Battery Stats Not Updating - HTC One X

Ok I've searched this forum and couldn't find a similar thread.
I have had my HOX for about a week, its as it was out of the box I.e. not rooted and standard ROM.
This issue only started since yesterday.
The battery on standby never drops unless I use the Phone, which I tested more thoroughly today just to check what I was seeing was correct.
I left it on standby once fully charged at 100%, when I came back to it after 6hrs low and behold it was at 100%. I then used Temple Run for 5 minutes and it dropped to 89%. I left it for another 5hrs on standby at it stayed at 89%.
Does anyone know what might be happening? Or anyone else have the same problem.
It's not too much of an issue as I am returning the phone soon as it also has a dead pixel in the top left hand side of the screen.
Regards
Rob

Hmm..I wonder if others might have this and not realise it yet because we have all been playing with our new phones so much. I found that mine doesn't stay at 100%, but it moves slower than it should do while the screen is off. So after 6 hours it moved from 91% to 85% (1% per hour roughly) but as soon as I use it for 60 seconds, it jumped down to 81%. I think there may be an issue with power usage detection while in standby.
I doubt it would be really possible to get 100 hours of standby if I didn't wake the phone up at all as it is still doing things like checking email, facebook etc.

[SOLVED][Q] Battery issues?

Wondering if anyone else has had any battery issues? I went to sleep last night with about 85% or more battery, and 5.5 hours later my phone was dead....when i plugged it in for like 5 minutes to call my work and tell them i was going to be late...when i got to work my phone said 45% phone idle and 45% cell standby for battery use
none here - took phone off charger about midnight, this morning after alarm rang for the full 10 minutes, it still showed 100%
i've been watching it and am really impressed with battery life - is it possible you've got a program running in the background? - i had Startup Auditor to stop apps in the background but had that from before, on my Vibrant
on the vibrant, running a predominantly black wallpaper, screen brightness at 13%, putting phone in "airplane mode" when i sleep, keeping GPS off, data sync off etc, it'd be down to 17-22% at end of day before going back on charger
this G2, running live wallpaper (thunderstorm), no efficiency moves (ie GPS off, etc), screen brightness at 50%, phone still had 34% last night before going back on the charger - and the battery has not "conditioned" - i noticed on the past 2 phones batteries life got better after the first few weeks of use.
Nothing different than my nexus...and i was thinking maybe it was a game but that should have been killed automatically and i dont think it would say phone standby and cell idle if it was an app would it?
tonite you might try putting the phone in airplane mode when you go to bed, and turn off GPS
see what happens to battery drain overnite - if it diminishes then i'd look at what apps you've installed. there was an article on engadget not too long ago that some researchers had analyzed the 358 most popular apps, and found 30 were reporting data to their "mothership" that had not declared it or asked for permission to report data.
hope that helps
well another weird thing is, that when i bought the phone and brought it home, usually it comes with half battery and thats what it showed but i had to charge it quick with no apps really installed on it yet...Im charging now and will test to see what happens with battery...i just removed off alot of my apps.... to see whats up
I'm getting about 10 hours with regular usage though I wish I knew why Photobucket keeps starting everytime i kill it.
I hope you guys charged the phone fully before you used it first. That can play a big role in battery life.
I got my phone yesterday and haven't done any calibrations yet. I've been playing with it like you normally would if you buy a new smartphone. I took it off the charger around 9pm last night and at 7:32am right now I have about 60% left. So roughly 10.5 hours later and I've only lost about 40%. I'm very impressed by that. My vibrant would have been dead by now, it rarely lasts through the night if its not on the charger.

What's your time with out signal, sounds like the 50% bug to me, google the airplane mode fix, if not you might want to look into a new radio, and you should allways recal your battery after you flash

what do you mean time without signal? and cant flash the build or radio without root(if thats what you meant) im fully charging it now and removed all of my apps...and going to see what happens from there
I've been using mine off and on mostly text, web and speedtests for 4 hours off the charger and my battery is at 91%

