Well..After posting a thread a few days back about the display problem i was facing with my phone..It's now completely dead everything works fine except no display,It plays sound at startup even vibrate is responsive had bought this phone in USA currently in India,i've visited countless samsung service center they give me the same BS reason as parts not avalible so i wanted to ask you guys there's a way i could possibly fit i9300 LCD into i9305? and what does digitizer do? my Touch is responsive so would i need to buy both LCD and Digitizer or just teh LCD,i need it ASAP as i have my data in phone and it's locked so i can''t copy my data either, please need urgent help.
This forum is for the i747 and i747m version of the s3. You have the international version and there is a separate forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3
The digitizer is the glass on top of the LCD that senses touch. The LCD is what you can see on the phone's screen.
I recommend replacing the digitizer and screen together as the digitizer is bonded to the LCD.
It may not be so simple because it may not be the LCD that is defective. It could be the the phone's motherboard too.

Yeah, the cost of replacing the LCD and digitizer with a really OEM Samsung is expensive which is why I look for used phones with working screens.

Dropped my phone on asphalt today and got a big hairline crack across the screen . (Attached pics)
It really hurts cause i always baby this phone and just the rush to get to work and in my car, completely missed my pocket.
The screen is still responsive to touch and seems to be working normal thank god the lcd screen wasnt damaged and the digitizer didn't shatter.
Got a few questions t
1) just wanted to clarify that the digitizer lies ontop the LCD screen?
2) and that is all that needs replacing?(from damage seen in the pics)
3) also mine is branded just HTC(no carrier, so it's international GSM version?)
4) would it matter if i bought a replacement digitizer meant for the at&t version or not?
5) should be getting a one x that had some water damage and is no longer working. would the digitizer from this phone be a viable option for me to use as a replacement or should i just order the part online.( I really want it replaced fast and if i have to order the replacement it will take about a week to 2 weeks to arrive in my country
so apparently i can't attach any urls until i make 10 posts or i'd show u guys the part i wanted to order but its basically just a screen digitizer from ebay with tools needed for about $17.86.(is that cheap, good or expensive price considering the item + tools)
can you guys please search for it on ebay?the title of the post/part is Touch Screen Digitizer Glass Lens Replacement For HTC One X S720 + Free Tools
the link above is the item i'm looking to order for replacement. is it the right part i'm looking at?and would that be all i need or is there anything else i should add?also quality wise would it be top pick or are there any better options available?
Attached some pics also.Advice would be greatly appreciated.
You are unlikely to be able to separate the digitizer and lcd without damaging the LCD.
A water damaged phone may have a water damaged screen.
Search one of the other broken screen threads for more information.
I've replaced several screens on captivate.easiest way is get replacement(LCD+digetizer) from ebay,Google procedure.watch or read as many times as needed to feel confident to take apart phone.the hardest part is seperating LCD from phone(they use adhesive to secure LCD to phone).I used razor to carefully cut adhesive.
Most components are plug&play.just follow guide completely,u should be fine.
My LCD was $85 on ebay.good luck.

I am wondering the same thing. Every digi/LCD I find says i9300 and i747. But I read that the housing is different . Anyone?

Doesn't work, the housing is not the same. You have to buy the version without frame and chassis and glue the new lcd+digitizer glass on the old chassis.
I fixed mine this way.
If you buy I9300 International LCD+digitizer glass + assembly the back housing will not fit the chassis assembly properly on T-mobile and AT&T S3 models.
crashed display
Hey, guys.
Please tell me where I can buy the display assembly for blue phone is not expensive and without cheating.
And you should pay special attention when ordering online.
I would be grateful.
Sorry for the quality of the language, the message is written with the help of google translator.

So I encountered this issue at work, (I work at a repair shop,) and ran as many button combo's, i.e. power + up / down etc, and the only way I resolved the issue was to throw another i9300 lcd assembly on it. Fired right up, the customer dropped his and must have damaged something on the assembly. We order direct OEM parts, but ebay has plent of them for around 160$ good luck!

:good:
Is I9300 Touchscreen + LCD compatible with i747 AT&T:?
Not compatible. For your mobile phone lcd screen replacement you can go to king-ju.com. This mobile phone parts supplier cover most of the mobile phone brands.
Hey, i have a weird task but i don't trust myself to do it. So is it possible someone on here would be able to repair my T999L screen?
Details: The charger port is broken. I don't know how
The screen is cracked. The outer touch screen is fine, but the LCD is crack
I have a sprint one with a working LCD but the touch screen is cracked, but it works fine. If anyone would be able to separate the touch screen from the sprint S3 and put it on the LCD of the T999L since i use T-Mobile? Payment will be discussed
I have a SGH-M919 Galaxy S4 that works fine except for the touch screen (digitizer). There are no cracks on the screen and the display is fine. I see that there are a lot of guides for replacing the LCD/digitizer combo, but none that show only replacing the digitizer. Is that possible? I assume the combo consists of a front glass, the digitizer, and then the LCD. Can these be separated?
I swapped the motherboard from this S4 with the motherboard on a working S4 and the touch screen remained inoperative, so I know it is just the digitizer. Is it possible it is just the flax cable that connects to the motherboard? If so, can it be replaced by itself.
There are a lot of vendors on eBay selling LCD/digitizer combos for $100 - $200, but I hate spending that much when the screen is working fine. Any suggestions from the forum would be greatly appreciated.

I also would like to know this; if anyone can explain the steps or point towards a guide that would be very helpful.
I have had a bad luck and my phone fell out of my pocket and got cracks on the screen, i think its digitizer because the picture is all perfect inside the screen otherwise the liquid would have defiantly came out of the LCD!!!
I have tried pressing on the cracked class and see if liquid comes out or it forms a black spot or anything but nothing happened!!!
The combo of LCD & Digitizer costs 2500-4000 Indian Rupees while only 800Rs for Digitizer so i am thinking of only buying figitizer from ebay but i dont know any way to separate the LCD & Digitizer
Anyone have any idea on doing that and how can i put the digitizer back on LCD?
Thanks!
P.S. The touch is working perfectly even when cracked heavily!
