Got the email from google telling me that they have switched to Android pay and the link to download it via the play store. I get the message that my device is not compatible with it when I get to the play store. Pretty sure I am not the only one who is frustrated with this. Hoped it will get baked in when google bought softcard (ISIS). Tried side loading the apk, but i just get the message that it is unavailable when i try to open the app.:crying::crying::crying:
I actually called Google about it, asking specifically if it would work, even giving "Ross" the heads up that wallet tap to pay never did. He assured me it would, of course it doesn't, I replied to him letting him know. Will be interesting to see what he comes back with.

It must be a T-Mobile thing. Sprint Note 3 has it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/android-pay-error-rooted-devices-t3204203
Were you rooted when you tried to install? For the initial install you must be unrooted. But showing incompatible on Play sounds like a carrier issue to me.
Did anyone ever get NFC working on their T-Mobile Note 3? I never could. Which sucks balls because I really want to do away with carrying so many pieces of plastic.

It might be carrier related. Tmobile, AT&T and Verizon were the backers for Softcard in the beginning. You had to have Softcard compatible sim cards to use the payment features of softcard. I dont have the same sim card anymore, not sure if that will make a difference.
Rooted or not, you dont have access to the app on the app store.
Any luck on this issue.?
I did call Google and they told me that since my phone was used with softcard it cannot be used with Apple Pay.
I thought Android Pay would supersede Softcard since Google bought the thing... I think someone should call T-Mobile as well and ask them how else can we make NFC payments with everything not functional.
Tmobil official word
I called T mobile and tech support said Note 3 ( and several others) are NOT compatible.
Tech is updating all the customer support cheet sheets so no one else has to go through this with them.
Somehow I just knew this Pay app fiasco (ISIS, etc) would end badly for us.. If the greedy corporate SOB's would have just gone with Google in the first place.. I hope they learned something
Is a class action in the cards for NOTE 3 owners ?? Any Lawyers out there ?
I installed Android Pay through the APK mirror APK, it installed perfectly with no errors and detected my NFC. I'm using the AT&T Note 3 (4.4.4 KitKat) ( N900a). I just need some place to test it now.
Keep us posted. Glad to see note 3 still kicking it.
Installed it on my note 3 tmobile bit I use cricket with it. Can't test it or anything as the rom I have from ages ago nfc won't turn on

Android pay refuses to work if it detects that a device has been rooted. I switched back to the official Android 5.0 lollipop release for my Note 3 and Android pay works with no issues. I have added cards and successfully completed several purchases.
I did replace my battery last year, my current battery is an official Samsung battery manufactured in November 2015. Since some of the NFC hardware is in the battery this may have have helped my success with Android pay on my Galaxy Note 3

Just received an email from softcard that it will stop service from 3/31 because it's aquired by google. But google wallet is not supported by Note 3, now what...?
Swipe your card like a normal human being?
By the way, the Google Wallet app works just fine. I get notifications about half a second after I use my card, every time. Life goes on without tap & pay.
Swipe a card!

You guys are kind of jerks.
"I bought a phone that had feature X. Now feature X doesn't work. How do I get something equivalent?" Is perfectly valid. Just because you swipe your cards like damn savages doesn't mean we all choose to live that way.
X is the last feature I'd look for, I just want to have quality call and messaging features when choosing a phone.
Hope you didn't miss out on your corn nuts and mountain dew because of X feature not working!
Pp. Lol
God damn there is some whiny little *****es in the Note 3 community.

Google Wallet works for me. I assume you heard it didn't work with the T-Mobile Note 3. That's because T-Mobile had originally decided to go with SoftCard and blocked Wallet. The email I got had a link to download Wallet.

Google Wallet has always worked on the TMO Note 3. It was the Tap-to-pay functionality that was missing in Google Wallet.
I hope it is working in the new Lollipop update that's in OTA right now. Otherwise it'll be a huge disappointment (NOT like I can't swipe a card, but because I want everything to work on my phone).
I called Wallet support 1-855-492-5538 and their csr stated tap and pay "will definitely work as long as software is up to date." Perhaps they activated it with the new lollipop release.
I have to retract what I posted last night about Google Wallet. Last night a CSR stated it would work "with the latest software". I even got an email to that effect. It doesn't. So I called Wallet this am and, after a long time waiting for them to "research", I was told Tap and Pay will NOT work with T-Mobile Note 3. I asked why it worked for SoftCard and received no logical response. So basically, we're SOL with Tap & Pay on Google Wallet.

