Sorry, the Sprint Note 4 unlocked can run LTE on the TMobile network? Apparently it can be rooted and flash custom roms right? Sorry for obvious questions but Im ready to buy one and need to be sure.
Thanks!!
It can be unlocked, but will only work with 4G, not LTE, check the Note 4 questions tab on the sprint section, there was already a thread started a while back ago. T-Mobile will tell you it won't work though, but there are ways around it.

I was under the impression that you'd actually have to change the modem firmware in order to get a domestic GSM unlock on a Sprint device, if the S5 was any indication. That's where it seems to be locked out.
Since the Note 4 was launched prior to Feb 15, 2015, it's very unlikely Sprint will ever bother with permitting any sort of domestic SIM unlock for it (international is another matter entirely), and that's before we get into the missing LTE bands for full T-Mobile compatibility.
That said, if someone does pull off a working DOMESTIC unlock (T-Mobile, AT&T, MVNOs thereof, etc.), I'd sure like to know about it!
How do you unlock it though?
I know this thread has probably fizzled out or not, but THERE IS a domestic unlock for Sprint Note 4 and all others. It is NOT FREE. However, if one would search and read you will find it. Full data and SMS works perfectly. I have 3 Sprint Note 4's on T-Mobile US.

I am looking to purchase an AT&T Galaxy Note 2 and need the following question answered... I am aware of the unlock link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014982 that uses the method of dialing the following keys *#197328640# but here is my concern... Does this method allow you to use a Verizon Sim as if you had purchased a Verizon Galaxy Note 2? In other words does it unlock the CDMA band also?
Thanks for any correct information...

Until vzw goes to VoIP in the next few years the only thing the sim supports is 4g data. Because lte is a gsm based network, sim cards are needed. Nothing else in a Verizon phone used the sim so no you would not receive full service using a vzw sim. Not sure if you'd receive data or not but I'm betting no
Verizon uses CDMA for voice, and CDMA/LTE for data. Not only are the LTE frequencies incompatible, but CDMA is incompatible as well. So no, the Note 2 will not work AT ALL on Verizon.
Also to note, Verizon will only let you activate VERIZON BRANDED phones on their network. You can't buy unlocked phones and use them like a GSM carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile in the US) would. Sprint is the same way.

Ok, so if I purchased a Verizon Galaxy Note 2, and rooted it, I could then use AT&T and later if I finally want to switch over to Verizon, I could... If I am mistaken about this, please let me know. Because I am trying to get a Galaxy Note 2 that will work with both GSM carriers and also work with Verizon when/if I choose to switch.
No. Verizon and AT&T phones/networks are not compatible with each other at all.

This does not exist on ANY Note 2 on earth. Possible with *SOME* other phones, but not any Samsungs, and definitely more trouble than it's worth. NONE will be LTE compatible though. 99% of the GSM compatible phones on Verizon are locked on only work internationally, and will not work AT ALL for the US.

I've been wondering about this. Can't the Verizon "international" phones be unlocked, then used with a US SIM?

"Yes. Verizon GN 2 on AT&T network. Phone is rooted. AT&T APN added with APN Manager Pro. Decent speeds too with just 2 bars. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2"
Just pulled this off of a different thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044449
Seems like the Verizon GN2 can do AT&T with data, as long as you rooted and adjust the APN file. If this is incorrect please let me and the rest of the form know how or why this is incorrect....

I already said data "could" work. That'd not the issue. Getting everything to work is what seems to be unlikely. Different frequencies for voice/text.

Any new Verizon phones can work on any GSM HSPA+ network with some trickery or are unlocked out the box. Some phones work on At&T and T-mobile while others only work with carriers outside the U.S. YMMV.

