[Q] My Galaxy Note II soft bricked, please help!!

Hello Good people of xda forum
please i have a very big problem at my hand involving my newly acquired galaxy note II, the international version and i was hoping that some of you could help me out here because this is driving me nuts.
My galaxy note II is 2 weeks old and i rooted it 5 days after i got it with Odin and everything seems to work smooth ever since.
My problem now started yesterday when i stupidly went to install the chainfire 3d plugin because i wanted to try my older games that worked better on my qualcomm desire HD that wouldn't work well on my note II and what happened next has left me with sorrows since yesterday evening.
My lovely Note won't boot up anymore. It always gets stuck on the samsung galaxy note II logo. I am on the stock samsung rom.
I have tried everything i could read online to get it working including entering clockworkmod recovery, wiping data, cache, daivik, factory reset, formating sd and external sd card and nothing seems to work.
I have even tried entering odin download mode and downloading a custom firmware to flash but it keeps saying ''downloading'' but never finishes.
I am helpless now and do not want the 619 EURO i paid for this phone to be a waste. I can't return it since it is already rooted and i cannot unroot it in it's current state.
Is there any way for me to copy over the stock rom zip file to the external sd and flash it from there? If yes, can anyone provide me with a stock rom zip file to flash as i cant seem to find it anywhere?
My galaxy note II is the international version, bought at Saturn electronics shop, germany.
I will also admit that i am not so good with the technical stuff so a little explanation could help.

There are stock roms in the note 2 forum here on XDA. You can boot into CWM recovery and mount your SD card to be able to use on your laptop/PC. If that fails, you can get the Android SDK specifically adb and push it to your internal SD.
I've done the same on my old Galaxy S2, so don't worry it's recoverable! I suggest getting a stock rom and flash via Odin, failing that use the method I mentioned above.

Best thing to try in ur case is make a full wipe and factory reset from recovery then to flash stock rom using odin then to make a wipe again if any problems,this should solve ur problem. Good luck.

Any luck with your Note II ?
You can also download a custom rom , then put it in an external card
Slot it in the phone , do full wipe and flash .

same problem after chainfire install
i have exactly the same problem as you. i rooted my phone and after installing chainfire from android market the phone does not get past the logo screen.hard reset,recovery nothing works. can you please tell me the method you used to recover the phone and maybe a link to the factory rom or files that i need to download. people say one has to flash the rom, but how exactly does one do that. big help please. my phone is from india.

Hello, sorry for late reply. Here is the link you need

Search for your country's version of the stock rom and download it.
Download also the odin files included in that first post.
Once you have the stock rom for your country and odin files downloaded, unrar them if they are zipped and place their folders on the desktop or somewhere else you can
easily find them.
Now open odin from the folder you unrared and turn off your phone (your phone shouldn't be connected to the computer at this point).
Once your phone is off. Press and hold simultaneously the volume down button, home key button and the power button. Keep holding them until you
see the samsung logo. Then let go of the buttons and your phone would enter downloading mode.
Now plug in your phone via usb to your computer and a blue light would show on odin with COM written in it.
Now check the box next to PDA and point odin to the tar file contained in the downloaded rom folder you placed on your desktop and hit start on odin.
A progress bar would now show on your phone indicating that odin is flashing your phone with the stock rom.
Once it's finished successfully, it will show on odin "passed" in a green light and your phone should reboot and voila, your phone is now clean as new.
From there, I believe you continue on your own. Now disconnect your pbone and enjoy.
There are also pictures on the link I posted that would explain the process better.

UNREAL. I did the exact same thing. Rooted...no prob. Chainfire3d plugin. Bricked.
I have the Sprint US version. Which ROM do I need?

I have the Verizon I605 version, now I am stuck between the downloading, do not turn off target and the System software not authorized screens........Please help, also Im on a Macbook please include proper instructions for my idiotic turn of events.

What do you do if you can't get your computer to recognize your phone plugged in the USB? I tried to delete the Samsung Drivers and reinstall but it didn't work. I can get my phone to Odin mode but can not get it to flash.
PLEASE HELP.

Make sure you've installed Samsung usb drivers.
Edit: should have read your entire post *sorry* Make sure there are no other usb related proggies running; they might interfere with your sammie usb drivers..

-Don't use any extension cable to connect device, if any.
-Try other USB port (2.0)
-Close Firewall
-Close antivirus
-Kies shouldn't working in background
-Still no way then use different machine.

I have manged to soft brick my galaxy note 2 without any luck of reviving it through all the methods prescribed in this thread as well as the other countless threads !!
Can anybody please guide me where i am going wrong..
I can put the phone in download mode and using odin 1.85 or 3.04 manage to flash these stock roms but they all FAIL after modem.bin..
typically as soon as the Radio starts flashing it fails... I have downloaded these two files and i a tryng my luck with them...
I cannot enter into recovery mode to do a factory reset :crying:
The files i am using are as below :
1) N7100XXUFND3_N7100ODDFND2_N7100DDUFND1_HOME.tar.md5
2) N7100XXALIE_N7100ODDALI9_N7100DDALI9_HOME.tar.md5
Friends plese helpme out.. dont wanna turn this phone into a paper weight... '

[Q] N7100 Rooting problem!