Just got lollypop, still no tap and pay. Very disappointed. I don't buy that wallet can't work on the note 3. Softcard works and google purchased (and rightfully killed) them. So use how softcard worked with nfc to to make wallet work with tap and pay. The phone will do it, its the software that won't. give us a fix or a viable replacement for softcard. As to the whiners that say just swipe a card, this is a technology I want to support and is one reason I have a smart phone. You guys miss the point completely.
I agree, scottslc. I'd gotten used to using tap and pay. One thing I enjoyed was not having to actually carry credit cards. And, as some states are testing, you may soon have digital drivers licenses. For the Note 3 (and a couple of others) Samsung chose a different NFC chip, which is why SoftCard required the secure sim. Like you, I'm hoping Google will adapt their technology. If not, I might have to seriously consider another phone.
First and foremost, I'm a noob.
Anyways, I'm giving this whole Android thing a go for the third time. I had an S7 and an S7 Edge, both were great phones but they were also carrier versions. I've owned pretty much everything Apple and coming to the realization that Apple is dropping the ball. It's time to switch it up.
I ordered an International Unlocked 930F Note 7 and I'm currently with AT&T. After researching, I'm aware that I'll be losing a few things like Samsung Pay and VoLTE. Few questions I have: When the Note comes in the mail, shall I remove the SIM out of my iPhone SE and insert it into the new phone? Or go to an AT&T store and ask for another SIM?
Your feedback/suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Someone will correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe you will lose Samsung Pay. It should work. And yes, just plug your SIM (if its a nano) and go. I plan on getting the same phone and I had the S7 Edge international version and it worked fine on AT&T. I never tried Samsung pay though.
Thanks for the quick reply.
Not too worried about Samsung Pay, as I don't even use Apple Pay. But the VoLTE is what I'm mainly concerned about.
Also what about visual voicemail? I understand it can be downloaded from Google Play, but will it still work and keep my same greeting, etc..?
Brings me to next question: Samsungs website offers the micro SD card as a free gift when purchasing the phone, do you know if they honor purchases from eBay and/or international devices?
Yeah I don't use Samsung pay either. Not sure about VoLTE.
Visual voice mail works fine. Just download the app from the Play Store like you said but not sure about the greeting. Don't know if that stored in the app or on AT&T's server.
From what I've been reading, when you register your phone, regardless of where you got it, you will be able to take advantage of the current promotion. LETS HOPE!
Samsung pay should still work, and so will the VVM app from the play store.
Eventually if a root/flashing method should come out for the international model which could let you flash over AT&T stuff such as HD voice. Not 100% sure on that but maybe someone else can verify that.
When you get the phone, go to the store and ask for a sim.
As for the free gift, it only applies if you buy it from a carrier store, or certain stores. I'm assuming the guy you bought it from already got the promo gift from Samsung. If you really want it maybe cancel the eBay order and get it from Samsung.
As far as I know you can't buy the international version straight from Samsung. If that would have been an option, I'd been all over that.
Would the SIM in my iPhone not work?
Seems you may be right, the only options I see on their site are carrier models. If you go to the promotion site though, they have an option for "other" retailers so you can try with your eBay invoice as proof of purchase.
I like where your heads at.
I suppose what I can do with the SIM is try swapping it into the Note and if it doesn't work, go to the store.

I'll pop in with a lil info for you. I use a international Note 4 on AT&T now with zero issues. A few reasons why I went with this version instead of a carrier branded phone. First one was the unlocked bootloader, since the AT&T version was locked up and still locked to this day. My 4 still works perfectly fine with a custom S7/Note 7 Rom on it. So you decide if you want it..
Now in regards to the crapple sim going into the N7, if I'm not mistaken you're going to have to get that changed from the crapple set-up. Think they need to put it back to regular data or whatever all the other phones use. You know it's always something special with crapple! I would say try the sim if no data you'll know why.
Good luck

As mentioned above, I believe Apple uses different settings for data with their sim cards. When my brother switched from a 4S to Android he had to get a new card. I also just got his LTE working for him by contacting support and registering his Sim card with the one I from a store display phone. I just took a picture of the IMEI of an S7 in store and used the "ATT Phone" APN settings. The NXTGENPHONE APN will not work for some reason when I tried it.

While I'm at the store, I'll snap a pic of the back of an S7 as well just to be safe. Can you clarify "ATT Phone" in the APN settings? Where is this located?
Go into the phone settings and get the IMEI and IMEISV
I needed both when talking to tech support.
As for the APN I used the same ones as the OP from this thread.

I am just wondering if anyone who ordered from ATT or direct from Google, have recieved their phones yet. I had been told that the Google direct ones wont have some of the ATT features working? The ATT rep that told me that is a friend and was under the impression the Google version wouldnt do tethering and some other features.

There is no AT&T version of this phone, you can only get it from the Google Store or Verizon, if you are a subscriber.
With that said, I have one on AT&T and WiFi Calling and HD Voice do not work at this time.
I was tethering earlier. I haven't bought a phone from ATT in 4-5 years. I wouldn't know what wifi and HD is. :/

So I just tried to setup my Samsung Pay and it says this device is not compatible??!!
I have unlocked model on Sprint.
Just wondering if anyone else has similar issue to know it will self-resolve over time maybe or if something is funky here.
Very annoying as I used it a ton on my S7....
I have no issues using it on my unlocked S9.

