither of these things work, then there may be a problem with the battery, which can be replaced. The worst-case scenario is a problem with the phone itself (highly unlikely)...

Only the charging circuit in the phone determines the current that it draws from the charger.
Speaking of the OP's problem, there might be different reasons for a slow charge. All of them have already been mentioned in this thread. The easiest thing to check is to change the USB cable. Speaking from experience, I have two particular cables that consistently exhibit this issue -- it all depends on the conductors (wires) and the quality of connections. Grab another cable, and see what happens. Next step would be to change the charger for something rated higher (2A, for example). I am 99% sure either of these replacements will fix the issue. If neither of these things work, then there may be a problem with the battery, which can be replaced. The worst-case scenario is a problem with the phone itself (highly unlikely)...

Well, explanations like those you quoted could be reasonable to some extent only if you have a really bad charger (either broken/defective, or just made like crap to begin with). I am talking about properly designed and functioning chargers. I have a wonderful example of a cutting-edge engineering from China sitting in my desk drawer: it's a microUSB car charger, which has direct connections from a 12VDC socket to microUSB pins, protected by a 5Amp fuse. Oh, and a cute red LED light, of course. :silly: When something like this is used, anything can happen... If a phone survives, it could be a good advertising for a phone's manufacturer: "Our phones work no matter how hard you try to kill them!"
As I already mentioned, I think it's neither charger nor cable problem. How do I guess that? Well,
1st, I charge my iPhone with iPhone cable and "A" charger. It charge very quick so "A" charger shouldn't be a problem
2st, I charge my iPhone with iPhone cable and LG Charger. It charge very quick so LG Charger shouldn't have problem.
3rd, I charge another android phone with "A" cable and "A" charger. It charge very quick so "A" cable has no problem.
4th, I charge my LG Optimus G E973 with "A" cable with LG charger. The charge is very slow.
Therefore, I guess, none of the accessories have any problem so I think I'm the only one in the world who have this problem.

your phone usb port might be a defective one lol
My LG E975 used to charge frustratingly slow when I first bought (20 percent over 3 hours). Before taking it to warranty, I did test around to see what's the problem and found it was because of the cable. Some cables work better than the others though. I used the LG charger with the cable of my Sony phone -> still slow; with Asus tablet cable -> working normal (1 percent up every 1 - 1,5min).
Further testing, I used the "faulty" LG cable to charge my Asus tablet, and it worked fine. So (I guess) the USB port of the phone is just being picky on cables . Try charging with some other cables for a few minutes to see if any works for your phone.
any way to change the currents charging voltage in kernel? i have this issue with CM11 but not on stock
Warp charging doesn't go beyond 3.5Amps on ampere app causing slow charging rate shouldn't it give close to around 5.2Amps charging speed? Can anybody share their screenshot or is there a issue with my device

With Warp Charge there are several factors that come in to play. The charger itself, the USB Type-C Cable and your device.
Has Warp Charge ever worked on your device?
When the cable is connected do you see "Warp Charge" displayed on the screen?
Did the Ampere App ever show the maximum 5.9 amps or does it always show a maximum of 3.5 amps?
Are you using the original Warp Charge wall outlet adapter and original USB Type-C Cable?
If Warp Charge was working before, how long has it been since you last saw it work?
Have you modified the device at all?

Yes it was all working before I have earlier got 5.2 to 5.5 amps but from past couple of months it's been fixed at 3.5 amps now, and yes I have been using original warp charger provided and no haven't unlocked or rooted my device, could this be a problem with the device or any other fix for this?

Look that's the Max I get with the official warp charge now, and it's been constant, restarted still no good

Bought mine 2019-12 . few days ago (2020-03-30) warp charge stopped working, it still charged, but extremely slow like 40 percent an hour. When it was off i tried plugging in charger, but it started looping, it didn't boot to an animated picture with charging battery, but it still could boot into OS when power button was pressed. Did a factory reset, didn't help. Connecting to pc usb still recognizes it. Had a feeling it was a hardware error. Maybe fast charging module went bad.
Sent it for a warranty repair, got an answer that it will take more time because it was sent for an higher level service. I guess it's quite bad, it could be a motherboard fault.
I read on oneplus forums that quite a few people has a same issue.
Connect it to a pc, see if it is recognized. Mine stopped working & it was a bad USB Car port. It would still slow charge but no warp charge & no windows pc would recognize it connected
Hi! I have the same issue, only difference is that mine is sometimes charging at warp speed and most of the time at 3300 mAh "dash speed". Did you manage to see what the issue was?

had similar issue today .and while charging at switch off system reboot frequently.is there any solution.is it hardware issue or software issue