So I was talking to a Samsung rep at a Best Buy and she told me they may release a Developers Edition of the Note 4. I Googled it and see confirmation that there will be a Developers edition and that it will be sold through Verizon but not subsidized to any carrier. It should be released mid-November and cost around $660.00 Full Price.
That being said, does anyone plan to get the Dev Edition in order to Root/ROM? I am still rocking my Galaxy S3 but may end up going with the Note 4 so long as it has full Root/ROM.
I already have a note 4 but i might...Is it going to be able to use AT&T's 4G LTE? or only H+?
It seems that it's going to be a Verizon exclusive and will stay that way... I guess that it could be unlocked but Verizon phones have no simcard right? So I assume it would never work with AT&T

Verizon uses sim cards now too. They use it for their 4g. If a verizon phone is unlocked it can be used on AT&T but usually only with H+. I just didn't know if there was a different case with this one. Why is verizon getting all of the good phones? Droid turbo and now this?
I'll probably wait until it does release to see if its compatible with AT&T but I definitely require it to be LTE and not just H+. Hopefully it is a fully unlocked device with all of the bands needed to work with AT&T.
If that's true I might even sell mine to get it
It's for Verizon only. They use a different LTE it's CDMA based so will be no help for ATT users. If you want to get one for ATT you need to have everyone blowing up their twitter Facebook etc to get one released.

Just maybe like verizon's previous iphones that worked on att and tmobile just fine. But still doesnt make sense a developer version just for verizon, we know most developers are on gsm, jk
Hi all, I have a Sprint note 4 and love it. However I also have a Go Phone sim from work and want to use this Note 4 on that network.
I have looked all over the web for days and can't find the answer - can the Sprint Note 4 be SIM unlocked for domestic USA use for AT&T?
I know that the radios are there for every network (much like a Google Nexus phone has all radios)...
Thanks.

Ignore Thanitos Post they are entirely wrong. Check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...al/sim-unlock-domestic-international-t3300059 that is listed for the S6 Edge Plus however if you read it is going to mention Note among other samsung models. Its worth a try as it is free. If that happens not to work use this.. http://www.idoneapps.com/ this guy charges but I know for a fact he does good work. I have used his service to unlock a Sprint S5 for use on AT&T Go Phone, as well as I purchased a used note 4 that had a security feature called reactivation lock enabled. It made it so that the $350 purchase was a literal brick couldn't unlock my phone. Contact the idone.apps guy because he seemed experienced with java and android. He definitely is and was able to unlock my device remotely. I am still using the same note 4 on AT&T GoPhone now :good:
Sprint/Verizon use a CDMA network and ATT/T-Mobile use GSM. Simply put, you can't use CDMA devices on a GSM network. They won't work at all (as opposed to working, but not getting 3G or something. They just won't work at all.)

I'm looking to purchase an Unlocked Note 4 with LTE (will be used on AT&T)
There are so many different models of the Note 4 with LTE out there. I'm wanting the snapdragon 805 processor and LTE that will give me full LTE speeds on AT&T network.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
(I'd like to be able to run cyanogenmod on it if at all possible)
Thanks!
(edit)
My apologies, I meant to say a Factory Unlocked phone, with none of the bloatware loaded on it from the carriers.
If you've read at all on here you've seen that the AT&T version hasn't even been rooted yet. So installing cyanogenmod isn't an option on this one at this point. I've heard the tmobile one is the way to go if you want to do that.

There are no AT&T bootloader unlocked note 4. Sim unlock is easy, but most confuse the two.
Best alternative seems to be the tmo version, which is only missing a couple bands.
Brother is getting a new phone and I'd like to buy his AT&T Note 4. However, I'm on T-Mobile. I unlocked the AT&T Note 2 via radio flashing to work on T-Mobile and it seems that LTE works. So what about the AT&T Note 4?
Yes, as long as it's unlocked, I bought mine off of craigslist already unlocked. I'm using mine on metro pcs network and have lte service. I wish I would have researched and got an Tmobile note 4 seeming they have root available.

I've never gotten an answer, even though I asked it a month of Sundays ago. But my question was if I took my AT&T 4 over to TMO, could I use WiFi calling through. 3rd party app like GrooveIP? I heard that WiFi calling wasn't an option if you take your unlocked phone over to them, though it was never confirmed.
My Note 4 was purchased outright, so I can get it unlocked with no problems.
