Conacts memory leak fix
hey bruh, had the same problem with my contacts app. I downloaded link2sd and cleared data of the app it went from 1.4 gb to 12.mb.

System Apps and data ( I.e CONTACTS) can't be moved using LINK2SD. I checked it bro!

Finally SOLVED my problem by Deleting the Data of Contacts (Contact.vcf file which taking 1.5Gb size) Using ES File Manager.
The Call Log And Saved contacts didn't got deleted.
And lastly installed LINK2SD+ too which is working great for me.

Jasjam Storage Memory always Full

Hey All,
This is my first post but joined long ago, Great forum by the way
Please tell me if this post is in wrong section...
I have a Jasjam running:
WM6 Professional
ROM Version 3.62.305.5
ROM Date 11/06/07
Radio Version 1.54.30.10
Protocol Version 32.87.1020.20H
ExtROM Version 3.62.305.116
I'm having the following problems over the last few days, Was fine previously...
1. Phone is running slow,
2. Can't always send sms messages and "locks up" in message function, I have to stop this via settings to egt out of sms area......
3.Storage Memory is full - even after deleting text messages and uninstalling some software. Space frees up once this is done and then seems to somehow get full again without explaination...
I have even moved everything I can from phone to storage card and memory increased, then I get same error message again and somehow memory is full again...
Keep getting this meesage "Storage memory is critically low. If storage memory is not increased, other programs may not be able to start. Use file explorer to delete files that are no longer needed or move some files to a storage card"
Please help, Is my phone stuffed?
Thanks in advance.....
n_dorphin
try to flash a new rom?
I really didn't want to do anything except correct fault, as it just suddenly started having this error. I will only reflashing if I can't resolve it any other way. Thanks
try searching for sktools, I am not going to post it here unless it is necessary it is floating everywhere here.
try this
try oxios memory
If you are installing it in the phone memory then try to unload few programs that you use less. Install them on storage memory card, do you know that SD card thing. Increase your SD card memory to 2 GB if it support or try 1 GB as I am using it and don't need more of it. Also try to transfer your pictures and movies to the storage card.
Hope this will solve your problem.
Use ActiveSync Explorer to do the job or use any file explorer other than the windows own. GS Finder is the one I like but there are other available on net.
Not posting here coz it will make people lazy. Try to use search and get use to it.
Low mem
hi, as a ex hermes user I too faced this problem many times.
My issue was too many emails and attachments.
I had outlook on my pc synced for all messages from last 30 days (usb), plus 2 other email accounts with about 5000 messages done via 3g when out and about it killed my mem free untill I eased back on the qty I needed.
Hope helps
Fadge
I know the answer to this!!! You have to delete temporary internet files although you might have figured it out by now
I actually just re-installed WM6 and the problem is now resolved.
Jason
In other words, you just wiped everything out of the phones memory.... As was suggested by just about every other post after beastfellows post...
Make sure you save attachements for sms/mms/email, save as many apps to the memory card and put all pictures and music on the memory card or you will be back to the same point pretty quick...
Cheers...

[Q] "All" apps missing after removing SD card (apps2sd)

I had to test another SD card so i borrowed my girlfriends Wildfire... (oh-o..)
It's rooted & last WildPuzzleRom, I turned it off, replaced the SD card and restarted it. Then I put back the original SD card when i was done and restarted it again thiniking that the apps will re-initiate.
Now most of her apps are missing except basic Sense ones. Most troublesome is that the market app is gone to so i can't install any new apps or (re)install Titanium to backup her data (mostly sms) before reflashing it all.
When looking in the "native" app mangager i can see the apps installed and the size of their data folders but the program size is 0.00kb
Please help
1: Can i force restart/remount/rescan of apps2sd apps?
2: can i force an (re)installation of titanium without having access to market/astro or any file manager?
3: Can i somehow backup her SMS etc in any other way?
Pics etc are ok thank g*d since they are on the FAT32 partition but if i don't get the rest fixed there will be most unpleasant consequences for me, i trully beg of your support or she will have me neutered!
Check the apps2sd commands page in the first instance. I'm mobile at the moment so can't help much.

Internal memory disappearing

Ive had the following issue ever since I got my desire, but only now starts to irritate me.
Whats happening is that internal memory disappers randomly. For instance, when I have 30mb free space and I install an app of 4mb, Im left with 26mb of course. The weird thing, however, is that when I uninstall the 4mb app, I do not get back up to 30mb of free space but rather something like 28. Where has the remaining 2mb of memory gone to?
Additionally, when I start the day with e.g. 30mb free space, it can spontaneously jump down a couple of mb's at the end of the day (one minute I have 30mb, the next I have 27mb). Mind you, this is without touching the market and installing/uninstalling apps.
It only started bothering me today, because I had uninstalled quite alot of apps last week to have 30mb of free space, but only have 22mb of free internal memory at the moment of typing.
If anyone could help me out or could shed some light on this issue, I would be very grateful.

