16GB verses 32GB or 8.4 inch verses 10.5 inch - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have read on this site that I can't flash a 32GB 10.5 inch S tab with a 16GB 8.4 inch S tab Mod or Rom flash is this true. If yes hen Is it also true with the rooting option. I haven't found any ROMS for the 32GB 10.5 inch T800 only for the 16GB 8.4 inch. Aren't they the same just a difference in the actual sizes 8.4 / 10.5 inch and the same with the internal storage amount
( I hope you understand what I am trying to say)
Thanks

From my experience (and I've had a lot) neither screen size nor RAM size matters. For instance, I have a 32GB 8.4 and never even considered RAM/screen specs, only that the ROM was for "klimtwifi". Hope this helps. Look at my signature [emoji6]

You can't flash a 8.4 rom on a 10.5 device and vice versa.
Flash size doesn't matter. You can flash any of the t800 roms on your device and there are plenty.

Yes, ashyx is correct. The main thing is that you get the ROM that matches your device, duh. For instance, for the T800 it is "chagall". Sorry if I caused any confusion.

Q: space left out of the box Tab pro 10.1" 16GB ??

how much storage space on left on Tab Pro 16 GB out of the box ??
11gig to 12 gigs if i remember correctly, yah it's a shame that so much bloat is on tablets. But it's all good.
I plan on rooting when a root comes out that don't void warrenty and I'm removing the bloat, to free up the space.
It's not so bad right now anyway as I don't have a ton of stuff on it.

What is the preferred/best format for a 64gb microsd card for Tab Pro 8.4?

I just got the tab pro 8.4 and doing some reading, I have 64gb card that I have in a tiny USB drive that I can attach to my Nexus 5 and use as storage. I had to format it a special way for my N5 to see it, I believe it's Fat32 but I don't remember.
Going to use that card in my Tab Pro 8.4, probably permanently but I may use it in other Android devices.
So what is the best format for the card in my Tab Pro 8.4?
Thanks!

A 64GB exFAT-formatted card works OK in my SM-T525.

NFC not working on my Samsung Galaxy Note i717

Hi All
Guys i am having some problems for which i would like your input.
Issue 1- I have a Samsung Galaxy Note i717. I updated it to Jellybean via kies. later i got to know that we have to manually unlock nfc, though i can already see it in connections but it does not work. So i searched the internet and found a file and installed it as per their procedure. But the problem is that it is still not working. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and i have used its nfc with other phones and it worked fine but it is not working with this phone, i717.
Issue 2- My phone has 16gb internal memory. but i have noticed that this 16gb is divided into two partitions. Can i merge both partitions and use the whole 16gb as internal storage. Phones like note 2, s4 LG G Pro, and note 3 has one partition for internal memory and that is quite convenient.
Hope to hear from you soon. Thank You very much.
i have a same problem

Is 128GB microSD supported or not?

Hi,
I want to buy 128 GB microSD card for Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. I have heard, that on Android 4.3, max supported card capacity is 64 GB, and when you have Android 4.4 you can uset cards up to 128 GB.
That's why I am asking you. Do you have Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition running 128GB microSD without issues? I expect non-rooted devices
Thx for reply

Yes. Using 128gb micros with no problems.
I'm also using a 128GB microsD card on a Note 10.1 2014 without issues. I'm rooted now but it also worked when I wasn't.

Theoretically we should be able to use up to a 2tb sd card, if one existed. As long as it says sdxc or sdhc on it it will work.
sdhc is 4 to 32gb and 64+ is sdxc format. 128gb is sdxc...
For people prefering a specific model name: I just inserted a SanDisk Ultra 128GB (one of the current black ones: SDSQUNC-128G-GZFMA), formatted it in the tablet and am now having over 100GB space (what should I ever put on there...? )

I have music, videos and work files not to mention pictures... I have around 4 - 5 gb free most of the time but find it VERY easy to fill up.
I also have rom images too and a backup of my device so it is easy to fix if things go wrong...
I use a Samsung Evo 128gb sd card.
On a side note, if you do get Kingston cards be aware that at one time there were "128gb sd cards" floating around but they said sdhc on them, NOT sdxc. These are fakes... As I said above, anything 64gb and above are sdxc...
It does work!
I just tested, bought a kingston micro sd and the tablet recognized it without a problem
I will be using it in a note 3 though

Tab S 10.5 and >128 GB MicroSD Support?

Long time reader, possibly first time poster, and I had the following doubt:
SanDisk released a 200 GB card earlier this year and I saw they recently made 256 GB version and I was wondering if anyone had confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S supports MicroSD greater than 128 GB?
Has anyone tried one of these 200 GB or 256 GB MicroSDs in their Tab S yet?
Thanks in advanced!
Check this link, it's for Tab Pro but specs are almost same as Tab S.

According to the links below as long as the card has SDXC on it, it should be compatible, My Samsung 128GB has SDXC I on it, you can now get SDXC II , the I or II is supposedly the card speed, like class 1, 4, 10 on the older SDHC cards.
You can now get 512GB MicroSD but they will be very expensive.

I doubt the controller in the Tab S is capable of handling a 512gb card.
I think it'd be a push at 256gb. As far as I'm aware the specs say 128gb is the max.
I may be wrong or confused with another device so don't take it as gospel.
Yeah GSMArena, Samsung and PhoneArena all say 128 GB but that was at a time where 128 GB was max., kinda like how the S7 advertises support up to 200 GB (max. Size in existence at the time) only for Samsung to release a 256 GB the following week.
Anyhow, will have to try it and report back. Worst case I pass the SD card onto another device.
Will report back with the results.
Thanks for the replies.

It would best to find the actual spec sheet of the controller as that would give proper info.
I can confirm the Tab worked flawlessly with a 200 GB Sandisk.
