Rcmix3d: can't install kernels - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

They're greyed out in. The tweaks menu. How do I fix this?
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk

Have you tried to PM Capy?
He is really good about respoding to PMs.

I don't believe that any of the kernels listed are available for the Dinc2. Many of the 3.5 Roms are multi device roms hence all the kernels listed (as well as greyed out for us) Most of the devs listed are supporting different phones.
You can use Number 21 from here with Rcmix. I have been, and have had good results with it.

Thanks for sharing that info, going to flash that kernel tonight, stock kernel has been giving me terrible battery life.

[Q] Best kernel and rom combination for battery life?

So I decided to go back to an Epic instead of an Evo. I had the Epic when it first came out up until around January. Last things I remember from the Epic development scene was Herver and his Baked Snack Roms and Kernels. (what ever happened to him anyways?) I am obviously in no way familiar with the current crop of roms and kernels and would appreciate suggestions on where to start and I'll test combos to see what works best for me. Froyo and Gingerbread based Roms please.
Try out simply asop 4

Good choice. Don't overclock if battery life is a concern. If you want some overclock, go with 1200. I have 2 batteries so I run 1400 max

no 2.4 was the latest. he stopped dev cuz he now had an evo 3d..
I too am looking for the best battery life and I'm having trouble getting it. Currently trying out latest random rom for EC05 and its decent but nothing amazing, I've also loaded the super V6 memory script and the battery just doesn't hold up very well. Where can I get the old baked snack roms?
Sorry to let you guys down, but I can't seem to find the files for baked snack. I'll keep looking though.
i had excellent battery life on the bonsai rom and kernel
Rebirth + Genocide, 38 hrs. moderate use........
Syndicate frozen 1.2 and genocide 2.0 give me the best battery and stability so far, but random rom is a very close second, and then probably viper synergy 5.0. The gb leaks were good with battery too, but I had too many fc issues with them. I would love to try this baked snack I keep reading about though. I've seen a lot of random posts here and there mentioning it, and always boasting about the battery life on it. A pm with any info on its whereabouts would be greatly appreciated. Then again, syndicate 1.3 seems to be just around the corner too, so I'm really interested to see what's in store with that as well.

I am hooked on random rom hawk, battery life is amazing. It usually only drops about 1-2% an hour for me sitting idle. I have heard urban warfare is very good on battery life as well. Gingerbread leak roms are still pretty unstable at this point though. Only try them if you have a good backup procedure down, and are prepared to get hit with force closes and random reboots at any given time. If you need the stability, stick with EC05 roms.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I've tried several roms froyo and gb and the best battery and performance I seen was with randomroms 2.3. Rom but the random reboots kept pissing me off so I wentt to pheonix and its been pretty good I hadbetter battery life with hawk but this is better for now.
I also would like to try backed snack so if anyone has the url t the rom or anything can you please let me know
I found one rom a long time ago butit was 2.1 so I didn't like it I kno there is a froyo one but I can't find it anywhere if anyone has it it would be greatly appreciated if you shared it.

Need a good kernel suggestion

Just flashed nocturnals shooter rom and battery life sucks any good sense kernels out there to undervolt or ocerclock to save battery all responses are geeatly appreciared as always
Sent from my rooted nocturnal/cm7 running evo using xda premium
Use chop suey. That's a a good kernel. Imo
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Just go around and test out a bunch of kernels for yourself. That's really the only way to find the best one that works for you. Reason being that no two phones are exactly alike. So while one kernel may work best for my phone there may be a different kernel that works best for yours. Also, different people have different expectations of their kernels. Yeah we all want better battery life. But our thresholds for tolerance rest at a different level. So in the end the only person who can tell you what kernel is best for your phone is you. Those of us replying to this thread are merely making you aware of kernels to flash and test.
Having said that, I recommend you check out the link I've attached below in order to get some ideas on where to start.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894880
I like the Aggressive Freedom kernel.
I use chop suey 9.2.7 no setcpu or any of that. Just install and let it do its thing. Buy remember it takes a couple of charging cycles for the kernel to settle in. I get like 17 hours off of a charge with pretty heavy use. Also all phones arnt the same so what works on one might not work on another

ROMS?

