Hey All,
This is my first post but joined long ago, Great forum by the way
Please tell me if this post is in wrong section...
I have a Jasjam running:
WM6 Professional
ROM Version 3.62.305.5
ROM Date 11/06/07
Radio Version 1.54.30.10
Protocol Version 32.87.1020.20H
ExtROM Version 3.62.305.116
I'm having the following problems over the last few days, Was fine previously...
1. Phone is running slow,
2. Can't always send sms messages and "locks up" in message function, I have to stop this via settings to egt out of sms area......
3.Storage Memory is full - even after deleting text messages and uninstalling some software. Space frees up once this is done and then seems to somehow get full again without explaination...
I have even moved everything I can from phone to storage card and memory increased, then I get same error message again and somehow memory is full again...
Keep getting this meesage "Storage memory is critically low. If storage memory is not increased, other programs may not be able to start. Use file explorer to delete files that are no longer needed or move some files to a storage card"
Please help, Is my phone stuffed?
Thanks in advance.....

try to flash a new rom?
I really didn't want to do anything except correct fault, as it just suddenly started having this error. I will only reflashing if I can't resolve it any other way. Thanks
try searching for sktools, I am not going to post it here unless it is necessary it is floating everywhere here.
try this
try oxios memory
If you are installing it in the phone memory then try to unload few programs that you use less. Install them on storage memory card, do you know that SD card thing. Increase your SD card memory to 2 GB if it support or try 1 GB as I am using it and don't need more of it. Also try to transfer your pictures and movies to the storage card.
Hope this will solve your problem.
Use ActiveSync Explorer to do the job or use any file explorer other than the windows own. GS Finder is the one I like but there are other available on net.
Not posting here coz it will make people lazy. Try to use search and get use to it.
Low mem
hi, as a ex hermes user I too faced this problem many times.
My issue was too many emails and attachments.
I had outlook on my pc synced for all messages from last 30 days (usb), plus 2 other email accounts with about 5000 messages done via 3g when out and about it killed my mem free untill I eased back on the qty I needed.
Hope helps
Fadge
I know the answer to this!!! You have to delete temporary internet files although you might have figured it out by now
I actually just re-installed WM6 and the problem is now resolved.
Jason
In other words, you just wiped everything out of the phones memory.... As was suggested by just about every other post after beastfellows post...
Make sure you save attachements for sms/mms/email, save as many apps to the memory card and put all pictures and music on the memory card or you will be back to the same point pretty quick...
Cheers...

after unlocking my TMA ExtRom on my MDA Pro, my software - installed on SD-Card, eg. ToMTom, Spb Backup, MortPlayer,.. - cannot be started again!
Even reinstalling does not work!
Is there any trick to get it working again?
Hard reset would keep the ExtRom unlocked again, so SSDD will happen reinstalling any software on SD-Card?
If even reinstalling not helps... So, make copy of SD card, format it, hard reset with inserted card and install you progs again... have to solve...
I'm not sure, I guess you don't mean that for serious?
Even deleting "storagecard" and inserting a brand new card will initialize this oe as Storagecard2 again,..., therefore SSDD!
I'm sure, all of you who have unlocked the registry have had these troubles, or don't you?
Amazingly, I haven't found any discussions on this issiue? Maybe it's quite too simple, I can't see , please help!
Probably the issue arose due to storing Mail-attachments to StorageCard...
Deleting this feature in the Email Storage Adjustments brought the SD Card back as StorageCard (without any index), and software works fine again...
Changing the Attachment-Storage again to "Storage Card" creates storage of attachments within the ~10MB Ext.ROM space (about 7MB free).
I can live with that...., but anyway, there should be made a change within the registry settings of the system storage for those using any Push-Service...
Is there a well proved solution for that registry-change?
Edit: checking out the correlating topics, eg. http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...torder=asc&highlight=ext+rom+unlock&start=375
makes me guess, that no solution has been found to fix the known problem?
Hi,
Every so often TomTom on my orbit loses sight of the maps I have on my storage card. I can't see any reason for this and have to recover from a phone backup . Once the internal memeory of the phone is recovered the maps are then visible.
Any ideas on what may be getting corrupt?
Cheers,
Neil
No answers but join the club and email HTC Tech Support.

