GT-I9195L no carrier connection (CM) - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
does anyone know the (technical/ chipset wise) differences between these 2 models,
I've got unlocked GT-I9195L (Telcel) with stock ROM off eBay, so I rooted the device and flashed CM 11-20140207-NIGHTLY-serranoltexx (Kernel [email protected]), every thing works except the phone wont connect to my carrier, I live in EU.
I've tried to flash almost all available serranoltexx CM using ether CWM and TWRP - but no dice same issue on all ROMs.
So in my opinion and correct me if I`m wrong the issue could be the Baseband version which is I9195LUBUBNC1.
Only information I was able to find regarding those two models is that they are basically the same, as mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50294975&postcount=5
Google wasn't helpful - found little or no information regarding the I9195L model...
So my question is:
Is it possible to flash another Baseband (for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545784) on my phone.
Thanks!

Anyone?

[Q] can i flash international version on At&t note 2?

Hi all, I've a very noob question regarding the note 2. I've just recently bought a at&t phone but I'm not using it in America. Is it OK for me to flash the international versions of ROMs and kernel?
What's the difference if I use the international version? I'm looking to change the modem anyway.
I've tried to look for information regarding this but can't find anything. I'm not new to flashing phone but this is my first note 2.
Thanks!

Hi,
I advice you not to flash N7100 ROMs on your AT&T device. It may work but it will conflict on firmware.
If you flash via Odin you'll probably have a red failed on the log or a black screen at boot... Keep AT&T firmwares.
It will erase your EFS folder (no phone/data/wifi) guaranteed if you do that. Please stay away from n7100 roms, you have been warned.

[Q] Newbie modem question

Hello all. I have a I9195T (Telstra, Australia - Serranoltexx), which I took the plunge and rooted (thank you arco68!) and then installed CM10.2 direct from the CM wiki page. This is working great, but I am bit confused as to how the modem works. I appear to have retained my baseband (phew!), but wonder how this translates to using other custom ROM's from XDA etc.
If they are made for a different baseband (but for I9195) is it possible to backup the MODEM firmware, flash another ROM and then flash the MODEM over again to retain the baseband? If this is possible where do I find the MODEM firmware to back it up? I've had a search but I think I am missing the really low level understanding of how the MODEM itself fits into the ROM picture.
Any help appreciated, even if its just a search term suggestion or link.
edit: I should put my baseband is I9195TDVUAMH1, using 1800mhz LTE.

As far as i know our devices does not have any limitations concerning flashing ROMs and having an "incorrect" Modem.
I would recommend though to have always the latest modem.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 SGH-T889V Custom ROM Installation

Hi, I recently joined XDA to get information about how to install or modify custom roms.
I firstly tried to search before making this thread, but I couldn't get exact information that I wanted. (Or, my searching was crap..)
I'm very new to Android (was using iPhones), so I would be very appreciated if you can help starting from basic knowledge.
Device Type - Samsung Galaxy Note II
Model Number - SGH-T889V
Android Version - 4.4.2
Baseband Version - T889VVLUDNH2
Kernal Version - 3.0.31-1736364
Build Number - KOT49H.5889VVLUDNH2
Carrier - WIND Mobile
1.
What is the most stable Custom ROM for my device?
I saw Cyanogen, MIUI, OMNI, etc.
However, I couldn't select anything since I didn't know whether they support my device or not.
2.
Can you help me to find information about installing them? (from #1 question)
3.
I saw that Note 2 can have Note 3 or 4 roms.
I want to know the difference between note 2 and note 4 roms. (like more stable, fast, compatible, etc)
4.
I saw that my device could be locked by WIND.
How can I check if it's locked without getting new SIM card?
5.
Also, I saw T889 and T889V have different modem.
If I flash T889 modem, I wouldn't go back to T889V modem, is this correct?
If so, what do I have to do prior to flashing ROM and modem?
If you need more information, I can definitely provide them, so feel free to tell me!
Thanks to whoever would help me.

[Q] Add custom Cell Modem Baseband?

Hi guys, I saw people that have the One+ flashing basebands to their rom, is this possible for our device?
Additionally, how do I also add it to an only-WIFI rom, to allow phone capabilities(3G,etc.) to be enabled? ( I have a P601)
(I flashed the Nexus Experience Rom for the P600 on my P601, because Shawn5162 said he was going to bring it but as yet he doesn't even reply to my PMs :sigh: , also Schischu says he won't port it to the P601 )
It's my experience that the modem images are signed and the bootloader won't flash them to any device except the one it's intended for; I couldn't even put P605 modems on my P607T, which is 99% the same device.

Kernel Questions

I apologize if this is explained elsewhere, did a search but not coming up with much:
I'm somewhat new to Android rooting. I have a Verizon M8 that was on 4.4.4. I installed Sunshine 3.02, got root no problem, TWRP installed with no issues, SU installed fine. I tried to run a few of the Lollipop ROMs but they would not run, I jut got returned to TWRP. (Some, like ViperOneM8 run fine). According to a post in another thread, I also need to update the kernel to get it to work with these newer ROMs.
My question is: what now? There's a section on XDA for Kernels but they all appear to be custom kernels, the ROM I want to use (Android Revolution) says that using the stock kernel is best. How do I find these kernels and how do I figure out which one to use?
Anyone willing to give me the short version of when I would need a new kernel and why?
Thanks for any help!
You need to update to Lollipop firmware.
You should also make sure you stick to ROMs that specifically support the Verizon variant (if you are not doing so already) as its a CDMA variant, which is different hardware from most other (GSM) versions.