So i come from the Optimus V which has the greatest dev community ive had yet to see and there was tons of ROMS, tweaks, etc.
Now I have the T-989 and there arent many ROMS,etc... And those that exist need radios or zips or fixs to be flashed after them...
Are there not that many things for this phone? And do all ROMS need some kind of fix afterwards?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
First, not flashing a radio is no big deal. You keep the one you have currently. Your free to choose a different one if you like. Second what are you looking for, ICS or GB? They are some great ROMS for both
Third, questions belong in [email protected]
Sent from AOKP Goodness :-D
Whats the difference of the radios then?
Id prefer ICS, but not too picky. All the ROMS Ive seen have issues.
And lmao yeah, sorry, Im not dumb enough to notice that.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Different radios may provide better data/signal in your area. You will have to try a few out and see which one works for you. Make sure you are flashing the correct one. Ics radio on ics rooms only. GB radios on GB roms.

Depending where you live, some radios can give you better reception and data speeds. If the one you have works, stick with that one. We only recently gotten ICS source, the devs are still ironing out the bugs. As for GB, Juggernaut and Darkside Digital warfare are the way to go. Those are very stable, established ROMS with few bugs. Find them in the development thread.

What rom were you running on the OV? I also came from the Optimus.

Thanks for the radio info. & Darkside and Juggernaut seem like the only real options. But they each have issues, no?
On the OV I switched alot, but I ended up just keeping a backup of Backside and Harmonia. Id switch between the two when ever I want. I couldnt decide between the two. When my OV kicked the bucket i was on Harmonia. Id flash CM9 once in a blue to play too.

Darksides are great, but still based on Samsung TouchWiz. CM9 and AOKP are built from ground up but require a little more knowledge and research to get setup correctly. If you just want it to just work no messing around , go with Darkside for now, if you want to have a true Android rom go with AOKP of CM9(but you really need to know what you are doing and follow their respective threads if using these CM9 or AOKP)
Jugg 5.0 is by far the best GB ROM for t989...but who wants the old ROM...ICS is the only way to fly

Yeah backside was my favorite rom for the OV. I would suggest either CM9 or AOKP. We have official support for both of them. Unfortunately ICS source has only been out about 2 weeks, so both have some bugs. They are quickly getting fixed though. Read through the last few pages of their respective threads to get an idea of what's up.

Backside was my favorite. Jerrys ROMs were always awesome. Omo remember the old days, like RodimusROM. LOL
We have official support for CM9?! O.O
Question: whats the whole nightly thing about?

Bug fixes mostly. There are daily changes. But if you want to use CM9 there is an unofficial nightly you should use that has call audio fixed. These fixes haven't been incorporated into CM yet so they aren't in the nightlies

AOKP and CM9 are both officially supported now that source is out.
I'm not sure what "setup" is involved in them though. They were like setting up any other ROM for me.

Best Kernel for art galaxy s3 4.2.1 roms

Hi I'm running AOKP task650 ROM. It is my favorite ROM and I was just wondering from peoples experiences what kernel was giving them the best battery life on this ROM. Thanks in advance!

The underwear kernel that's packaged with it or KT747.

Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda premium
It's really going to vary from person to person. Try them out and see. Underwear is great but KT747 gives you more control through overclocking and undervolting, and more governors, etc.
Just so you know. The is no "best" kernel and no one can answer this for you. The reason being is that not all devices are created equally and these devices act different to different kernels and different settings. So for someone to tell you that you will get better battery life on either one would be a lie. You just need to play around with them and their different settings in order to find which one works best for your particular device.

Pimp My Rom and Task650's AOKP

I know that Pimp My Rom is a Universal tweaking app for most phones, but does it really help considering that Task's ROM is so polished? Are the tweaks really helping out the performance of the phone or the speed of the connections. Anyway to compare before and after ?
I wouldn't touch pimp my rom unless I was running stock tw most certainly not with tasks aokp. Just saying.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using XDA Premium HD app
Yeah I guess your correct, I always see people commenting about PMR , V6 or lightning tweaks for devices . I guess many of these tweaks would be considered for older devices and less developed ROMs. Just wondering if anyone has anyone done comparisons?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Id add a diff kernel though, the LeanKernel gives me better battery on tasks aokp
If you were to do anything i would suggest a nandroid first, just in case something goes wrong.

I have watched most of the apps you mentioned from beta or before. They are pointless to roms like tasks. The tweaks are alot of different settings that do little to nothing unless your stock or on a less developed rom. If you look deep down in those apps they are just settings to different things that already have a custom setting from task and aokp that any developer can change.