HTC P3300 loosing TomTom Maps
Me too. Italian OS. Once I even had to reactivate the map, after the restore. Last time that I launched TomTom receiving a msg of the type "Cannot find maps..." I just made the PDA restart with a soft IPL. Will you believe? At the restart TomTom didn't complain for any map missing.
Maybe it's a matter of low available memory when TomTom cannot locate maps.
Hope this might help you. Let us see, if anyone else is posting his experience.
Thanks for your comments.
Once TomTom loses it's maps, a soft rest wont allow it to see them, I just keep on getting the message and the opportunity to download a free one from the website.
I did a bit of playing around last night and can confirm that a hard reset then allows TomTom (installed on the Storage Card) to see the maps (I don't need to reinstall, just run the exe file) so it looks to me as if its something getting corrupt in the standard internal memory of the phone and that this is causing the loss of maps.

This is an SD card corruption issue. Email HTC to lobby for a fix. See the relevant thead.
I don't see that it's storage card corruption. If you read my last post you would see that the SC was left alone when a hard reset was performed. The hard reset would only affect the internal memory and that cleared the issue.
I think something is getting corrupted in the internal memory and not letting TomTom find the path to its maps. Maybe something is messing up a registry entry?
believe me. I have had this problem over 10 times in the last month. When the tomtom maps go missing, the map folder is usually empty. This can normally be rectified by softg-reseting the device which uses the backup FAT for the SD card (so I've read in the relevant thread) and restores the missing files. However, if the device attempts to write to the card again, after corruption (which TT does on application exit) then the card will be permenantly corrupted.

During a reset (hard or soft) WM5 will do a version of scandisk on any storage devices connected (Micro SD) which will try to fix FAT errors. So a reset does effect the SD card and can repair it.
OK RicardoC & debully, thanks for your advice.
I have already emailed HTC tech support a while ago. You know, I still think Resco file explorer may be the common link to my SD card woes..... I'll have to wait and see.

Bluetooth possibly
Hiya,
I had this problem and it seemed to be linked to the bluetooth explorer setting a new storage card (virtual), if you get this problem go into settings and turn off bluetooth explorer and check what storage options are available from the memory settings, the bluetooth storage should have disappeared. Once I'd done this tomtom could find the maps again.
Hope this helps.... and you don't actually have SD problems....

thank you!
i have tryed that and it seems to do the bussiness
This also happens if you have Bluetooth Explorer activated in your Bluetooth settings.
TT6 losing maps, you are not alone.
I know this doesn't excatly help, but I don't think that this is unique to the artemis.
I have the same problem with TT6 on my himalya (XDAii). It seems to be linked to either phone S/W or BT stack as I have had it happen to me several times after I have made or received a call. My workaround is to remove and reinsert the SD.
Has any one checked if other handheld PC users have similar probs (HP?) with TT6?
I have used TT6 with no problems on X51v.
Only had the problem on the Orbit when the Bluetooth Explorer was activated.
Hi,
I had the same problem on my Orbit, never experienced the SD corruption though. I eventually solved the Map problem by following the instructions, not sure where I got them from, perhaps somewhere on this site.
The instructions stated the following:
1) create an empty file on your PC and name it 'autorun.exe'
2) create a directory named '2577' at the same level as your maps.
3) copy the empty autorun.exe file to the 2577 directory
this did the trick for me
Removed the Bluetooth explorer from the Bluetooth installing settings from the Comm manager and hey presto, maps are back.
Rock and Roll.
Help please. All my data get lost!
I know the data on the card, but just cannot see them.
From checking the property of datacard, i know that all the data still on it. however, after open the card, just 2 files which i never know, all the others gone.
Don't know what my trinity did on my datacard wile i using the bluetooth internet sharing with my pc. After that, this happened.
All 1.4GB data disappeared!
Please, anyone can help?

