Recovery replaced - Sony Xperia M

Every time I flash cyanogenmod 12.1 on my device, xperia M C1904, I loose my custom recovery, i.e., CWM or TWRP and get reverted back to Cyanogen Recovery and I say to you that this recovery is bad, literally very bad. Nothing ever works with this recovery.
The command am using to flash recovery is:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Thank you in advance.

Fota recovery not use that command, if you flash boot.img (kernel with recovery). Your kernel will always be replace it with any recovery depend on ROM that you flash it, try to see FOTA with dd if command.

[Q] "This is yuga" issue

After I installed TWRP recovery, when I try to flash a new rom the installer says that the rom is not compatible, because it's built for another device. Something like "this is yuga, this rom is compatible with - the xperia zl name -". Do you know how to fix it?

It is. It looks like after installing the recovery the device identify itself as yuga, causing the problem. I don't know if I have to flash another boot or recovery or kernel to fix this.

Not sure. If this was the "Dual recovery" installation, go download the zl version and re-flash...

Bro. You don't need any recovery. Just flash boot.img from the zip using fastboot. You'll have a recovery installed

However rom won't work unless you flash cm based kernel so you need to unlock boot loader anyways

I flashed zip [TWRP][PhilZ Touch][CWM] XZDualRecovery 2.7.1XX RC and got the same error when I tried to install Paranoid Android rom (which is based on CM, right?). "this rom is for odin, this device is yuga".

It worked! Thank you so much... now I understand that to install a rom, first I need to flash a specific boot to that rom.

Not always. If you are using stock based rom you just need stock kernel. However to use cm based roms you'll need this respective kernel.

You may even take a backup in CWM before flashing CM 11 and then restore it so no need to flash through flash tool
Does the backup store in the SD card?

Half yes. Half no.
If you take cwm backup then you can simply restore it back to get your settings and apps back. Then if you want stock kernel flash kernel only through flash tool. So you have a stock ROM along with your saved settings.
When you want complete stock same as when You first started it then you need to Flash full stock ROM, wipe data and cache and relock bootloader.

unroot

anyone know how to unroot the 7a as im selling it,thanks
Just flash the stock ROM back, and it will unroot your device and wipe your data.

You can only flash stock ROM with oppo stock recovery. So get back to stock recovery using fastboot or recovery installer.

Use Flashify. Download it for free from Google Play.
Extract the recovery image (.img file), open flashify choose recovery option search the file where it's located in your phone's memory and go ahead. Flash it.
If your running Lollipop stock ROM and want to gain root again without a PC. Then install Kingroot app and you'll be back in the party.
