[Q] can i flash international version on At&t note 2? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I've a very noob question regarding the note 2. I've just recently bought a at&t phone but I'm not using it in America. Is it OK for me to flash the international versions of ROMs and kernel?
What's the difference if I use the international version? I'm looking to change the modem anyway.
I've tried to look for information regarding this but can't find anything. I'm not new to flashing phone but this is my first note 2.
Thanks!

Hi,
I advice you not to flash N7100 ROMs on your AT&T device. It may work but it will conflict on firmware.

If you flash via Odin you'll probably have a red failed on the log or a black screen at boot... Keep AT&T firmwares.

It will erase your EFS folder (no phone/data/wifi) guaranteed if you do that. Please stay away from n7100 roms, you have been warned.

[Q] Just purchased a AT&T S3 to use on T-Mobile - Rooting and Rom Questions

As the title states, I just picked up a AT&T galaxy S3. I am looking to use it on T-Mobile. Coming from a galaxy S1, the unlocking procedure is a bit different. It also seems that roms are fairly brand specific, so I assume I should be looking for i747 roms. There are so many options out there, could anyone point me in the right direction to get this phone up and running? Are there any special considerations I should be taking since I am using an AT&T phone on T-Mobile?

Before you do anything, if you want to unlock you phone so you can use it on another network go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033225&highlight=sim+unlock
You will probably need to change the apn numbers to match t-mobile which is easy.... as far as roms go, you should do some searching for t-moible roms in the development thread. Also not being familiar with AT&T and T-mobile you should check to see if they use the same band and also check which modem (radio) you need... I am sure there have been lots of people that have done this arleady.... search search search at least you asked the question before you started not after you had a wreck
Thanks for the link. I did the unlock procedure, haven't tested it yet since I still need to cut down my SIM card.
I also went through and did the CF-Root procedure with ODIN. So theoretically the phone should be ready to flash a custom rom.
I was under the impression that I should be looking at i747 roms instead of the T-mobile version (i999?) since my device is originally AT&T branded. You are saying this is not the case? Basically I should look at roms in the T-Mobile section? It might not matter anyway since some popular roms run on both.
UPDATE:
I installed Stockorama V2 on the phone and it is up and running on t-mobile. It is a multi-carrier rom, but I used the AT&T options when installing. Would I have better luck installing it as T-Mobile? Basically, can I install a T999 rom/kernel on a i747?

Hey everyone,
I'm definitley not a noob at flashing roms / rooting / unlocking , etc....Been flashing phones like crazy the last few years (s3,note2,htc one, nexus, etc)But I have one question that I cannot find the answer anywere.. I bought a T Mobile S4 which was blacklisted on T Mobile so I am using it on AT&T wtih full LTE.. Which Roms do I flash for this thing? Do I flash TMO roms or ATT roms, or does the kernal flash just matter? If this is a stupid question, sorrry! lol. Just don't want to brick this thing.

Not trying to sound TOO condesending, but you haven't read much of anything in these forums if you couldn't find your answer to that. All variants of the S4 can flash each other's ROMs as long as you immediately flash a kernel for your specific device. You have a T-Mobile device so you will need kernels from this section; but you are free to use ROMs for the AT&T, Sprint, i9505, etc. Just don't flash anything via Odin that's not meant for your specific device, and don't flash anything at all meant for the Exynos version (i9500).

Yeah I know most ROMS support all Variants but I wasn't 100% sure. I must of been searching the wrong things....I was confused with the kernal flashing as well. I have always owned a Carrier Specific device and never have used an unlocked device thus far, so I was a bit confused . Thanks for Clarifying though! :good:
Infamous S4 ROM has an Aroma installer that will support multi carriers.
Look at the change log for more details.

How are you still using the blacklisted phone if it's blocked for tmobile? Thought the two carriers shared imeis?

I was going to say the same thing. If you're blacklisted on T-Mobile, you'll be blacklisted on AT&T. I have a blacklisted T-Mobile and any sim (even international) is blacklisted while in the US. However, in other countries, it works fine.

How can I use international roms on t-mobile note 3?

I'm using my T-mobile Jump tomorrow to get a Note 3. Of course, the first thing I'm going to do is: open the box, plug the phone in, then root it. I don't know much about this phone since I have been using an HTC One running Cyanogen Mod. So, My question is, what's the best way to unlock the Note 3's full potential? I.e: I see many root solutions, which do you prefer and why? By rooting and installing custom recovery (TWRP, CWM, ect), am I able to use ROMS on the International Samsung Galaxy Note 3 forums, or am I limited to T-Mobile only offerings? I wouldn't consider myself a NOOB, or a Dev, just an enthusiast who wants to help other enthusiasts, please leave your advice and experiences below.

First thing you need to do is to learn about KNOX, there are dozens of threads related to KNOX so
it's easy to find.
If your new phone is a NOTE 3 and you don't read up on the KNOX issue but simply go and root the
phone your warranty might be void afterwards.
You need to read up on the official 4.3 rom & the MK2 baseband which all new NOTE 3 phones have
before you root or flash any cwm/twrp flashable zip files including roms and kernels.
Once you decide what to do about the KNOX and still want to root your phone and flash custom roms
I would highly suggest to only flash roms in the Tmobile Note 3 forum, & only flash those roms which
are based on Tmobile 4.3 Jellybean Touchwiz firmwares.
Flashing any other roms will result in loosing the ability to use free tmobile wifi calling as well as loosing
most all of the bells and whistle which makes the NOTE 3 such a great phone.
In my experience with custom roms, the Wicked & Darthstalker roms are the only 2 that I would even consider flashing.
Do a lot of reading before you decide or do anything.
Good luck!
Vision X will work just fine, give it a look see also....

