LG G4 Weird Pinch Zoom Problem - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
It is very weird that I cannot pinch zoom when I place my LG G4 on my sofa. Anyone can explain this phenomenon?
The problem also exist in photo gallery and in my games.
Please refer to my video:

Same problem. Didn't even notice until I read your post... I have no explanation.

My guess is the curvature of the screen is to blame. I notice the same as well - when on a table or equivalent surface, touch input is not consistent because the finger pressure is not even over the curvature of the screen. The rocky back cover also doesn't help matters much. Only when I steady it (even while still on said surface), touch input is normal.

Anyone else has any other clue why ?

Phone Dialer Screen Shot

Can someone please post a screen shot of the Touch Pro 2 phone dialer? That's going to be the interface I use the the most, and I am curious how that looks? Thanks in advance for the help.
Check out the dozens of video and text reviews of this device.

Thanks, ohyeahar. I looked through all of the material on those two links, and I've found screen shots of just about everything, but a shot of the number pad that pops up to dial a number. Did I miss those pics?

here we go ...

Camera focus tweak

Tab once to focus the lens then tap a second time to actually take the pic. Is there anyway to achieve this? I think the TP1 could do this, right? This would be a great feature/tweak.
If I remember correctly, TP1 didn't have the "tap the screen to focus" feature (at least, I'm sure it could only focus on the center point). It did, though, have the option to focus when a finger was detected on the capacitive d-pad center and take the picture only when the user actually pressed the button. Maybe you were thinking of this feature (or maybe I just remember wrong )?
Anyways, I too think this would be a great idea. Too bad I have no idea how to implement it myself
Yes, that's exactly the feature I'm referring to. Maybe someone with better insight than me can figure out an equivalent method on the TP2. Thanks for the reply.

Issues with HTC TILT 2 camera....help?

I'm at a lost and have checked through other threads/posts and can't find anything. I have the HTC Tilt 2 with factory ROM and when I take pictures in any mode, they show up in all plaid color variations. On the preview TF3 screen they sometimes show up plaid, on the album preview screen with small tabs the pictures are normal but when you click to make it bigger and scroll through them, it's back to plaid again! The pictures I had and imported show up fine but the ones I take now I can barely view. I had a camera tweak installed for more options but took it off just in case. It does it with or without the tweak installed. Any other instances of this out there or can anyone give help, ideas, thoughts or tweak links to fix? Thanks!
Mine just recently started doing this as well. has anyone found a solution other than a factory reset? becasue i really don't want to do that.

I was having this same issue, and the information on the first post solved it for me.

Missing the Captivate Camera Effect

Hey all,
When I had my Samsung Captivate, there was an effect that would allow you to take a picture of a person on one side, have them move to the other side, and snap a picture again, then it would stitch them together to make a pretty interesting shot. I can't seem to find it on the current camera app, or maybe a third party app that does this? Thanks so much.

Can you confirm what this mode was called? I can't picture it in my head.. sounds like that 3D full panorama mode..
Found it in the manual on AT&T's site:
Add me: combines people with existing background.
Tap the screen to pick which side of the screen to
focus on. Press the camera key. Focus on a
background and press the camera key a second time.
Taken from http://www.att.com/support_static_files/manuals/Samsung_Captivate.pdf page 82.
I found an app in the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/..._result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImJyLmNsb25lbWUiXQ..
This should do the trick.

Sorry about that! BTW, both apps I've found in the Play Store don't come close to what the Captivate did. They don't work very well. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.

New S Note issues

I got my Galaxy Note for the sole purpose of taking notes in class, but I've had a lot of issues with the S Note app and I'm seriously considering returning it. I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same issues as me.
First off, when I try to import a pdf with a large number of pages, it just gets stuck on the Importing... screen for a long time. I thought this might be because it is converting to pdf in some way. Also while it's converting the back near the camera area gets very warm.
Secondly, while I was in class and taking notes, the stupid S Notes app starting lagging. I would draw a pencil stroke, and it would take about 5 seconds for the stroke to show up on the screen! This happens usually after writing on it for about 10 minutes or so and it only happens in the S-Note app.
And my last issue was the paper choices and sizes. They don't let you use regular sized U.S paper. And the paper has a weird brown color on it, so if you print it you'll see an ugly brown shade behind it. I really wish they would fix this app.
Also, I tried lecture notes, but it just doesn't write as smoothly as S-Note. I want to make it work, but unless Samsung releases an update soon, I might have to go back to pen and paper.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issues as me?
I'm having similar problems on my side. I really hate the zoom occurring while my palm is on the screen. Is there no way to lock the screen? No matter what I do the page keeps shifting. The three finger pinch to show the menu sucks because it keeps zooming the page. I tried switching to lecture notes, but just as you said it is not as smooth.

Have you tried disabling the finger touch by hitting the hand icon?

I don't have problem number 2, I'm not sure why you're having that problem. But for problem number one, I use ezPDF and just take snapshots of things I want in the PDF. That way i can just copy and paste into my notes.

I have tried that and it'll still go on the fritz every now and then. Also, you should check out the adobe reader app. I tried ezPDF but reader does the same stuff and is free, less crowded, and a bit smother.

Yea, I've started using ezPDF which isn't too terrible. It does have a slightly unattractive interface but it gets the job done. I also did a factory reset and hopefully that will fix my issues with the strokes taking unbearably long to show up on the page (maybe there was a conflict with some other software). I'm still waiting for my Samsung Perks, so I can buy the full version of ezPDF.
I really hope Samsung works out there issues. I'm seriously considering returning this and buying the old Galaxy 10.1 model. That one seems to have a better S Note app, and for half the price.

Try Note AnyTime, this is free, by a japaneese Company ( MetaMoJi).
This is good for note taking.
I dropped S-Notes, because it cannot cut/copy and paste hand written note.
So if you want to move part of your hand written sentence to another area,
which is more appropriate, without re-writing it, you are out of luck.
That is the biggest problem, as far as I am concerned.
The work around was not acceptable to me, which is as follows.
You can take a snapshot of the whole screen and crop only the interested hand written part, and
re-use it, but that means, you have converted your hand writing, to a bitmap, with all the back ground image.
This is horrible, do not know how they can release S-Note without this basic feature.
Mind that, Note AnyTime does not have to shape rendering feature ( hand drawn circle to perfect circle),
or the formula rendering feature.
But I can leave with it.
Hope that helps.

There's a lot of suggestions on how to improve smoothness on Lecture Notes here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2473844
