I have a Samsung Galaxy J2 Dash. The info on this site says that it has 8Gs of storage. I actually have 16Gs. Why the discrepancy? And can you please help me with figuring out how to root this phone. I'm new to this and don't wanna mess up my phone. Thank you.

Hey. Yeah I was wondering the same. It also says that it is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, has me scratching my head right now
Hi everyone,
I'm new to XDA and have arrived with a pretty annoying issue that I hope can be fixed.
lately I have been able to up until recently install Custom Rom's on my Samsung SM-G532 however for some reason once installing a rom and installing Open GApps I encounter a security error while attempting to booting the device into either Recovery or the Kernel. Booting into download mode works fine. I have tried everything from resetting the stock rom before re-flashing to completely wiping all sys data and dalvik and cache partitions but to no avail. Hopefully some insight can be provided since this annoying issue has brought my playing around to a stand still. the red text at the the top says custom binary blocked by frp but there wasnt a reset after putting my account on the new rom
Thanks
Sam

Hello, XDA Developers, I am quite new here and this would be my first post. But I do have a bit of knowledge and experience with android phones from reading tuts and stuff. With that aside, I'd like to ask a question.
So, my friend showed me this samsung galaxy tab 3 model s-7900 that had a boot-loop problem, at first I thought he bricked it by flashing custom roms or such but then he told me it just hanged and after restart the loop happened, I checked the web and found out that this is a clone(which makes it fake right?) of the original tab, so my question is, can I flash the original firmware of it? And if yes, where can I find one? Frankly, there is little info about this model.
I have tried the recovery mode solution wherein I wipe the data and reset it to factory settings but it fails and gives an error saying, "/E:Can't mount /system(Invalid argument)"
I would appreciate any help, comment, opinion, and suggestions
I posted this on the Sprint Note 2 forum as well so I hope this isn't taken as me spamming
I have a Sph-L900 Sprint Galaxy Note 2. About a month ago the device started acting up Saying it couldn't connect to my Samsung Account, and the only way I was able to fix it was a factory reset. That soon turned into not being able to connect to my Google account and knox issues where something was trying to access my device administrator, and the only fix was to keep updating the samsung security police. The device began shutting off and restarting about two to three times a day with the same error notifications popping up on start up. I kept doing a factory reset in order to get ride of the issues but would reappear shortly after.
I have never tried to root my phone because I wanted to wait for my contract to be up before messing around with it.The most I have done is install a few 3rd party apps and use the google launcher apk as my everyday launcher. Eventually because it keep restarting so often I thought I would try to put cyanogenmod on it using the installer app.Unfortunately it kept saying it couldn't communicate with my device and had to abandon that option. A few hours later the phone restarted again but this time became stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 logo on start up. I tried to another factory reset hoping that would fix it but this is what happened
View attachment 2714536
The whole thing is in red and keeps saying error and fail.
I have no idea what the issue being a noob, but started looking through forums and posts hoping to get an answer. I thought trying to reload the stock rom might be my best bet and started looking into how to unbrick the phone on youtube and forums.
I downloaded Odin and tried [ROM][ODIN]SPH-L900 MK4 (MK4 Modem/Kernel/Bootloader/ROM - Full Restore - Unrooted), Galaxynote2root.com, and QBking77 methods and files for putting factory stock rom back on the phone. I spent all day trying each one only to get "nand write start fail" when trying each tar file on odin.
I wanted to see if someone might actually be able to explain to me the exact issue and hopefully a possible solution.
try entering download mode and connect it to kies and run the emergency firmware reset or something like that (it will ask you some numbers that are writen in the battery slot) try disabling antivirus also, it should work.
best,

When you tried to flash the stock with odin did you re-partition?
Upgrading to KITKAT on rooted Note II
Hi all, I want to install french KITKAT Rom through Odin. Before doing that I want to factory rest it with out external memory card, I believe if I do not do it, it would wipe off all the data from it. Is it possible to reset with out the card ?
Thanks for your help.

