I need some help... - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just rooted my Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210R and I put CM 11 on it. The WiFi doesn't work and I was wondering what to do to get to flash another ROM even though I have no internet on the Tab and my laptop won't recognize it as a device. I really need some help, guys...
I really need some support and guidance...
*UPDATE*: I managed to get it back to stock again!

if you have some sort of external storage, you can transfer the ROM into the SD Card and flash via recovery. Hopefully you have a custom recovery already.

Sure, all you need to do is use the T210 root method, recoveries and what not. I have both my kid tabs rooted with cwm touch recovery on them using the T210 model.

Have you used the the cwm/twrp and root signed.zip from gr8nole thread Root Recovery for SM-T210/210R for the kids tab?
What kind of language support your kids ROM? I search a ROM which supported German.
Yes I used the cwm that gr8nole posted. There are no custom roms for the kids version yet but if you need german support I do believe I saw a german official firmware you can flash thru odin when I was downloading the US version.

Thanks, I really just wanted to root it. Custom recovery is pointless as I don't plan on any custom roms. Just wanna remove bloat. I was thinking custom kernel too, but I'm not sure whats out there that works with the kids tab. Suggestions?
Hi,
I have a kids tab 3 (SM-T2105) and a normal tab 3 (SM-T210R)...basically i purchased the normal one before the kids one and i want to add the kids mode app on the normal one...if i create a nandroid back up of the kids tab can i load that image to the normal tab?
i'm new to this scene and just trying to weigh my options...i tried the "mybackup pro" option and that didn't work...any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks

SM-T2105 Galaxy Tab Kids - Corrupted USB Connection
Monday, 13 October, 2014 04:44:05 PM - SM-T2105 Galaxy Tab Kids - Corrupted USB Connection
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi all.
I've spent almost the full 2 days looking for solution of this but to no avail.
My tablet is using 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
I owned the SM-T2105 Galaxy Tab Kids rooted. Then suddenly I was thinking to move all my apps to SD card. Trying and trying, finally I realized that I need to make separate partitions on the SD card first.
So one of the solutions I found on the internet suggested to make that partition using the PC. Then I am interested to connect my device as mass storage instead of the default MTP connection. So I found this - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mohammadag.samsungusbmassstorageenabler&hl=en.
Without reading any further, I quickly installed it and turn on the mass storage function. But to no avail. My PC can't recognized the tablet anymore since then. Immediately, I quickly uninstalled that app and looking for another app. But still the same problem.
So finally I am stucked with "connected as an installer" whenever I connect the tablet to my PC. And the worst thing that, I cannot change it back to MTP/Camera transfer mode i.e. my tablet would immediately reboot! I was totally intensed since then. After trying and trying, I still cannot find the solution.
Then I thought a firmware upgrade will do. So i install the latest firmware for SM-T2105 - T2105ZHAND2 from here - http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/32189/T2105ZHAND2_T2105ZZHAND2_TGY.zip/. I also rooted it again then.
But still the problem persist. I also end up using the ADB terminal from my PC to issue the
Code:
su
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mtp,adb
reboot
But still the same problem. My device would restart immediately after issuing the command.
I have also found this code below somewhere but the issue is I cannot find that /sys/devices/platform/msm_hsusb/gadget/lun0/ path on the tablet:
Code:
Mass Storage Mode
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage,adb
echo /dev/block/vold/179:33 > /sys/devices/platform/msm_hsusb/gadget/lun0/file
Return to MTP
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#!/system/bin/sh
echo "" > /sys/devices/platform/msm_hsusb/gadget/lun0/file vold
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mtp,adb
The nearest folder that I could find is /sys/class/android_usb/android0/f_mass_storage but no lun folder inside. Only nluns file is sound
So I am really stressed with this. Can someone here please help me out?
Besides of all those issues, turning off the Developer Options/USB Debugging would also make it restart on the spot.
Factory reset would be my last choice.
I was expecting something like system files update or something. Is it possible?
Thank you very much.

[Q] SM-T217s - my first ever brick.

Hi friends. Long time lurker here.
I've had many Samsung phones and many other android devices, but this is my first brick.
I had flashed the rooted SM-T217s rom, and the wifi wasn't working, so I tried to reflash it, at which point everything went wonky. I searched the forums and found some threads on bricked 217s's, but nothing specific to my situation.
The tablet went to the emergency firmware update screen, and I haven't been able to get Kies to even recognize it. I try to Odin back to the latest stock (B8) but it fails at 'Get PIT for mapping.' My google-fu tells me this is not a good thing.
Am I hosed here? What else can I try?
Thanks XDA, you're my only hope.

Good news, I guess. I was able to flash TWRP recovery and the stock rooted rom from another computer, but now Wifi is borked and there's no network connection. HALP.

