I am having an issue with push notifications on wifi. Notifications do not come until I turn on my screen, then they come flooding in. If I leave my house and get LTE data they also come flooding in without turning on the screen.
Everything but facebook messenger seems to be affected for me. My wife's G3 phone works fine on wifi and does not have this issue. I have installed PNF and have the heartbeat set to 5 minutes, and the issue remains. I set my tablet to DMZ on my modem, and the issue remains. I am on the most current OTA from verizon (5.0.2).
Being I do not get LTE data in my house, this is a real killer for me (especially with texts and emails). Any suggestions of what to do next would be very much appreciated.
Do you have the Advanced WIFI option set to keep WIFI on when screen is off (the "Yes" option)? I don't keep my WIFI on with the screen on so I couldn't advise further.

Hi,
My 3g connection keeps connecting even when i turn it off, within a few minutes i check again and its turned itself back on again, how do i stop this? i use 3g but only when im not in a wifi area...any help appreciated cas it seems be having a drain on my battery cas i have wifi and 3g on at same time then.
There are several 'services' that you can run on your phone that will cause 3g to keep connecting.
What have you got running?
ive got my emails setup, ive got stocks, also weather, skype (but not always running)
ok, have you set any of these to update automatically?
Plus, have a look on the Settings tab then data services also if you has agps set to on, i think this will also cause it to connect.
emails are automatic, but is it possible to do it via wifi when thats active? instead of activating 3g
For the last couple months when the screen goes off or i leave the phone for a while, gtalk will "loose connection to the server" and wont recive messages , sometimes the same goes for email.
i have all the settings to keep the connection on when screen goes off etc.
is their a solution for this
thanks
Maybe settings for your Wi-Fi or data connection?
Have you set your Wifi Policy to never sleep?
In Wifi Settings, press Menu and then advanced. Set it to never sleep, otherwise your wifi will disconnect when you put the phone into standby.
If it's not that, not sure what it could be.
yh i checked that setting, i tested on 3g now, it seems on 3g theirs no disconnects, so as its only wifi i can only imagine it may be my router etc, not a phone issue
Anyone else notice Wi-Fi randomly deciding to turn off/not connect to automatic networks, like your home or office?
I notice that sometimes I'll pick up my phone and go to use the VPN and it will say I can't connect because I'm not connected to the Internet. Or I'll get an email in Gmail while using my laptop and wonder why my phone didn't beep just then and notify me. I then look in the to corner and see it isn't connected to my network, nor making an attempt to. The Wi-Fi signal symbol just isn't there. The Wi-Fi quick settings button is highlighted meaning Wi-Fi is in fact enabled, but it isn't connected to it for some reason. The second I go look at the network list -- and it does see all the networks so I know for sure it is enabled and scanning -- it instantly tries to connect and does so perfectly fine.
I thought it was just a bad signal once or a router issue, but it has happened several times now since updating to 4.3. This has never happened before.
It's just like it randomly decides not to try and connect to the network unless I open up the network list. It's random as far as I can tell. It's usually fine, but it has happened on more than one occasion now since upgrading to 4.3.
Any ideas? I haven't changed any settings since 4.3. I thought it might be battery/idle related, but once I get it to connect again, it stays connected no matter what the status of the battery or how long it's idle. This makes me think it's probably a bug.
I have a SGH-I747, baseband I747UCDMG2, using CM 10.2 Snapshot M1, and have issues with remaining connected to Google's servers. If I put the phone in standby (pushing power button), when I wake the phone back up, the data arrows go back and forth, and then the connection type goes grey. It will cycle between 3G, H, and H+. It will finally connect, and I can resume my Google services. I'm in a location that gets good signal (current signal strength is -89, and is pretty much constant). Since my number has been ported to Google Voice, it effects receiving text messages in a timely fashion. I know it's not Google Voice doing something weird, as when I'm at home, and on WiFi, I have no issues with text message delays.
It seems to be all of the CM roms I've tried do this same thing. Although, I remember before I rooted and flashed CM, I had similar behavior on Touchwiz roms (I would see G, 3G, 4G, 4G LTE).
I don't mind flashing the newest radio that came with the 4.3 update, but it's a pain to not get notified about a message I received 20-30 minutes ago.
Is this normal behavior for the radio to step down the connection, to save battery, and then upon waking, needs to reconnect to the google servers? I do not have any type of battery saver app installed, shutting down the data connection.
With a * next to this statement, I'm going to say I have this fixed. I had the Voice+ enabled, so my GV texts would be forwarded to my messaging app. I disabled that, and now I seem to be better off. It still does the whole 3G/H/H+, greys out, etc, but longest delay on a text lately has been just 6 minutes, dealing directly with the GV app.
I am unable to receive calls and texts when my phone is connected to wifi network. The call will go to voicemail and I won't receive any notification even when the phone's screen is on. Once I turn off the wifi, voicemails, and text will come in rapid succession.
If I again turn on the wifi, everything will work fine for next 20-30mins and then the same problem will come back.
I am on OOS 5.1.1 not rooted. My network is t-mobile. I have done a factory reset and explored multiple options on the web.
Users reported similar problems with previous versions of Oneplus.
My wife has one plus 5 and she is also having the same problem.
Any solution will be appreciated.
Same issue here
Rooted, OOS 5.1.2, T-Mobile.
I guess no one anywhere in the op5/t community has this issue except 3 of us? Anyone? Can anyone help?
@DragonMessor Hey everyone on T-mobile with this issue. I solved it. I had to go into the T-mobile app and then click the "more" tab. Go to address and then check the box that says "make this the e911 address for all lines".
That will lock in the VoWifi in and allow texts over wifi. My texts over wifi now work with no cell signal and even with wifi off. I am using google messages and I don't even have the option for advanced messaging in the app. Hopefully the OP gets this if he didn't move on to another phone yet and hopefully it helps someone. ?