Hello! I'm having some trouble rooting my device. I have rooted my previous device (i9100) before so I'm not a complete noob about this and I followed the instructions EXACTLY.
What's happening is whenever I hit start on Odin to root my phone it comes up with an error "No PIT partition found". The phone is working perfectly well normal but it just seems to get stuck here no matter what I do. I've searched all over the internet and I cannot seem to find a solution to this. I've tried enable/disable debugging and allow unknown sources downloads. I've plugged into different USB's, heck even different computers and installed Kies on(Phone gets recognised by Kies so that's confirmation that I have drivers). I've also set up Odin first then plug my device whilst it's in recover/download (the home/power/volume down one) and vice versa. Nothing...All I keep getting is that error.
I have no clue what's going on but I have contacted Samsung support. The problem is, is that I bought this device off eBay and the seller said it was an unwanted upgrade. So it was still new and when I checked it was. It's also a real Note 2 (Checked it all). I'm not sure if I can still get warranty so I would love it if anyone here could help me with this!

These were errors coming up using Odin version 1.85. However, I have tried everything with Odin 3.
With the newer version I just get " Get PIT for mapping.."
and it stays there and eventually says Failed.
I am running windows vista on this computer and I tested it also on an older xp computer to which I had no success.

Vista hates every thing!!

Driver problem.
Download and install drivers from ketan's thread.
If you have windows 8 then there is a special procedure.
Search samsung drivers and see in one of the xda threads.

Make sure when you put device in download mode (Vol down +home +power) next screen is warning and you pressing Vol up to put device in download mode.
Kies should not run in background
Close if any antivirus installed
Turn off firewall
Then retry

Ive uninstalled kies so it shouldnt be the thing interrupting and have kept drivers because I can still use phone as storage and it recognises it. I am in odin download mode because it says cutom firmware no etcetc. Its all right and ive double checked it. It just doesnt seem tp work :/

I asked the person I bought it off and they said it came factory unlocked and came with his EE contract but it was unwanted upgrade so he sold it. If that information helps

Guys, sorted it out. I tried flashing it through odin on my windows 8 laptop. I think the note 2 will only flash with either windows8 or only on USB2.0 sockets. All computers I have tested and failed on were USB1.0! So happy!

[HELP] Unable to root Grand Duos [OS][WIN8]

Hi,
I'm having Samsung galaxy grand duos. I did installed samsung kies on my Windows 8 PC and got USB drivers installed. but when i'm connecting my phone with cable. PC is saying unable to recognize the device :/
I'm using windows 8
Can anyone help me to sort out this issue?

Uninstall Kies from your PC
Download Samsung USB drivers from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655286
Install and Enable USB debugging and run Odin
Worked for me
Sometimes this error happens
BTW are you from P500 forum ?

Which OS are you using? I am using Windows 8 on my gaming PC and when i plug in my phone with download mode odin doesn't recognize it, but when i plug in the phone with download mode on my laptop (running WIndows 7 64 bit) It recognizes it instantly. I think you should try that ,and also check if you have drivers installed

i used windows 7 but i don't know which bit (not mine) and i donloaded kies and installed it but nothing

Are you using Odin or Odin multi downloader. And what does it say when you connect your phone? Does the computer play the sound when something is plugged in or it doesn't respond at all?

i used odin multidownlaoder it didn't recognized the three phones and i downloaded the multidownloader from other place and it didn't work but when i downloaded the odin 3x normal it recognized the two phones except galaxy w that was the problem

the phone is not recognized only by odin or there is no way your pc can see it even for mass storage?

no the pc reads mass storage the only option i had is to download stock framware and flash it again but i could cuz i was on a travel

Help fix my only phone, please!

First, I wanna say sorry for if this is in the wrong spot, first time poster here.
Ok I have a S7 and I wanted to try to install lineage OS on it. I think I messed up because it will not get off the lineage os boot screen. So then I tried to restore a backup I created with TWRP using TWRP and that failed, so now the phone is stuck on the Galaxy S7 powered by android screen and I kew I have to use odin to flash firm. I got my official firm, but no matter how many times I install samsung usb drivers or samsung kies, Odin does not detect my phone... I tried installing the drivers with the phone in, then without, then without again and restarted the PC, nothing. Then I installed Kies with the phone not plugged in, restarted, Odin still cant detect phone. Its my only phone, please help. If I go to google about this I just get told to download drivers which I clearly stated I have. I even tried 3 different USB cords, yet I know the one I am using should work because I transferred data to and from the phone before!!!!

Instead of Kies, install Samsung Smart Switch on your PC which will install the latest Samsung drivers:
Smart Switch | Apps & Services | Samsung Canada
Simple data transfers. Secure backups. Smart Switch is the app that moves content to your new Samsung Galaxy from your old device, whether it's an Android device or not.

Then you need to restart in download mode (Odin mode) in order to flash the ROM.

THAT WORKED!!! YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!! The phone is now detected by odin, and currently fleshing official firmware!!! Thank you so much!!! I even went to samsungs drivers download site and that didn't work. I forgot about Smart Switch. Thank you again, I honestly appreciate you!

Yes in this process data wipe is reqiuered because of downgrading and going back to Samsung official software.
