Hey all,
When I had my Samsung Captivate, there was an effect that would allow you to take a picture of a person on one side, have them move to the other side, and snap a picture again, then it would stitch them together to make a pretty interesting shot. I can't seem to find it on the current camera app, or maybe a third party app that does this? Thanks so much.

Can you confirm what this mode was called? I can't picture it in my head.. sounds like that 3D full panorama mode..
Found it in the manual on AT&T's site:
Add me: combines people with existing background.
Tap the screen to pick which side of the screen to
focus on. Press the camera key. Focus on a
background and press the camera key a second time.
Taken from http://www.att.com/support_static_files/manuals/Samsung_Captivate.pdf page 82.
I found an app in the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/..._result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImJyLmNsb25lbWUiXQ..
This should do the trick.

Sorry about that! BTW, both apps I've found in the Play Store don't come close to what the Captivate did. They don't work very well. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.

I found this Contact Manager just today while I was browsing online.

It works great on my 8525 and is all touch activated, kind of resembles the iphone. Works nicely. There is also a keyboard program that copies the iphone as well.
Just thought I would share with the community.

I like it also, but I find it difficult to scroll precisely. Sometimes it goes 10 contacts ahead, sometimes 100!
And it is a litte difficult to really close it.
The keyboard I really like.
There are big threads running in the General section.

Sorry I didn't really know where to post it. I guess I should have put it there.
What I figured out is that if you want to close it, you just hit the hang up button and then it closes like with any other program really. And if you want it to scroll slower you just move your finger slower. I've been playing around with it all night and seems to be working out. Remember this is just a BETA version of it. So it has a lot of potential and it moves pretty fast.
There are threads already for it. Please research a bit before posting, Please read rules before posting http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=221545

Easy way to close it is to take it out of fullscreen mode. Then you can hit the x-button to close it like any other program.
thanks!
I just want to say big ups to all of you guys. I just recently completed some customizations on my (once boring) 8525. The pocket cm is wonderful and the pocketcm keyboard is a nice touch. I do have one question.
It seems that i cannot send sms' directly from pocket cm. Is there a way that you can sms your contacts directly from the pocket cm?
Thanks
just have to press and hold the send button in pocket cm for like a 2 second count and it sends.

PocketCM it's great, but about keyboard I think that "touchpal" it's better.
link for touchpal is http://www.cootek.com/intro.html
So, I'm certainly not a developer of WP7 apps. But, I came across the app, gMapsPro developed by Alexey Strakh (@alexeystrakh) and Alex Sorokoletov (@alexsorokoletov), and they must have figured out how to take a screen shot bc they have a camera button in the app that allows you to take a screen shot of the location you are currently mapping. So, yeah, I don't know what to do with this recent revelation, but I figure I would let the forums know since I've seen plenty of threads about the lack of the ability to take screen shots. If this is old news, sorry, shoot me leg off
Reuters news has one too. I just discovered it.

He's talking about the app saving the image for you. 4th and Mayor does this as well. It's a nice feature, especially for those without unlocked devices, really useful.
All is in the title.
It would be great if a developer like Mike86 or others, make this mod in his ROM.
Thank, and sorry for my English.
+1!!!!
There are camera apps capable of taking photos with the volume button, such as Camera FV-5
Or do you mean like a dedicated button that launches a camera app?

I think it would be brilliant to make it happen in the stock camera.
Not so sure about a button to launch the camera. I like what my buttons do right now.
Up!
I'd like an answer from developers.
Sure that a lot of peaple would like to have this option .
+1!
the camera app could be launched by long-press the recentapps button because
the most roms use the rec.button as the menu button, and the recent app get launched by long-press the homebutton so the rec.button could used as a camera button by long pressing
pkmn ROM contains the tweak to set a button/longpress as a custom app. use that and set it to camera
.

Ok ok
But if I created this topic in the dev & co because I wanted dev. to read this post, but I think in the general section, they won't see it.
Sorry anyway.

Credit to Team PKMN for this - thanks guys
Hi Everyone,
In the video below, at around 2:30, the S-Note app is launched and it opens a New Note at start-up. I haven't been able to do that. Whenever I launch S-Note, it opens a list of existing books by type, with a plus sign on the top right, which has to be tapped in order to create a new note. How can I configure S-Note to open a New Note automatically at start-up, like in the video? I appreciate all help.

Hi Alanbr,
Would you mind posting the answer you found for yourself here to help others who may have the same question? Saves it being asked again as people can see your response when they search.
Many thanks

Of course. What I found out is that there is actually no way of doing what I wanted. In the video, what happened is that most certainly the Notes app had already been opened and all the steps needed to create a new note had already been taken, and the app was running in the background. So then, in the video, when the app was "opened" from the Multi-Window, it seemed that it was being launched, but actually it was only being brought to the foreground.
Regards,
Alan
If you wanna open a quick note just hold the button on the s-pen and double tap the screen.

A better description on the thread title would help you & the forum members a lot.
Infact, any sort of description whether on the thread title or your post would be helpful. Just posting a youtube link with a vague comment without any information about what sort of a video & its context is to be frank, quite irritating and can be classified as spam.

I thought this was old news? As far as I'm concerned they can spy away. I use that app to help illuminate the darker corners of my body that light does not get to (for grooming purposes ya know) Jokes on them. tehe

I never use a flashlight app anyway, I just use TWB because its integrated into it. It's funny because If I had a flashlight app that requested those permissions I would just block them via xposed and call it a day.