Okay well I fixed it.
Turns out, the problem was that I was using Odin on a VM on my Mac. I had tried to use a PC, but I think the USB controller was too old, so that failed too. I had to use Heimdall to flash each of the partitions from the B8 zip manually. It worked, and I'm back in business, though not rooted. I suppose I'll wait until there's a better way to root before I try it again.

same here, I have the rom, but hesitated on the firmware, waiting to see if someone gets the wifi working, not to many developers here for this tablet.

Ok guys. Heres my deal with this TAB. Ive rooted... Unrooted. wipe wipe wipe wippty wipe . WiFi not working. Fixed it with NB8. So here now I sit with:
----NB8 Wifi works---
----TWRP-----
Yup, pathetic i know. I cant even get the supersu to flash. TWRP wont move it over to flash off external sd card. Im not hip to abd plus i heard you leave yourself wide opento visitors when using that.
Ive eye hustled a thread on here that some friends are getting back together to rock it on a custom rom so my fingers are crossed. This tab is so neglected i mayjust go get the 210r. But i really dont want to. So my question is....
Can someone please give me links to files that work with the NB8 stock firmware. Some of the links are outdated after sprint uploaded the new bootloader. We are a small community on this tab so lets stick together on this. I dont think cynogen isgoing to do anything for it. As they concentrate on thier new phone which looks pretty sweet by the way. K im done. Going to wait for help and play with this htc one s
thats been collecting dust.

If you can access download mode, there is no problem to flash back the system.
Go to sammobile, look for the ROM of your model, download and flash it with Odin.
I did the same thing when wiping out OS.
i tried with as many rom as i can find in xda but odin fail every-time .
unfortunately i didn't have a backup of my original rom .
is there anything else i can do or i should find more rom and try again & again !!!

Do what the previous post suggested and download the stock firmware from sammobile.com and use Odin (in download mode) to flash it.

If you're in Bangladesh, try to flash the ROM for your region.
Does your Wifi work before ? What ROM did you flash successfully ? When ask and lack of information, it's very hard for others to help you.
Make sure you have good USB cable and USB port when flashing.

no i got the rom of Saudi_Arabia cause i bought it from there.
i download it from www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-T310/#firmware
.
.i had to install the JB 4.2.2 if someone know how i could update kitkat manually 4.4.2 please let me know
i think my wifi isn't working since when i first root the device, when i turn wifi on its show my router name but when i try to connect its don't connect says connecting then(saved ,secured )
although before rooting it work's fine i even can update to 4.4.2 using my wifi.
the new rom has nothing to do with the wifi problem .i brick my device for trying to fix the wifi issue at the first place............. i'm guessing it's a root problem.
what can i do!???

Try fo flash Cellular South
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/55354/T310UEUCOI1_T310XARCOI1_XAR/
OI1= Version 1, Released on 2015 ( O ), September ( I ), the newest build.
At start up of setting the tablet, if your Wifi cannot connect to any network, your Wifi built in is defective. The only way to fix Wifi issue: replace the mainboard. It costs only around
$45 for an used one.

please help my nexus 7 2013

my nexus 7 2013 wifi edition is stuck in opening wifi set up because my wifi cant connect to any router. Is there any way to bypass this one like for example using ethernet cable instead of using the wifi, is that possible? or any other way to disable or skip the wifi set up and how can i flash custom rom for this one without using twrp ? My device is not rooted. fresh flashed from stock.
or please anyone who own the same with my device can i have your nandroid back up file please, ill give you load for the reward please please help me. :crying:
I'd recommend using Nexus Root Toolkit - it has full ilustrated instructions for tunning your device. You can flash a custom rom using it. cheers.

Nexus Root Toolkit is a dead simple app that lets you flash content through fastboot mode. If your device is softbricked, it can also fix it. http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/

I don't know how to help you with your wifi problem, I just helped you with flashing through fastboot & NRT. Hope someone else knows something about it. Cheers.
Do you mean that it has no internet connection when connected to WiFi? I also experience it. You just have to reset the router or google how to fix it.

You have to root your device for that. In order to root your device, you will be needing a custom kernel then flash the superSU 2.60+
From there, you could easily delete the system apps.

Hey. Yeah I was wondering the same. It also says that it is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, has me scratching my head right now
Hi everyone,
I'm new to XDA and have arrived with a pretty annoying issue that I hope can be fixed.
lately I have been able to up until recently install Custom Rom's on my Samsung SM-G532 however for some reason once installing a rom and installing Open GApps I encounter a security error while attempting to booting the device into either Recovery or the Kernel. Booting into download mode works fine. I have tried everything from resetting the stock rom before re-flashing to completely wiping all sys data and dalvik and cache partitions but to no avail. Hopefully some insight can be provided since this annoying issue has brought my playing around to a stand still. the red text at the the top says custom binary blocked by frp but there wasnt a reset after putting my account on the new rom
Thanks
Sam
