Battery life - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, all i need to know is that this is normal, and ill forget it. i bought a hyperion battery and it kept rebooting my phone which i know like the zero lemon has been a problem. i was getting about 10 hours with that battery so i put back in the stock battery (2 months old) and it goes from 100 to 6 percent in six hours. That's with two phone calls five min each, no gps no Bluetooth no wifi and the screen at 50 percent and the time out at 15 seconds. i close programs all the time.. i have the battery doctor and all of that that tells me when programs are draining, but noting is helping. Is six hours what i should be getting from this battery with light use? i watch you tube videos of guys who get 25 hours but i know thats not the norm. thanks if any one has any feedback on this.

have you tried a factory reset? i know that has solved other peoples' battery problems

No, this is not normal at all. Either a misbehaving app or battery problems. You can try factory reset and see how much it drains with stock, or you can look for wake locks to see if it's an app before you try get ing a new battery

I'm on the Note 5 ROM and have a zero lemon battery. If I have cell on, I get about 7hrs. I can stretch that out to 10-ish if I keep going in and out of ultra-power save mode. The stock battery (of which I have 3) lasts me 2.5hrs. This is regardless of what ROM I have. Seems when I have cell turned on, the battery dies very quickly.

[SOLVED][Q] Battery issues?

Wondering if anyone else has had any battery issues? I went to sleep last night with about 85% or more battery, and 5.5 hours later my phone was dead....when i plugged it in for like 5 minutes to call my work and tell them i was going to be late...when i got to work my phone said 45% phone idle and 45% cell standby for battery use
none here - took phone off charger about midnight, this morning after alarm rang for the full 10 minutes, it still showed 100%
i've been watching it and am really impressed with battery life - is it possible you've got a program running in the background? - i had Startup Auditor to stop apps in the background but had that from before, on my Vibrant
on the vibrant, running a predominantly black wallpaper, screen brightness at 13%, putting phone in "airplane mode" when i sleep, keeping GPS off, data sync off etc, it'd be down to 17-22% at end of day before going back on charger
this G2, running live wallpaper (thunderstorm), no efficiency moves (ie GPS off, etc), screen brightness at 50%, phone still had 34% last night before going back on the charger - and the battery has not "conditioned" - i noticed on the past 2 phones batteries life got better after the first few weeks of use.
Nothing different than my nexus...and i was thinking maybe it was a game but that should have been killed automatically and i dont think it would say phone standby and cell idle if it was an app would it?
tonite you might try putting the phone in airplane mode when you go to bed, and turn off GPS
see what happens to battery drain overnite - if it diminishes then i'd look at what apps you've installed. there was an article on engadget not too long ago that some researchers had analyzed the 358 most popular apps, and found 30 were reporting data to their "mothership" that had not declared it or asked for permission to report data.
hope that helps
well another weird thing is, that when i bought the phone and brought it home, usually it comes with half battery and thats what it showed but i had to charge it quick with no apps really installed on it yet...Im charging now and will test to see what happens with battery...i just removed off alot of my apps.... to see whats up
I'm getting about 10 hours with regular usage though I wish I knew why Photobucket keeps starting everytime i kill it.
I hope you guys charged the phone fully before you used it first. That can play a big role in battery life.
I got my phone yesterday and haven't done any calibrations yet. I've been playing with it like you normally would if you buy a new smartphone. I took it off the charger around 9pm last night and at 7:32am right now I have about 60% left. So roughly 10.5 hours later and I've only lost about 40%. I'm very impressed by that. My vibrant would have been dead by now, it rarely lasts through the night if its not on the charger.

What's your time with out signal, sounds like the 50% bug to me, google the airplane mode fix, if not you might want to look into a new radio, and you should allways recal your battery after you flash

Please help! Battery drains in 3 hours by light use!

So, I was reading up on ART vs DALVIK and decided to switch to Art to test it out. Well, after switching I noticed that my battery went from 80 percent with an estimate of 7 hours and 41 minutes to 80 percent with an estimate of 2 hours. I decided to do a factory reset and am still seeing that it has a low hour count anywhere between 1 to 3 hours. Its been about 30 minutes and the phone is now at 68 percent. At one point it went back to 7 hours, but went back to being 1 hour and 4 minutes.
Any advice would be greateful!

First off stop looking at the estimated time left cause it's never correct and means nothing. If you truly have battery drain then download wake lock detector or better battery stats and see what's eating your battery. But you really need to let your battery set in a few days before you start getting worried about if you truly have battery drain.

It's been correct on my previous LG (Had it for a few days before exchaning it for a new one due to heating problems) This one was also displaing it right until I switched from DALVIK to ART. After I switched back, I was getting a major battery decrease. Was also doing it with the other G3 (In the process of sending it back) so I left them both alone and eventua;y the estimate went back to normal, back to about 17 hours.
ANyways, thanks for the advice
I downloaded wake lock from playstore and greenified apps i saw waking device up i have better battery life now I also undervolted -72 globably and put cpu to 12,000 something on faux clock as well as dancedance governor

The Battery Drastically Drained in seconds!

