Hi everyone,
I just updated my Sony smart Watch 3 and the compass option has disappeared off the map app. I only have centre, searching around you and +-. Prior to the update I had the option to let the display to rotate as you moved which was really good. Has anyone else got the problem. All my apps on my s5 and the watch are up to date.
cheers

I just thought it was me, I have posted a thread on the Android wear help forum too.
What version of Maps on your phone? Maybe 9.13.0 killed it? I still have it with 9.12.1
Edit: well crap. I may still have the compass rotation, but just realized I have the compass bug that makes it unreliable.
Here's pumpytums' thread on the google forums. Google is looking for feedback from users on this.

Thanks for that you are exactly right I downgraded to 9.12.1 and compass function came back.
So the temporary fix is to keep maps at 9.12.1

It will do that when you enter a tunnel or something (and thus the overall ambient light is decreased), Or put your finger on the brightness sensor while the navigation is on (try it) You either have a ROM that has an issue with brightness sensors, Or the brightness sensor on your phone is messed up/Covered up by something.
Tbh i really like the look of the inverted maps xD

I think he means the direction is wrong...
like it faces on the screen the opposite way than you're actually going
You have to allow the compass to recalibrate itself. Go outside, turn on maps with GPS, and wave it around in figure 8s for a while.

A friend have the direction problem with his S-II, Someone have an idea forma a solution? I'm not sure will be related to the compass because it happen only when si in navigation mode, not when he use maps...
Edit: solution found for him, simply removed the battery...
hi
I,ve just replaced a nexus7 2013 after i hit the multitouch problem, everything was fine with it whilst it was running build JWR66N,but then i got a notification to update to the latest version.
I was reluctant to do so,but eventually decided to take the plunge,so i updated,it put build JSS15Q on my nexus...result was terrible multitouch issues, basically the update had inflicted my "working perfectly tablet" with the dreaded multitouch issue, needless to say i was gutted.
My new nexus again comes with the JWR66N build,my question is,can i stop the tablet auto downloading the new update(JSS15Q),i know i don't actually have to install it,but i was told that if i power of my nexus,it will automatically install the update when i reboot,is this true?
Don't want to go anywhere near that JSS15Q update,or any future updates at all if possible.
To be honest,i'm not that interested in having bleeding edge versions,if my nexus works flawlessly on the JWR66N build then i could'nt care less if i never updated ever again,if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
You should look at the two posts in my signature. They will cover everything you need.
BTW the update won't automatically install when you reboot. You can also turn off the notification in the framework services configuration.

Okay, thanks Sfhub, can I just ask though,I have the jss15q update sitting in my notification panel, until I specifically allow it,will it just stay there,I mean, will it at some point install itself without any action by me.
What happens if I reboot, will that instigate the update process.
As long as I'M in control of when it gets installed I'm happy,I know it fixes the GPS issue, but I literally never use GPS,so I'm not bothered about fixing that.
Would really really appreciate some help on this, cheers pal

Correct
settings->apps->all->google services framework
uncheck show notifications
if you get tired of the notification (it'll probably get rid of other Google notifications also)

This shouldn't happen, though you might hit the notification by accident then panic and ask it to continue.

This is my first post, please tell me if there is anything wrong with the structure.
I have tried everything, installed every single rom on xda, but i can't make the rotation and motion sensors to work. They used to work, until i flashed the leaked 4.3 stock from samsung... after about a week they stopped working. Out of the blue really, the phone has no dents or bumps.. any solution?

Get GPS STATUS app from play store, open it up and hit the menu button, then click on TOOLS, this will let you calibrate the sensors.
Hope this will solve it, please let me know :victory:

Can you give me an example of how you know that these sensors are not working? What are the scenarios where you see it not working?

Well you can't go on landscape mode.. calibration does nothing. Can't use apps that depend on gyroscope.
The motion features won't work at all, non of them. Quick glance etc.
Greetings,
I was told by a comrade that XDA is the realms for us, mortals, to seek for guidance and enlightenment.
So, I acquired my new LG G3 last night. Everything is flawless and almighty, except for the compass: It won't point to the correct direction. It is always 90 to 180 degree inaccurate. This sure is a big letdown as I depend on navigation features frequently.
I have tried calibrating it with numerous apps like Compass, Bubble Level, 360 Compass, etc etc (basically most of compass-ish device out there) but none of them does any good.
Anyone out there experiencing the same matter? Is it possibly software issue? or maybe hardware issue? Is it fixable?
For additional informations, I include my phone informations here:
Model number: LG-D855
Android version: 4.4.2
Software version: V10h-EUR-XX (updated to the latest version)
I humbly thank you for the help
I take it you have done the mandatory twisting and turning figure of eight movements to put the sensors through their calibrations?
I find it takes a good few minutes before I have an accurate reading.
Decent compass apps I use are 'Field Compass Holo' by Chartcross Limited and 'Compass' by Espengineer.

woaaahh, it works, Sir! It works!
I have previously done the eight movement calibration countless times with different apps but never worked.
Then I attempted with the apps you suggested, and voila..!! Compass works perfectly now!
Please accept my humble gratefulness, Sir. I bow before you. Thank you

No problem... Pleased you got it sorted.
I have the same problem with my LG G3, do you mind going into more detail about how you fixed the compass?
Does anyone know of a setting or anything that would keep the compass from working? I've tried doing a hard reset twice now and it still won't work. I may try returning it and getting another watch if I can't get it to work.
There is no compass.

I swear I used to be able to use a watch face with a compass and it would work just fine. Also would work with compass apps on the phone.

Can confirm, there is really no compass. No use in getting the watch replaced.
Which watchface were you using?
Dark suite and classic watch faces have compass. You guys are silly hehehehe