100% to nearly dead in 5.5 hours with no usage at all

So my battery life so far has been hugely inconsistent. The first day it was draining so fast (60% in an hour) that I contemplated turning around and taking it right back to the Verizon store.
I decided to give it a better chance than that and gave it a full conditioning cycle and all seemed well - I got 16 hours with moderate usage including an hour and a half where my screen was constantly on! I was very pleased. Extremely pleased.
So I charge my phone back up to 100% before I go to sleep then take it off the charger once it does. I drift off into dreamland, dead to the world, and five hours later I decided to check my phone for calls, texts and email.
Before I could even pull my notification bar down I saw something horrific - an extremely low battery capacity, nearly red. Checked battery usage and it said it went from 100% to 13% in about 5.5 hours.
Android OS - 64%
Phone Idle - 10%
This is the big indicator. Under Android OS, my phone (not the display) was kept awake for an hour and a half overnight. I'm really not sure what's going on here and what's causing this to happen. I haven't downloaded much - 1 game, Skype, Google Reader, Facebook, Tweetcaster, Evernote and Foursquare - and none of them showed any signs of being the culprit.
As you can tell, this is very worrisome. If I can't get more than 5.5 hours on a full charge what use is this phone to me? Does anyone know what could be going on or has anyone else run into this issue?

my 1st GSIII was defective(phone HOT while off)

Just an FYI,
My 1st sprint GSIII was fine for the 1st month. I could get upto 3 1/2 days of battery with very light usage (mostly standby time). NOt sure what caused what happened next but the phone became extremely warm and the battery life dropped to approx. 2 hours. The phone was very warm even while off for hours!! And it obviously got even hotter while on the charger. The only way to get the phone to return to room temp was to pull the battery and leave it out for a few hours. Turning wifi/data/sync/GPS etc. off did nothing. The odd thing was, the battery was a normal temp. The heat came from the lower part of the phone (where the processor is). It also gave incorrect battery readings. While plugged in it would read "100%" and "charging" the LED stayed red, never turning green. I also could pull the battery and put it right back in and it would read 20-30 % difference VS. when I took it out.
The phone was swapped at a sprint store covered by insurance.
The only thing i did differently usage wise was link the phone to my dropbox account. It seemed to sync normally so i can't confirm dropbox caused the issue. I just can't figure out what the phone was "doing" while it was off. Just thought i'd share the story with the phone. The new 1 is running fine.
I found this today. Appears to be helpful with heating up and improved battery life.

This doesn't sound good at all. My cousin's GII on AT&T did something similar to this. The phone would be completely turned off and it would vibrate every 10 minutes. Even pulling out the battery and reinstering it made it automatically turn back on and vibrate again and again.
Hopefully this is an isolated issue what you are talking about.

My phone has gotten hot ever since I got it, but it will cool down when I stop using it. I am getting horrible battery life even witha 4300 mah battery. today it wouldnt even last 11 hours. It had 3 hours total usage time on it. I am now trying another 4300 mah battery to see if that is the problem or if its the phone. my reg battery wont last me very long either. I am also using juice defender free version and advanced task killer plus the built in task killer and I cannot get my phone to last very long. With my orig Evo I had the sprint extended battery (2500? mah) and it last me til bedtime with 50% left.
The only time this happened to me was when an badly behaving app "ran away". I would get really bad battery usage at the same time. I could cure it by clearing ram, which shut down all the running apps. Since this hasn't happened to me in a while I'm guessing that whatever app was doing that to my phone has been updated to fix the bug.
My issue was very odd. My phone was normal lasting up to 3 days with very light usage. It would sit for hours at "room temp"..the only thing i did differently was link it to my dropbox accnt. It seemed to sync ok..it was shortly after that i noticed the phone was very warm towards the lower 1/3 of the phone. I thought maybe there was something running or taxing the processor. So after working on it for a few days(turning everything off i.e. wifi/gps/data/sync/etc etc.) the battery got worse and worse. I then unlinked dropbox, stopped all running apps and let the phone sit in airplane mode over night. Still no joy. So i turned the phone off and let it sit for about 6 hours. It was still "very warm" while off!! At that point I pulled the battery for about 2 hours and the phone returned to normal temp. What could the phone be doing while turned off for hours?
The phone was stock and updated. I use an airrave so i dont have signal issues. The processor seemed to be running at full load even while the phone was off. The battery life went from around 3 days to not even 2 hours. The phone did seem to have the known "cell standby" issue(where the counter is reporting an incorrect usage %). While charging, the phone was even hotter to the point of me thinking it would burst. Oddly enough, the battery was at a normal temp. It was no where near the temp of the bottom of the phone(where the processor is located). The new GS3 is running normally so far. The tech at the sprint store couldnt figure the old 1 out so they just replaced it(insurance/no charge).

[Q] How many people have had battery problems with the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 T800?

