Do you still have unlocked bootloader?
---
Sony Xperia A2 SO-04F (Japan version of Z1 Compact)

no TA backup restore my ta partition successfully and relock my BT

Which kernel do you use? I've read, that TA DRM keys could be used only with stock kernels.
And when do you made TA backup? Before or after bootloader unlock?

Yes it works. I am in SE Asia region. but with the mkt unlocker app i was able to access several EU apps flawlessly, which was initially not available in my region.
Once rooted you can remove bloatware install mods, you can use cwm to do full phone backups, some roms.... Rooting will only improve the phones performance.

Backing up DRM keys for Bootloader

As we know we lose our DRM keys after unlocking BL, so I have a question, is it possible to backup them and then restore after unlock BL, and is it possible to use keys from another XPERIA S if I didn't make backup of it. I miss Bravia Engine : ((

DRM Keys Can Not Be Restored After Sony Unlock (Will Conflict Service OTA)
--> Reason Being. After you provide your information on Sony site for Unlocking Bootloader your device gets registered for void of warranty and loss of DRM keys.
Alternative is To Unlock bootloader without using Sony Site,
The other method discussed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285285 for Sony 2011 line of devices
Keeps DRM keys intact without change.
Another way is Backing up TA Partition

Select Xperia SL, as Xperia S= Xperia SL. At the most You will get the wrong code, it won't be accepted and Your bootloader will not be unlocked.

So if that doesn't work, what do i need to do to successfully unlock my xperia S bootloader ?

It should work. But if it doesn't I don't know any other method. You could try contacting Sony. But that method should work, since even on the old page (which is inaccessible now), same parameters were used for Xperia S as well as Xperia SL.

[Test] MirrorLink...

As Sony has removed this feature from certain devices I pulled the files from the latest X Performance ROM to see if it would work on my X Compact and so far so good, unfortunately I don't have a MirrorLink enabled device at hand to test if it fully works...

...if anyone could confirm if it does or not it would be much appreciated.
EDIT: Attachment removed as no one has confirmed if it works or not.
@SXUsr: A friend of mine can test it, can you post that link again? Was it a recovery flashable zip (please add some instructions, as I'm not Xperia user and my friend isn't used to any kind of modding).
Thx
As ggow said, userspace (that) isn't enough to have support.
You also need a kernel with the required code (which even latest X sources technically have, but it's not toggled on)
@SXUsr
That worked on a Xperia XZ with 41.2.A.7.53 and Duality Kernel (which has in fact CONFIG_USB_MIRRORLINK=y in the sources)
EDIT: please take note that this was with DRM restore though. It probably won't work without.
any chance to get that attachment back here for download and testing ?
thank you.
It was mirrored in the first page of the thread I linked
Of course, I hope you understand you are in the sony section, and that you'll need a supporting kernel.
sony xperia xz2 compact mirrorlink?
hey,
i d like to use Sygic car navigation. it supports MirrorLink but my phone dont.
can i start MirrorLink on my Sony Xperia XZ2 compact somehow?
XZ2 Compact
I'd really love to get mirrorlink up and running on my XZ2 compact. I have no idea what kernels are. Could someone point me in the right direction to what to do? Cheers!
