xperia z1c black line and fade screen - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have in a trouble with my screen, like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFnjwzcNcX4
and
is that a hardware or software problem?

can anyone help me?

Most likely a hardware problem. Is it the same whenever the screen is on? Like, does the pattern appear when the device is starting up from powered off?

yes, also from the start.
it's show when the device is cold/cpu doesn't work hard, and when I start a hard application (like game or camera) after like a minute its disappear.
do you think its the flex wire or the lcd?and if the lcd, I need to replace the lcd+digitizer?

I'll give you a method to test, if it fails then it's probably hardware.
Go to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Display (Under Screen) and see if the test has passed. If not, then it's a hardware problem. Get it to your warranty or Sony.
Hope I helped

[Q] Backlight will not work

I have seemingly screwed up my phone. for some reason the back light will not come on when my phone is on. If I hold it just right "in the sun only" I can see that the screen is on, and can manipulate the UI. What part of the phone is broken?: the digitizer, lcd screen, some video card part of the motherboard? thanks in advance for your help.
??
Do I have this post in the wrong spot, or has no one dealt with this issue?

Have you confirmed that your system brightness is turned up? If it's a hardware issue, do you have insurance, or are you under warranty?
If the backlight isn't working, it's either a software or hardware issue. If it's software, a factory reset may clear it up, or flashing a stock rom/kernel if you are rooted.
If it's hardware, its the backlight, which is part of the actual LCD.

screen won't display anything but everything works

I was using my phone normally then the
Next day I wanted to use my phone
And it booted But the screen wouldn't show
Anything but it vibrates and receives calls and
Makes noise for notifications etc but screen is black
I'm running android 2.3.7
My bootloader is locked
If there's any fix can someone help thanks
Could someone help please :crying:

Maybe it's slider flex cable, or maybe it's dead display.
Flex is cheaper for repair..
If you already expirienced screen malfunction, keys (front/dpad) not working sometimes, front camera sometimes don't work or automatic light sensor (brightness level) errors then is bigger probability that it's flex cable.
Either way, if you don't know how to open your Play, maybe it's better to give it to some repair shop (or anything similar you have in your city) because it's most likely hardware issue.
You can try to flash stock firmware, to see if it's software issue (but that will reset your data and apps)

[Q] Xperia Play display/ flex cable/ digitizer problem

Hi guys, I'm looking here for help so I will try to describe the problem
So far, I've dismantled it 2 times not completely (didn't dismantle to part of tochscreen, digitizer etc.) and restored stock software twice, also tried rooting and installin CWM.
The problem is : 1.st thing- I't boots up and everything works, I lock it and unlock it without problems.
2.nd thing- If I try to unlock it with opening gamepad the screen stays black, even if I put game pad back.. But touch screen is usable because I can hear the sound and vibration feedback. The display becomes usable after some time of laying around.
3.rd thing- If I unlock it normally like in situation 1 and open gamepad and use phone for while, after I lock it (with opend/closed gamepad) the screen won't come on like in situation 2, but will become usable after some time of laying.
My main suspect is main flax cable.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
Anyone having any idea?

Touch buttons don't light up

Hi,
I recently bought galaxy tab s t800 and my touch buttons (recent apps and back keys) don't light up when I touch then. The lights are working when I press the power button, so there is no problem with the Leds, but when I touch them there is no light.
Does someone experience the same problem or know how to solve it?

Go to Settings/Device/Display/Advanced/Touch key light duration. Make sure it's not set to "Always off".

I check it.
this is on 1.5 seconds
Do you have it in a case of any type, if so take it out and see if it makes an difference, other models of Samsung tablets have had problems with a case causing the touch buttons not to behave correctly, it might be something to do with the magnets.
Also i read this.
It was because power saving mode was enabled. To fix the problem with power saving mode, open Settings > Power saving > Power saving mode > Restrict performance, untick the checkbox Turn off touch key light.

John.
This is odd considering there's a thread about not being able to get the touch buttons to stay off. You can't get yours on and want them on; I want my off and can't get them off. There is definitely something wrong somewhere.

I try what you say about the case and it's also don't work.
I don't know what to do with this problem.
All you can do is a reset to the day you got your tablet, if that does not fix your problem it must be an hardware issue, if you have not rooted or flashed your tablet, and you have removed any case or screen protector and your tablet is still not working correctly i would get it replaced.
Did you do the kitkat to lollipop update as some people say they had problems with the touch button light after the upgrade.
John.
John.
Did you activate the energy saving mode? This will switch off the touch key lights.
Best, maris

when I do that update the problem start.
I wonder why lollipop touch button light problem only affects a small percentage of upgrader`s, what country version did you use.
I would get an replacement if you are still in warranty, or if you are brave and you don't mind flashing try another version of lollipop or even go back to kitkat, I have stayed on kitkat myself because of the amount of reported problems.
I dont know anything about flashing tablets so i cannot help with that.

Sm-t819 touch keys dont light up when touching screen. Weird, wife's 813 wifi model does.
The T800 seems to have some "interesting" foibles. Mine sat for a few months not being used and when booted up had all sorts of issues. Major problem was no WiFi no matter what I did. Was about to crack the case and replace the motherboard when all of a sudden the WiFi started working. (This after many flashes of different ROMs, recoveries, etc etc). On IronROM 6.0.1 now/TWRP and all running well. Sometimes ya just gotta keep at it until it works. YMMV of course.

Question phone wont turn on, need help

i was playing a mobile game that has high graphics, when my phone started to showing network private dns not being found error message. also started having a bit of wifi issues, had to reboot to fix it
5min later screen freezes during gameplay and turns black. couldn't do anything. i had to reboot it, but the same thing kept happening over and over again for while. until the last reboot, above the poco logo boot-screen a thick static line showed up and instead of going into the homescreen it stayed black.
can't seem to charge it either, when i connect a usb i don't hear any sounds. what happened? why is this happening
P.S. battery was still high if this needs to be known info, was wired to my pc. also didn't do any updates either.
edit: there are times i hear the boot up jingle when pressing powerbutton, but thats it
edit 2: can connect with usb (hear jingle), but screen is still black
but can you reboot to recovery or bootloader, by holding the right buttons when rebooting. (recovery power + volume up. release power when screen on. bootloader same story but volume down).
The usb port and the display cable are really close to each other. maybe because you kept the usb plugged in while gaming, you created some sort of movement and partly disconnected the display cable.
maybe just maybe your screen going bad because over heat try to call your phone if you could hear the sound yep sounds like your get bad screen and need replacement

It does - phone is garbage imo. Unless u lucked out and got unlocked version of GPU ( Search konabess 870 ) I'd probably sell it / swap it for some 865 device.
Something like mi 10t pro can do 20hours screen on time with right tweaks
First take it for repair - this is hardware issue that they need to fix under Warranty - then figure out what you wanna do with it
it happen to me when trying some pixel oriented roms. the phone itself can charge but the screen always dark, you might be able to feel slight warn on the back. yes its hardware and I change the whole motherboard freely on xiaomi service center

if it doesnt turn on anymore that could be becuz of overheating were you using performance mode? if you hear a sound and/or if you can go into recovery its likely the screen has been damaged or its the display port or ribbon

i was playing on normal mode, didn't switch anything.

if you feel it vibrate then its probably the screen better take it to a repair shop if you have warranty but dont let them give you a new phone or you'll lose your data
tell them to keep your data
what if its hardware? is my data gone?
depends on the part of the phone if its the motherboard your data is likely to not be restored by the average repair shop