Hi guys. Im new here. I just wanna share about my Z1 compact latest battery problem kinda frustrated me lately.
I bought the phone 2-3 months ago, already with Android Lollipop 5.0.2. Since the purchase, I didnt really face a problem with the battery life as it lasted about 12 hours per charge due to my heavy usage of the phone.
But a few days lately, my phone being worrying me as the battery doesnt being as normal as always. For example, it can drain the battery drastically from 88% to 67% in a few seconds when the screen is off (in standby mode). Sometimes, in the middle of the usagefrom 39%, the phone suddenly shows the battery low warning with a 1% battery remaining, and without having enough time to reach the charger, it shuts down by itself.
In rare cases, I caught my phone drained the battery drastically when the screen is still on from 15% to 1% less in a minute.
The phone wasnt rooted and I didnt anything else besides my daily normal usage. The latest apps I downloaded before the problem occurred is Waze.
I tried everything to save the battery like using the Stamina Mode, force stops some apps, slides away all of the running apps in the background but failed. I even factory reset my phone and installed all the apps the way it used to be but still didnt solved the problem.
I still have about 8 monts of Sony warranty but I need you guys help first because I need to use my phone for work right now. Please help and reply.
Thank you. *Sorry if my English isnt that good*
When the battery jumps from 39% to 1%... Does it stay a long time at 39%? Or from 39 to 1 in few minutes?
Just curious...
Sounds like a warranty issue to me. You could try to find out what is causing heavy drain like with BetterBatteryStats. But no app ever should cause such drains.
Sound more like your battery is not okay.

The exactly same problem with me .I have 100% battery and indicator stays 100% for a half hour than drastically drains to 1% and shuts down.
Change your battery! I had the same Problem. I changed my battery with anotherone original from Sony, but a few weeks later the same Problem: quickly battery drain.
So I ordered me a battery from e-bay but NOT one from Sony! Now a few weeks later still NO Problems. Everything runs Ok now. NO battery drain at all.

Battery issue

Hello, a couple of months ago my battery started dying on me so I went to Samsung to get a replacement (my tablet is still within warranty). Despite the fact that my Knox counter is triggered they've changed my battery as well as my tablet's motherboard (don't know why). In the first few weeks I would get quite good battery 7-8 hours of Screen on Time, so far so good.
In the last month or so -though- I'm starting getting quite worse results. The battery leak while sleeping is 2% every 8 hours, so I'm great there too (amplify + greenify work miracles), so the only thing that I can think is that the battery has started dying again (already?). I've let my tablet reach 0% and shut down on its own. Then I booted into recovery and let my tablet on with full brightness for another hour until it was finally off. That's *one hour on* with full brightness!
It seems obvious to me that that's a calibration issue. I deep cycled my battery (twice!), but the results persist (battery is 0% after 5.30 hours of SoT, an additional hour of full brightness is needed until my battery is really depleted). I've made the calculations and found out that if I could actually use that extra hour of full brightness, I would still get 7-8 hours of SoT.
What happened? Why is my battery suddenly got itself "decalibrated" and why does deep cycling (or deleting the battery starts) never works? I think that I should get my tablet back to Samsung again (it's still within warranty), but I would prefer not to as it'll take another 2-3 weeks (again!) to fix it and I'd much prefer to have my tablet in the meantime. So do you have any quick and dirty method to get my 2 hours back?
BTW I know that 2 hours less of screen time , sounds little. But it's exactly the amount of time that deems whether I should charge my battery twice or once every day (yeah I use my tablet *that* much, as it also doubles as my laptop on the go)

Battery Life... Is It Just Me?

Hello everyone. I bought a Pixel XL 128GB about six month ago. I'm running completely stock Pie.
Accubattery is reporting 70 percent battery health. I don't know if previous owners ever replaced the battery of the phone with a 3rd party crappy one, but as soon as I unplug my phone it drops to 98 in a few minutes. Then after a few minutes it's on 92. If I unplug it and leave it overnight for 8+ hours, it's on 92-1 usually. This is when the phone doesn't seem to radically drop battery.
I can get, with gaming, about two hours of screen on time. Without gaming, I can barely squeeze out three hours of SOT. I am NOT a heavy user, mainly web, Gmail and Facebook. No photos. If I actively take pictures I can barely squeeze 2 hours without gaming.
GSAM and BBS shows my top stats always as "Android OS" and "kernel". Unplugging the phone on 97 began typing this and it's already on 89. I have brightness about halfway up.
Am I the only one with such lackluster battery? And the only one who's drops down to 91 seemingly instantly? For a battery with 70 percent health, I just feel it's really lacking. Is it just stock Pie?
My wife just upgraded from a 6P to a P2XL and she's getting, with gaming, six hours SOT. The OG XL does charge extremely fast though so there's that I guess?
Battery on 86 already in just that typing... Am I the only one? Sorry for the rambling.
After uploading screenshots, 83 percent. ? These are just some I've taken. As you can see in the one, hour and a half SOT and 15 percent. How?
EDIT2: 80 percent and 20 minutes SOT

You can try resetting your phone and see if that solves the issue. Don't install any apps from the play store for a day and see how the battery drains. If it is still the same then you might have to replace your battery because that is not normal.
For one, do you play on your phone while it's plugged in? That is one of the main things that kills people's battery life. For two you can try to reset your battery AKA letting it die completely and then charging it to full with out using it, and do that for a couple days straight, usually fixes a lot of battery problems. Right now I am currently trying to let my phone die to keep my battery life healthy I do it all the time. I have 26 hours since last charge, and 4 hours on SOT, and I am still on 28%.
@snappycg1996 - have you tried anything yet? What helped, what didn't? I am having the same issue with my Pixel XL. It's got original battery and I get no more than 1.5 hrs SOT from full charge.
I know I should try wiping it, but really don't want to reinstall everything by hand and lose app data. The phone isn't rooted, so I don't know how to take a full backup of apps + data.
Pie, on-purpose, has made the battery life on this device utter ****e. Its only meant for newer hardware, go back to using Oreo, even there Google might push some services silently which won't produce the original good battery backup Oreo had. I myself get around 3-4 hours of SoT nowadays, however my phone is like 20-21 months old now. In any case, Pie is the main reason, other than the fact of your battery's age, for poor battery backup.