I didn't re-partition. I keep hearing i need a Pit file for that. Plus A) haven't found one and B) not really sure of the process of how to do so since the videos online keep saying not to select it

Why would you butt in with your question in this thread when the OP's concern is no where close to what your query is,so please post your question in the thread that pertains to it or make a new thread
Hi. First of all this is not a standard "bought in China" thread.
Phone is Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250
Althought the phone was sold as new it was pre rooted with a custom ROM which I believe came from SlimRoms.
I have some experience rooting my previous phones but for some reason nothing works on this phone. I've tried CM but always fails, same with downloading ROMS direct from ClockworkMod.
I would really like to change it to run CM but to be honest any change would be welcome but its like something I've never encountered before is blocking any change.
If anyone could help me I'd be a very happy man
I've attached a screenshot from the phone showing the kernel and ROM it came with.

Hi! I think in your situation the best way for your nexus is to restore all to stock flashing the google factory image (you can find it here)
After that you can start to reunclock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery or what you prefer.
Tell me if u have some problem to flashing the factory image
Hi, thanks for the advice, I thought you were onto something but unfortunatly not. I have no idea what the seller did to this phone but its like its locked out. I can't get any computer, software or comand to recognise it. It's as if once it conects to the computer its nothing more than a USB even in bootloader it's not seen.
Hi I was wondering if anyone here can help me in a very very annoying situation I got myself in. So pretty much I flashed a Lolipop ROM on my phone and it worked but i really didn't like that the camera didn't work, so I restored back to a backup I made of my original firmware. Everything seemed to be working but I was constantly getting Google Play crashes spammed at me each second... so I tried to wipe the device. At this point I didn't care about losing data I just wanted to have stock firmware and fresh device. It it nothing I ended up bricking my phone so now when I power it on it says, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. I'm a noob at this stuff and so for the last two days i've been searching for 'stock firmware' or 'stock ROMS' for Sprint Galaxy S III SPH-L710 I've downloaded these .tar.md5 files and tried flashing them with Odin but it always fails! It's so frustrating and I'm pretty sure it's an easy fix its just I'm so dumb to see it and I also can't use my phone :/... PLEASE HELP EVEN SUGGESTIONS ARE FINE......
Thanks

Can you get into download mode? Turn off the phone. Then press power + Volume Down + Home. If so, go to this site: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/confirm/41671/L710VPUDNJ2_L710SPRDNJ2_SPR/
Download the file, unzip, and then flash with ODIN. Make sure your phone is plugged into the computer and recognized in ODIN before flashing. The new version of ODIN, I think you load it in the PA slot and PDA in the old one. Make sure you are downloading hte file over a good connection and not a phone data.

Do you have the T variant of the phone? Look under the back cover and make sure that whatever you flash is specifically for your model number.
I don't know if this is the right group
I tried posting and it said not enough points etc
I apologize please move if not correct
I have a s4 m919 t-mobile I rooted it using cf autoflash works great now trying to install trwp when I install using odin comes right back to stock. I look to use lineage. Any idea on how to do all of this. Thank you
Reason I want to do this having issues with twitter mostly and Facebook live videos.
I also notice I am running the latest 4.4.4
However there is a new update t-mobile pulled but still listed on there site. It's also available on several Samsung websites. Should I upgrade to the pulled rom or ?
Any ideas
Thank you
To install twrp: open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time, flash twrp, remove the USB cable from the phone when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery using the button combination.
Thank you I
Thank you I got it working
Thank you for the help I have lineage installed. Wow so fast. How ever when trying to root it I get a error says binary occupied. If I uninstall I get no root available. How do I install root ? Thank you so much

Which baseband version did you have before flashing LineageOS?? I flashed LineageOS and now the SIM card isn't getting detected including a handful of sensors too. It would really help me if you could say which baseband version you had used.
Thanks in advance
