They're greyed out in. The tweaks menu. How do I fix this?

Have you tried to PM Capy?
He is really good about respoding to PMs.
I don't believe that any of the kernels listed are available for the Dinc2. Many of the 3.5 Roms are multi device roms hence all the kernels listed (as well as greyed out for us) Most of the devs listed are supporting different phones.
You can use Number 21 from here with Rcmix. I have been, and have had good results with it.
Thanks for sharing that info, going to flash that kernel tonight, stock kernel has been giving me terrible battery life.

Changing kernals.

When developers come up with best ROMs I'm pretty sure they put the best kernel...do we have to still flash new kernals check permutations and combination s..its lame doubt...but id appreciate if somebody can answer..

Yes many developers do as you mentioned especially when tweaking a certain kernel to be very effecient with their ROM, but they still mention sometimes that their ROM is compatible with some other kernels. That means what the developer may have tested and found as best for that ROM could be totally different according to the usage of the user. So just try the kernel that the developer recommends and if you are not satsified then try other kernels until you are satisfied with one
I know this may not be the answer you hoped for but I have always read (and believed) that there is no best ROM and there is no best kernel, only the user can judge according to his/her needs
Your answer was apt..I ve been flashing Roms and have not really experimented with kernels yet..been extremely careful with my device ,dint really want to brick it. Thanks again..could you suggest a good kernel for P A 2.99 beta 7?

Well, I never tried that ROM because I am always using my own compiled one with Trinity Kernel
Probably if you read at that ROM thread here then you will find what others are using with it

Check this to read a nice article about kernels first
Then go to the "Development" section of your Gnex type (maguro, toro, or toroplus) and read the first post of each kernel as suggested by bk201doesntexist to choose the one that suits you

[Q] The best ROM/kernal??

hey yo folks, i just bought me new SG3-i747 and was wondering what is the BEST ROM/kernals? on my GS2-i777 SHOstock3 is what im running since that one is by far the best roms out....i would really appreciated your input, i dont want to ROOT my GS3 just yet until i found out everything about the ROM that i am going to use..
Thanks!!!
You need to head to the development sections and read some threads. They provide insight on the ROM, usually screen shots and FAQs.
As for the best ROM/Kernel, there is no right answer. We all use our devices differently and as such, have different feelings about what makes one ROM superior to another.
My advice would be to read up in development, download some ROMs and Kernels to test, and happy flashing!
There is no such thing as the best rom or kernel. You will need to just try some out to find out which one of each works best for you or your device.

difference in kernels?

hey guys so I'm still fairly new to rooting and all that but I have one simple question.
I'm running the peoples rom 3.17 and it has two kernels I'm looking at..
agat
abd
ktoons
what's the difference between these? and all kernels for that matter.

They all have their own settings and tweaks and optimizations, etc. Personally I have been using KT747 (KToons) since I rooted. His kernel also comes with its' own app where you can make your own tweaks and what not to perform however you like. PLUS there is a whole thread on tweaks and stuff for the kernel. Flash all of em and decide which you like best!
Alright good to know. what seems to be the best for longest variety life?

Any kernel can be great, it just depends on usage and how you set it up.
Ktoonsez is badass if setup properly!
message brought to you by my GalaxyS3
what would be the ultimate set up for best efficiency?

Joe0113 already gave you the link to go to to read learn nd tweak the Ktoonsez kernel. You can find plenty if information in Ktoonsez kernel thread but the best performance and battery savings tweaks will be found in the Team Kernelizers thread which he has so kindly linked you to.
Your going to have to do some reading and learning and test things for yourself. No two people use their phone the exact same way. While most of us will be happy to help you, guide you and point you in the right direction your going to have to do things for yourself.
Good luck and happy flashing

thank you very much. I wasnt trying to come off as an incompetent fool lol..jus wasn't sure if there was such a thing. Thank you!

Need a suggestion

What ROM+kernel combination gives you the best battery life? I understand no two devices are exactly alike but I'm looking for a direction here.
Thanks in advance.

honestly in my opinion cyanogenmod, aokp, and paranoid android are a few of the many roms that produce stable enough builds to run as daily drivers without worrying about something not working or spazzing out on you at random times. As for kernels I'm not too sure but I've heard some good things about the siyah kernel
Sorry folks, best rom threads are not allowed as best is subject to a variety of personal and performance factors that only the individual user can determine.
Try all of the wonderful products available and make your own determination.