I have never used Samsung Pay but Google Pay is working fine on my S9 :good:
I set it all up and went to add my cards but all of them were incompatible. My banks prefer to use their own contactless payment methods or Google Pay.

I"m having the same issue to. Anytime I try to use it, it says to update it. The samsung pay in the galaxy app store is updated. So uninstalling that one and installing the one from the play store says it's incompatible with my phone.
But, it sounds like Samsung is aware of the issue and will be updating the galaxy apps version soon

So I flashed my phone to the sprint FW and that one seems to work fine so must indeed be something with the US unlocked ones maybe on some providers or how it was updated etc.
I just tested mine and it works on the unlocked version.
For those that are working are you US based or intl?
I'm also wondering if it's app ver related, carrier related for unlocked or what lol.
I now have another issue with VM not working so am torn what FW I even want to run now lol. Downfall of early adopter I guess hah
Mine works fine with tmobile
Mine does not work. US unlocked snapdragon model. Keeps telling me to update app but there is not an update.
On T-Mobile US, and it works fine here. I didn't try it until after the day 1 update they pushed yesterday, so maybe that was the key?

I've been having the same issues on my USA unlocked S9+, but there's an update in the Galaxy app store today that finally gets me past that "need an update" screen. Go check!!
There is an update for Samsung pay that came out last night and now it works for me. I updated through the Galaxy app store.
When I use it my phone get stuck in wireless charging mode and to remove it igot reboot phone
I have the S8 Plus Hong Kong variant. Samsung Pay only worked for Hong Kong based banks. Uninstalled the app then installed the latest version on Play Store. Works fine now so Samsung did update the app. I'm pretty sure whoever you bank with needs to have a processing application which is compatible with Samsung Pay.
I am hoping someone can answer something for me. I am getting the 46mm Galaxy watch with LTE from T-Mobile as soon as they are back in stock. Hopefully it will ship the 24th which is the earliest. Anyway, I have been doing a lot of research on the watch. Some things concern me and I can only work around one I get the watch.
But, the major concern is when I get the watch will it be already activated on LTE? I have read a lot of people talking about having to have a Samsung phone to do the activation. I talked to T-Mobile and they said it should be activated already if the Digits line is active. It is active on the other one we ordered that was in stock. I just don't know about mine yet until it ships.
So, does anyone have any experience with this watch on T-Mobile? I do not have a Samsung phone. I know all Bluetooth stuff will work. I just want to use it as a standalone device also.

You need a T-Mobile phone to get it up and running. My watch connected to my phone thru bluetooth and was working just fine, but I couldn't get the LTE to work until after I made the trip to an actual T-Mobile store. I have a Verizon phone. I couldn't get the LTE to work so I ended up using a T-mobile employee's phone to set it up. It needs to download something thru a T-Mobile line. But once you set it up you're good. Hope this helps.
Yeah I bought it straight from T-Mobile. And I have T-Mobile. I just have a Moto z2 force and I have heard you can't set the LTE up without a Samsung phone. You get kind of error like that it can't be setup on this device. T-Mobile assured me it will be working fully after they link the Digits line to it. Which is right before it ships.

Did you get your watch to activate on a T-mobile stand alone line? I have Sprint for my phone. I have a Samsung S2 watch on a stand alone line. I went in and bought a Galaxy Watch at a T-mobile store. We tried for 3 days and never got it to activate on my stand alone line, so I returned it. The guys in the store called all kinds of customer service numbers. They were finally told that Samsung wouldn't allow it to activate on a stand alone line. We all thought it was bs but no one could get it working. So does yours have its own line and number on T-mobile? Thanks.

I only have one line thru T-Mobile and it is the Galaxy watch. My actual phone is a Verizon phone. I had problems getting it to sync to my phone. I called Samsung and t-mobile, both didn't know what was what. I returned my watch and got a new one thinking it was defective. The new one did the same thing. So I went to the Samsung forums with my problem and someone suggested to take it to the store and use one of there phones. So I did.
It took a couple of tries. I used two different phones from the store before the employee just let me use his. I forget what kind of phone he had but that made all the difference. I suggest going into a t-mobile store and syncing your watch to the most current SAMSUNG device they have. What happens is they use the phone to transfer the file you need to your watch. Once you have it downloaded on your watch the LTE should be up and running. You won't need that phone ever again even after a factory reset. Your watch should have its own number and you can connect it to whatever carrier phone you have.
Let it be noted that I did this before any updates occurred. I would have hoped this issue would have been fixed by now. I hope this helps. I will say that T-Mobile was very kind, and when they could be, they were very helpful.