Yes, I flashed the Bobcat 3.0 rom too, and it looks like a Million Dollars, best LOOKING rom I have
ever seen... BUT unless the dev who created it can get himself a N900T Tmobile Note 3 phone to
test with, we will never have wifi calling if we flash the Bobcat International Note 3 rom.
I flashed it a few hours ago and am still debating with myself if I want to keep it or not. LOL
Hello!
I have a SM-N900T Baseband N900TUVUBMI7. But unfortunately, there is no Russian System language (not possible to enable it through the setting.)
I live in Russia, in this regard, I have a couple of questions:
1. Does the Russian language in international ROM?
2. What ROM you can recommend with support Russian system language and the maximum cut off apps from T-mobile and ather (consist only samsung apps)?
This "abundance" is useless for me.
I would be very grateful for the link to the thread of this ROM.
P.S.Sorry for the poor english.
Can i Flash 4.4.2 Leaked for SM-N9005 on SM-N900T?.
Hi, can i flash roms for sm-n9005 on my t-mobile note 3?? specially the leaked 4.4.2 kit kat? Thank you.

Here is the link for Bobcatrom v3 EVO XDA thread:

Here is the direct download link for Bobcatrom v3 EVO rom:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319196459
After flashing this rom on a N900T Galaxy Note 3 phone you will not have
Wifi, Bluetooth or NFC until you flash this wifi-bluetooth-nfc-FIX.zip file.
So you need to flash the rom first, set it all up so it's working properly then
go back into cwm/twrp custom recovery and flash the fix file below:
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/...en900T/Needed_Files_BT_WIFI_NFC_Flashable.zip
After you flash the fix file, wifi, bluetooth and nfc will all work fine.
Good luck!

Sure you can, you can flash the 4.4.2 kitkat but don't expect everything to work properly,
especially wifi, data and many other things in it still need fixing.
That's why it's called a "leak"..
Good luck!
Does N900T have Russian language as a system language? I intend to root the phone and install Language Enabler from the market. The app reveals hidden languages but before I proceed I'd like to make sure that the phone does have Russian (hidden in it).
Thank you.
Hi, I have similar problem as escudovod1972. Live in the UK and have the T-mobile version (SM-N900T) of the note 3. Would like to have Russian and Lithuanian languages but keep the phone as close to stock as possible.
Was wondering if I could achieve this, by flashing one of these:
"International SM-N9005 Galaxy Note 3 Stock Firmware"
Will I need to flash a T-Mobile kernel separately?
Also if this works, will I loose any functionality?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

You can flash a unified rom aka hlte (more info: http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/unified-builds) like cyanogen, carbon rom(using this on my N3 Tmobile in UK just now), AOKP and many more(safe to say that all have Russian), if you like the AOSP/AOKP look. Or go for X-note or other touch wiz based unified roms.
Anyways, take a look here for more info and rom lists: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3#romList
Hope this helps

N9005XXUENE3 = 4.4.2 = Build date: Wed, 28 May 2014 08:59:36 +0000 = Russia (MegaFon)
I have this rom at my site, I make all kinds of roms... made this just a while ago... just flash the rom, http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=devices&uid=9390248398092763634
I try all the roms, before posting them, make a backup then flash the rom,,, N9005XXUENE3_hlte_Stock_Odex_Not_Rooted_NoKnox.zip
I would not advise flashing the firmware... your rooted, its safer just flashing the rom...
I just made a UK rom earlier today, using this one, I was using Singapore for the past 3 or 4 days... I like using the newest rom...

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 SGH-T889V Custom ROM Installation

Hi, I recently joined XDA to get information about how to install or modify custom roms.
I firstly tried to search before making this thread, but I couldn't get exact information that I wanted. (Or, my searching was crap..)
I'm very new to Android (was using iPhones), so I would be very appreciated if you can help starting from basic knowledge.
Device Type - Samsung Galaxy Note II
Model Number - SGH-T889V
Android Version - 4.4.2
Baseband Version - T889VVLUDNH2
Kernal Version - 3.0.31-1736364
Build Number - KOT49H.5889VVLUDNH2
Carrier - WIND Mobile
1.
What is the most stable Custom ROM for my device?
I saw Cyanogen, MIUI, OMNI, etc.
However, I couldn't select anything since I didn't know whether they support my device or not.
2.
Can you help me to find information about installing them? (from #1 question)
3.
I saw that Note 2 can have Note 3 or 4 roms.
I want to know the difference between note 2 and note 4 roms. (like more stable, fast, compatible, etc)
4.
I saw that my device could be locked by WIND.
How can I check if it's locked without getting new SIM card?
5.
Also, I saw T889 and T889V have different modem.
If I flash T889 modem, I wouldn't go back to T889V modem, is this correct?
If so, what do I have to do prior to flashing ROM and modem?
If you need more information, I can definitely provide them, so feel free to tell me!
Thanks to whoever would help me.

Will N7105 Custom ROMs run on SGH-i317M?

Hey guys,
I'm sure this has probably been answered somewhere but I have an old SGH-i317M from TELUS and was wondering if you can flash custom ROMs for N7105 on these old devices. I've noticed that only the International variants have been kept up to date in terms of development work when looking at Cyanogenmod whereas the US models have pretty much died after KitKat.
May you please advise?
Thank you.
deltatux
No, don't use anything from a different model number.
I know that other than the modem firmware, there is no difference between the sgh-i317, sgh-t889, and gt-n7105. However I don't know if the SGH-i317M from TELUS is any different from the SGH-i317 from AT&T. Some cursory googling leads me to believe that they're the same.
You can use 85% of gt-n7105 on i317 i am currenlt using Mokee from N7105, flash shift kernel firstafter flashing rom then reboot
