My moto 360 has a mind of its own, sometimes notifications work and sometimes they don't. Tried reset and restart watch. Sometimes it helps but few days later its back. I know this an known problem but not finding a resolve.

Hello,
On about 3 or 4 occasions I've gone to unlock my phone with my face and its failed so I've gone to pattern unlock as fail safe only to notice that the screen is unresponsive. No matter what I try it just doesn't respond. A reboot fixes this.
Has anyone else noticed this? Its not like the other touchscreen issues where it seems multi touch related, it does nothing.
Once time I managed to unlock it with my face realising the issue and I found the touchscreen still didn't work even when unlocked.

yes.. happened to me couple of times, but after i upgraded tp 4.0.2 from official google's image there are no problems..
it happened to me after i speak on my phone for a long time anf switch off the screen and switch it back up again.
but no problem now
Glad to hear its not just me then. It does seem a software bug.

It did it again today. At least I know its not Beautiful Widgets as I uninstalled that thinking it was that.

Anyone uses JuiceDefender ?
Cheers~
I have had same issue, I'm on 4.0.3 aosp. I have noticed, if I leave phone for a little while without use, touch screen does come back, most of the time
Running juice defender as well, might try removing and see

I removed Juice Defender but I still had the issue. It just did it again while charging. Are you all using face unlock?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
No. Never used face unlock. Do use light flow, others?
Rellikzephyr
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
No , I`m not using face unlock. Instead , I do have installed Light Flow !
Cheers~
Unfortunately I don't have light flow installed.

Glad it isn't only me then!
I posted in another thread suspecting it was Juice Defender but after uninstalling it i got the error one more time. I still haven't done a factory reset to check if it's still there, though.
How do you guys reboot when the screen becomes unresponsive? Do you just hold the power button in until it turns off/reboots? It seems like it's worked for me but only maybe 3/5 times.
I just pull the battery out.

I can confirm this problem.
I'm on 4.0.2 stock Google build, no juicedefender.
Only happens on lock pattern.

If you set face unlock, you can unlock and find it still doesn't respond.

I'm running stock 4.0.2 and I have this problem a fair bit. I use a numeric password unlock, and whenever it freezes I just wait a few minutes and the screen becomes responsive again. Very annoying though. I hope this issue is resolved soon.
I've not had any issues for a while. The odd random reboot but no screen freezes anymore.

occurred on 4.0.4
occurred on GSM version running 4.0.4. received an call and could not attend, I don't use any lock pattern. last thing I did before this occurred was to install call filter, not sure if that caused the issue.
I had this problem on my vzw nexus. It just started happening more and more to the point that I had to hard reset to get it to work. The problem never went away so I got it replaced. Then had the replacement replaced due to unrelated screen color issues.

Anyone else experiencing random reboots? I have had one so far when using chrome.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I'm beginning to wonder.
For me, I haven't caught it. But I use Sidebar and RoundR which have stupid notifications. I hide the notifications but they return after every reboot... And I'm finding them on more often then I would like.
So either the device is rebooting, or there is a problem with the Hide Notifications sticking.
Typically reboots are issues with the kernel. I doubt it is hardware. If it weren't for the notifications, I wouldn't even suspect it. Could be more wide spread then people are noticing.
I would advise everyone to keep a watch on it. I'm looking for an app that says when the last boot was. Android settings > Status shows uptime. Mine shows 14 hours, which would be accurate since I unlocked and all that jazz.
Could just be an incompatibility with 4.3 or the app in general.
I'll just wait and see.

I've only had that one, And ever since it's been perfectly fine.

Does anyone have their tablet freeze randomly for a bit, and make it unresponsive for a while (few seconds)?
Or is this the touch screen issue everyone is talking about?
Occasionally, but then again, my first n7 does this loads, as well as my phone, probably an android problem Tbf, every device I've used, including apple products have occasional few seconds of hold ups

I've noticed this on mine as well... I think it has to do with the touchscreen issues. In some spots, I'll tap and there is a few milliseconds delay. In other spots, the taps are recognized immediately.

Mine has a few times on the YouTube app earlier today. First time experiencing it. Unresponsive and gets stuck. Can't even press back button soft key.
Clearly apps fauit since I press home and it goes back to normal. I have to kill the app nd restart again for it to work

me too...
but only when typing in the facebook app with Swiftkey (swiftkey seems to crash sometime... after 5-6 seconds freezing)
but it happened to me only 2 or 3 times in the last week.
Yup, this happens to me frequently, Especially when using Chrome. Freezes for about 10secods then resumes.

Use Chrome Beta as your default and just disable Chrome Stable. It doesn't happen on the Beta builds at all. The most recent Chrome Stable update has an issue within it.
yes this happens, and even turning the screen off won't register. it's a system wide freeze, not a touch screen issue.
Sent from my Nexus 7 FHD using Tapatalk 4
This happens to all 4.3 builds including nexus 4...its a fault with aosp not device
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yes but only when in GMail compose mode.

yeah exactly my problem.
For me, the freezing occurs while I am using a browser such as dolphin or Chrome.
The devs in the Nexus 4 section have decided it has to do with the JSS build of 4.3 which is what we have as stock. Its not device specific and looks to be a big problem.

The freeze goes away for me with an alternate kernel.
I'm using Faux's and it's not doing it.
YMMV, of course.

I have a note 3 that is having issues with the sound. Once a day all my sounds will stop working and I have to do a battery pull to get them back. This started happening after the KitKat update. Any ideas what might be causing this and are the any fixes???? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it's a coincidence but I recently update to 4.4.3 and the auto rotate on the N7 2013 not working. Will only rotate when certain apps force it to. Anybody having that problem or solution
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Yes. It kind of drives me nuts. The last rotation I used sticks after a few hours of leaving it in sleep mode. A reboot fixes it for me.
Crap reboot not working for me. I'm using an app that sits in the notification bar that will force the rotate in the meantime
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Me too not working
Have you tried flashing a custom rom? Auto rotate works fine on my N7 running Pac-man 4.4.3 (6/9 nightly).
Sent from my Insane S4 via XDA App.
That happens to me as well. I'm using an apo to force rotation whenever I want to rotate it, otherwise a reboot usually fixes it, until it goes back to sleep.
Better of with an app.

Don't know if it's a cure, but this happened to me when I upgraded the rom (4.3 variety). Thought the gyro sensor was gone 'cause I then flashed 2 different custom roms and it didn't budge. So I took it apart, and finding nothing noticeable, I disconnected the battery for a few seconds, reconnected it, reseated all the cables and closed it. Then it worked again.
This thing is fickle!!!
Same issue here, reboot fixes for a while. Not real comfortable with taking it apart...
