Phone stuck in black screen after rooting and installing recovery in toolkit

So after choosing step 3 and installing everything that i needed like root su and recovery it booted and stays stuck on black screen with led glowing blue. how can i fix this? i already factory reset the phone but no go. Someone please help
Edit; btw im on the latest official build when i tried rooting and it failed.

should i flash root66 tmo stock jb with root via odin to fix this or flash to stock firmware?

ya just flash through odin to whatever you want... i had the same thing happen. i think the tool kit doesnt like jb.. lol

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T Possible Soft Brick?

So, i decide to root my s3 because i wanted to do some cool stuff. I got odin, got the tar file and tried flashing it. For some reason it didn't work :crying: On odin it gave me a fail. I was in download mode too. So, when i turn on my s3 it is in odin mode but it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." i did this in kies and when it was at like 99% it gives me an error. :crying:
so i tried flashing again in odin still fail, but i get on my s3 SV REV CHECK FAIL: Fused 2 > Binary 0. I have no clue what that means, So, i just want my phone to get working again i dont care about rooting anymore. JUST HELP ME FIX IT!!!!:crying:
BTW: I di root my Kindle Fire a while back so i thought I would have experience with this (i kind of do) but i guess I thought wrong.

Was your phone running a stock 4.3 AT&T ROM? What method did you use to try and root the phone?

i think so and i tired using odin and i put the phone in download mode so i could flash the .tar file

Since your phone was running a stock 4.3 ROM, you can't use Odin to install a stock AT&T 4.3 ROM because it doesn't exist. There are leaked ROMs around that you could try flashing.
Alternatively, you could install a custom recovery and install a custom 4.4.2 ROM.

I installed a recovery and guess what, it started working again! All my data was still there too! Thanks i really appreciate you taking the time to help me! I also was able to succsessfully root it by using the CF auto root .tar file. Once again, thanks a ton!

[Solved] Help, I cant install custom recovery!

Hello.
Just got this phone, i trade it for a s3.First thing im trying to do is install custom recovery..but something is wrong. i flashed the phone like 15 times with all of the recoveries, twrp, cwm, philz... and the phone always boots into the official recovery. Odin says its ok.PASS, Sucsseded 1, failed 0..
And than when i try to boot into the recovery the stock recovery shows up??
It happened on the 4.1.2, and i updated it to 4.3, official via ota, and it is the same with 4.3 too.
Can anyone help me?

You're supposed to root the phone first, then flash custom recovery.

Lol, im trying that right now!

Phils recovery has a root and custom recovery in one that can be flashed with odin. Because you have done the 4.3 ota you will probably have to deal with knox now. Dr ketans guides are really helpful, you need to know what bootloader you have now.

I did it!
The solution is TO READ! What i didnt do completly
The problem was with the recovery restore files that were present. I manged to rename those files, root it and install twrp with the SkipSoft toolkit.

Hey guys,
I'm using a i747m and i installed and did everything right. I installed the kernel (QuantumKernel-10-11-2) to the Rom (Quantum 5.2).
IT WORKED GREAT! But I wanted to go back to the stock. At this point I had not made a back up before doing all this.
After searching I found this file "16GB_ROGERS_MF1_STOCK_WITH_COUNT_RESET(07-15-13)" in one of the forums on here saying it will make my job easier to go back to stock.
I Installed "16GB_ROGERS_MF1_STOCK_WITH_COUNT_RESET(07-15-13)" but after selecting reboot it wont start up; the screen does not power up or vibrate.
ive tried a debricking method but with no luck.
If anyone can help or point me toward un-bricking of my phone that would great!!

twrp2.6-canadian_gs3

Twrp is the recovery.
Did you flash the fine using twrp or Odin?
Sounds like you may need to JTAG the phone

What was the last stock Rogers ROM on your phone? The MF1 file is a 4.1.2 ROM.
If you flashed the MF1 ROM over a 4.3 or 4.4.2 ROM, your bootloader may have been corrupted by flashing the MF1 ROM.

Stuck in Download mode with Sprint Galaxy S3

Phone was rooted with a custom rom and custom recovery. I tried to do the OTA update to get the latest version of Android Stock and it failed. I downloaded Odin and tried to flash stock recovery and now its stuck in Download Mode.
I have tried all these roms with no success

Holy cow. You cannot OTA update with custom ROM and recovery. Not possible. You need Odin with the whole stock ROM (which is KitKat). Ugh
You would have to flash the entire stock .tar in Odin.... Why? It's KitKat... 4.4.2. no security patches.
Flash TWRP and whatever custom ROM you were on.
No backup? It's difficult to help that

i do have a backup
If I could just get TWRP working I would be all set and minimum be back where I started.

I was able to fix the phone.
I installed Kies3Setup
I ran all the updates and then I uninstalled it.
I downloaded L710VPUDNJ2_L710SPRDNJ2_L710VPUDNJ2_HOME.tar.md5
I successfully loaded it in PDA with Odin3v185
hopefully this helps someone else who's stuck in download mode with a Sprint Galaxy s3
