[Q] The best ROM/kernal?? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

hey yo folks, i just bought me new SG3-i747 and was wondering what is the BEST ROM/kernals? on my GS2-i777 SHOstock3 is what im running since that one is by far the best roms out....i would really appreciated your input, i dont want to ROOT my GS3 just yet until i found out everything about the ROM that i am going to use..
Thanks!!!

You need to head to the development sections and read some threads. They provide insight on the ROM, usually screen shots and FAQs.
As for the best ROM/Kernel, there is no right answer. We all use our devices differently and as such, have different feelings about what makes one ROM superior to another.
My advice would be to read up in development, download some ROMs and Kernels to test, and happy flashing!

There is no such thing as the best rom or kernel. You will need to just try some out to find out which one of each works best for you or your device.

let the pandas die, they dont deserve to live.
This question was asked probably more than 50 times, and my answer always have been Stock Jelly Bean. Why? Because it works and works well. Why do you want to switch to custom ROM that might have bugs and lose stability? Stock ROM performs really well and has probably the best battery life. Custom ROM is only good for more customization if you ask me.
With that being said, if you WANT to use custom ROM, try as many as you can and stick with one that you like the most. There is no best ROM. Only the ROM that fits you the most.
Hope that answered your question
 The hits just keep on comin!
if you have to ask what is the 'best rom' then you should stay stock because that shows your fear of any possible bugs or glitches. In which case rom development and beta testing is not for you, best you stay rooted stock or even just locked stock until you find there is something you need or really desire to have on your phone instead of 'rooting because its cool'.
Lollipops you are burning in flames!

All ROMs are the best! Someone in every thread will tell you that but NO ONE can tell you which is best for you.
You have to read the ROM thread and decide which one has features that suit YOUR needs

Changing kernals.

When developers come up with best ROMs I'm pretty sure they put the best kernel...do we have to still flash new kernals check permutations and combination s..its lame doubt...but id appreciate if somebody can answer..

Yes many developers do as you mentioned especially when tweaking a certain kernel to be very effecient with their ROM, but they still mention sometimes that their ROM is compatible with some other kernels. That means what the developer may have tested and found as best for that ROM could be totally different according to the usage of the user. So just try the kernel that the developer recommends and if you are not satsified then try other kernels until you are satisfied with one
I know this may not be the answer you hoped for but I have always read (and believed) that there is no best ROM and there is no best kernel, only the user can judge according to his/her needs
Your answer was apt..I ve been flashing Roms and have not really experimented with kernels yet..been extremely careful with my device ,dint really want to brick it. Thanks again..could you suggest a good kernel for P A 2.99 beta 7?

Well, I never tried that ROM because I am always using my own compiled one with Trinity Kernel
Probably if you read at that ROM thread here then you will find what others are using with it

Check this to read a nice article about kernels first
Then go to the "Development" section of your Gnex type (maguro, toro, or toroplus) and read the first post of each kernel as suggested by bk201doesntexist to choose the one that suits you

Most stable ROM for a month flasher?

Hey there I just got my girlfriend a galaxy S3 and would like to know what is the most stable ROM for daily driving? I'm using CleanROM for the note 2 and it's amazing. Was wondering if there is something as simple as CLEANROM?

Ya that really a loaded question and can get you a lot of fanboy answers. You best bet would be to show her some of the diffrent roms there are and the features they have. Then let her test drive it and see what she likes best. Thats what it alwasy boils down too. Not so much the best ROM but the best ROM for you as the user.
look around in the Android Development section if she's more into the stock S3 look and feel. some great options in there like i747z and CSROM

That's exactly what I did with my fiancee. I showed her mine and gave her a different and let her choose which she liked most.

Definitely a matter of personal choice. Whether you go with my Intergalactic ROM, enewman17's, upndwn4par, or even more that I have not mentioned, chances are that you will receive a good quality experience on this phone. We all work together to make it better as a matter of fact. Take a look at each thread, flash a ROM, make a nandroid backup of your settings if you like it, try another, come back if you preferred the last one. We are fortunate to have many talented devs here who dedicate themselves to making this phone the best it can be. Good luck and regards.
I can't say "most" since I haven't tried them all, but these have been my favorites - simple, very stable, great battery life, de-bloated, no BS, just work great:
ICS - KyanROM
JB - Ultimatum S3
i like cyanogen mod but I am currently on Liquid Smooth RC2 4.2.2 rom and so far so good

[Q] Out of the loop... NEED HELP!!

OK, I used to flash ROMs like it was my job about 1.5 years ago on my Galaxy Vibrant. When I got the SGS3, I decided that I was just going to root it and leave ONE ROM on it and leave it alone. I have been running AKOP Milestone-1 for the longest time.
Now it's time to flash something new and STABLE. I am looking for a ROM without any fuss and not a lot of bugs. AKOP Milestone-1 has bugs and I am finally tired of dealing them. Not have NFC has become annoying now that a lot of my friends have a NFC capable device.
As a community, what would you recommend for me to use as a ROM? What is the best kernel to use as well for this phone?
Thank you in advance....
This is a disguised best ROM thread. There are literally hundreds of threads just like this one. It's always an opinion. The only correct answer is: try them yourself, through your own trial and error, find the one that works for you.
If you don't want to update all the time, AOSP/AOKP is not for you. I will tell you that much.
The best, fully functional, most stable rooted ROM for any phone is a stock rooted unmodified ROM running the stock kernel. If you're looking for tweaks, add-ons, etc., you have to choose for yourself. Absolutely no user on here can advise you on that.

If you don't want to update often, then go with a touchwiz based rom. They work great, have nice mods, and are super stable.
I've used Wicked and Stockorama. Both great roms to me and have never let me down.

Best rom best method

Hello everyone, of course im a noob and am not an advanced user by far. My question is what do you all consider the best rom for t989 (stability, speed, size, EFFICIENCY, look, customization), and what is the best and safest way to flash them?
I haven't seen much about bootloader but interested. When I bought the phone on ebay, the previous user said he already rooted and installed previous roms like jedi mind trick. He installed a stock version of JB 4.1.2 for me. I think it's still rooted Which direction should I head? Also, what do these roms limit me to that I am already able with my current rom?

Best rom threads are frowned upon. A moderator will soon step in and say start flashing and see for yourself....then they'll close the thread.
