There's a lot of threads on here about people doing what you're about to do and bricking their phones, don't test it
ya i wanted to make sure that was the same method
so doing the research the reason why is its not a code sequence to be dome on its own you have to have a z3x box and the s.e to go with it to complete the process of unlocking the device.

hi:
i am having problem unlocking my xda2 ,anyone can help me?
i have followed the instruction shown below:
Code:
XDA Developers XDA2UNLOCK tool
This program will extract the unlock code from your XDA II.
For this to be possible, a few steps are necessary:
1. The XDA II needs to be put in bootloader mode.
NOTE: THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA SO FIRST BACK-UP!
You enter the bootloader by holding the Power button and the Action button
while pressing the stylus in the reset hole on the bottom.
In the bootloader mode, the display will be gray and say Serial at the top.
2. Next put the device in the USB cradle. The display will now say USB
and the first time Windows will detect a new device.
3. Disable USB in Active Sync in 'File -> Connection Settings'
Now the device is ready to extract the unlock code.
Type YES when you have completed the above steps and want to continue: YES
once i type in yes the dos box dissapears and i can not go any further, i have tried it may times , and no joy, i use window ME ,please help.

I'm afraid it might not work on Windows ME, although I have had no opportunity to test it. It sounds like it can't open the USB device. It has only been tested successfully (as far as I know) on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
thank you ,i will try to unlock it on another computer using window xp
XDA - WIKI says
Problem 4: Device is stuck in bootloader mode (tri-color screen)
Important : Windows VISTA users need to make a change to their system to successfully use many ROM packages. See Mr. Vanx's guide here
If you are using Windows XP or Windows 2000, you MUST have the Microsoft .net framework installed on your computer.
Disable ActiveSync: connections -- settings -- uncheck "Allow USB Connections"
Remove the battery, put it back in, connect the USB cable, power on the unit (this should allow the USB port to be opened again)
Wait a minute or two, if you get a message that device cannot be recognized just close and ignore it
Open mtty.exe and select "USB" from the dialog box, then hit Ok.
You should see a white screen, hit enter and you should see a prompt like this: "USB>"
Type set 14 0 (do not copy and paste!!!) and hit enter
Soft reset with stylus
OS ROM and radio version should be back and OS functional, the unit isn't a BRICK anymore!
if it doesn't unbrick, repeat all the steps but with the command set 16 0

Nice declaration in Pulbic... hehehehe

I know there is a guide already here a long time ago, but Its step is kind of complicated. So, I figure it out another way, no need to set up a HTTP server to trick LG's update software.
I have tested it on V20f, everything works perfect. But remember, whatever you do, you do at your own risk and responsibility for your actions rests solely on you.
Unbricking part:
1. Install LG's cell phone driver, of cause.
2. Install B2CAppSetup.exe from kdz-flash.rar (download)
3. Open test-version-upTest_EX folder, Run Windows Enabler.exe as Administrator‘s authorization and turn it on by single click the icon of windows's tray.
4. Switch the phone to Download mode:
Turn off the phone, if you have not turned off.
Disconnect the USB cable from the phone if connected.
Hold down Volume Up and connect the USB cable to the phone.
Hold Volume Up until the screen: Download mode.
5. Open the folder test-version-upTest_EX and run the program UpTestEX_original.exe
6. Click on the folder icon in the row "Select kdz file" and select the file V20F_00.kdz
7. Click on "CSE web upgrade test".
8. In the window that appears, click on "Upgrade Start".
9. In the next window that appears, you will be prompted to select country and language, which will use the program.
10. The program will begin to flash update file V20F_00.kdz on your phone.
Rooting your P93x:
1.Copy LG_SystemBackupTest.apk from ROOT.rar to your phone's sdcard and intall it, run it.(download)
2.Enable USB debug mode, and connect your phone with computer by usb cable, then run root_P930.bat in your computer, then, let your PC do the rest. then you can get a rooted V20f firmware. alse, this method can root V20e, And maybe other's version firmware can be rooted by it too.
is this works in SU640 korean version?

The file kdz-flash have virus, can you update that? tvm.
If you get the errors that state that your phone is not recognizable or the drivers on your new PC is
A. Cannot be found
B. Any other message that doesnt state "Your Device Is Ready To Be Used"
Then follow this guide
1. This is really simple and easy, CHANGE THE CABLE. Maybe the cable you are using cannot transfer data correctly or its just broken or it just doesn't like you.
2. Some have reported that using a USB 3.0 port on the PC in question may not work correctly. Try using a USB 2.0 port instead if possible.
3. Now this is what works the best if you use custom cooked roms.
-Launch the phone key pad on your note and press *#7284# (don’t forget to start with that * symbol!)
-When you press the last pound sign (#) this will bring up an option that will allow you to change your USB connection settings (modem or PDA) – change it to PDA.
-At the bottom there is a button that says Qualcomm USB. Click on it.
-In that menu click on MTP + ADB option.
-Save and reset.
-Wait for your phone to restart.
-Plug the micro USB cable to the Note 2 and the the other end to your PC or Mac
-Let your computer down load and install drivers.
-Once installing is done, unplug then replug phone.
-There should be a USB symbol on your phone in the status bar - click on it. It should ask if you wsnd to use mtp or ptp. Click MTP
-At this point your PC should open the phone’s folders in explorer similar to the screenshot above.
Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight.

Who replaced the hardware micro usb? (You yourself or from someone in local market)
The microw usb port seems to have been broken & not yet fixed properly.
Take it to an authorized Samsung Service Center & get it replaced / repaired again,
Are you able to boot into recovery?
Ravi.

Check your usb connection options. How is the phone set to connect (as camera / tethering / media / any other)
Otherwise try flashing a new Rom and see if it is a rom related issue.

When you plugged the phone into the computer, open device manager in windows, do you see anything? any error or unknown hardware?
Is it a touchwiz rom? when you dial *#7284*, what do you see? Is it select PDA under USB section? Then go to Qualcomm settings and make sure MTP is selected and not other option (you can dial *#0808* to access this settings)

yes I was able to flash 4.4.2 stock rom using mobile odin pro. but still it did not worked.
today i got the complete usb flex cable( working on other note 2 ) replaced in my device.. that also not helped.
yes in *#7284#, it is PDA under USB and its MTP under AP in*#0808#
and in device manager an unknown device occurs under other devices. under device status it shows "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
one more thing i noticed on connecting usb , out of 10 times, only 1 time device shows connected through MTP but still it does not open in computer, other 9 times it only charges.
what should i do now?

Please follow above advice and save yourself the grief of this problem.

Is it the proper module that is designed for the note 2 GT-N7100?
It could be that the part is for s3 or similar model and fits right into the note 2 but due to feature differences will not work as the note 2 probably has a usb 3.0 port (I cannot say this for sure though) and other low end galaxy models don't have it. So the circuitery maybe different here which is probably incompatible.
Also it could be that the connectors are connected in a reverse order to the board which you could try reversing again (if they are not built in a one way lock fashion) so that it starts working as desired.