I've spent the entire evening tonight trying to find out why I'm getting very erratic battery performance on my Tab S 10.5. I've seen the battery jump and drop 10-30% within a half hour, I've seen the battery percentage go UP from 55% to 67% after rebooting it while it wasn't plugged in, and all kinds of other battery level weirdness. I've even seen it lock itself at random and randomly reboot both when plugged in and when running on only battery.
Tonight, I had had enough and did a factory reset, and it got WORSE! After the reset, it went from 10% tom 17% when I unplugged it. Once I did, it rebooted itself and the battery dropped to 0% and shut itself off!
I've seen other people on here complaining about the same battery weirdness, but the threads seem to mix people talking about different Galaxy Tab S tablets. My question is if I return this to Amazon and get a new one, am I likely to have the same problem? Will it be better? Worse?

For me, the biggest drain is the screen and I have it at a very low level. I put it into ultra power saving mode last night before going to bed. The batter level this morning was fine, but GSam Battery Monitor said I had the screen on for 8 hours, whereas the built in batter app shows otherwise.

I haven't rooted my Tab. I'm running stock.
Here's another example of what I was seeing. Once it dropped down to 0% last night, I left it plugged in and left it alone. hen I looked at the battery meter, it didn't show a gradual increase in battery level, it showed a huge spike up in the middle of the night. So it charged very slowly, then at some point jumped around 50% or more and continued to charge until it showed 100%.
Today my T800 did something similar, it was full, then unplugged, started to use it and it went to 92% in just 15min so I was like WTF, plugged to the charger and then immediately jumped to 99%, I unplugged and did a reboot and it once it was back was at 99% again, so I charged again to full and I will see later how it's behaving.
I did notice that when this happened it was warmer than usual
Mine is not rooted.
My T800 doesn't behave like that. I'd definitely return it.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Also loses all wifi connections and I have to put in the passkey every time it reboots. It started about a week or so ago. I think I'll just return it.

Do you even know what rooting is? If you did, you'd know that rooting on its own does nothing to the battery, not only that but it CAN'T do anything to the battery
my battery problems solve (maybe)
Finally after reading dozens of post and trying all kinds of apps to solve the draining and rebooting of mt Tab 5 10.5 t800 I decided to replace the battery so I watched a video on you tube about how to replace the battery and took the back cover off.it was easy I used one of my guitar pics and before I took the battery out I remembered seeing a post here on xda about the battery plastic connector not making good contact so before I took the battery out i disconnected the white plastic connector it just pulls up and off and used a q-tip with some electrical cleaner on it and cleaned the contact and plugged it back in, I charged it to 100% witch I could not do before because it would stop at 98% and put the unit through the paces playing games and videos and doing every thing i could to drain the battery and the first thing I noticed was the battery life was about 5 times greater and it did not drop or reboot yet after 7 hours im at 54 percent battery life .. the screen is more responsive and the unit is running smooth as butter. I am REALLY excited and hope this is the answer to my problems because I really dont want to buy a new battery and find out it does the same thing.

Slower battery drain at 100%

Has anyone else noticed that 100% battery lasts much longer than any other percentage?
For example, last night I had my phone charging while I was watching TV and fell asleep. When I woke up a took my fully charged phone and went to bed while leaving it off the charger. I woke up five and a half hours later with the battery still at 100%. I then used it for 15 minutes of browsing before it finally dropped to 99%. However, if I had went to bed with less than 100% it would have drained probably 1-2% in the same amount of time with no usage at all. It almost seems like 100% is really only like 98% and it can actually be charged to more than 100%. After it drops to 99% the drain rate is pretty consistent.
I actually noticed this when I first got the phone almost a month ago and at first I thought there was a problem with the phone being stuck at 100% because it stayed there much longer than any other percent.
Anyone else see this? It doesn't really bother me since everything below 100% is very consistent. I'm just curious.
Same happens here. I listen to music (bluetooth to truck stereo) for about an hour everyday on the way to work. When I get there it still says 100% every day. Then after about an hour in my pocket doing nothing it magically says 96%. I have been suspecting that the on screen percentage is not registering the drop in power for a short while. But maybe I'm wrong.
I remember the Nexus 6p used to do that, haven't experienced it yet with my pixel though.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I have noticed that as well. Usually, my ~30 minute bus ride consists of my phone draining between 5% to 10%. But when I have the phone start from 100%, it's never drained beyond 5% by the end of it. Must have something to do with the fact that the phone charges slower when it reaches 80% or above (which they only claim to prolong battery health, not battery life). Eh, won't complain about it :fingers-crossed:
