I usually charge my Zenfone 2 (4gb, 64 version) before I get below 25%, but yesterday I let in run down below 10 (I was seeing how much SOT I could get). My battery meter dropped from 10% to 8, to 4, then to zero in about 20 seconds. It happened so fast that the phone shut down before I could plug it in, even though the charger was sitting right next to me.
Anyone else experience this? Any idea what happened?

Thats very werid. I always charge at 2 to 3%. Doesn't happen to me before?
Try to wipe cache?
What is your Rom version?
Same here. Had great battery life all day. Went to the gym and got home around 930. Phone was at 38%. Then suddenly 17% and 4%. Then dead all within 5 seconds or so. I reset my battery save app cache. We'll see if its a bug. I have heard about this to late I guess. Frustrating

Ok I've searched this forum and couldn't find a similar thread.
I have had my HOX for about a week, its as it was out of the box I.e. not rooted and standard ROM.
This issue only started since yesterday.
The battery on standby never drops unless I use the Phone, which I tested more thoroughly today just to check what I was seeing was correct.
I left it on standby once fully charged at 100%, when I came back to it after 6hrs low and behold it was at 100%. I then used Temple Run for 5 minutes and it dropped to 89%. I left it for another 5hrs on standby at it stayed at 89%.
Does anyone know what might be happening? Or anyone else have the same problem.
It's not too much of an issue as I am returning the phone soon as it also has a dead pixel in the top left hand side of the screen.
Regards
Rob

Hmm..I wonder if others might have this and not realise it yet because we have all been playing with our new phones so much. I found that mine doesn't stay at 100%, but it moves slower than it should do while the screen is off. So after 6 hours it moved from 91% to 85% (1% per hour roughly) but as soon as I use it for 60 seconds, it jumped down to 81%. I think there may be an issue with power usage detection while in standby.
I doubt it would be really possible to get 100 hours of standby if I didn't wake the phone up at all as it is still doing things like checking email, facebook etc.
Hi,
Ive been having problems while charging my phone. Usually i charge my phone from 11 pm to 7 am and sometimes when i wake up in the morning the battery light is green and it reads as 100% battery charge but the moment i disconnect the wire it instantly drops to 30-50%. Is anyone else having these issues?
Are you stock?
I have not had this problem and charge pretty much same as you. I am stock rooted with a few apps disabled and only had the phone since October.
Try this app
Also I'm pretty sure you shouldn't let it charge for so long, it will hinder you battery life in the long run. At least that's what I have read.

Option 1 : Clear battery stats
Option 2 : Get a new battery and 24 hour charge
Option 3 : Let the battery DIE, drop it in the freezer for a few hours, then 12 - 24 hour charge it again. Doing this though MAY (not always does) cause the water indicator to trip. Easiest solution I found for that was I vacuum sealed my battery THEN dropped it in the freezer. No air, no moisture, no trip.

I would also recommend trying this app. I tried it out a few days ago and it does seem to help out quite a bit.
I find mine drops instantly to 99%. Even sometimes when I'm at 74% and if I don't use it at all, I will check back and it goes up to 78% :-/
hi, all i need to know is that this is normal, and ill forget it. i bought a hyperion battery and it kept rebooting my phone which i know like the zero lemon has been a problem. i was getting about 10 hours with that battery so i put back in the stock battery (2 months old) and it goes from 100 to 6 percent in six hours. That's with two phone calls five min each, no gps no Bluetooth no wifi and the screen at 50 percent and the time out at 15 seconds. i close programs all the time.. i have the battery doctor and all of that that tells me when programs are draining, but noting is helping. Is six hours what i should be getting from this battery with light use? i watch you tube videos of guys who get 25 hours but i know thats not the norm. thanks if any one has any feedback on this.

have you tried a factory reset? i know that has solved other peoples' battery problems
No, this is not normal at all. Either a misbehaving app or battery problems. You can try factory reset and see how much it drains with stock, or you can look for wake locks to see if it's an app before you try get ing a new battery
I'm on the Note 5 ROM and have a zero lemon battery. If I have cell on, I get about 7hrs. I can stretch that out to 10-ish if I keep going in and out of ultra-power save mode. The stock battery (of which I have 3) lasts me 2.5hrs. This is regardless of what ROM I have. Seems when I have cell turned on, the battery dies very quickly.
Anyone having an issue with their phone only charging to 98%? It will only each 100% if I unplug it for a bit once it reaches 98% and then plug it back in.

not seeing that on mine.
It does this by design. It prevents battery damage and prolongs battery life (in terms of life expectancy and usability over years).

I've had the 98% issue since day 1. I've never seen 100%. It appears to be a very rare issue. Otherwise my battery performance is great!

That's really strange!

that happened top me on my first charge
just give it a couple charges it will start going to 100
I have to say battery life is great for me on pixel 2 xl. every time i charge it will go all the way to 100 %.
Hmm, I've charged it overnight for awhile now and it still won't get to 100%. It'll say that it's fully charged but will just show 98%
Experienced the same thing on my Pixel 2 XL. I did manage to fix it by powering the phone off for 10mins with it plugged in/charging. Once rebooted it showed 100%. Otherwise it will stay at 98 or 99% forever...
Strange thing happened yesterday. It finally charged to 100% and 5 minutes later I unlock the phone and its back down to 99% while still plugged in to the OEM wall charger (showing charging rapidly).
Copy and paste from my post in the Real Life Review section:
I would leave my 2 XL charging overnight (stock charger and cable) and when I wake up around 7-8 hours later, the percentage would either be 97%, 98%, or 99%. I've rarely seen my phone go to 100% since getting it on the 18th.
Whenever the battery hits 50% and I go and charge it mid-day, it would take a painfully long time to charge up after around the 85% mark (the general consensus and expected). I would check and it would be at 99%. After around 10 minutes, I check again and it shows 98%.
Needless to say, I disabled "show battery percentage". If the battery icon is full, then it's 100% to me.
I have this with my 2 xl too. It'll stop at 98-99, and if I unplug/plug back in a few times or reboot a few times it'll eventually get to 100. But it'll drop from 100 only after a few minutes even unused. Not sure if by design or a minor hardware issue.
Mine was charging overnight to 100% now for the last 2 or 3 days it's only been going to 98% overnight. Battery life is still good though.
I was wondering of was something to do with Battery Stats, maybe needs cache cleared or resetting somehow.
Actually I cannot even get mine to charge to 100%

Actually I cannot get mine to charge to 100 percent except two charges ago. That being said there must be something wrong as using the white charger and cable to go from 2% - 98% it took more than 5 hours ! I cannot get it to go past 99 % and I have been charging with phone off then with on and then according to Google support tried safemode but still no difference. Highly frustrating for a $1k phone. I finally shut phone off for the last 20 minutes and then checked the charge and it is now at 100% but what a battle and a SLOW SLOW charging phone.
I never charge mine to 100%, I usually take it off the charger around 85%. Not had any battery problems, don't think it's ever necessary to hit 100%.
I've had the opposite. Wake up it's 100. Listen to music on the way to work for about an hour (bluetooth). When I get there it is still 100 percent. Put it in pocket for another hour, check phone, 96%.
I turned off my phone when plugging it in last night hoping to make this go away.
When I turned it back on this morning... still only 98%...

yes, mine started around a week ago (black 64GB) today as soon as i unplugged it dropped to 98% used it for a minute n it went to 95% sometimes the phone wont even charge to 100%
Hey guys. A problem just came up on my phone. I plugged the charger in and it went from 25 to 35 % in like seconds, I unplugged, plugged again, restarted the phone, factory reset everything. It won't charge past 35 %. Now after I have unplugged, it went down to 30% and it's stuck there for about 2 hours... Neverending battery
Very strange. And did you try using it at 35% and see how it lasted? I was thinking it's not getting the proper percentage reading but was really at 100%. So it possibly would stay at 35% for hours. Either way, it's still something wrong and go for a replacement.

Not that easy, I bought it from another country, getting a replacement would take a long time and the phone btw came back. Tried to charge again yesterday and no problems, charged 100%. Battery otherwise runs normal, about 5 6 hours of screen. Just this issues where it doesn't read the percentage sometimes
You might want to try one of those "battery reset" apps on play store -- something about a file not working or syncing right and maxes out at a lower percentage. The app usually has you hit 100% as best you can guess, then they delete and replace the system file which automatically starts at 100%...
The main problem I foresee is if you are using Pie because I have my doubts Pie may measure battery fullness in the same way most of those apps have it set...
good luck and hope this helps...