I use app2sd program to clear all cache btw.

I think this has to do with the dalvik cache. But I am not sure. Overall, I would say: When you do not have any problem with installing/uninstalling apps or other things, do not bother about it.
Ok, thank you. If I did want to delete it, I would probably need root?

What do you want to delete?

Most applications have 3 parts that occupy storage space: Code (.apk), Data (user settings and preferences) and Cache(some images etc downloaded during previous sessions).
When you uninstall app, the data and cache are removed immediately. But for some apps, the .apk file is retained. It is sometimes removed after rebooting phone, sometimes immediately, otherwise not removed at all.
Use a file explorer like ES File explorer to check if you find the .apk file somewhere. To search quickly, connect phone to computer in mass storage mode, and search the mounted usb drive using usual windows\linux file search.
Best Regards
Root and use apps2sd you will never run out

Thanks, I will try this, although wouldnt this just delete stuff from my SD card and not from my internal memory?

I have a htc desire stock orange uk, S-OFF, rooted.
download Link2sd (you have to be rooted)
With link2sd all I did was use Ubuntu and gparted to partition my 8gb sd card the 2nd partition set at 1024mb and the rest all together and both FAT32, as on the market app info it says ext2, ext3 etc etc can only be used with a custom rom.
hope this helps
This has been a life saver went from 17MB free to Nearly 60MB!!!!!
Also if you suddenly wondering why your memory disappears, try changing the amount of days email you have on your phone in each email account setting. Have mine set at one day. If you really need to get an older email you can just change it whenever and send and receive.

MtpApp data removal

I searched on XDA... and found no concrete answer.
It is safe to clear the data on the MtpApp app on my rooted R800a?, it is using about 25MB of internal memory right now...
And due to the Google Maps (14MB), Google Play (10MB) , YouTube (10 MB), Office suite (10 MB) and Adobe Flash player (8MB) update and the Google services (3MB) "AUTO INSTALL" every day after I remove it ... and the Bruce Lee Game (11 MB) which I can't uninstall (even rooted it tells me something about the APK.) I'm in costant frustration with the LOW SPACE alert sign... (do you know you can't received or send Gmail when you have that FreakinG alert sign?)
I have removed all the bloatware and some games.... but now Im sacrificing beloved my games... because I have no SPACE...
Can anybody give me any hint about this MtpApp... also... any other thing I can do to gain more internal space.
Thanks
Convert all the google apps (except google play) to user apps using titanium backup and then move them to sdcard.
Also do the same with flashplayer, office, pre-installed games ect.
All games can be moved to sdcard with titanium backup
I got a Play off eBay recently and had the same space issue. I installed Link2SD, created a 2gig partition for it and now have plenty of space.

Hi there, I tried yesterday with the Titanium Backup I have installed but it says I need the donate version to convert the google apps to user apps... guess I have to pay for this solution.
Also Im close to switch my SD card... so it will be a better idea to make this after I change it... do you know if it possible to just "COPY" the SD card data from the one I have to the new one I just purchased and not cause any glitch?
Thanks for your comments and suggestions You may have gave my Xperia Play another year of life.. :
Also, clean up and integrate dalvik cache with titanium backup. I've tried this and I get more internal space too. One more, integrate system updates to Rom. This will save a lot of space.

[Q] Insufficient storage (but not true) (solved)

Hi,
I have a strange but annoying problem in Tab S running lollipop and rooted since last week.
I can't save app with Titanium backup, it stops after one saying insufficient storage. Also, I can't preview or export any files from the Drobpox application. Photos are not appearing as thumbnails. It says "Storage saturated or unavailable".
But what is strange is there still 6.8Go space on my internal storage and more than 10Go on my external SD card.
Do rooting could have change something? But I can't understand why internal storage is affected. Other apps seems to work fine, at least I didn't find other complaining about storage.
Does someone have an idea of what I should do?
Thanks
Mel
PS I already clear caches and also did a wipe partition
Post a screen shot of your storage in settings.
Hi,
Awkward link but I can't post it since I don't have posted more than 10 messages :

Since yesterday, I got 2 others apps behaving abnormally. A twitter client unable to display image thumbnails and a newspaper app unable to download the daily edition.
It sounds like a writing access for (some) 3rd party apps (since I could take screenshot and picture, on internal storage). Is it possible? Does un-rooting will amplify or solve my problem?
Thanks
Mel

It looks like you need to apply the sd card fix. Search play for sdfix.
Also you need a kernel that allows permissive mode for titanium backup to work.
Thanks! It solved my problem! All the problematic apps now working fine.