sure, it's my pleasure to help others here.
I use wm6 with a 4GB MINI SDHC(Karmba 4.0). After i use bluetooth internet sharing with my laptop, i found that all 1.4GB data disapeared from my sd card. Instead of them, i saw 3 files which have strage name on them and cannot be opened. All these files are 0byte. Then i insert sd into my laptop, right click sd to check property, i knew all data still on sd card, because the property of sd card shows "1.4GB used". After that, i enable my laptop to see hiden files, not see anything from sd card again.
Finnally, i found a tool called "Final recovery". This tool bring the most of files back to me, not all of them.
I suppose, the internet sharing write all the internet temp files into my sd card, then all my data had been overwrited. So, even when i use recovery tool, cannot recover all of them.
Karmba 4.0 set internet cache and temp folder in the sd card by default(Karmba 4.1 maybe does the same thing). Thus, i think maybe this is where the problem comes from.
By the way, i really appreciate what Karmba did for all the user here. His rom is quite good, But i think 1.2 is the best one. The others really need debug.
Hope this information can help other people who have the same problem. Cheers.
It's nice for you to share about your experience regarding recovery.
However, I think it's worthy to point out that SD corruption could be caused by almost any program that access the card. It has been discussed many times in the forum.
It's actually a HTC bug, which goes unfixed. Artemis got a fix to its SD driver long time ago.... Anyway, prevention in my opinion is far better than recovery. Look for a program called "sdsentry" and it will notify you when the corruption occurs and allows you to reboot the machine to prevent the corrupted FAT image got written to the card itself. It will save your day. Try it.
Hello folks,
I currently have an Excalibur (Dash) phone. Does anyone know or happen to have a workaround fix to re-direct temporary memory or available memory to the storage card instead? I just keep getting "memory is full" issue whenever I try to start my camera phone even though I've already close down all app running.
Thanks in advance
Check Applications Installed
It seems that there are various applications on your Dash which are installed on phone memory itself. Normally, while installing an application, it asks if you want to install it on phone or storage card. Best way is to install them on storage card, but remember if you ever replace your storage card, the installed apps will not work and you will have to reinstall them. Also, if you are using email software on it to download mail and attachments, you can change settings so that they are stored on storage card.
I suggest to check your phone for apps which are installed on it and remove the ones you feel are no longer needed. Alternately if you decide to keep them, uninstall them and reinstall them on your storage card. But remember, any data or settings generated through those apps will not be available once you uninstall them.
Hope it provides some pointers.
Cheers,
KC
Great advise KC! I will check those and let you know if I am still having the same issue.
Cheers!!
Ok this might seem like a total noob question, but please bare with me for a quick sec...
I have a stock 6.5/2.1 TP2 and I somehow ran completely out of internal memory! I couldn't even receive texts. I know I have lots and lots of text messages, about 1000 contacts, and a few emails on my phone, but I have NO media whatsoever stored on the phone. In fact, I only have a couple visible files on the phone that are larger than 1MB. I did delete a bunch of visual voicemails and that got me about 10MB back. I ran a level 3 Clean Ram, message purge, soft reset, all that jazz but I still have less than 11MB left. Where is all my storage space going?!
Anyhoo I did install some programs to my internal memory, but can someone tell me if there's a way to tell which programs are installed to your phone memory and which are installed to your external storage??? That was really my question
U can use "Installed programs" option in SK Tools.
You can check the "\storage card\program files\" folder, and see what's in there; that's the location where programs end up, if they are installed to the storage card.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it!
when installing a program, it should ask you where you would want to install a program, on the device or on your memory card. Install on yoour memory card in order to leave your internal memory available.
dont forget to clear out cache in opera or IE because that takes chunks of internal memory out

Not allways, some programs bz default installs at internal memory, and some programs are recommanded to install at internal memory......

Good idea. I didn't even think of that. I do it all the time for my desktop browser but it never occurred to me to do it on my phone. I cleared my Opera cache and got about 30MB back!
That should hold me over for awhile, at least until I flash my next rom I use my internal memory mostly just for PIM and important apps like Opera.
I remember awhile back, a guy wrote a program that automatically deleted bloatware from stock AT&T rom's. I searched and to my knowledge no one has done the same for T-Mobile or other rom's. Does anyone know of such a program or a method of deleting apps that won't show up in uninstall menus?

There are advanced settings in Opera that allow one to set the cache to the storage card. Do a search.
